The Barron Prize annually honors 25 outstanding young leaders who have made a significant positive impact on people, their communities, and the environment.Nihal founded Recycle My Battery to promote and facilitate the recycling of used batteries. His nonprofit places free battery recycling bins(箱子) and educates young people and adults about battery recycling. In just three years he has built a team of more than 250 student volunteers across the globe who have recycled nearly 200, 000 batteries and educated millions of people. Nihal learned at age 10 that 15 billion batteries are thrown away each year and that most end up in landfills(垃圾填埋地) where they pollute groundwater, harm the ecosystem, and can cause catastrophic fires. Inspired to tackle the problem, he began collecting used batteries from his community. He put themin free recycling bins at stores like Staples until he was told he was bringing too many and had to stop.Undeterred, he reached out for help from Call2Recycle, the largest battery recycling nonprofit in North America. Call2Recycle agreed to assist and provided recycling bins for free, which were placed in schools, libraries, and other public places. Nihal's organization now operates across the U. S. and is expanding to other countries including Canada, Switzerland, and India. "Earth gives us so much--oxygen, food, water --everything! So it's important that we give something back when we can, "says Nihal. The Barron Prize was founded in 2001 by author T. A. Barron. "Nothing is more inspiring than stories about heroic people who have truly made a difference to the world, " says T. A. Barron. "And we need our heroes today more than ever. Not celebrities, but heroes-people whose character can inspire us all. That is the purpose of the Barron Prize: to shine the spotlight on these amazing young people so that their stories will inspire others. "4. What does Recycle My Battery intend to do?A. Protect the earth from used batteries.B. Promote used batteries across the globe.C. Make money by collecting used batteries.D. Stop people throwing used batteries away.5. What does the underlined word "Undeterred" in Paragraph 3 probably mean?A. Undiscouraged.B. Unprepared.C. Unsurprised.D. Uninterested.6. How did Call2Recycle help Nihal's organization?A. By making it go global.B. By offering free recycling bins.C. By providing financial support.D. By buying more used batteries.7. What is the text mainly about?A. The importance of recycling batteries.B. The impact of batteries on the environment.C. The achievements of the Barron Prize winners.D. The inspiring story of a young environmentalist.CMore than 50 million people in Asia, Africa, the Middle East and elsewhere follow pastoralism (游牧) as a way of life. The practice has survived for so long because it is designed to change with the environment. Pastoralists move with animals to find new lands and water, leaving behind eaten plants to regrow.Mongolia is well known for its pastoralism. Agvaantogtokh and his family are herders (牧民). On horseback, he rides with nearly a thousand sheep and goats to help them find water. Some-times, he and his wife, Nurmaa, stop to help struggling young ones, weak after a difficult winter. For families like Agvaantogtokh's, pastoralism is more than a profession. It is a cultural identity that connects generations. At its heart is the human connection to animals. While they consider the animals as their property, they also see them as living beings working alongside them.Researchers say herders believe in "animal agency". Agvaantogtokh lets his animals choose the food they eat and where they find water. To him, restricting an animal's movement and asking it to eat the same thing each day is like putting a person in prison. In Mongolia, weather extremes are a part of life. When Agvaantogtokh thinks about climate change, he is concerned about humans and animals. Continuous dry and warm weather affects Mon-golia. Since 1940, the government says, average temperatures have risen 2. 2 degrees Celsius. To keep their practice alive, pastoralists seek ways to modernize. In Mongolia, Lkhaebum recently began using a small vehicle to more easily search for horses. The family uses electricity and has other tech-nologies including a TV and a washing machine. They also use a cellphone to follow the weather and access social media where herders share information. One of the biggest threats to pastoralism comes from within. Nurmaa and Agvaantogtokh's 18-year-old daughter studies medicine. Their son spoke about becoming a herder when he was a child, but not anymore. "I won't regret anything if my child won't be a herder, "Nurmaa said. "I would like them to do what they desire to do. "8. What contributes to the survival of pastoralism?A. Huge pastoralist populations.B. Adaptation to the environment.C. Herders' desire to travel to new places.D. Slow development of modernization.9. What does pastoralism mean to Agvaantogtokh?A. The distinct identity of animals.B. A poorly-paid profession.C. An out-of-date lifestyle.D. The bond between man and animals.10. What does "animal agency" in Paragraph 4 refer to?A. Animals' living in cages.B. Animals' eating the same thing.C. Animals' struggling in shelters.D. Animals' moving around freely.11. What is a big challenge for pastoralism?A. Modern technology.B. No government support.C. Young people's disinterest in it.D. Lack of information exchange.DDr Paul King at Texas Christian University has been an influential scholar in the field of com-munication studies for 30 years. I spoke to King about his research into "state anxiety in listening performance". Most of us believe that anxiety impacts only the person giving the speech or presenta-tion. Dr King has discovered that audience members feel anxiety, too.King says that listening is a tiring activity because the learner is continually adding material to be remembered-retrieved-later. This is what he means by "cognitive backlog (认知积压)". Put simply, the longer the task or the more information that is delivered, the greater the cognitive load. According to King. listening to a five-minute presentation produces a relatively small amount of cognitive backlog: an 18-minute presentation produces a little more, while a 60-minute presentation produces so much backlog that you risk seriously upsetting your audience unless you create a very engaging presentation with "soft breaks"-stories, videos, demonstrations, or other speakers. The longer the presentation, the more the listener has to organize, comprehend, and remember. The burden increases along with a listener's anxiety. They become increasingly frustrated, even an-gry. King says that the current research into memory processing suggests that it's better to study content on two or three occasions for a short period of time instead of spending an entire evening cramming(填鸭式学习).King applies the results to his graduate class on research methods. If given a choice, most grad-uate students would rather attend a single three-hour class than three 50-minute classes. When King taught his class once a week, he found that the students returned for the next class having lost most of the information they had learned the prior week. King discovered the "better practice" was to schedule the same content on three separate occasions, such as Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. King said that despite objections, when he taught the class on three occasions his students scored better and exhibited a better memory of the complex material.12. What does Dr Paul King say about "cognitive backlog"?A. It should be prevented from happening.B. It is affected by the number of listeners.C. It changes with the length of a presentation.D. It produces a negative effect on mental health.13. What is the function of "soft breaks"?A. To case listeners' anxiety.B. To show the talents of speakers.C. To add topics to the presentation.D. To make the presentation longer.14. What does Dr Paul King's new practice focus on?A. Exploring complex materials.B. Completing a single task at a time.C. Breaking up the whole into parts.D. Grouping students by their levels.15. What can we learn about Dr Paul King's new class schedule?A. It was welcomed by students.B. It turned out to be a success.C. It made no difference indeed.D. It still had room for improvement.第二节(共5小题;每小题2. 5分, 满分12. 5分)阅读下面短文, 从短文后的选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项, 选项中有两项为多余选项。

memory 雅思口语
memory 雅思口语1. Memory in IELTS speaking can be a real rollercoaster. You know, it's like trying to catch a bunch of butterflies. Sometimes, the memories just flutter right out of your grasp. For example, when I was preparing for an IELTS topic about my childhood memories, I could remember the big events like birthdays, but the little details, like what color balloons we had? Poof! Gone.2. Memory is a tricky thing when it comes to IELTS speaking. It's like a box full of jumbled-up photos. You have to dig deep to find the right one. I remember once my friend was talking about his travel memories for an IELTS practice. He was so excited about the destination, but when it came to the name of the local food he ate, his mind went blank. Just like you open that box and can't find the photo you need right away.3. IELTS speaking and memory? Oh boy, it's a wild ride. Memory is like a moody friend. Sometimes it's super helpful, and other times it just abandons you. I had this experience where I was supposed to talk about a memorable event in school. I could clearly remember the feeling of winning the competition, but thename of the teacher who presented the award? My memory was like, "Nah, I'm not giving you that today."4. Memory for IELTS speaking is a bit like a treasure hunt. You're searching for those precious gems of memories. One of my classmates was doing an IELTS mock test. He was talking about his family memories. He could recall the family vacations vividly, but when it came to the exact year of a particular trip, it was like he was fumbling in the dark for that hidden treasure.5. In IELTS speaking, memory can be a double - edged sword. It's like a flashlight in a dark cave. It can shine brightly on some memories and leave others in the shadows. I was chatting with another IELTS aspirant. She was sharing her memories of learning a new skill. She could easily remember the steps she took to learn it, but the name of the person who inspired her? Her memory just failed her, like the flashlight suddenly going dim on that part.6. Memory and IELTS speaking go hand in hand, but it's not always a smooth partnership. It's like dancing with a partner who sometimes steps on your toes. I recall my own IELTS speaking test where I had to talk about a memorable book. I could rememberthe plot and the characters, but the name of the author? It was like my memory tripped and made me stumble in my answer.7. IELTS speaking tests your memory in the strangest ways. Memory is like a wobbly bridge. You're trying to cross it to reach the other side of a great answer. For instance, my neighbor was preparing for IELTS. When he was talking about his memories of festivals, he could remember the fun activities, but the traditional songs they sang? His memory was like that wobbly bridge that just couldn't hold up for that part.8. Memory in IELTS speaking is like a jigsaw puzzle. You have all these pieces of memories, and you need to fit them together to make a coherent story. A study partner of mine was practicing for IELTS. He was talking about his memories of moving to a new city. He could describe the new house well, but when it came to how he made new friends, it was like he had some of the jigsaw pieces missing from his memory.9. IELTS speaking and memory are intertwined. Memory is likea squirrel that sometimes hoards all the important details and other times forgets where it hid them. I had a conversation withsomeone who had just taken an IELTS test. She was talking about her memories of a historical place she visited. She could remember the architecture, but the historical significance? Her memory was like that forgetful squirrel.10. When it comes to IELTS speaking, memory is the key. It's like the magic wand that can make your answers sparkle or make them fizzle out. I've seen so many people struggle with this. One guy was telling his memory of a sports event for IELTS. He could remember the exciting moments during the game, but the name of the opposing team? His memory just let him down, and it was like his magic wand lost its power at that moment. Conclusion: Memory plays a crucial role in IELTS speaking. It can either enhance your performance or be a stumbling block. We need to train our memory and find ways to retrieve those important memories when we need them in the test.。

手工制作小太阳作文英语
手工制作小太阳作文英语Title: Crafting a Miniature Sun。
In our vast universe, the sun stands as a beacon of light and warmth, providing sustenance and energy to all life on Earth. Capturing the essence of this celestial body in a miniature form through handicraft offers not only a creative endeavor but also a profound connection to the cosmos. Let's delve into the process of crafting a miniature sun, exploring the steps involved and the significance behind each.Materials Needed:To embark on this creative journey, gather thefollowing materials:1. Yellow and orange craft paper or cardstock。
2. Scissors。
3. Glue or adhesive。
4. Yellow and orange paint (optional)。
5. Cardboard or foam ball (for the base)。
6. Paintbrush (if painting)。
7. String or wire (for hanging, if desired)。
Step 1: Shaping the Sun。
Begin by cutting out circular shapes from the yellow and orange craft paper or cardstock. These will serve as the layers of the sun. You can vary the sizes slightly to add dimension to your miniature sun.Next, crumple each circular piece gently to create texture and mimic the sun's surface. Don't worry about making them perfect; imperfections add character to the final creation.Step 2: Assembling the Layers。

英语作文照亮别人一定要燃烧自己吗看图写话
英语作文照亮别人一定要燃烧自己吗看图写话全文共10篇示例,供读者参考篇1Title: Let's Shine Bright by Helping Others!Hey guys, do you know that helping others not only makes them happy, but also makes us happy too? It's like giving someone a little bit of sunshine when they are feeling down. But hey, did you know that to light up someone else's world, you don't have to burn yourself out? Let me tell you a cool story about this!Once upon a time, there was a little girl named Lily. Lily loved to help others and make them smile. She would share her toys, help her friends with their homework, and give hugs to anyone who needed one. But one day, Lily started to feel tired because she was using up all her energy helping everyone else.Lily's mom noticed that she was feeling down and asked her what was wrong. Lily told her how she wanted to keep helping others, but she was running out of energy. Her mom smiled and told her, "Sweetie, it's important to take care of yourself too. Youdon't have to burn yourself out to light up someone else's world."Lily realized that she needed to recharge herself in order to keep helping others. So, she started taking breaks, eating healthy food, and getting enough rest. And you know what? Lily found that she had even more energy to help others when she took care of herself too!So remember, my friends, it's important to help others and be a light in their lives. But don't forget to take care of yourself too. You don't have to burn yourself out to shine bright for others. Let's all be like Lily and spread happiness everywhere we go!篇2Lighting up others doesn't mean you have to burn yourself out! Just like the picture shows, you can spread light and warmth to others without losing your own shine. When we help someone or make someone's day brighter, it doesn't mean we have to sacrifice our own happiness orwell-being. We can be a source of light and positivity for others while also taking care of ourselves. It's like the sun shiningbrightly in the sky, giving light and warmth to the earth, but never losing its own radiance. We can share our happiness, kindness, and support with others without depleting our own resources. In fact, helping others can actually make us feel happier and more fulfilled. It's like the more we give, the more we receive in return. So, let's remember that we can be a beacon of light for others without dimming our own glow. Let's spread kindness, love, and positivity wherever we go, and watch as our light shines even brighter. And most importantly, let's always remember to take care of ourselves so that we can continue to be a light for others for a long time to come.篇3Title: Lighting up OthersHey guys, have you ever heard the saying "to light up someone else, you have to burn yourself"? It means that in order to help others, you sometimes have to make sacrifices and put in a lot of effort. Let's take a look at the picture above to understand this better. In the picture, there is a candle that is burning brightly and shedding light all around it. This candle represents a person who is helping others and making a positive impact on their lives. The light that it gives off symbolizes the love, kindness, and support that this person is sharing with those around them. But have you noticed something? As the candle burns and gives off light, it is also slowly melting away. This shows us that when we help others and give of ourselves, it can be draining and we may have to make sacrifices in order to make a difference in someone else's life. So, do we really have to burn ourselves in order to light up others? Well, not necessarily. While it's important to be selfless and help those in need, it's also important to take care of ourselves and make sure that we don't burn out. We can still make a positive impact on others without completely sacrificing ourselves. We can do small things like lending a listening ear, offering a helping hand, or simply being there for someone in need. These small acts of kindness can go a long way in brightening someone else's day without completely burning ourselves out.In conclusion, while it's important to be selfless and help others, we don't always have to burn ourselves in order to lightup someone else. We can make a positive impact on those around us by being kind, caring, and supportive while still taking care of ourselves. Let's remember to be a candle that lights up the world, but also remember to take care of our own flame so that it can continue to shine bright.篇4Once upon a time, there was a little boy named Timmy who always wanted to help others. One day, he saw a picture that said "To light up the world, you must burn yourself first." Timmy thought about this for a moment and wondered if it was really true.Timmy asked his teacher about the picture and she explained that sometimes in order to make a difference in the world, you have to make sacrifices and give up something of your own. Timmy was confused at first, but then he realized that helping others doesn't always mean he has to suffer.Timmy decided to test this theory by helping his friend who was struggling with math homework. He didn't have to give up anything, but he did have to spend some time and effort to help his friend. In the end, his friend understood the math problem and was very grateful to Timmy. From that day on, Timmy learned that you don't always have to sacrifice something in order to help others. Sometimes, all it takes is a little kindness and compassion. Timmy continued to help others in need and became known as the "light" in his community. So, remember, you don't have to burn yourself out to light up someone else's world. Just be kind, caring, and compassionate, and you can make a difference in someone's life.篇5Once upon a time, there was a little boy named Timmy. Timmy loved helping others and making them happy. One day, Timmy saw a picture of a candle lighting up a dark room with the words "To light up others, you must burn yourself." Timmy was confused by this message and wondered if it was true.Timmy decided to ask his teacher, Mrs. Smith, about the meaning of the picture. Mrs. Smith explained to Timmy that sometimes in order to help others, we need to make sacrifices or put in extra effort. She told Timmy that being kind and helpful to others can sometimes mean giving up our own time, energy, or resources. Timmy understood what Mrs. Smith was saying, but he still had doubts. That night, Timmy thought long and hard about the picture and what Mrs. Smith had told him. He realized that even though helping others might require some sacrifice, it doesn't mean we have to completely burn ourselves out. Timmy decided that he could help others in small ways that wouldn't drain him completely. The next day, Timmy saw a classmate who was feeling sad because they didn't have anyone to play with. Instead of ignoring them or pretending not to notice, Timmy went up to his classmate and invited them to join in the game he was playing. The smile on his classmate's face made Timmy feel happy and fulfilled, and he knew that he didn't have to "burn himself" in order to light up someone else's day. From that day on, Timmy continued to help others in small ways, always remembering that it's important to take care of ourselves while also being kind and generous to those around us. Timmy learned that to light up others, you don't have to burn yourself out – you just need to be a shining light in someone else's darkness. And that's exactly what Timmy did, day after day, spreading happiness and warmth wherever he went.篇6Title: Shine for Others Means Burning for Yourself?Hey guys, do you know what it means to shine for others? It means to make someone else’s day a little brighter, a little happier. But does that mean we have to give up something of our own to make others happy? Let’s take a look at the picture above and think about it.In the picture, there is a little candle standing tall and bright, shining its light on the others candles around it. The other candles are dark and not burning at all. It seems like the little candle is burning itself to give light to the others. But is that really the case?I think shining for others doesn’t mean burning yourself out. It means sharing your light with others while still keeping your flame burning. Just like the little candle in the picture, we can shine for others by being kind, helping out, and spreading positivity. We don’t have to sacrifice our own happiness or well-being to make others happy. So, l et’s remember that we can shine for others without losing our own light. We can be kind, generous, and helpful while still taking care of ourselves. Let’s be like the little candle in the picture, spreading light and happiness wherever we go. Let’s shine bright and stay bright! In conclusion, shining for others doesn’t mean burning yourself out. It means sharing your light and warmth with others while still keeping your own flame alive. So, let’s be kind, helpful, and positive, but let’s also remember t o take care of ourselves. Let’s shine bright, my friends! Let’s shine bright!篇7Title: Brighten Others by Burning Yourself?Once upon a time, there was a little boy named Tim. Tim loved helping others and making people happy. One day, Tim heard a saying that said, "In order to light up others, you have to burn yourself first." Tim was confused by this saying. He thought, "Does it mean I have to sacrifice myself in order to help others? That doesn't sound right."To find the answer, Tim decided to ask his teacher, Mr. Smith. Mr. Smith was a very wise man and always had good advice for Tim. Tim showed him the saying and asked for his opinion. Mr. Smith smiled and said, "Tim, lighting up others doesn't mean you have to sacrifice yourself completely. It means spreading kindness and positivity to others, even if it means stepping out of your own comfort zone."Tim was relieved to hear this. He realized that he could brighten someone's day by simply smiling at them, or helping them with their homework. He didn't have to give up everything to make a difference in someone else's life. From that day on, Tim made it his mission to brighten others' days in any way he could. He shared his toys with his classmates, he complimented his friends, and he always lent a listening ear to those who needed it.And you know what? Tim's actions inspired others to do the same. They saw how a little act of kindness could make a big difference in someone's life, and they wanted to spread that joy too.So remember, you don't have to burn yourself to light up others. Just a little spark of kindness can go a long way! Let's all spread positivity and make the world a brighter place together.篇8Sure, here is the essay:Hey guys, have you ever heard the saying "to light up for others, you must burn yourself first"? Well, I saw this picture and it got me thinking about this idea. In the picture, there is a candlelighting up another candle, but in order to do that, the first candle has to burn itself.I think this picture is really interesting because it makes me wonder if we have to give up something in order to help others. Like, do we have to sacrifice our own happiness or well-being to make someone else happy? It's a tough question, but I think the answer is different for everyone. Some people might think that in order to help others, you have to be willing to make sacrifices. Like, maybe you have to give up your own time, energy, or resources to help someone in need. This might mean not doing something fun or important for yourself in order to help someone else. It can be hard, but sometimes it's necessary to make sacrifices to help others. But then again, some people might think that you shouldn't have to burn yourself out in order to light up someone else's life. They might believe that you can still help others without completely sacrificing your own well-being. Like, you can still be a caring and supportive friend or family member without neglecting your own needs. For me, I think it's important to find a balance between taking care of yourself and helping others. It's okay to make some sacrifices to help someone in need, but it's also importantto prioritize your own well-being. Ultimately, I believe that you can light up someone else's life without completely burning yourself out. Just be there for others when they need you, but also remember to take care of yourself too.So yeah, that's what I think about the whole "lighting up for others" thing. What do you guys think? Let me know in the comments!篇9Title: Be the Light for Others, Do We Need to Burn Ourselves Out?Hey guys! Have you ever heard the saying "In order to light up others, do we need to burn ourselves out?" Well, it's a really interesting topic to talk about. Let's dive into it together!First of all, let's take a look at the picture above. It shows a candle that is burning brightly and shining its light on other candles. It symbolizes the idea of lighting up others by sacrificing ourselves. But hey, do we really need to burn ourselves out in order to help others? In my opinion, it's important to help and support others, but it's also crucial to take care of ourselves. We can be a light forothers without burning ourselves out. Just like the sun shines brightly without losing its own light. We can inspire and guide others by being positive, kind, and supportive. We can be a source of strength and motivation for those around us without sacrificing our own well-being.So, let's remember that it's okay to take care of ourselves while helping others. We can be a light for others without losing our own spark. Let's shine bright and spread positivity and kindness wherever we go. Remember, we don't have to burn ourselves out to make a difference in the world. Let's be the light that brightens up the lives of others, while keeping our own flame burning strong.Stay bright, my friends! Let's spread light and love everywhere we go!篇10One day, I saw a picture of a candle lighting up another candle. It made me think - do we have to burn ourselves out to light up others?I talked to my friend about it, and we came up with different ideas. My friend said, "Maybe the candle is just sharing its light with the other candle, without losing its own flame." I thoughtabout it and said, "Maybe it's like helping others without sacrificing yourself completely. It's like sharing your kindness and positivity with others."We both agreed that we can be a source of light for others, without losing our own spark. We can inspire and motivate people around us, while still taking care of ourselves and staying true to who we are.So, we decided to be like the candle in the picture - shining bright and spreading light to others, while keeping our own flame burning strong. We realized that it's important to take care of ourselves too, so we can continue to be a positive influence on those around us.In conclusion, we don't have to burn ourselves out to light up others. We can share our light and positivity with others, while still nurturing our own flame. Let's be like the candle in the picture - shining bright and bringing light to the world around us!。

How to print your digital photosYou would think that printing is easy. You just go to your closest photo shop and give them the memory card and they'll print it for you. Or you could buy a good photo printer (not so expensive these days), plug in the camera and press print.Yes, it sounds pretty easy. But, your digital photos can be truly enhanced through a little bit of work and imagination. From the same file, you can print completely different pictures. You can print this photo of some geese:or, do some work and frame this funny print:You can print this photo from your Toronto vacation:or you can print these two photos, frame them and hang them on the wall: (REMEMBER: the photos below come from the same picture)There's a great level of satisfaction to post your own pictures on the wall. Your friends will ask you where from did you bought that frame on your wall, and you'll proudly say: I did that myself on my last vacation. Also, the vacation memories will be right there on the wall every time you pass by, instead of being in an album on the book shelf. The good news is that doing these small alterations is a very simple task. Everyone can do it.Resolution"How many mega pixels do I really need for my purposes" - is a quite common question. The following table provides an overview of megapixels in relation to common print sizes. A print resolution of 300dpi corresponds to magazine quality. "Acceptable" prints don't require 300dpi but e.g. 2MP will not scale to something like 20x30cm without a severe loss of quality.MegaResolution common print size (~ 300dpi)pixels2 MP 1600x1200 10x13cm / 4x6"3 MP 2048x1536 13x18cm / 5x7"4 MP 2400 x 1600 18x23cm / 6x8"6 MP 3000x2000 20x30cm / 7x10"8 MP 3600x2400 30x40cm / 10x14"If you just want 4x6" pictures and you own a 3 mega pixel or better camera, you could crop a window of 1600x1200 out of the large file coming from your camera, and you would still get a very good quality print. That means that if you have an 8 mega pixel camera, you could print a quarter of your image on a 4x6" and you would still get a very good quality print. This can be very useful if you try to print a portrait from a large picture or if you want to remove some unwanted tree branches, wires or people from a picture.Tools:A good software program for editing pictures is Adobe Photoshop. You can do amazing things with this software. But for minor alterations like the examples above you could use other smaller software applications that you can find in your local "Best-Buy" store. Or if you have one, you can even use the software provided with your camera. My favorite: ACDSee Photo Editor. The ACDSee Pro package is the most complete tool for photo managing and editing.Let's Start:1. CroppingCropping is the simplest operation to be done to a picture. By cropping a picture, you can remove the unwanted details that entered the picture or bring focus on a person or a detail. Here's the original picture:Here is the cropping process in ACDSee Photo EditorHere's the final result:The cropping was used in this case to remove the grass and the stone on the left and also the body of the second tiger on the right. The most important thing to remember when doing the cropping is the aspect ratio of the print that we want. If the final picture is not the correct ratio, the shop will cut some more to fit it in the print, or will leave an unwanted white band on the sides or on the top and bottom. On a 4x6" print, the ratio should be 2/3.2. Adjusting Levels/ColorsThe next step would be to adjust the levels and the colors. Some of the software's (most of them these days), will offer the possibility to do AutoLevels or AutoExposure. Because they are Auto Modes, they work based on algorithms. They may output good results for some pictures but most of the time it will ruin it in my opinion. My recommendation is to do the adjustments manually.ACDSee Photo Editor and most of the software editing programs work with histograms. A histogram is a graphic representation of therange of tones from dark to light in a photo. The representation is done on different channel (Red, Green, Blue, Luminance). For the case of adjusting levels, we'll use the channel Luminance.See below the cropped picture of the tiger with its histogram. After adjusting the Midtones, the picture will look much brighter and clear.See the next steps and how will the original picture turn like the picturebelow at:Other information on the website:-find out how you can get over 100 FREE prints of your own photography-find out how you can sell your digital pictures。
