Device drivers are available for macOS 10.x and 11.x.Advanced NVMe RAID EngineThe SSD7105’s advanced NVMe RAID engine is capable of supporting bootable RAID 0, 1, 10, arrays and single-drives, including mixed configurations of single-disks and arrays, multiple arrays, multiple boot volumes, and boot + storage configurations.RAID 0 (Striping) - Also known as a “stripe” array, this mode delivers Maximum Performance and capacity by linking multiple NVMe SSD's together to act as a single storage unit.RAID 1 (Mirroring) - This mode creates a hidden duplicate of the target SSD, and is ideal for applications that require an extra layer of data security.RAID 10 (Security & Speed) - RAID 10 offers the best of both worlds. Two RAID 1 arrays are striped together to maximize performance. RAID 10 is capable of delivering read performance on par with RAID 0, and is superior to RAID 5 for NVMe applications. Unlike RAID 5, RAID 10 doesn’t necessitate additional parity related write operations, which reduce the DWPD/TBW life span of NVMe SSDs.Ultra-Quiet Active Cooling Solution with Full Fan ControlThe SSD7105’s advanced cooling system combines a full-length anodized aluminum heat sink with an ultra-durable, near-silent fan, and high-conductivity thermal pad. This compact, ultra- efficient solution rapidly transfers waste heat away from critical NVMe and controller componentry, without introducing unwanted distraction into your work environment.Full Fan Control – By default, the SSD7105’s cooling system will automatically adjust fan speed to ensure NVMe media operates within their recommended temperature thresholds. However, advanced administrators can opt for full manual control. The WebGUI management suite provides 3 selectable speed settings, including an option to fully disable the fan. This feature is ideal for media and design applications that require low-noise or silent working environments, and utilize platforms already equipped with robust cooling systems.Thunderbolt™ Compliant NVMe RAID SolutionThe SSD7105 is fully Thunderbolt™ compliant, and is compatible with PCIe expansion chassis capable of hosting a standard full-height, full-length PCIe device such as the RocketStor 6661A. This enables the SSD7105 to host data-only SSD and RAID configurations for Mac platforms with Thunderbolt™ 3 connectivity.Comprehensive Monitoring & Management SuiteHighPoint believes that you should not need a professional IT background to configure, monitor and maintain NVMe and RAID storage configurations. Two comprehensive user interfaces are included with each SSD7105 RAID controller. The WebGUI is a simple, intuitive graphical user interface designed to work with all modern Web Browsers. It is equipped with Wizard-like quick configuration menus as well as a suite of advanced tools for expert administrators. The CLI (Command Line Interface) is ideal for seasoned administrators or platforms that do not utilize graphical operating systems. The WebGUI’s SHI Feature (Storage Health Inspector) allows administrators to instantly check the operating status of NVMe SSDs in real-time, such as temperature, voltage and TBW (Total Bytes Written). TBW tracking in particular, is essential for maintaining the long-term health of NVMe storage configurations. NVMe media have finite write capability; once the TBW threshold has been reached, the NVMe SSD should be replaced to avoid the risk of a write failure.Event & Error Logging with Email Notification: Each interface includes automated event logging with configurable Email Event NotificationIntelligent 1-Click Self-Diagnostic Solution: HighPoint’s Web-based graphical management suite (WebGUI) now includes a host of automated diagnostic tools designed to streamline the troubleshooting process, even for novice administrators. Setting the Number of Cores per CPU in a Virtual Machine: A How-to GuideWhen creating virtual machines, you should configure processor settings for them. With hardware virtualization, you can select the number of virtual processors for a virtual machine and set the number of sockets and processor cores. How many cores per CPU should you select for optimal performance? Which configuration is better: setting fewer processors with more CPU cores or setting more processors with fewer CPU cores? This blog post explains the main principles of processor configuration for VMware virtual machines. TerminologyFirst of all, let’s go over the definitions of the terms you should know when configuring CPU settings for to help you understand the working principle. Knowing what each term means allows you to avoid confusion about the number of cores per CPU, CPU cores per socket, and the number of CPU cores vs speed.A CPU Socket is a physical connector on the motherboard to which a single physical CPU is connected. A motherboard has at least one CPU socket. Server motherboards usually have multiple CPU sockets that support multiple multicore processors. CPU sockets are standardized for different processor series. Intel and AMD use different CPU sockets for their processor families.A CPU (central processing unit, microprocessor chip, or processor) is a computer component. It is the electronic circuitry with transistors that is connected to a socket. A CPU executes instructions to perform calculations, run applications, and complete tasks. When the clock speed of processors came close to the heat barrier, manufacturers changed the architecture of processors and started producing processors with multiple CPU cores. To avoid confusion between physical processors and logical processors or processor cores, some vendors refer to a physical processor as a socket.A CPU core is the part of a processor containing the L1 cache. The CPU core performs computational tasks independently without interacting with other cores and external components of a “big” processor that are shared among cores. Basically, a core can be considered as a small processor built into the main processor that is connected to a socket. Applications should support parallel computations to use multicore processors rationally.Hyper-threading is a technology developed by Intel engineers to bring parallel computation to processors that have one processor core. The debut of hyper-threading was in 2002 when the Pentium 4 HT processor was released and positioned for desktop computers. An operating system detects a single-core processor with hyper-threading as a processor with two logical cores (not physical cores). Similarly, a four-core processor with hyper-threading appears to an OS as a processor with 8 cores. The more threads run on each core, the more tasks can be done in parallel. Modern Intel processors have both multiple cores and hyper-threading. Hyper-threading is usually enabled by default and can be enabled or disabled in BIOS. AMD simultaneous multi-threading (SMT) is the analog of hyper-threading for AMD processors.A vCPU is a virtual processor that is configured as a virtual device in the virtual hardware settings of a VM. A virtual processor can be configured to use multiple CPU cores. A vCPU is connected to a virtual socket.CPU overcommitment is the situation when you provision more logical processors (CPU cores) of a physical host to VMs residing on the host than the total number of logical processors on the host.NUMA (non-uniform memory access) is a computer memory design used in multiprocessor computers. The idea is to provide separate memory for each processor (unlike UMA, where all processors access shared memory through a bus). At the same time, a processor can access memory that belongs to other processors by using a shared bus (all processors access all memory on the computer). A CPU has a performance advantage of accessing own local memory faster than other memory on a multiprocessor computer. These basic architectures are mixed in modern multiprocessor computers. Processors are grouped on a multicore CPU package or node. Processors that belong to the same node share access to memory modules as with the UMA architecture. Also, processors can access memory from the remote node via a shared interconnect. Processors do so for the NUMA architecture but with slower performance. This memory access is performed through the CPU that owns that memory rather than directly.NUMA nodes are CPU/Memory couples that consist of a CPU socket and the closest memory modules. NUMA is usually configured in BIOS as the node interleaving or interleaved memory setting. An example. An ESXi host has two sockets (two CPUs) and 256 GB of RAM. Each CPU has 6 processor cores. This server contains two NUMA nodes. Each NUMA node has 1 CPU socket (one CPU), 6 Cores, and 128 GB of RAM.always tries to allocate memory for a VM from a native (home) NUMA node. A home node can be changed automatically if there are changes in VM loads and ESXi server loads.Virtual NUMA (vNUMA) is the analog of NUMA for VMware virtual machines. A vNUMA consumes hardware resources of more than one physical NUMA node to provide optimal performance. The vNUMA technology exposes the NUMA topology to a guest operating system. As a result, the guest OS is aware of the underlying NUMA topology for the most efficient use. The virtual hardware version of a VM must be 8 or higher to use vNUMA. Handling of vNUMA was significantly improved in VMware vSphere 6.5, and this feature is no longer controlled by the CPU cores per socket value in the VM configuration. By default, vNUMA is enabled for VMs that have more than 8 logical processors (vCPUs). You can enable vNUMA manually for a VM by editing the VMX configuration file of the VM and adding theline numa.vcpu.min=X, where X is the number of vCPUs for the virtual machine.CalculationsLet’s find out how to calculate the number of physical CPU cores, logical CPU cores, and other parameters on a server. The total number of physical CPU cores on a host machine is calculated with the formula:(The number of Processor Sockets) x (The number of cores/processor) = The number of physical processor cores*Processor sockets only with installed processors must be considered. If hyper-threading is supported, calculate the number of logical processor cores by using the formula:(The number of physical processor cores) x (2 threads/physical processor) = the number of logical processorsFinally, use a single formula to calculate available processor resources that can be assigned to VMs:(CPU sockets) x (CPU cores) x (threads)For example, if you have a server with two processors with each having 4 cores and supporting hyper-threading, then the total number of logical processors that can be assigned to VMs is2(CPUs) x 4(cores) x 2(HT) = 16 logical processorsOne logical processor can be assigned as one processor or one CPU core for a VM in VM settings. As for virtual machines, due to hardware emulation features, they can use multiple processors and CPU cores in their configuration for operation. One physical CPU core can be configured as a virtual CPU or a virtual CPU core for a VM.The total amount of clock cycles available for a VM is calculated as:(The number of logical sockets) x (The clock speed of the CPU)For example, if you configure a VM to use 2 vCPUs with 2 cores when you have a physical processor whose clock speed is 3.0 GHz, then the total clock speed is 2x2x3=12 GHz. If CPU overcommitment is used on an ESXi host, the available frequency for a VM can be less than calculated if VMs perform CPU-intensive tasks.LimitationsThe maximum number of virtual processor sockets assigned to a VM is 128. If you want to assign more than 128 virtual processors, configure a VM to use multicore processors. The maximum number of processor cores that can be assigned to a single VM is 768 in vSphere 7.0 Update 1. A virtual machine cannot use more CPU cores than the number of logical processor cores on a physical machine.CPU hot add. If a VM has 128 vCPUs or less than 128 vCPUs, then you cannot use the CPU hot add feature for this VM and edit the CPU configuration of a VM while a VM is in the running state.OS CPU restrictions. If an operating system has a limit on the number of processors, and you assign more virtual processors for a VM, the additional processors are not identified and used by a guest OS. Limits can be caused by OS technical design and OS licensing restrictions. Note that there are operating systems that are licensed per-socket and per CPU core (for example, ).CPU support limits for some operating systems:Windows 10 Pro – 2 CPUsWindows 10 Home – 1 CPUWindows 10 Workstation – 4 CPUsWindows Server 2019 Standard/Datacenter – 64 CPUsWindows XP Pro x64 – 2 CPUsWindows 7 Pro/Ultimate/Enterprise - 2 CPUsWindows Server 2003 Datacenter – 64 CPUsConfiguration RecommendationsFor older vSphere versions, I recommend using sockets over cores in VM configuration. At first, you might not see a significant difference in CPU sockets or CPU cores in VM configuration for VM performance. Be aware of some configuration features. Remember about NUMA and vNUMA when you consider setting multiple virtual processors (sockets) for a VM to have optimal performance. If vNUMA is not configured automatically, mirror the NUMA topology of a physical server. Here are some recommendations for VMs in VMware vSphere 6.5 and later:When you define the number of logical processors (vCPUs) for a VM, prefer the cores-per-socket configuration. Continue until the count exceeds the number of CPU cores on a single NUMA node on the ESXi server. Use the same logic until you exceed the amount of memory that is available on a single NUMA node of your physical ESXi server.Sometimes, the number of logical processors for your VM configuration is more than the number of physical CPU cores on a single NUMA node, or the amount of RAM is higher than the total amount of memory available for a single NUMA node. Consider dividing the count of logical processors (vCPUs) across the minimum number of NUMA nodes for optimal performance.Don’t set an odd number of vCPUs if the CPU count or amount of memory exceeds the number of CPU cores. The same applies in case memory exceeds the amount of memory for a single NUMA node on a physical server.Don’t create a VM that has a number of vCPUs larger than the count of physical processor cores on your physical host.If you cannot disable vNUMA due to your requirements, don’t enable the vCPU Hot-Add feature. If vNUMA is enabled in vSphere prior to version 6.5, and you have defined the number of logical processors (vCPUs) for a VM, select the number of virtual sockets for a VM while keeping the cores-per-socket amount equal to 1 (that is the default value). This is because the one-core-per-socket configuration enables vNUMA to select the best vNUMA topology to the guest OS automatically. This automatic configuration is optimal on the underlying physical topology of the server. If vNUMA is enabled, and you’re using the same number of logical processors (vCPUs) but increase the number of virtual CPU cores and reduce the number of virtual sockets by the same amount, then vNUMA cannot set the best NUMA configuration for a VM. As a result, VM performance is affected and can degrade. If a guest operating system and other software installed on a VM are licensed on a per-processor basis, configure a VM to use fewer processors with more CPU cores. For example, Windows Server 2012 R2 is licensed per socket, and Windows Server 2016 is licensed on a per-core basis. If you use CPU overcommitment in the configuration of your VMware virtual machines, keep in mind these values: 1:1 to 3:1 – There should be no problems in running VMs3:1 to 5:1 – Performance degradation is observed6:1 – Prepare for problems caused by significant performance degradationCPU overcommitment with normal values can be used in test and dev environments without risks.Configuration of VMs on ESXi HostsFirst of all, determine how many logical processors (Total number of CPUs) of your physical host are needed for a virtual machine for proper work with sufficient performance. Then define how many virtual sockets with processors (Number of Sockets in vSphere Client) and how many CPU cores (Cores per Socket) you should set for a VM keeping in mind previous recommendations and limitations. The table below can help you select the needed configuration. If you need to assign more than 8 logical processors for a VM, the logic remains the same. To calculate the number of logical CPUs in , multiply the number of sockets by the number of cores. For example, if you need to configure a VM to use 2-processor sockets, each has 2 CPU cores, then the total number of logical CPUs is 2*2=4. It means that you should select 4 CPUs in the virtual hardware options of the VM in vSphere Client to apply this configuration.Let me explain how to configure CPU options for a VM in VMware vSphere Client. Enter the IP address of your in a web browser, and open VMware vSphere Client. In the navigator, open Hosts and Clusters, and select the needed virtual machine that you want to configure. Make sure that the VM is powered off to be able to change CPU configuration.Right-click the VM, and in the context menu, hit Edit Settings to open virtual machine settings.Expand the CPU section in the Virtual Hardware tab of the Edit Settings window.CPU. Click the drop-down menu in the CPU string, and select the total number of needed logical processors for this VM. In this example, Iselect 4 logical processors for the Ubuntu VM (blog-Ubuntu1).Cores per Socket. In this string, click the drop-down menu, and select the needed number of cores for each virtual socket (processor). CPU Hot Plug. If you want to use this feature, select the Enable CPU Hot Add checkbox. Remember limitations and requirements. Reservation. Select the guaranteed minimum allocation of CPU clock speed (frequency, MHz, or GHz) for a virtual machine on an ESXi host or cluster.Limit. Select the maximum CPU clock speed for a VM processor. This frequency is the maximum frequency for a virtual machine, even if this VM is the only VM running on the ESXi host or cluster with more free processor resources. The set limit is true for all virtual processors of a VM. If a VM has 2 single-core processors, and the limit is 1000 MHz, then both virtual processors work with a total clock speed of one million cycles per second (500 MHz for each core).Shares. This parameter defines the priority of resource consumption by virtual machines (Low, Normal, High, Custom) on an ESXi host or resource pool. Unlike Reservation and Limit parameters, the Shares parameter is applied for a VM only if there is a lack of CPU resources within an ESXi host, resource pool, or DRS cluster.Available options for the Shares parameter:Low – 500 shares per a virtual processorNormal - 1000 shares per a virtual processorHigh - 2000 shares per a virtual processorCustom – set a custom valueThe higher the Shares value is, the higher the amount of CPU resources provisioned for a VM within an ESXi host or a resource pool. Hardware virtualization. Select this checkbox to enable . This option is useful if you want to run a VM inside a VM for testing or educational purposes.Performance counters. This feature is used to allow an application installed within the virtual machine to be debugged and optimized after measuring CPU performance.Scheduling Affinity. This option is used to assign a VM to a specific processor. The entered value can be like this: “0, 2, 4-7”.I/O MMU. This feature allows VMs to have direct access to hardware input/output devices such as storage controllers, network cards, graphic cards (rather than using emulated or paravirtualized devices). I/O MMU is also called Intel Virtualization Technology for Directed I/O (Intel VT-d) and AMD I/O Virtualization (AMD-V). I/O MMU is disabled by default. Using this option is deprecated in vSphere 7.0. If I/O MMU is enabled for a VM, the VM cannot be migrated with and is not compatible with snapshots, memory overcommit, suspended VM state, physical NIC sharing, and .If you use a standalone ESXi host and use VMware Host Client to configure VMs in a web browser, the configuration principle is the same as for VMware vSphere Client. If you connect to vCenter Server or ESXi host in and open VM settings of a vSphere VM, you can edit the basic configuration of virtual processors. Click VM > Settings, select the Hardware tab, and click Processors. On the following screenshot, you see processor configuration for the same Ubuntu VM that was configured before in vSphere Client. In the graphical user interface (GUI) of VMware Workstation, you should select the number of virtual processors (sockets) and the number of cores per processor. The number of total processor cores (logical cores of physical processors on an ESXi host or cluster) is calculated and displayed below automatically. In the interface of vSphere Client, you set the number of total processor cores (the CPUs option), select the number of cores per processor, and then the number of virtual sockets is calculated and displayed.Configuring VM Processors in PowerCLIIf you prefer using the command-line interface to configure components of VMware vSphere, use to edit the CPU configuration of VMs. Let’s find out how to edit VM CPU configuration for a VM which name is Ubuntu 19 in Power CLI. The commands are used for VMs that are powered off.To configure a VM to use two single-core virtual processors (two virtual sockets are used), use the command:get-VM -name Ubuntu19 | set-VM -NumCpu 2Enter another number if you want to set another number of processors (sockets) to a VM.In the following example, you see how to configure a VM to use two dual-core virtual processors (2 sockets are used):$VM=Get-VM -Name Ubuntu19$VMSpec=New-Object -Type VMware.Vim.VirtualMachineConfigSpec -Property @{ "NumCoresPerSocket" = 2}$VM.ExtensionData.ReconfigVM_Task($VMSpec)$VM | Set-VM -NumCPU 2Once a new CPU configuration is applied to the virtual machine, this configuration is saved in the VMX configuration file of the VM. In my case, I check the Ubuntu19.vmx file located in the VM directory on the datastore (/vmfs/volumes/datastore2/Ubuntu19/). Lines with new CPU configuration are located at the end of the VMX file.numvcpus = "2"cpuid.coresPerSocket = "2"If you need to reduce the number of processors (sockets) for a VM, use the same command as shown before with less quantity. For example, to set one processor (socket) for a VM, use this command:get-VM -name Ubuntu19 | set-VM -NumCpu 1The main advantage of using Power CLI is the ability to configure multiple VMs in bulk. is important and convenient if the number of virtual machines to configure is high. Use VMware cmdlets and syntax of Microsoft PowerShell to create scripts.ConclusionThis blog post has covered the configuration of virtual processors for VMware vSphere VMs. Virtual processors for virtual machines are configured in VMware vSphere Client and in Power CLI. The performance of applications running on a VM depends on the correct CPU and memory configuration. In VMware vSphere 6.5 and later versions, set more cores in CPU for virtual machines and use the CPU cores per socket approach. If you use vSphere versions older than vSphere 6.5, configure the number of sockets without increasing the number of CPU cores for a VM due to different behavior of vNUMA in newer and older vSphere versions. Take into account the licensing model of software you need to install on a VM. If the software is licensed on using a per CPU model, configure more cores per CPU in VM settings. When using virtual machines in VMware vSphere, don’t forget about . Use NAKIVO Backup & Replication to back up your virtual machines, including VMs that have multiple cores per CPU. Regular backup helps you protect your data and recover the data in case of a .5(100%)4votes。

QAM is a widely used multilevel modulation technique, with a variety of applications in data radio communication systems. Most existing implementations of QAM-based systems use high levels of modulation in order to meet the high data rate constraints of emerging applications. This work presents the architecture of a highly parallel QAM modulator, using MPSoC-based design flow and design methodology, which offers multirate modulation. The proposed MPSoC architecture is modular and provides dynamic reconfiguration of the QAM utilizing on-chip interconnection networks, offering high data rates(more than1 Gbps),even at low modulation levels(16-QAM).Furthermore,the proposed QAM implementation integrates a hardware-based resource allocation algorithm that can provide better throughput and fault tolerance, depending on the on-chip interconnection network congestion and run-time faults.Preliminary results from this work have been published in the Proceedings of the18th IEEE/IFIP International Conference on VLSI and System-on-Chip(VLSI-SoC2010).The current version of the work includes a detailed description of the proposed system architecture, extends the results significantly using more test cases, and investigates the impact of various design parameters.Furthermore, this work investigates the use of the hardware resource allocation algorithm as a graceful degradation mechanism, providing simulation results about the performance of the QAM in the presence of faulty components.Quadrature Amplitude Modulation(QAM)is a popular modulation scheme, widely used in various communication protocols such as Wi-Fi and Digital Video Broadcasting(DVB).The architecture of a digital QAM modulator/demodulator is typically constrained by several, often conflicting, requirements.Such requirements may include demanding throughput, high immunity to noise, flexibility for various communication standards, and low on-chip power. The majority of existing QAM implementations follow a sequential implementation approach and rely on high modulation levels in order to meet the emerging high data rate constraints. These techniques, however, are vulnerable to noise at a given transmission power, which reduces the reliable communication distance. The problem is addressed by increasing the number of modulators in a system, through emerging Software-Defined Radio (SDR)systems, which are mapped on MPSoCs in an effort to boost parallelism. These works, however, treat the QAM modulator as an individual system task, whereas it is a task that can further be optimized and designed with further parallelism in order to achieve high data rates, even at low modulation levels.Designing the QAM modulator in a parallel manner can be beneficial in many ways.Firstly, the resulting parallel streams(modulated)can be combined at the output, resulting in a system whose majority of logic runs at lower clock frequencies, while allowing for high throughput even at low modulation levels. This is particularly important as lower modulation levels are less susceptible to multipath distortion, provide power-efficiency and achieve low bit error rate(BER).Furthermore,a parallel modulation architecture can benefit multiple-input multiple-output(MIMO)communication systems, where information is sent and received over two or more antennas often shared among many ing multiple antennas at both transmitter and receiver offers significant capacity enhancement on many modern applications, including IEEE802.11n,3GPP LTE,and mobile WiMAX systems, providing increased throughput at the same channel bandwidth and transmit power.Inorder to achieve the benefit of MIMO systems, appropriate design aspects on the modulation and demodulation architectures have to be taken into consideration. It is obvious that transmitter architectures with multiple output ports, and the more complicated receiver architectures with multiple input ports, are mainly required. However, the demodulation architecture is beyond the scope of this work and is part of future work. This work presents an MPSoC implementation of the QAM modulator that can provide a modular and reconfigurable architecture to facilitate integration of the different processing units involved in QAM modulation. The work attempts to investigate how the performance of a sequential QAM modulator can be improved,by exploiting parallelism in two forms:first by developing a simple, pipelined version of the conventional QAM modulator, and second, by using design methodologies employed in present-day MPSoCs in order to map multiple QAM modulators on an underlying MPSoC interconnected via packet-based network-on-chip (NoC).Furthermore, this work presents a hardware-based resource allocation algorithm, enabling the system to further gain performance through dynamic load balancing. The resource allocation algorithm can also act as a graceful degradation mechanism, limiting the influence of run-time faults on the average system throughput.Additionally, the proposed MPSoC-based system can adopt variable data rates and protocols simultaneously, taking advantage of resource sharing mechanisms. The proposed system architecture was simulated using a high-level simulator and implemented/evaluated on an FPGA platform. Moreover, although this work currently targets QAM-based modulation scenarios, the methodology and reconfiguration mechanisms can target QAM-based demodulation scenarios as well. However, the design and implementation of an MPSoC-based demodulator was left as future work. While an MPSoC implementation of the QAM modulator is beneficial in terms of throughput, there are overheads associated with the on-chip network. As such, the MPSoC-based modulator was compared to a straightforward implementation featuring multiple QAM modulators,in an effort to identify the conditions that favor the MPSoC implementation. Comparison was carried out under variable incoming rates, system configurations and fault conditions, and simulation results showed on average double throughput rates during normal operation and~25%less throughput degradation at the presence of faulty components,at the cost of approximately35%more area, obtained from an FPGA implementation and synthesis results. The hardware overheads, which stem from the NoC and the resource allocation algorithm, are well within the typical values for NoC-based systems and are adequately balanced by the high throughput rates obtained. Most of the existing hardware implementations involving QAM modulation/demodulation follow a sequential approach and simply consider the QAM as an individual module. There has been limited design exploration, and most works allow limited reconfiguration, offering inadequate data rates when using low modulation levels. The latter has been addressed through emerging SDR implementations mapped on MPSoCs,that also treat the QAM modulation as an individual system task, integrated as part of the system, rather than focusing on optimizing the performance of the modulator.Works inuse a specific modulation type;they can, however,be extended to use higher modulation levels in order toincrease the resulting data rate.Higher modulation levels, though, involve more divisions of both amplitude and phase and can potentially introduce decoding errors at the receiver,as the symbols are very close together(for a given transmission power level)and one level of amplitude may be confused(due to the effect of noise)with a higher level, thus, distorting the received signal. In order to avoid this,it is necessary to allow for wide margins, and this can be done by increasing the available amplitude range through power amplification of the RF signal at the transmitter(to effectively spread the symbols out more);otherwise, data bits may be decoded incorrectly at the receiver, resulting in increased bit error rate(BER). However, increasing the amplitude range will operate the RF amplifiers well within their nonlinear(compression)region causing distortion.Alternative QAM implementations try to avoid the use of multipliers and sine/cosine memories,by using the CORDIC algorithm, however, still follow a sequential approach.Software-based solutions lie in designing SDR systems mapped on general purpose processors and/or digital signal processors(DSPs),and the QAM modulator is usually considered as a system task,to be scheduled on an available processing unit.Works inutilize the MPSoC design methodology to implement SDR systems, treating the modulator as an individual system task. Results in show that the problem with this approach is that several competing tasks running in parallel with QAM may hurt the performance of the modulation, making this approach inadequate for demanding wireless communications in terms of throughput and energy efficiency.Another particular issue, raised in,is the efficiency of the allocation algorithm. The allocation algorithm is implemented on a processor, which makes allocation slow. Moreover, the policies used to allocate tasks(random allocation and distance-based allocation)to processors may lead to on-chip contention and unbalanced loads at each processor, since the utilization of each processor is not taken into account. In,a hardware unit called CoreManager for run-time scheduling of tasks is used, which aims in speeding up the allocation algorithm. The conclusions stemming from motivate the use of exporting more tasks such as reconfiguration and resource allocation in hardware rather than using software running on dedicated CPUs,in an effort to reduce power consumption and improve the flexibility of the system. This work presents a reconfigurable QAM modulator using MPSoC design methodologies and an on-chip network, with an integrated hardware resource allocation mechanism for dynamic reconfiguration. The allocation algorithm takes into consideration not only the distance between partitioned blocks(hop count)but also the utilization of each block,in attempt to make the proposed MPSoC-based QAM modulator able to achieve robust performance under different incoming rates of data streams and different modulation levels. Moreover, the allocation algorithm inherently acts as a graceful degradation mechanism, limiting the influence of run-time faults on the average system throughput.we used MPSoC design methodologies to map the QAM modulator onto an MPSoC architecture, which uses an on-chip,packet-based NoC.This allows a modular, "plug-and-play"approach that permits the integration of heterogeneous processing elements, in an attempt to create a reconfigurable QAM modulator.By partitioning the QAM modulator into different stand-alone tasks mapped on Processing Elements(PEs),weown SURF.This would require a context-addressable memory search and would expand the hardware logic of each sender PE's NIRA.Since one of our objectives is scalability,we integrated the hop count inside each destination PE's packet. The source PE polls its host NI for incoming control packets, which are stored in an internal FIFO queue.During each interval T,when the source PE receives the first control packet,a second timer is activatedfor a specified number of clock cycles,W.When this timer expires, the polling is halted and a heuristic algorithm based on the received conditions is run,in order to decide the next destination PE.In the case where a control packet is not received from a source PE in the specified time interval W,this PE is not included in the algorithm. This is a key feature of the proposed MPSoC-based QAM modulator;at extremely loaded conditions,it attempts to maintain a stable data rate by finding alternative PEs which are less busy.QAM是一种广泛应用的多级调制技术,在数据无线电通信系统中应用广泛。
Essay on Market Failure
MARKET FAILUREMarket failure occurs when a freely functioning market fails to provide an efficient or optimal allocation of resources. When the market fails, economic or social welfare may not be maximized. The main causes of market failure are as follows: ▪Imperfect competition - Market power is abused where monopolies exert substantial influence over price or output.▪Externalities - The consumption of a good may exert impacts on outsiders not directly involved in the consumption. The effects could be positive or negative.▪Public goods - They cannot be left to the market because of their non-excludable and non-rivalry nature.▪Incomplete information or uncertainty.PROVISION OF ROADSRoads, when uncongested, are a non-rival good. The characteristic of a non-rival good is that the marginal cost of an additional user is zero. With that in mind, a competitive solution requires the price of the road to be zero. While road infrastructure investment involves a huge amount of capital, there is no revenue from toll fees to cover the costs. Any profit maximizing producer would not provide the good. Hence there is no efficient allocation of the good in market, and this is market failure. If the price of using the road is zero, there is also the argument that the road is non-excludable, or the cost of exclusion is too high to implement. It would lead to the tragedy of the commons because the self-interest behaviour of individual conflict with the optimal solution for the group as a whole. For roads, the result is congestion. The use of roads would be far from optimal. Hence, the market fails. If roads are left for private provision, there needs to be an incentive for a profit-maximizing producer to enter the market and produce the good. It essentially requires charging a price for road use. Road pricing will discourage use, resulting in excess capacity. Again it is market failure. All these courses of events suggest market failure of the provision of roads. Roads are essentially a form of public good. Hence, market cannot be left to determine the optimal quantity and quality of road use. The government steps in to perform an allocative role in order to achieve maximization of the common interest of all members of the community. Roads are therefore provided by the government for collective consumption and the government finances road infrastructure and road use through general taxation.PROVISION OF POSTAL DELIVERYThe nature of the postal delivery service requires that the delivery agent provides an extensive network of service such that everyone within the network is entitled to benefit from the postal service. On a national level, postal delivery service ought to be provided for every member of every household in order to uphold equity. In the past, capital involvement and input requirements are high for the postal service to cover a wide enough network for a reasonable level of service. Once a network of service is established, there is decreasing long run average cost and increasing returns to scale, resulting in imperfect competition. Conditions as such make the postal delivery market a monopoly or an oligopoly. Market dominance in such a case could lead to under production in the sense that the delivery agent would want to reduce expenses by serving a less comprehensive network. The monopoly might also exploit the market by charging higher prices than that under the condition of competition, in order to earn higher profits at the expense of allocative efficiency. Government intervention hence steps in to correct the market failure. The government would want to avoid social exclusion and uphold equity by providing postal delivery service in the form of a state-owned monopoly. There are statutory regulations to ensure that an equitable postal service is provided to everyone at an equitable price. However, the conditions resulting in a natural monopoly of postal delivery has changed over the years. New technological advancement and lower transaction costs have enabled easier entry into the market to result in competitive situation. In the UK, for example, Royal Mail is no longer a statutory monopoly. The Government is now applying regulations to introduce fresh competition in the postal delivery market, thereby achieving market liberalization.PROVISION OF HEALTH CAREHealth care is an example of a publicly provided private good. The main reason why it needs to be provided by the public is that it is a merit good. Consumption of merit good can generate positive externalities where the collective social benefits would exceed the individual benefits. A merit good would not be sufficiently provided for everyone to take advantage of the benefits. It would likely be underprovided in a free market system because the market only concerns about private costs and benefits without considering the positive externalities and the collective social benefits at large. As externalities exist, the market fails. In the case of health care provision, if left to the free market, the costs of health care would likely to deter part of the population from receiving health care services. This would result in a social gap with only the wealthier ones being able to take advantage of the luxury of health care. The limited amount of health care services would also result in long lists of patients waiting for their required treatments. This is undesirable to society at large because the productivity of society is hindered if members of the community consistently cannot work at a normal productivity level or frequently take sick leaves. In the case of contagious diseases, the outcome can be disastrous if treatment is prolonged and the disease becomes widespread across the community. On the other hand, if health care is provided by the state, the government can perform an allocative role to achieve efficient and equitable provision of health service. As everyone is entitled to health service, social exclusion is avoided and better control of the wellbeing of the population can be maintained. There would also be shorter waiting lists for patients in need. As a result, higher productivity of society can be expected.。

Introduction to the operating system of the new technology Abstract:the Operating System (Operating System, referred to as OS) is an important part of a computer System is an important part of the System software, it is responsible for managing the hardware and software resources of the computer System and the working process of the entire computer coordination between System components, systems and between users and the relationship between the user and the user. With the appearance of new technology of the operating system functions on the rise. Operating system as a standard suite must satisfy the needs of users as much as possible, so the system is expanding, function of increasing, and gradually formed from the development tools to system tools and applications of a platform environment. To meet the needs of users. In this paper, in view of the operating system in the core position in the development of computer and technological change has made an analysis of the function of computer operating system, development and classification of simple analysis and elaborationKey words: computer operating system, development, new technology Operating system is to manage all the computer system hardware resources include software and data resources; Control program is running; Improve the man-machine interface; Provide support for other application software, etc., all the computer system resourcesto maximize the role, to provide users with convenient, efficient, friendly service interface. The operating system is a management computer hardware and software resources program, is also the kernel of the computer system and the cornerstone. Operating system have such as management and configuration memory, decided to system resources supply and demand of priorities, control input and output devices, file system and other basic network operation and management affairs. Operating system is to manage all the computer system hardware resources include software and data resources; Control program is running; Improve the man-machine interface; Provide support for other application software, etc., all the computer system resources to maximize the role, to provide users with convenient, efficient, friendly service interface. Operating system is a huge management control procedures, including roughly five aspects of management functions, processes and processor management, operation management, storage management, equipment management, file management. At present the common operating system on microcomputer DOS, OS / 2, UNIX, XENIX, LINUX, Windows, Netware, etc. But all of the operating system with concurrency, sharing, four basic characteristics of virtual property and uncertainty. At present there are many different kinds of operating system, it is difficultto use a single standard unified classification. Divided according to the application field, can be divided into the desktop operating system, server operating system, the host operating system, embedded operating system.1.The basic introduction of the operating system(1)The features of the operating systemManagement of computer system hardware, software, data and other resources, as far as possible to reduce the work of the artificial allocation of resources and people to the machine's intervention, the computer automatically work efficiency into full play.Coordinate the relationship between and in the process of using various resources, make the computer's resources use reasonable scheduling, both low and high speed devices running with each other. To provide users with use of a computer system environment, easy to use parts of a computer system or function. Operating system, through its own procedures to by all the resources of the computer system provides the function of the abstract, the function of the formation and the equivalent of the operating system, and image, provide users with convenient to use the computer.(2)The development of the operating systemOperating system originally intended to provide a simple sorting ability to work, after updating for auxiliary more complex hardwarefacilities and gradual evolution.Starting from the first batch mode, also come time sharing mechanism, in the era of multiprocessor comes, the operating system also will add a multiprocessor coordination function, even the coordination function of distributed systems. The evolution of the other aspects also like this.On the other hand, on a personal computer, personal computer operating system of the road, following the growth of the big computer is becoming more and more complex in hardware, powerful, and practice in the past only large computer functions that it step by step.Manual operation stage. At this stage of the computer, the main components is tube, speed slow, no software, no operating system. User directly using a machine language program, hands-on completely manual operation, the first will be prepared machine program tape into the input, and then start the machine input the program and data into a computer, and then through the switch to start the program running and computing, after the completion of the printer output. The user must be very professional and technical personnel to achieve control of the computer.Batch processing stage. Due to the mid - 1950 - s, the main components replaced by the transistor computer, running speed hadthe very big enhancement, the software also began to develop rapidly, appeared in the early of the operating system, it is the early users to submit the application software for management and monitoring program of the batch.Multiprogramming system phase. As the medium and small-scale integrated circuit widely application in computer systems, the CPU speed is greatly increased, in order to improve the utilization rate of CPU and multiprogramming technology is introduced, and the special support multiprogramming hardware organization, during this period, in order to further improve the efficiency of CPU utilization, a multichannel batch system, time-sharing system, etc., to produce more powerful regulatory process, and quickly developed into an important branch of computer science, is the operating system. Collectively known as the traditional operating system.Modern operating systems. Large-scale, the rapid development of vlsi rapidly, a microprocessor, optimization of computer architecture, computer speed further improved, and the volume is greatly reduced, for personal computers and portable computer appeared and spread. Its the biggest advantage is clear structure, comprehensive functions, and can meet the needs of the many USES and operation aspects.2. New technology of the operating systemFrom the standpoint of the operating system of the new technology, it mainly includes the operating system structure design of the micro kernel technology and operating system software design of the object-oriented technology.(1) The microkernel operating system technologyA prominent thought in the design of modern operating systems is the operating system of the composition and function of more on a higher level to run (i.e., user mode), and leave a small kernel as far as possible, use it to complete the core of the operating system is the most basic function, according to the technology for micro kernel (Microkernel) technology. The microkernel structure(1) Those most basic, the most essential function of the operatingsystem reserved in the kernel(2)Move most of the functionality of the operating system intothe kernel, and each operating system functions exist in theform of a separate server process, and provide services.(3)In user space outside of the kernel including all operatingsystem, service process also includes the user's applicationprocess. Between these processes is the client/server mode.Micro kernel contains the main ingredient(1) Interrupt and the exception handling mechanism(2)Interprocess communication mechanisms(3)The processor scheduling mechanism(4)The basic mechanism of the service functionThe realization of the microkernelMicro kernel implementation "micro" is a major problem and performance requirements of comprehensive consideration. To do "micro" is the key to implementation mechanism and strategy, the concept of separation. Due to the micro kernel is the most important of news communication between processes and the interrupt processing mechanism, the following briefly describes the realization of both.Interprocess communication mechanismsCommunication service for the client and the server is one of the main functions of the micro kernel, is also the foundation of the kernel implement other services. Whether to send the request and the server reply messages are going through the kernel. Process of news communication is generally through the port (port). A process can have one or more ports, each port is actually a message queue or message buffer, they all have a unique port ID (port) and port authority table, the table is pointed out that this process can be interactive communications and which process. Ports ID and kernel power table maintenance.Interrupt processing mechanismMicro-kernel structure separation mechanism will interrupt and the interrupt processing, namely the interrupt mechanism on micro kernel, and put the interrupt handling in user space corresponding service process. Micro kernel interruption mechanism, is mainly responsible for the following work:(1) When an interrupt occurs to identify interrupt;(2) Put the interrupt signal interrupt data structure mapping tothe relevant process;(3) The interrupt is transformed into a message;(4) Send a message to the user space in the process of port, butthe kernel has nothing to do with any interrupt handling.(5) Interrupt handling is to use threads in a system. The advantages of the microkernel structure(1) Safe and reliableThe microkernel to reduce the complexity of the kernel, reduce the probability of failure, and increases the security of the system.(2) The consistency of the interfaceWhen required by the user process services, all based on message communication mode through the kernel to the server process. Therefore, process faces is a unified consistent processescommunication interface.(3) Scalability of the systemSystem scalability is strong, with the emergence of new hardware and software technology, only a few change to the kernel.(4) FlexibilityOperating system has a good modular structure, can independently modify module and can also be free to add and delete function, so the operating system can be tailored according to user's need.(5) CompatibilityMany systems all hope to be able to run on a variety of different processor platform, the micro kernel structure is relatively easy to implement.(6) Provides support for distributed systemsOperating under the microkernel structure system must adopt client/server mode. This model is suitable for distributed systems, can provide support for distributed systems. The main drawback of microkernelUnder the micro-kernel structure, a system service process need more patterns (between user mode and kernel mode conversion) and process address space of the switch, this increases costs, affected the speed of execution.3 .Object-oriented operating system technologyObject-oriented operating system refers to the operating system based on object model. At present, there have been many operating system used the object-oriented technology, such as Windows NT, etc. Object-oriented has become a new generation of an important symbol of the operating system. The core of object-oriented conceptsIs the basic idea of object-oriented to construct the system as a series of collections of objects. The object refers to a set of data and the data of some basic operation encapsulated together formed by an entity. The core of object-oriented concept includes the following aspects:(1) EncapsulationIn object-oriented encapsulation is the meaning of a data set and the data about the operation of the packaging together, form a dynamic entity, namely object. Encapsulated within the request object code and data to be protected.(2) InheritanceInheritance refers to some object can be inherited some features and characteristics of the object.(3) PolymorphismPolymorphism refers to a name a variety of semantics, or the same interface multiple implementations. Polymorphism inobject-oriented languages is implemented by overloading and virtual functions.(4) The messageNews is the way of mutual requests and mutual cooperation between objects. An object through the message to activate another object. The message typically contains a request object identification and information necessary to complete the work.Object-oriented operating systemIn object-oriented operating system, the object as a concurrent units, all system resources, including documents, process and memory blocks are considered to be an object, such as the operating system resources are all accomplished through the use of object services. The advantages of object-oriented operating system:(1)Can reduce operating system throughout its life period whena change is done to the influence of the system itself. For example, if the hardware has changed, will force the operating system also changes, in this case, as long as change the object representing the hardware resources and the operation of the object of service, and those who use only do not need to change the object code.(2)Operating system access to its resources and manipulation are consistent .Operating system to produce an event object, delete, and reference, and it produces reference, delete, and a process object using the same method, which is implemented by using a handle to the object. Handle to the object, refers to the process to a particular object table in the table.(3)Security measures to simplify the operating system.Because all the objects are the same way, so when someone tries to access an object, security operating system will step in and approved, regardless of what the object is.(4)Sharing resources between object for the process provides a convenient and consistent approach.Object handle is used to handle all types of objects. The operating system can by tracking an object, how many handle is opened to determine whether the object is still in use. When it is no longer used, the operating system can delete the object.ConclusionIn the past few decades of revolutionary changes have taken place in the operating system: technological innovation, the expansionof the user experience on the upgrade, application field and the improvement of function. As in the past few decades, over the next 20 years there will be huge changes in operating system. See we now use the operating system is very perfect. Believe that after the technology of the operating system will still continue to improve, will let you use the more convenient. Believe that the operating system in the future will make our life and work more colorful.。

The Acronyms of Compiler DesignIntroductionCompiler design is an essential field in computer science that deals with the creation of software programs called compilers. A compiler is responsible for translating high-level programming languages into machine-readable code. To better understand the concepts and discussions related to compiler design, it is crucial to become familiar with some of the frequently used acronyms in this domain.1.Overview1.1 CompilerA Compiler is a program that converts source code written in a high-level programming language into machine code or an intermediate representation (IR). It plays a vital role in software development by bridging the gap between human-readable code and the machine’s binary language.1.2 IR (Intermediate Representation)IR refers to the intermediate form of the source code generated by the compiler. It serves as an intermediary between the high-level language and the low-level machine language. An IR is typically lower level than the source code, making it easier for the compiler to optimize and translate into machine code.1.3 AST (Abstract Syntax Tree)AST represents the hierarchical structure of the source code and is created during the parsing phase of the compiler. It captures the syntax and semantics of the program in a tree-like data structure. The AST helps the compiler process and understand the source code during various compilation stages.2.Lexical Analysis2.1 DFA (Deterministic Finite Automaton)DFA is a mathematical model or an abstract machine that recognizes and processes regular languages. In compiler design, DFAs are used to perform lexical analysis by tokenizing the source code into individual tokens. DFAs help in identifying keywords, identifiers, constants, and other language constructs.2.2 LexerA lexer, often referred to as a scanner or tokenizer, is responsible for breaking the source code into meaningful tokens based on the predefined grammar rules. The lexer analyzes the input character by character and outputs a stream of tokens for further processing by the compiler.3.Syntax Analysis3.1 ParserA parser is a component of the compiler that analyzes the token stream generated by the lexer and checks if it conforms to the defined grammar rules of the programming language. It constructs the AST by recursively applying production rules defined in the grammar.3.2 LL Parsing (Left-to-Right, Leftmost derivation)LL parsing is a top-down parsing strategy where the production rules are applied from left to right and the leftmost non-terminal is expanded first. It is commonly used in LL(k) parsers, where ‘k’ denotes the number of lookahead tokens used to decide which production rule to apply.4.Semantic Analysis4.1 Symbol TableA symbol table is a data structure maintained by the compiler to store information about variables, functions, classes, and other program entities. It provides a mapping between the identifier names and their attributes, such as type, scope, and memory location. Symbol tables help in detecting semantic errors and resolving references during compilation.4.2 Type CheckingType checking is a crucial part of semantic analysis that ensures the compatibility and consistency of types in the source code. It verifies if the operations performed on variables and expressions are valid according to the language rules. Type-checking rules are defined based on the programming language’s type system.5.Code Generation5.1 IR Code GenerationIR code generation involves translating the high-level source code into an intermediate representation code. The IR code is closer to the machine language and allows for further optimization before generating the final machine code.5.2 OptimizationOptimization aims to improve the efficiency of the generated code by applying various techniques. Common optimization strategies include removing redundant code, optimizing loop structures, and reducing the number of memory accesses. Optimization helps in producing faster and more efficient programs.6.Code Optimization6.1 Liveness AnalysisLiveness analysis determines the live range of variables in the program, i.e., the portion of the program where a variable is being used or has a potential to be used. This analysis is crucial for register allocation and code elimination optimizations.6.2 Register AllocationRegister allocation is the process of assigning variables to registers of a processor, considering the limited number of available registers. Efficient register allocation reduces the usage of memory accesses, which leads to faster program execution.ConclusionUnderstanding the acronyms commonly used in compiler design is essential for grasping the intricacies of this field. The mentioned acronyms provide a foundation for discussing various concepts, techniques, and stages involved in the compilation process. By familiarizing ourselves with these acronyms, we can delve deeper into the study and development of compilers.。
在conf/nginx.conf中,有如下一行:worker_processes 1;这是用来配置nginx启动几个工作进程的,默认为1。

Real and Nominal Interest Rates (重点,很可能考察简答题) • Nominal interest rate makes no allowance for inflation • Real interest rate is adjusted for changes in price level so it more accurately reflects the cost of borrowing • Ex ante real interest rate is adjusted for expected changes in the price level • Ex post real interest rate is adjusted for actual changes in the price level 8. Fisher Equation (重点考察)Chapter5:The Behavior of Interest Rates1. Determining the Quantity Demanded of an Asset• Wealth: the total resources owned by the individual, including all assets • Expected Return: the return expected over the next period on one asset relative to alternative assets• Risk: the degree of uncertainty associated with the return on one asset relative to alternative assets• Liquidity: the ease and speed with which an asset can be turned into cash relative to alternative assets (流动性很有可能考名词解释)2.Theory of Asset Demand (必考,死活都得背下来)Holding all other factors constant:1. The quantity demanded of an asset is positively related to wealth2. The quantity demanded of an asset is positively related to its expected return relative to alternative assets3. The quantity demanded of an asset is negatively related to the risk ofits returns relative to alternative assets4. The quantity demanded of an asset is positively related to its liquidityrelative to alternative assets3. Supply and Demand for Bonds (见到看一下图)Market Equilibrium4.Shifts in the Demand for Bonds = nominal interest rate = real interest rate = expected inflation rate When the real interest rate is low, there are greater incentives to borrow and fewer incentives to lend. The real inter e r r e i i i i ππ=+est rate is a better indicator of the incentives to borrow and lend.• Wealth: in an expansion with growing wealth, the demand curve for bonds shifts to the right• Expected Returns: higher expected interest rates in the future lower the expected return for long-term bonds, shifting the demand curve to the left • Expected Inflation: an increase in the expected rate of inflations lowers the expected return for bonds, causing the demand curve to shift to the left• Risk: an increase in the riskiness of bonds causes the demand curve to shift to the left• Liquidity: increased liquidity of bonds results in the demand curve shifting right5.Shifts in the Supply of Bonds• Expected profitability of investment opportunities: in an expansion, the supply curve shifts to the right• Expected inflation: an increase in expected inflation shifts the supply curve for bonds to the right• Government budget: increased budget deficits shift the supply curve to the right6.The Liquidity Preference Framework (重中之重)Keynesian model that determines the equilibrium interest ratein terms of the supply of and demand for money. There are two main categories of assets that people use to storetheir wealth: money and bo s s d ds d s d s d s d nds.Total wealth in the economy = B M = B + M Rearranging: B - B = M - M If the market for money is in equilibrium (M = M ),then the bond market is also in equilibrium (B = B ).7.Demand for Money in the Liquidity Preference Framework•As the interest rate increases:–The opportunity cost of holding money incr eases…–The relative expected return of money decreases…•…and therefore the quantity demanded of money decreases.8.Shifts in the Demand for Money(都很重要)•Income Effect: a higher level of income causes the demand for money at each interest rate to increase and the demand curve to shift to the right •Price-Level Effect: a rise in the price level causes the demand for money at each interest rate to increase and the demand curve to shift to the right •Liquidity preference framework leads to the conclusion that an increase in the money supply will lower interest rates: the liquidity effect.•Income effect finds interest rates rising because increasing the money supply is an expansionary influence on the economy (the demand curve shifts to the right).Chapter9:Banking1.The Bank Balance Sheet•Liabilities–Checkable deposits–Nontransaction deposits–Borrowings–Bank capital•Assets–Reserves(准备金)–Cash items in process of collection–Deposits at other banks–Securities–Loans–Other assets–2.Basic Banking:•Cash Deposit:Opening of a checking account leads to an increase in the bank’s reserves equal to the increase in checkable depositsCheck Deposit3.Inter-business•Bank settlement•Finance lease•Fiduciary business•Safe deposit box4. This article uses real-time operating system in embedded uC / OS-II in the transplant of a small TCP / IP protocol stack uIP the ways in which embedded systems based on 8051 GPRS terminal can transmit data in the network; the same time improve the system performance, improved reliability, enhanced system scalability and product development can be continuity.A data transmission network based on GPRSGPRS is based on the introduction of GSM Packet Control Unit (PCU), Service Support Node (SGSN) and gateway support node (GGSN), and other new parts consisting of wireless data transmission system, its users to form groups at the end Next to send and receive data. Prepared by Mr. Labrosse, now a popular free open source real-time operating system. It can be widely used from 8 to 64 different types of SCM, different sizes of embedded systems. With detailed notes of the uC / OS-II source code is only 200 pages or so; of which 95% is written in C, and the MCU type associated with the 8088 assembly code written in no more than 200 lines. uC / OS-II is not only compact in structure, can be cured, can be cut, multi-task and can be denied based real-time kernel, etc; and real-time, stability, reliability skirts have also been widely recognized. uC / OS-II can be compiled to the minimum core 2KB, generally take up memory in 10KB of magnitude for 8051-based embedded system needs. In the system, embedded uC / OS-II can be divided into many tasks throughout the process, relatively independent of each task, and then set the timeout function for each task, time after use, must surrender the right to use MCU. Even if a task problem, it will not affect the operation of other tasks. Embedded microcontroller system in uC / OS-II to improve system reliability, make it easy to debug programs, but also enhance the system scalability and product development can be continuity. However, uC / OS-II real-time operating system kernel is just a, compared with commercial real time operating system package, it lacks the Utilities section, such as file systems, remote function call library, communication software library. Abstract Cache is effective in bridging the gap between processor and memory speed. It is also a source of unpredictability because of its dynamic and adaptive behavior. A lot of modern processors provide cache locking capability which locks instructions or data of a program into cache so that a more precise estimation of execution time can be obtained. The selection of instructions or data to be locked in cache has dramatic influence on the system performance. For real-time systems, cache locking is mostly utilized to improve the Worst-Case Execution Time (WCET). However, Average-Case Execution Time (ACET) is also an important criterion for some embedded systems, especially for soft real-time embedded systems, such as image processing systems. This paper aims to utilize instruction cache (I-Cache) locking technique to guarantee a minimized estimable ACET for embedded systems by exploring the probability profile information. A Probability Execution Flow Tree (PEFT) is introduced to model an embedded application with runtime profile information. The static I-Cache locking problem is proved to be NP-Hard and two kinds of locking, fully locking and partially locking, are proposed to find the instructions to be locked. Dynamic I-Cache locking can further improve the ACET. For dynamic I-Cache locking, an algorithm that leverages the application’s branching information is proposed. All the algorithms are executed during the compilation time and the results are applied during the runtime. Experimental
英语单词efficient的用法 -回复
英语单词efficient的用法-回复Efficient is an adjective that is commonly used in the English language to describe something or someone that is able to accomplish tasks or goals in the most effective and productive way possible. The word efficient is derived from the Latin word "efficiens," which means "working productively." This article will explore the various ways in which the word efficient can be used in everyday conversations and provide examples to illustrate its usage. When discussing efficiency in the context of work or productivity, we often refer to the ability to complete tasks with minimal wasted time or resources. For instance, in a professional setting, being efficient means being able to manage one's time effectively and complete tasks within the given deadlines. This can be seen in various industries such as manufacturing, where efficient production processes ensure optimal use of resources, reducing costs and maximizing output.Efficient can also refer to the ability to use resources wisely. For example, when describing a car, we might say that it has good fuel efficiency, meaning it consumes less fuel for the same distancetraveled compared to other cars. Similarly, in the context of energy consumption, efficient appliances are designed to consume less electricity while providing the same level of functionality. This focus on using resources efficiently is not only beneficial for cost-saving purposes but also helps reduce our carbon footprint and promote sustainability. In addition to describing work processes and resource usage, efficient can also be used to describe the performance and effectiveness of individuals or systems. For example, an efficient employee is someone who is able to complete tasks quickly and accurately, maximizing productivity. In the field of information technology, an efficient algorithm refers to a well-designed and optimized set of instructions that solve a problem in the most efficient and effective manner. This emphasis on efficiency is often sought after in various domains to minimize errors, reduce costs, and maximize results.Another common usage of efficient is in the context of time management. Being efficient with time means making the most of the time available and prioritizing tasks accordingly. For example, in personal life, being efficient might involve setting goals, planningschedules, and avoiding distractions to make the most of one's time. Similarly, in project management or team collaboration, being efficient means allocating resources, assigning tasks, and coordinating efforts in a way that optimizes productivity and meets deadlines.Efficiency is often contrasted with inefficiency, which refers to situations, processes, or individuals that do not utilize resources effectively or that waste time and effort. For example, an inefficient transportation system may suffer from delays, bottlenecks, and poor resource allocation. Inefficiency can also be observed in personal habits or work practices that lead to poor productivity, unnecessary delays, or repeated mistakes. In conclusion, the word efficient is a versatile adjective that can be used to describe various aspects of productivity, resource utilization, and effectiveness. Whether it is in the context of work processes, resource usage, individual performance, or time management, efficiency plays a crucial role in achieving optimal results. By striving to be efficient, both individually and collectively, we can make the most of our resources, improve productivity, andcontribute to a more sustainable and productive world.。

dolphinschedule worker 分配算法-回复"DolphinSchedule Worker: An Algorithm for Efficient Task Allocation"Introduction:Task allocation is an essential component of any workflow management system, and DolphinSchedule Worker is an advanced algorithm designed to optimize task distribution in a distributed computing environment. This algorithm ensures efficient utilization of resources while minimizing task processing time. In this article, we will explore the principles and steps involved in the DolphinSchedule Worker algorithm with the aim of understanding its effectiveness in allocating tasks.1. Understanding the DolphinSchedule Worker Algorithm:The DolphinSchedule Worker algorithm is based on a combination of dynamic task scheduling and load balancing strategies. It aims to identify the most suitable workers for each task based on their capabilities and available resources. By optimizing the allocation of tasks, the DolphinSchedule Worker algorithm ensures tasks are executed efficiently and within the desired timeframe.2. Task Prioritization:Before delving into the task allocation process, it is crucial to consider task prioritization. The DolphinSchedule Worker algorithm assigns priority levels to each task based on various factors such as deadlines, dependencies, and resource requirements. By assigning priorities, the algorithm ensures that critical and time-sensitive tasks are allocated to the most appropriate workers first.3. Worker Capability Assessment:To allocate tasks effectively, the DolphinSchedule Worker algorithm assesses the capabilities of each worker in the distributed computing environment. This assessment includes factors such as processing power, memory availability, network bandwidth, and current workload. By gauging these factors, the algorithm identifies the most suitable worker for each task, considering their specific requirements.4. Load Balancing:Load balancing is a vital aspect of the DolphinSchedule Worker algorithm as it ensures fair distribution of tasks across all available workers. The algorithm dynamically evaluates the current workload of each worker and allocates tasks accordingly. By distributing theworkload evenly, DolphinSchedule Worker prevents any single worker from being overwhelmed while others remain underutilized.5. Task Allocation Process:The DolphinSchedule Worker algorithm follows a step-by-step task allocation process to ensure efficient utilization of resources:a. Task Arrival: When a task arrives in the system, the algorithm receives its details, including priority, dependencies, and resource requirements.b. Worker Assessment: The algorithm evaluates the capabilities of all available workers by considering their current workload, resource availability, and compatibility with the task.c. Task Assignment: Based on the task's priority and worker assessments, the algorithm assigns the task to the most suitable worker. This decision is made considering factors such as minimizing task processing time and ensuring optimal resource utilization.d. Load Balancing: After task assignment, the algorithm reassesses the workload of each worker. If any worker becomes overloaded or falls behind due to unexpected delays, the algorithm redistributes tasks among the available workers to maintain load balance.e. Task Execution: Once tasks are allocated to workers, they enter the execution phase. Workers employ their allocated resources and begin processing the given tasks, while the DolphinSchedule Worker algorithm continuously monitors progress.f. Task Completion: As tasks are completed, the DolphinSchedule Worker algorithm updates the overall system status and awaits the arrival of new tasks.6. Feedback Loop:The DolphinSchedule Worker algorithm incorporates a feedback loop mechanism to continuously improve its task allocation efficiency. By learning from previous task allocations and worker performance, the algorithm adapts its decisions to optimize future allocations. This feedback mechanism ensures the algorithm stays updated and responsive to changes in the computing environment. Conclusion:The DolphinSchedule Worker algorithm plays a crucial role in efficiently allocating tasks in a distributed computing environment. By considering task priorities, worker capabilities, load balancing, and feedback mechanisms, this algorithm maximizes the utilization of resources while minimizing task processing time. Its intelligent task allocation process ensures that critical tasks are handled promptly, benefiting organizations in achieving their workflow management goals efficiently.。

1 Goals of SVM Fortran
SVM Fortran is a shared memory parallel Fortran 77 extension targeted mainly towards data parallel applications on shared virtual memory (SVM) systems. The main application area is broader than that of HPF and Vienna Fortran. SVM Fortran supports coarse grained functional parallelism where the parallel tasks itself can be data parallel. SVM Fortran supports e cient programming of shared virtual memory systems. The language concepts and its runtime support for data locality optimization can also be applied to scalable systems with hardware supported global address space. Data locality in such systems is the most important factor in uencing program performance. Data locality depends on the mapping of tasks to processors. Parallel tasks can be either distributed dynamically, e.g. self-scheduled loops, or distributed according to a user supplied speci cation. SVM Fortran will be the basis to investigate dynamic scheduling strategies as well as language constructs for the speci cation of work distributions, based on High Performance Fortran. Programming massively parallel machines lacks adequate tools. SVM Fortran will be supported by high level language programming tools. A source code based locality analyzer will allow the user to identify performance degradations due to remote memory access. An interactive optimizer will help the user to optimize his program via automatic generation of low level language constructs. SVM Fortran and its tools support incremental parallelization on physically distributed memory systems, i.e. the greatest advantage of existing shared memory multiprocessors. Incremental parallelization for SVM memory systems may also lead to message passing code to get best performance. SVM Fortran facilitates the integration of message passing routines via a uni ed mechanism for processor identi cation. SVM Fortran is not a totally "new" language but is based on currently existing Fortran 77 extensions designed for massively parallel systems. Therefore, we carefully studied High Performance Fortran HPF], KSR Fortran KSR], Cray MPP Fortran Cray], Vienna Fortran VF, VF a], and Fortran-S Koan], and took over language concepts when this was appropriate. The SVM Fortran approach of giving the user control over the distribution of work instead of the distribution of data and the concept of nested parallelism in our language made a new language design necessary.

A perfectly-nested DOALL loop of nest depth k is a loop of the form of gure 1 (a), where stat(T) is an assignment statement block and T is its computing time. The loop partitioning scheme we proposed for a nested DOALL loop is carried out establishing a one-to-one correspondence between the nested loop and a partition of the hypercube dimensions. A de nition of such a partition follows: De nition 1. Given Hq , a k-partition of its dimensions is a vector pk = q P? (qk?1; qk?2; : : :; q0), such that qi 0 (i = 0; 1; : : :; k ? 1) and k=01 qi = q. i This partition of the dimensions allows us to decompose the number of processors of the hypercube into Q = 2q = Qk?1Qk?2 : : :Q0 , with Qi = 2qi . This can be interpreted as the hypercube has been subdivided into k subcubes, Hqk?1 , Hqk?2 , 2
1. Introduction
One of the phases in the scheduling is the processor allocation, which is the assignment of the number of processors to each task of the parallelized program. In this paper, we concentrate on the problem of static processor allocation for arbitrarily nested parallel loops on distributed memory, message-passing hypercubes. The programming model is SPMD (Single Program, Multiple Data). Using the minimization of the completion time as performance criterion, we solve the processor allocation in two consecutive stages 1] 2]: loop partitioning and loop distributing. The former calculates an upper bound for the number of iterations each processor will execute, out of the total speci ed by the loops. The latter distributes such sets of iterations across the corresponding processors. These stages are interdependent through the performance criterion, and they mutually depend on the data distribution scheme. In order to break these interdependencies, we follow the next sequence

of actions: (i) Design of a loop partitioning scheme that minimizes the parallel computing time of the loops. (ii) Design of a loop distributing scheme that, on one hand, optimizes the workload balance and, on the other hand, minimizes the communication time. (iii) Design of a data distributing scheme which exploit the data locality (i.e., it minimizes the communication time), as well as maintain the data redundance at a reasonable level (as a function of the capacities of the local memories). With this three-step scheme, the structure of the nested loop is preserved, as we only partition the loops at the individual level. The e ect of the partition is to reduce the value of the upper bounds of the loops. Therefore, the inter-loop dependencies are not a ected by action (i). As action (ii) is under the partition performed by action (i), any type of loop distribution is going to verify this dependencies. This means that we only have to worry about the intra-loop dependencies, which are going to be the ones responsible for the possible interprocessor communication instructions we must incorporate to our nal parallel algorithm. Next, we propose HYPAL (HYpercube Partitioning ALgorithm) as an e cient processor allocation algorithm for arbitrarily nested parallel loops. In principle, HYPAL does not consider the communication cost because it is not known until the data distribution has been concluded. However, we can include the communication cost in the overall parallel time with no restructuration in HYPAL.

University of Malaga Plaza El Ejido, s/n, 29013 Malaga, SPAIN May 10, 1993 ABSTRACT We consider the static processor allocation problem for arbitrarily nested parallel loops on distributed memory, message-passing hypercubes. We present HYPAL (HYpercube Partitioning ALgorithm) as an e cient algorithm to solve this problem. HYPAL calculatesan optimalset of partitionsof the dimensionof the hypercube, and assigns them to the set of iterations of the nested loop. Some considerations about the in uence of the communicationoverhead in order to get a more realistic approach are considered. The main problem at this point is to obtain the communication pattern associated to the parallel program because it depends on scheduling and data distribution.
