It was first built in the year 504 AD, during the Liang Dynasty! The temple grounds have the most beautiful gardens filled with ponds, bridges, and pavilions. My class went on a field trip there last year and I had a blast. The temple even has a huge bronze bell that was cast over 900 years ago. It's one of the biggest and oldest bells in all of China!Another amazing spot is Zhougeng Ancient Town. This preserved village looks like it's frozen in time from the Ming and Qing dynasties. The little cobblestone alleyways, traditional houses, and city walls give you a glimpse into what Taizhou was like centuries ago. I always beg my parents to take me there so I can explore the old streets and see craftspeople making things by hand, just like they did long ago.While Taizhou has incredible history, it's also a modern, thriving city in the present day. The downtown area is always bustling with people going about their business. We have towering skyscrapers, massive shopping malls, and every kind of restaurant you can imagine. The Taizhou World Trade Center in the central business district is one of the tallest buildings around. At night, the whole area lights up with dazzling displays and neon signs. It's like you're in a big, bright city that never sleeps!Even with all the modern development, Taizhou is overflowing with beautiful parks and gardens. Pretty much every neighborhood has some kind of green space with winding paths, ponds with koi fish, and sculpted gardens. My favorite is Yingzhou Park located on Yingzhou Island in the heart of the city. It has an awesome playground, a little amusement park area, and even Roman-style ruins to explore.
