But there is no research to support this opinion, and, in fact, it is wrong. One simple thing can finally decide students’success or failure (失败): how they learn. Some students are so lucky that they find good ways to study. But not all students are so lucky.Dr. Asher developed a way called “Total Physical Response” to teach languages. Studies at San Jose State University showed that if students moved their bodies while learning English, they could learn more words and grammar in a short time. If they sat still and didn’t move, they learned less English. After a year, the students still remembered 80% or more of what they had learned if they learned by moving their bodies, while the others had forgotten over 80%.So you should make sure that you keep moving when you learn English. When you listen to a story or an article, do what you have heard. For example, if you hear the word “go”, you can move your feet. Pretend you are the person in the story or article. By doing this, you can learn more English, remember it longer and use it more easily.11. _______ can decide students’ success or failure according to the writer.A. Where to learnB. When to learnC. How to learnD. What to learn12. Dr. Asher developed “Total Physi cal Response” to _______.A. keep healthyB. give a speechC. speak languagesD. teach languages13. You should _______ when you learn English so that you can learn it well.A. listen to storiesB. talk to othersC. move your bodyD. sit still14. What does the underlined word “Pretend” mean in Chinese?A. 推测B. 假装C. 怀疑D. 确定15. What does the writer mainly want to tell us?A. Exercise is important for study.B. Some good ways to keep healthy.C. How to be successful.D. Good ways can help people learn well.BA tree has roots. People have roots, too. If you get to the root of a problem, you will solve it. It’s the same thing with words. Dig deeply into a big, unfamiliar word and you will understand where it came from.As readers, especially those reading in a second language, we need to deal with the text as if we were detectives (侦探) looking for information to unlock the unknown. Like any good detective arriving on the crime scene (犯罪现场), the first thing to do when meeting a new and difficult word is to judge (判断) the situation, to look at everything that is known and see if it helps us to understand what it means. As you know, prefixes (前缀) and suffixes (后缀) can be added to the beginning or end of words to change the meaning. Know them, and you will have the word building power. But root words are the key. Take time to learn a few of these, put them in your memory, and you will become a master word detective.Let’s look at one common root word used in English. “Alter” from the Latin (拉丁) word means “other”. When you meet this root word, you know that the bigger word has something to do with “other”. Examine the word “alternate”. Can you find the Latin root in it?Learn as many root words as possible in the language you are studying. Then useyour “rooting for words” skills. Like any new skill, practice and hard work are always paid back.16. What does the underlined word “it” in Paragraph 2 refer to?A. The situation.B. The crime scene.C. A new and difficult word.D. Everything that is known.17. If Jim and Lily go to the movies, which one below is “alternating paying”?A. They each pay half.B. Jim pays every time.C. They take turns paying.D. Their parents pay for them.18. How does the author explain his ideas about root words?A. By giving a fact.B. By taking an example.C. By telling a story.D. By having a discussion.19. “Sen” from the Latin word means “old”. Which word uses this Latin root?A. My brother is my senior by two years.B. He was ill so he was absent from school.C. A criminal was sentenced to death by law.D. 60 students were present at the sports meeting.20. Which of the following shows the structure(结构) of the passage?(①=Paragraph 1 ②=Paragraph 2…)A BC D三、词汇运用(每小题2 分,共20 分)(A)根据句意及汉语提示完成句子。

八年级下册英语第四单元作文题目
八年级下册英语第四单元作文题目全文共6篇示例,供读者参考篇1My Eight Grade English Writing AssignmentHi there! I'm going to write about the writing prompt I had to do for Unit 4 in my 8th grade English class. The prompt was: "Describe a time when you had to show courage or be brave. What happened, how did you feel, and what did you learn from the experience?"Wow, this was kind of a tough one for me! I had to really think back to when I was feeling scared or afraid but then overcame those feelings. After talking it over with my parents, I decided to write about the time last summer when I went to sleepaway camp for two whole weeks. At first, I was super excited to go to camp and have all those fun camp experiences like roasting marshmallows, swimming in the lake, and making new friends. But then as the time got closer, I started feeling really nervous. What if the other kids didn't like me? What if I got homesick? What if I didn't do well in any of theactivities? My stomach was in knots thinking about being away from home for that long. The day finally came for my parents to drop me off at camp. I tried to put on a brave face, but inside I was terrified. My mom gave me a big hug and reminded me what a brave girl I am. That helped a little bit. The counselors seemed nice at least. They showed me my bunk and where I'd be sleeping for the next two weeks.Later that day at the first camp activity, I didn't know anyone so I just kind of stood off by myself feeling shy. But then one girl came over and introduced herself. Her name was Emma and she was also new to the camp. We instantly clicked and became best friends for those weeks at camp. Having a friend like that helped me get through those first couple of very homesick days. There were definitely still some challenging moments though. Like the time we had to do a ropes course high up in the air. I'm kind of afraid of heights, so I was really scared to have to climb up there and walk across those ropes and wooden planks so high off the ground. My new friend Emma went right before me and she was shaking like a leaf! That didn't help my nerves at all. When it was my turn, I just took a deep breath and went for it step-by-step. The instructor kept giving me encouragement too which really helped. And you know what? Once I got going, it actually wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I felt so proud and brave when I made it all the way across! Emma and I were so excited that we conquered our fears.By the end of the two weeks, I got way more confident and capable at all the camp activities - even things like archery and rock climbing that seemed impossible when I first arrived. Saying goodbye to my new camp friends was really hard because we had been through so much together in just that short time. I didn't even get homesick those last few days because camp felt like a second home to me by then.Looking back now, I'm so glad I stepped out of my comfort zone and went to sleepaway camp, even though I was terrified at first. It taught me that I'm braver than I realized. If I can get through two weeks at camp doing all those challenging activities and making new friends, then I shouldn't be afraid to try new experiences. Courage isn't about being fearless - it's about feeling those fears but finding strength to face them anyway. That's a really important lesson that will help me in so many situations in life.I ended up writing a really great essay for my English assignment, if I do say so myself! I got an A+ and my teacher wrote that she could really feel the emotional journey I went on over those two camp weeks. She said the details made it come alive. My parents were so proud of me too. Writing about that experience really made me appreciate how far I've come in believing in myself. So that's the story of my 8th grade English writing assignment! It was a challenge for sure, but I worked really hard on it and I think the final essay turned out awesome. More than that though, it reminds me of a powerful growing experience I had just a year ago. I can't wait for my next chance to show courage and face my fears head on!篇2Hi friends! Today I'm gonna tell you about this super cool writing prompt from my big sister's English textbook. She's in 8th grade and they just started a brand new unit all about adventures and exploring the world. How awesome is that?!The writing prompt asks you to imagine you're going on an epic adventure to explore a remote and mysterious place. You have to decide where you want to go and what amazing thingsyou might discover there. Isn't that the coolest idea ever?! I can't wait to share my dream adventure with you.So here's what I came up with. I decided I want to journey deep into the heart of the Amazon rainforest in South America. How amazing would that be?! Just picture towering trees reaching up towards the sky, colorful toucans and parrots soaring through the air, and strange haunting calls of animals you've never even heard before. The Amazon is home to so many undiscovered species of plants and critters. Who knows what wacky and wonderful new creatures I might stumble upon?!I'd pack up my backpack with all the essentials - camping gear, machete to hack through the thick underbrush, binoculars for scoping out wildlife, and lots of bug spray (I hear the mosquitoes in the Amazon are totally vicious!). Oh and I'd definitely bring along my sketchbook and colored pencils so I could draw all the bizarre beasts and plants I encounter.I imagine I'd travel by riverboat deep into the interior of the rainforest where few humans have ever set foot. I'd set up a base camp and then spend my days hacking through the dense jungle, swimming in the murky rivers (watch out for piranhas!), and climbing up into the forest canopy to get a better view. Night times would be full of strange hoots, howls, and screeches as thecreatures of the dark come out to hunt and play. Maybe I'd even encounter a reclusive indigenous tribe that has had little contact with the outside world! How cool would it be to learn about their culture and way of life?Of course, hidden deep within the Amazon there could be remnants of ancient civilizations - overgrown temples, statues, and cities slowly being reclaimed by the unstoppable creep of the jungle. Perhaps I'd follow a ancient stone road leading to an Eldorado-like city of gold where indigenous peoples once worshipped the sun and conducted sacrificial rituals. Or maybe I'd stumble upon cave paintings ten thousand years old, offering a glimpse into how prehistoric peoples lived and survived in the rainforest eons ago. A kid can dream, right?Exploring the Amazon basin wouldn't be all fun and games though. I'd have to be crazy brave to face the challenges and hazards - venomous snakes, aggressive jaguars, hostile native tribes, raging rivers, impenetrable thickets of vegetation, tropical diseases like malaria, and getting hopelessly lost in the vastness of it all. I'd have to learn valuable survival skills like identifying edible plants, building shelters, and self-defense against dangerous beasts. It would be a true test of my strength, wits, and perseverance! But can you imagine how incredible it would feel to emerge from the depths of that green hell, finally returning to civilization after months of thrilling adventures? I'd be a legend - the brave kid explorer who ventured into one of the most wild and untamed environments on the planet and lived to tell the tale. I'd write books, go on talk shows, and give presentations about everything I saw and experienced in the Amazon. Teachers would invite me to their classrooms to share my stories and explorers would study my maps and journals for generations to come.Well, that's the dream adventure I'd write about for my 8th grade English assignment! Trekking through the Amazon rainforest would be equal parts terrifying and exhilarating. I might encounter mind-blowing archaeological wonders from ancient peoples or even unknown species of animals and plants. Or maybe I'd tragically get eaten by a giant serpent on day one! You never know what could happen when you venture into the unknown regions of our planet. One thing's for sure, it would be an adventure I'd never forget! What did you think of my dream Amazon exploration, friends? Could you handle braving killer insects, piranhas, jaguars and getting hopelessly lost in the rainforest? Or would you choose somewhere a bit tamer for your fantasy adventure? Nomatter what, I bet it would make for an awesome story to write about for our English class. Well, I gotta go - time to start gathering all my essential jungle exploration gear. A kid explorer's work is never done! See you next time!篇3Unit 4 Writing Assignment for 8th Grade English TextbookYay! It's time for our Unit 4 writing assignment in English class! I'm so excited because the topic is really fun. We have to write an essay about our dream job when we grow up. How cool is that?I already know exactly what I want to be - a professional video game designer! Ever since I was a little kid, I've loved playing video games. My favorite games are the open-world adventure games where you can explore huge maps and go on epic quests. The worlds in those games always feel so real and magical. As a video game designer, I would get to actually create those amazing worlds myself! I would design the maps, characters, storylines, and all the fun quests and challenges. It would be like being a world-builder or even a modern-day myth-maker. How awesome is that? The first game world I would design would be a fantasy realm with dragons, knights, wizards and everything. There would be sprawling medieval cities with towering castles and twisting cobblestone streets. But then you could also venture out into the wilderness and find mysterious ancient forests, misty mountains, and labyrinthine underground caves.Maybe one of the cities could be ruled by an evil sorcerer that the players need to defeat. They'd have to go on a long quest gathering allies, weapons, and magic artifacts to take him down. There could be massive dragon battles in the skies over the castles! So cool. For the characters, I would want players to be able to customize their hero however they want. They could be a human, an elf, a dwarf, or even something totally exotic. And they could pick their character's skills, gear, and backstory. Some players might want to be noble knights, others could be roguish thieves, or wise old wizards. The choices would be endless.Of course, the game would also need lots of awesome loot for players to find as rewards. Who doesn't love getting new swords, armor, magic staffs and other powerful gear? Players could deck out their characters in the coolest stuff.Besides the epic main storyline, there would also be tons of fun side quests to go on as well. Maybe you have to help a village rid itself of menacing ogres. Or perform tasks for a powerful dragon in exchange for treasure from its hoard. Or join an adventure guild and get paid for taking on dangerous missions. So many possibilities! In between all the battling and questing, players could just explore the world at their own pace too. They could go climbing snow-capped peaks, delving into ancient ruins, or just go monster-hunting in the deep wildernesses for fun and profit. No two players would have the exact same experience.Designing the sounds and music for the game would be a blast too. aaaaaaaaaHHhhh! Can't you just hear the fierce battle cries, clashing swords, bellowing dragons and heroic musical scores? I get the chills just thinking about it. So epic! And the graphics would be totally amazing. Technology these days can make game worlds look just as detailed and realistic as movies. I'd put so much care into every texture, lighting effect, and little environmental detail. Gamers would feel completely transported.Of course, making games this incredibly awesome would take a whole team of super talented designers, programmers, artists, composers and more. But I'd give it my absolute all to co-ordinate everyone and make sure every aspect lives up to my original epic vision.Whew, I got a little carried away there didn't I? Writing about my dream job just gets me so excited and imaginative. I can't wait to start learning real game design skills. I'll study my heart out in school, especially all the programming, 3D modeling and animation stuff. And I'll play tons of games too - you know, for "research" reasons! With hard work and perseverance, I know I can make it as a pro game designer one day. That would be a million times better than having some boring desk job. This way, I'd get to use my creativity and passions every single day. Just thinking about it makes me grin from ear to ear.Creating new worlds and adventures for people to experience - is there any cooler job than that? To a video game designer, the possibilities for amazing stories and gameplay are literally endless. I'd never get tired of dreaming up fresh ideas.Well, I could ramble forever but I should probably wrap this up. I just hope my essay showed how incredibly brilliant, fun and rewarding being a video game designer would be. It's truly my dreamiest of dream jobs!Okay, time to hand this in to Mrs. Robinson. Maybe she'll let me design the next big school play or something after reading how imaginative I am. A guy can dream, right? Thanks for reading, everyone!篇4Unit 4 Writing AssignmentHey there! Mrs. Johnson gave us a pretty big writing assignment for Unit 4 in English class. We have to write an essay about a time when we had to overcome a challenge or obstacle. I've been thinking a lot about what to write mine on. At first, I thought I would write about the time I broke my arm when I was 10 and had to learn how to do everything with one hand for a few months. That was pretty hard! But then I remembered an even bigger challenge I faced more recently.Last summer, my family went on a camping trip to Yellowstone National Park. We were so excited because we had never been camping before, especially not at a huge national park like that. My dad is really into the outdoors and nature, so he thought it would be an awesome experience for all of us. My mom wasn't quite as pumped about it as he was, but she went along with it.The first few days of the trip were actually pretty fun! We stayed at a campground inside the park and went on some easy hikes to see geysers, hot springs, and other cool natural attractions. Even though sleeping on the ground in a tent wasn't very comfortable, it was still an adventure. Then on the fourth day, everything changed. We had planned a longer, more difficult hike to see a waterfall deep inside the park. The trail was ranked as "strenuous" but my dad thought we could handle it since we had done some smaller hikes already. Boy, was he wrong! The hike started out okay, but after a couple of miles it got super steep and the trail was just rocks and boulders that we had to climb up. I'm a pretty small kid, so scrambling up those rocks while carrying a heavy backpack was really hard. My skinny little legs were burning like crazy! My parents and older brother were moving a lot faster than me, and before long they were way ahead. I was dead last, struggling along and wanting to give up so bad. A few times I stopped to rest and cried a little bit because I was feeling sorry for myself. But then I would look back at how far I had already come, and I knew I couldn't turn back now. I had to keep pushingforward, one step at a time. Giving up wasn't an option if I wanted to make it to that waterfall!Slowly but surely, I kept inching my way up the mountain. Every time I thought I couldn't go any farther, I would look ahead and see my family waiting for me, cheering me on. That motivated me to never quit. Finally, after what felt like seventy million years, I made it to the top! The waterfall was absolutely breathtaking. Seeing that incredible natural wonder after such a grueling journey made it all worth it. I have never felt so accomplished in my entire life.On the way back down the mountain, I was a newfound hiking machine! The descent was much easier for my little legs. I felt like I could conquer any trail after pushing through such a difficult one. What started as my biggest challenge quickly turned into my biggest victory. When we got back to the campsite, I was exhausted but so proud of myself. That night I slept like a rock, dreaming of my next hiking adventure. I can't wait! Now whenever I face a tough challenge, I remember how I never gave up on that brutal hike. I think about taking it one small step at a time until I reach the end goal. As long as I keeppushing forward with determination, I can overcome any obstacle. Climbing that mountain taught me that I'm stronger than I ever imagined, and nothing can stop me when I put my mind to it.So that's what I'll be writing my essay about - the biggest challenge I've faced so far! Describing that whole experience in detail is probably going to take up way more than the 500 word limit Mrs. Johnson gave us. But no big deal, I'm always down for a little extra writing practice. Bring it on!篇5My Awesome English Unit 4 Writing Assignment!Hey there! I'm going to tell you all about the really cool writing assignment we had to do for English Unit 4 this semester. It was so much fun!The assignment was to write a composition about our future dreams and goals. What job did we want when we grew up? Where did we want to live? What did we imagine our lives would be like in 20 or 30 years? Miss Johnson said we could let our imaginations run wild!At first, I wasn't sure what to write about. There are SO many awesome jobs and places in the world to dream about. But then I remembered how much I love animals, especially dogs. So I decided my dream job would be to work with dogs in some way.Maybe I could be a dog walker and get paid to play with pups all day long! Or a dog groomer who gives baths and trims fur to make the doggies look their fluffiest. Ooh or even a veterinarian who helps sick and hurt dogs feel better. Veterinarians are like doctors but just for animals instead of humans. How cool would that be?Anyway, for my composition I wrote all about my dream of being a veterinarian when I grow up. Here's a bit of what I wrote:"In the future, I want to be a veterinarian who helps make dogs and other pets healthy and happy. I will go to university and study animal biology and medicine for many years. Then I can open my own veterinary clinic! My clinic will be in a big city like New York or Los Angeles where there are lots of people who need vets for their furry friends. It will be a huge building with lots of examination rooms, an x-ray machine, and even a little surgery area for operations.Pet owners will make appointments to bring their dogs, cats, rabbits, and other pets to my clinic whenever they are sick or need their yearly check-up. As the veterinarian, it will be my job to examine the animals, figure out what is wrong if they are sick, and give them any medicine or treatment they need..."I went on to describe in detail what a typical day would be like at my future veterinary clinic. I'd arrive in the morning and my assistants would have the exam rooms all ready. Then I'd see my list of appointment patients one by one throughout the day.I wrote about how I would gently examine each pet, looking at their eyes, ears, and mouth, listening to their heartbeat, and feeling their body for any problems. If I couldn't figure out what was wrong just by examining them, I might need to take an x-ray or run other tests. Then I would make a diagnosis, like maybe the dog has an ear infection or the cat has a urinary problem. I would explain everything to the pet's owner and give them medicine to help their animal companion get better. For extreme cases, I might need to do surgery! But I would always use my best skills to take great care of all the animals. At the end of each work day, I imagined going home feeling tired but happy because I helped make so many pets healthy andtheir owners relieved. Running my own successful veterinary clinic would be my dream job!Of course, that's just the篇6Unit 4 Writing Assignment - A Day in My LifeHey there! My English teacher asked us to write about a day in our lives for our Unit 4 writing assignment. I thought it would be pretty boring to just list out everything I do from when I wake up to when I go to bed. So instead, I decided to write about one really fun and exciting day I had a few weeks ago!It was a Saturday morning and I woke up around 9am. My little brother Timmy was already up and watching cartoons in the living room. He's 6 years old and always has so much energy. I went into the kitchen and made myself a big bowl of cereal with banana slices on top. After I ate, I texted a few of my friends to see if they wanted to hang out that day.Jake replied first and said he was down to go to the mall for a few hours. Jake is my best friend - we've known each other since kindergarten. His mom drove us to the mall around 11am. We went to the video game store first. Jake really wanted topre-order the new first-person shooter game that's coming out next month. The guy working at the store said they were running a special pre-order deal. After the video game store, we headed to the food court because we were getting hungry. I got a slice of pepperoni pizza and Jake got Chinese food from Panda Express. We sat down and I filled Jake in on the drama between me and this guy Dylan that I kind of like. Jake thinks Dylan also likes me but is too shy to make a move. Maybe I'll have to be the one who says something first!Once we were done eating, Jake wanted to go to the bookstore to check out the new manga section they just put in. I'm not that into manga or anime, but I tagged along. Jake spent forever looking at all the books. He probably would have bought a bunch if he had more money. We killed a couple more hours just walking around the mall, going into stores, and people watching. Malls are great for that! At one point, we saw these two high school boys getting into an actual fist fight near the food court over something stupid. It was crazy! Thankfully, security rushed over and broke it up before things got too out of hand.Jake's mom came to pick us up around 4pm. She dropped me off at home and I spent the rest of the evening just chilling. I fired up my PlayStation and played some games for a little while. My mom made chicken quesadillas for dinner, which are my favorite. After dinner, I FaceTimed my friend Sophia while watching some TikToks. She's my closest girlfriend and we always have so much to talk about.Eventually it started getting late and I got ready for bed around 10pm. I scrolled through Instagram for a bit, then watched a couple YouTube videos until I got tired. Just another fun-filled weekend day in my middle school life! I'm sure more excitement and craziness awaits me next week. Being in 8th grade is never boring, that's for sure. Thanks for reading!。

English is one of my favorite subjects, so I'm really excited to share my lesson plans and answers from our English textbook with you. Let's dive right in!Unit 1: Around the WorldThis unit was all about different countries, cultures, and traditions around the world. We learned some fascinating facts and travel tips. One of the questions asked us to describe a traditional festival from another country. For the Spring Festival in China, I wrote about how families get together, decorate their homes with red lanterns and couplets, watch fireworks, and exchange red envelopes with money inside as a symbol of good luck.Unit 2: Science MarvelsI found this unit super interesting as we explored some incredible scientific discoveries and inventions. One question asked us to explain how a certain invention works. I chose to write about how airplanes can fly despite their huge weight. Basically, the wings are shaped to create an area of low pressure above and high pressure below, generating enough lift to overcome gravity and keep the plane up in the air.Unit 3: Nature's WondersFor this unit on the natural world, we had to write a descriptive paragraph about a natural wonder we'd like to visit. I picked the Northern Lights or Aurora Borealis. I described the beautiful, dancing waves of green, purple, and blue light that seem to magically appear in the night sky near the North Pole. Wouldn't it be amazing to see that in real life?Unit 4: Caring for Our PlanetThis unit focused on environmental protection, which is a topic I feel really passionate about. One of the questions asked us to propose ways that our school could become moreeco-friendly. Some of my suggestions were: setting up clearly labeled recycling bins, encouraging students and staff to usereusable water bottles and lunchboxes instead of disposable plastic, and organizing community clean-up events.Unit 5: Sports ManiaWe had lots of fun reading and talking about different sports in this unit. For one of the writing exercises, we had to compare and contrast two sports of our choice. I decided to look at football (soccer) and basketball. Some of the key differences are the size of the playing field, number of players, use of hands, and ways to score points. But they're both high-intensity games that require teamwork and physical skill.Unit 6: Cultural KaleidoscopeThe final unit explored the rich diversity of cultures through things like art, music, food, and traditions. A particularly thought-provoking question asked us to discuss whether we think globalisation is a positive or negative phenomenon overall.I argued that while globalisation has helped spread ideas and bring people together, it's also led to some cultural homogenization. So we need to be proactive about protecting cultural diversity.Well, those were some of the major topics and assignments we covered this semester. Despite the occasional headache fromtough questions, I really enjoyed our English lessons. The class opened my eyes to so many new ideas and perspectives from around the world. I'm already looking forward to more amazing adventures in English next year!篇6My 8th Grade English Textbook AnswersHey guys! I'm so excited to share with you all the awesome stuff I've learned from my 8th grade English textbook this year. I've got to be honest, at first I wasn't really looking forward to another year of English class. But this textbook has actually been pretty cool!Let me start with Unit 1 which was all about personal descriptions and introductions. We had to describe our appearances, personalities, hobbies, and ambitions. I wrote about how I have brown hair, green eyes, and I'm about 5 feet tall. For my personality, I said I'm a pretty laid-back guy who loves cracking jokes to make my friends laugh. Hockey is definitely my biggest hobby - I try to play every chance I get! As for my ambition, I'd love to become a professional hockey player someday. In Unit 2, we learned how to talk about our daily routines and schedules. I described my typical weekday, like waking up at 7am, having breakfast, then going to school from 8:30 to 3:30pm. After school, I have hockey practice from 4-6pm. Then I come home, eat dinner, do my homework, and go to bed around 10pm. On weekends, I get to sleep in late and just relax or hang out with friends.Unit 3 was so interesting because it was all about different cultures and traditions around the world. We learned about holidays, food, clothing, and customs from places like Mexico, India, Egypt and more. My favorite part was when we had to research a country and give a presentation about its culture. I chose Japan and talked about things like sushi, kimonos, anime, and the Cherry Blossom Festival. I even attempted a few Japanese words! Then in Unit 4, we covered topics related to entertainment and leisure time. I wrote about my favorite movies, TV shows, books, sports, and video games. We had to describe plot summaries, review our favorite entertainment, and discuss how we like to spend our free time. I mostly just play hockey and video games when I'm not doing schoolwork!Units 5 and 6 were all about exploring the world through traveling. We learned great vocabulary for transportation, lodging, tourist activities, and dealing with things like travel delays or getting lost. We also studied how to read maps, follow directions, and describe locations in a town or city. I imagined myself going on an awesome trip to Europe and touring around places like London, Paris, and Rome. Hopefully I can do that for real someday! In Unit 7, we focused on the environment and how to protect nature. We learned about things like pollution, deforestation, endangered species, recycling and conservation efforts. I wrote a persuasive essay arguing why it's so crucial for us to take care of the Earth's resources and ecosystems. After all, this is the only planet we've got! We also had to come up with ideas for environmental protection campaigns that schools or communities could implement. Finally, Unit 8 prepared us for the future by exploring different careers, colleges, and lifelong skills. We researched potential jobs and discussed their duties, education requirements, salary ranges and future outlook. We also wrote about which subjects interest us most, what schools we'd like to attend, and how to choose a wise career path. Personally, I'mreally interested in pursuing sports management or sports marketing as a possible career.Overall, this English textbook helped me improve my reading, writing, listening and speaking abilities so much. I feel way more confident communicating in English now. While there was definitely a lot of hard work involved, I actually had fun with many of the activities and topics we covered. English class wasn't nearly as boring as I thought it would be! I'm really going to miss this textbook and everything I learned from it. Bring on 9th grade!。

鲁教版五四制八年级下册第四单元英语作文全文共6篇示例,供读者参考篇1A Day in My LifeHey there! My name is Xiao Ming, and I'm an 8th-grader at a middle school in a small city in China. Today, I'm going to share with you a typical day in my life, and let me tell you, it's quite an adventure! It all starts with the loud beeping of my trusty alarm clock at 6:30 a.m. Yep, that's right – I'm an early riser! After a few groggy moments of trying to find the snooze button, I finally drag myself out of bed and get ready for the day ahead.First things first, I head to the bathroom to freshen up. A quick splash of water on my face, and I'm ready to take on the world (or at least my morning routine). Next up, it's time for breakfast. My mom is usually in the kitchen whipping up something delicious, like steaming hot congee or fluffy baozi. I gobble it all down and grab my backpack, stuffed with textbooks and notebooks.By 7:15 a.m., I'm out the door and on my way to school. I live pretty close, so I usually walk or ride my trusty bike. The streets are bustling with people heading to work or school, and the aroma of freshly baked goods wafts from the local bakeries. I love this part of the day – it's like the city is slowly waking up and getting ready for a new adventure.I arrive at school around 7:45 a.m., just in time for the morning assembly. We all line up in the schoolyard, and the principal gives us a speech about the importance of studying hard and being good citizens. Then, it's off to our first class of the day – English! Now, this is where things get really interesting. Our English teacher, Mr. Wang, is always full of energy and enthusiasm. He loves to make us practice our English conversation skills by acting out little skits or role-playing situations. Sometimes, it can be a bit embarrassing, but I have to admit, it really does help us improve our speaking abilities.Today's lesson is all about the 5th unit in our textbook, which covers topics like shopping, bargaining, and discussing prices. Mr. Wang divides us into groups, and we have to create a skit where we're shopping at a local market and trying to negotiate the best prices. It's a lot of fun, but it's also challengingto come up with natural-sounding dialogues and remember all the vocabulary we've learned. After English, we have a few more classes, like math, science, and Chinese literature. The day flies by, and before I know it, it's lunchtime! The cafeteria is always a lively place, filled with the chatter of hungry students and the aroma of delicious food. I grab a tray and load it up with my favorite dishes – maybe some fried rice, vegetable stir-fry, and a steaming bowl of soup. The afternoon is a blur of more classes, homework, and occasional breaks for recess. By the time the final bell rings at 4 p.m., I'm exhausted but feeling accomplished. It's been a long day, but I've learned so much and had a lot of fun with my classmates. On my way home, I might stop by the local park to play basketball or just hang out with my friends. We chat about our day, exchange jokes, and sometimes even help each other with homework assignments. It's a great way to unwind after a busy day at school.Once I'm back home, it's time for dinner with my family. We usually gather around the table and catch up on each other's day while enjoying a delicious home-cooked meal prepared by mymom. After dinner, I might watch a bit of TV or play some video games, but I try not to overdo it – I still have homework to finish!Around 8 p.m., I settle down at my desk and start tackling my assignments. English is usually the toughest subject for me, but I try my best to understand the lessons and complete the exercises. Sometimes, I'll ask my parents for help if I'm really struggling with a concept.By 10 p.m., I'm ready to call it a night. I get ready for bed, say goodnight to my family, and snuggle under the covers. As I drift off to sleep, I can't help but feel grateful for another day filled with learning, laughter, and precious moments with my loved ones. That's a typical day in my life as an 8th-grader in China. It's a whirlwind of classes, activities, and quality time with friends and family. Sure, some days are more challenging than others, but I wouldn't have it any other way. Every day is an opportunity to grow, learn, and create unforgettable memories. Who knows what exciting adventures tomorrow will bring?篇2My Passion for SportsHey there! My name is Li Mingming and I'm an 8th grader at Qufu No. 1 Middle School. Today, I want to share my thoughts on the importance of sports and physical activity for kids like me.Ever since I was a little kid, I've always loved being active and playing outside. My parents encouraged me to try different sports from a young age, and I quickly discovered that not only did I have a lot of fun, but I also felt really good – both physically and mentally. When I was in elementary school, I got involved with our school's track and field team. At first, I'll admit that the training was tough. Running laps, doing push-ups, and all those drills really wore me out. But my coaches kept telling me that if I stuck with it, I'd get stronger and faster. And you know what? They were right! Over time, I built up my endurance and speed. More importantly, I gained a sense of discipline and determination that has helped me in all areas of my life.Aside from track, I also tried my hand at basketball, soccer, badminton – you name it! Each sport came with its own set of challenges, but also its own unique rewards. Through basketball, I learned the value of teamwork and communication. Soccer taught me agility and quick thinking. Badminton helped improve my hand-eye coordination. The more I played, the more Irealized just how amazing the human body is, and how incredible it feels to push your physical limits. That's not to say that sports are all sunshine and rainbows. I've had my fair share of injuries, disappointments, and setbacks along the way. Like the time I sprained my ankle during a track meet, or when our basketball team lost the championship game in heartbreaking fashion. Moments like those can be really tough to swallow. But you know what? They've also taught me valuable lessons about perseverance, resilience, and sportsmanship. One of the best things about being involved in sports is the sense of community it creates. Some of my closest friends are teammates from various teams and clubs. We've sweated, celebrated, and commiserated together. We've learned to lift each other up, hold each other accountable, and most importantly, have each other's backs both on and off the field. These days, as I'm getting older and academic pressures are ramping up, it's become more challenging to find time for sports and physical activity. Between homework, study sessions, and extracurricular activities, it can be tempting to let exercise fall by the wayside. But I've made a conscious effort to prioritize it, because I know how much better I feel – mentally and physically – when I make time for it.Maybe I'll join the school's volleyball team next year, or take up martial arts lessons. Or maybe I'll just stick to running around the neighborhood with my buddies after class. Whatever form it takes, I know that staying active and embracing a healthy lifestyle will continue to be a vital part of my journey. So to all my fellow students out there, I can't emphasize enough how important it is to find a sport or physical activity that you're passionate about. It doesn't matter if you're a natural-born athlete or a total beginner – the key is to get out there, get moving, and have fun! Trust me, your mind and body will thank you for it.That's all from me for now. Time to lace up my sneakers and hit the basketball court!篇3A Day in My Life as an Eighth GraderHey there! My name is Xiao Ming, and I'm a student in the eighth grade. Today, I'll take you through a typical day in my life, so you can get a glimpse into what it's like being a middle schooler in China. Buckle up, because it's gonna be a wild ride!It all starts with the dreaded sound of my alarm clock blaring at the ungodly hour of 6 AM. I groggily roll out of bed, rubbing the sleep out of my eyes. After a quick wash-up, I head to the kitchen, where my mom has already prepared a delicious breakfast for me. Nothing fancy, just a couple of steamed buns and a bowl of warm soymilk, but it's enough to fuel me for the day ahead.By 7 AM, I'm out the door and making my way to school. The streets are already bustling with people heading to work or running errands. I love watching the city come alive in the morning, with street vendors setting up their carts and shopkeepers opening their stores. It's like a choreographed dance, and I'm just one of the many dancers.I arrive at school around 7:30 AM, just in time for the morning exercises. We all gather in the schoolyard and follow along as the PE teacher leads us through a series of stretches and light calisthenics. It's a great way to wake up and get the blood flowing before hitting the books. After the exercises, it's time for the first class of the day: English. I've always loved learning languages, and English is no exception. Our teacher, Ms. Wang, is really cool and makes the lessons fun and interactive. Today, we're learning about Unit 4 inour textbook, which is all about travel and cultures around the world. We practice dialogues, play language games, and even watch short videos about different countries. It's fascinating stuff!Next up is math, which isn't my strongest subject, but I try my best. Our teacher, Mr. Li, is a stickler for details and doesn't let us get away with sloppy work. We spend the class going over equations, word problems, and geometry concepts. It's a real brain workout, but I know it's important for developing critical thinking skills. After math, we have a short break, during which I hang out with my friends in the schoolyard. We chat, play games, and share snacks brought from home. It's a nice way to recharge before diving back into academics. The rest of the morning flies by with classes in Chinese, history, and science. Each subject is taught by a different teacher, and they all have their unique teaching styles. Some are more strict, while others are more laid-back, but they all share a passion for their subject and a desire to see us learn and grow. Finally, it's lunchtime! The school cafeteria is always a lively place, with students lining up to get their meals. Today's menu is a hearty helping of fried rice, some stir-fried veggies, and a bowlof egg drop soup. I dig in enthusiastically, savoring every bite. Growing kids need their fuel, after all! After lunch, we have a short break to digest our food and catch our breath. Some students take the opportunity to study or do homework, while others engage in more leisurely activities like reading or chatting with friends. The afternoon classes are a mixed bag, with subjects like art, music, and PE thrown into the mix. Art is one of my favorite classes, as I love flexing my creative muscles and letting my imagination run wild. Today, we're learning about different painting techniques and styles from around the world. It's both educational and fun!Music class is always a blast, too. We learn to sing traditional Chinese folk songs, as well as popular modern tunes. Our teacher, Mr. Zhang, is a talented musician and has a real knack for getting us engaged and interested in the subject.PE, on the other hand, is a love-hate relationship for me. I enjoy being active and playing sports, but the intense physical exertion can be draining. Today, we're playing basketball, which is one of my stronger suits. I manage to score a few baskets and even dish out a couple of assists, much to the delight of my teammates. As the final bell rings, signaling the end of the school day, I breathe a sigh of relief mixed with a sense of accomplishment. It's been a long, busy day, but I've learned so much and had a ton of fun along the way.On my way home, I stop by the local bookstore to browse their selection of novels and comics. Reading is one of my favorite hobbies, and I love getting lost in a good book. Today, I pick up the latest installment of a popular fantasy series that all my friends have been raving about.Once I'm home, I have a light snack and get started on my homework. My parents are big believers in the importance of education, so they make sure I stay on top of my studies. I tackle my assignments one by one, occasionally taking breaks to stretch my legs or grab a quick snack. After homework, I have some free time to myself. Sometimes I'll play video games, chat with friends online, or just lounge around and watch TV. It's a chance for me to unwind and recharge before dinner.Dinner is always a family affair at our house. My parents, grandparents, and I all gather around the table to enjoy a delicious home-cooked meal. We catch up on each other's days, share stories and laugh together. It's one of my favorite parts ofthe day, and it reminds me of how lucky I am to have such a loving, supportive family. After dinner, it's back to the books for a little more studying.I review my notes, work on any outstanding assignments, and prepare for the next day's classes. Education is taken very seriously in my household, and my parents want to make sure I'm putting in the effort to succeed. Finally, around 9 PM, it's time to start winding down for the night. I take a relaxing shower, brush my teeth, and get ready for bed. Sometimes I'll read a chapter or two of my novel before drifting off to sleep, dreaming of the adventures that await me tomorrow. And that's a typical day in the life of this eighth-grade student! It's a whirlwind of classes, activities, homework, and quality family time. It's not always easy, but I wouldn't have it any other way. Every day is a new opportunity to learn, grow, and experience all that life has to offer. So, there you have it, a glimpse into the world of an eighth grader in China. It's a busy, action-packed life, but it's also filled with joy, laughter, and endless possibilities. Who knows what the future holds? But for now, I'm just happy to be a kid, soaking up knowledge and making unforgettable memories along the way.篇4My Unforgettable Summer VacationLast summer, I had the most amazing and unforgettable vacation ever! It was a whole month of fun, adventure, and lots of new experiences. Let me tell you all about it!It all started when my parents surprised me and my little brother with the news that we were going on a road trip to visit our grandparents in the countryside. We were so excited! We hadn't seen Grandma and Grandpa for almost a year, and we couldn't wait to spend time with them. The journey itself was quite an adventure. We packed our bags, loaded up the car, and hit the road. My brother and I took turns playing games, singing songs, and spotting interesting things out the window. We saw rolling hills, vast fields, and even a few curious cows along the way! After a long drive, we finally arrived at our grandparents' house. It was a cozy little farmhouse nestled in the heart of the countryside, surrounded by lush green fields and a small forest. Grandma and Grandpa greeted us with big hugs and their warmest smiles. The first few days were spent catching up and relaxing. We helped Grandma in the kitchen, learning how to make her famous homemade bread and pies. The aroma of freshly baked goodies filled the air, and we couldn't resist sneaking a taste or two!One day, Grandpa took us on a hiking adventure through the nearby forest. We saw squirrels scampering up the trees, birds chirping merrily, and even spotted a few deer grazing in a clearing. It was like stepping into a magical world!Another highlight of our vacation was visiting the local farmer's market. The stalls were overflowing with colorful fruits and vegetables, freshly baked goods, and handmade crafts. We tried all sorts of delicious treats and even brought some home to share with our parents. One of my favorite memories was the night we had a bonfire in Grandpa's backyard. We roasted marshmallows, told spooky stories, and gazed up at the twinkling stars in the clear night sky. It was so peaceful and serene, a perfect break from the hustle and bustle of city life.As the weeks flew by, we savored every moment spent with our grandparents. They taught us so much about the simple joys of life, like appreciating nature, working hard, and cherishingfamily. Their love and wisdom will always stay with us, no matter how far we go.Before we knew it, it was time to say goodbye. We hugged our grandparents tightly, promising to visit again soon. The journey back home seemed shorter, as we reminisced about all the wonderful memories we had made. That summer vacation was truly unforgettable. It taught me the importance of spending quality time with loved ones and embracing new experiences. Even though we're back in the city now, a part of my heart will always be in that little farmhouse, surrounded by the warmth and love of my grandparents.篇5My Unforgettable JourneyIt was the summer break after I finished the 7th grade. My parents had planned a exciting trip for our family – a journey to the beautiful Qinghai Lake in northwestern China. I was thrilled at the idea of visiting this famous scenic spot, but little did I know that this trip would turn out to be one of the most unforgettable experiences of my life.We set off from our hometown early one morning, embarking on a long road trip that would take us across several provinces. The first few hours were quite uneventful, as we passed through familiar landscapes and cities. However, as we ventured deeper into the northwestern regions, the scenery began to change dramatically.Vast expanses of barren deserts stretched out as far as the eye could see, punctuated by the occasional oasis or small town. The dry, arid air felt alien to me, having grown up in a more temperate climate. I couldn't help but marvel at the resilience of the people who called these harsh lands their home. After what seemed like an eternity of driving, we finally caught our first glimpse of Qinghai Lake. It was a breathtaking sight – a vast, shimmering expanse of deep blue water, surrounded by rugged snow-capped peaks. As we drew closer, the lake seemed to grow more and more immense, until it felt like we were standing on the shores of an inland sea.We spent the next few days exploring the area around the lake, hiking along its shores, and taking in the stunning natural beauty. One of the highlights was a boat tour on the lake itself, where we were able to appreciate its sheer vastness and the crystal-clear waters up close. But the most memorable part of the trip was our encounter with the local Tibetan communities. We had the privilege of being invited into a traditional Tibetan tent, where we were served yak butter tea and treated to a mesmerizing display of traditional Tibetan dances and songs. The warmth and hospitality of these people, despite their simple living conditions, left a deep impression on me. They seemed to possess a profound connection to the land and a sense of contentment that was utterly foreign to my urban upbringing. As we reluctantly bid farewell to Qinghai Lake and began our journey back home, I couldn't help but feel a profound sense of gratitude and awe. This trip had opened my eyes to the incredible diversity and beauty of our vast country, and the resilience and richness of its many cultures.More than that, it had instilled in me a newfound appreciation for the natural world and a desire to explore and understand the world beyond my familiar surroundings. As I gazed out the window at the passing landscapes, I knew that this journey had changed me in ways I couldn't yet fully comprehend – but I was eager to discover what other wonders and lessons awaited me in the future.篇6My Most Memorable Summer VacationWow, where do I even begin? This past summer was one of the most exciting and adventurous times of my life! You see, my family and I went on this incredible trip to a place called Yellowstone National Park. It's this massive park located in the United States, and it's famous for its beautiful landscapes, incredible wildlife, and amazing natural wonders. The journey to Yellowstone was long, but it was totally worth it. We drove for what felt like forever, passing through endless fields, mountains, and forests. My little brother and I spent most of the time playing games and trying not to annoy each other too much. When we finally arrived, I couldn't believe my eyes!As we entered the park, the first thing that struck me was the sheer vastness of it all. Towering mountains surrounded us, their peaks still covered in snow even though it was summer. The air was crisp and fresh, and I could smell the pine trees all around us. It was like stepping into a whole new world! Our first stop was the famous Old Faithful geyser. I've seen pictures and videos of it before, but nothing could have prepared me for witnessing it in person. We waited patiently forabout an hour, and then suddenly, without warning, the ground started rumbling. A few seconds later, a massive column of hot water and steam erupted from the ground, shooting up into the sky! It was absolutely breathtaking. After watching Old Faithful, we went on a hike through the park's winding trails. Our guide, a friendly park ranger named Sarah, taught us all about the different plants and animals that call Yellowstone home. We saw bison grazing peacefully in the meadows, graceful elk wandering through the forests, and even a couple of bears in the distance (which I have to admit, was a bit scary at first!).One of the highlights of our trip was visiting the Grand Prismatic Spring. This is a massive hot spring that's famous for its incredible colors. The water ranges from deep blues and greens to brilliant oranges and reds, all swirling together in a mesmerizing pattern. It was like something out of a dream!Another unforgettable experience was our visit to the Mammoth Hot Springs. These are a series of terraced hot springs that have created these incredible limestone formations over thousands of years. Walking among them felt like exploring an alien planet or something straight out of a fantasy novel.Throughout our stay, we encountered all sorts of amazing wildlife. We saw herds of elk grazing in the meadows, majestic bald eagles soaring overhead, and even a few playful otters frolicking in the rivers. My favorite, though, had to be the adorable little chipmunks that would scurry around our campsite, begging for food scraps. One evening, as we were sitting around the campfire roasting marshmallows, we were treated to one of nature's most incredible shows – the Northern Lights. The night sky came alive with swirling greens, pinks, and purples, dancing across the heavens in a mesmerizing display. It was like nothing I had ever seen before, and I'll never forget it.As our time in Yellowstone came to an end, I found myself feeling a strange mix of emotions. On one hand, I was sad to be leaving this incredible place behind. But on the other hand, I was overflowing with gratitude for having had the opportunity to experience such natural beauty and wonder. This trip taught me so much about the incredible diversity of life on our planet and the importance of preserving these natural treasures for future generations. It also reminded me of how small and insignificant we humans are in the grand scheme ofthings, and how we should approach nature with a sense of humility and respect. As we drove away from Yellowstone, I couldn't help but feel a sense of awe and wonder at the world around us. This summer vacation was truly one for the books, and I know that the memories I made there will stay with me forever.。
