He saw a man at the back of his house. The man had a box in his hand.
He put the box on the ground and then he ran away. Mr. Black saw some smoke.

They are finding new medicines every day. Many illnesses can now be cured.

There are many places of interest to see in London. If you want to go shopping, you can find some of the best shops in Oxford Street.
Lesson 8 Not for jazz
There is a new hotel in London. The hotel is expensive and there are a lot of visitors there.
I know someone who went to the hotel last month. He is a jazz pianist.
He arrived at the hotel late at night and went straight to bed.
The next morning, the manager of the hotel asked him to leave.
Lesson 9 The best and the worst
We went to a small hotel on holiday last summer. It was in the countryside.
We had a big room on the second floor. There was a small balcony outside the room.
The countryside was really beautiful. The hotel garden was full of flowers and trees.
Lesson 10 Mr. James Scott
Mr. James Scott is an engineer. He lives in the country. He has two daughters.
They are fond of horses and dogs. Mr. Scott has two dogs and three horses.
The girls are always very busy with the dogs and horses. These are their pets.。
