A “blogger” is a person who writes on an Internet computer Web site called a “blog”. The word “blog” is a short way of saying web log, or personal Web site. Anyone can start a blog , and they can write about anything they like. There are millions of blogs on the Internet today. They provide news, information and ideas to many people who read them. They contain links to other Web sites. And they provide a place for people to write their ideas and react to the ideas of others. Some people develop serious blogs to present political and other ideas. For example, the Republican and Democratic parties in the southern state of Kentucky recently started their own blogs. And American companies are beginning to use blogs to advertise their products.
A research company called Perseus has studied more than 3,000 Web logs. It says that blogs are most popular with teenage girls. They use them to let their friends know what is happening in their lives. The study also says that more than 100,000 bloggers stopped taking part in the activity after a year. At the same time, some long-standing blogs have ended. Last week, blogging leader Dave Winer closed his free blog service, . He says the site became too costly to continue. He started the blog four years ago, and thousands of people had written on it.
However, one blog that is still going strong is called Rebecca’s Pocket. It involves much useful information for readers. Rebecca Blood created the Web site in 1999. She wrote about the history of blogs on the site. That article led to a book called “The Weblog Handbook”. It has been translated into four languages so far. Ms Blood says Rebecca’s Pocket gets about 30,000 visitors a month. She writes about anything and everything----politics, culture and movies. She recently provided medical advice. And she wrote about how to prevent people from stealing money from online bank
accounts.
61. The text is written mainly to ____

Functional beverages (饮料) are a foreign concept referred to as “drinks for specific uses”. They include sports drinks, which have vitamins and minerals to help replace the salt and minerals lost in sweat; and nutrient drinks, which have caffeine and something to make people excited. Functional beverages have been known in Asia and Europe for some time, but are relative newcomers to the US market.
Previously, market participants believe that drinks were all about refreshment. Functional beverages originated the concept that beverages could be sold as a “lifestyle” product. In fact, one of the main forces at work among the Americans is the lack of time. This sense of speed causes consumers to look for quick and easy solutions: functional beverages have benefited from this attitude, as have functional foods. It is easier to get a bottle of juice than eat an apple. Young consumers are especially drawn to the idea of drinking a functional beverage that provides energy as well as a cool image. Other consumers who want to do something good for themselves find functional drinks better than more conventional (普通的)beverages that do not have the added “good for you” poisoning.
But some experts suggest consumers should be careful in choosing a brand. For example, some are best after intense exercise and some are not good for people with high blood pressure or heart disease. Experts have said that today’s functional beverages are more about health and fashion than thirst and that the industry needs regulating.
65. According to the passage, which of the following is NOT TRUE?
A. Functional beverages include sports drinks and nutrient drinks.
B. People in Europe have known functional beverages for some time.
C. Functional beverages appeared in America at first.
D. Functional beverages are drinks for specific uses.
66. The word “originated” in paragraph 2 means .
A. hold
B. began
C. brought
D. took
67. It can be inferred from the passage that________________

you” poisoning.
B. Think twice before choosing functional beverages.
C. Young consumers like functional beverages for both energy and cool image.
D. Functional beverages are more popular in the USA than those in Asia and Europe.
68. The text is mainly about .
A. how functional beverage developed
B. what functional beverage includes
C. what functional beverage is
D. what benefit functional beverage brings to us

After the age of sixteen, the number of brain cells begins to decrease at a speed of several million a year. They simply die off. We know that in certain types of activity, the human brain is at its peak(高峰) in the early twenties, when it has collected enough information to be able to use the vast number of cells freely in the most effective way. Pure mathematics is one of the fields in which this happens, and we know that Albert Einstein made all his world-shaking discoveries between the age of about 20 and 25, and spent the rest of his life tidying them up and arranging them.
But in certain other types of activity (of which being an author is perhaps one) experience is more important than sharpness of brain, and there one usually finds that a person reaches his or her peak much later in life.
Besides sharpness of brain and experience, here is another thing that is very important; and that is wisdom; one can have a very quick, inventive brain and plenty of experience, but if one uses these foolishly, one harms both oneself and others. Wisdom does not always come with age. There are plenty of foolish middle-aged people. But the average person tends to learn wisdom as he gets older, usually by making lots of mistakes.
Leaning to be wise is basically learning what is not possible. And it is possible but so difficult that it is not worth all the trouble one has to go through to get there. Mostly, it is learning about human nature. One can read and hear a lot about how to make the world a better place, which would be found if it was based on an accurate observation of human nature. But it is basically a waste of time because it is not.
69.According to the writer, the great discoveries made by Albert Einstein were mainly a result in ____________.
A.years of hard work B.sharpness of the brain
C.rich experience D.his deep understanding of the nature 70.Some people achieve success much later in life because ______.
A.their work often requires much experience
B.they do not have a chance to show their talent
C.they have to learn lessons from failures
D.they fail to realize earlier the importance of hard work
71.The importance of wisdom lies in the fact that __________.
A.it helps to avoid various mistakes
B.it contributes to one’s creativity
C.it encourages one to go forward in face of difficulty
D.it provides the right direction of efforts
72.What does “it” in the paragraph4 refer to ________.
A.sharpness of brain B.rich experience
C.making lots of mistakes D.Leaning to be wise

God replied, “ Among all the angels, I have chosen one for you. She will be waiting for you and will take care of you.”
“But ”, said the child, “tell me here in Heaven I don ’t do anything else but sing and smile. That ’s what I need to be happy!”

“That ’s easy ”, said the God, “Your angel will tell you the most beautiful and sweet words you will ever hear, and with much patience and care, your angel will teach you how to speak.”
The child said, “I’ve heard on the earth there are bad men. Who will protect me?”
God put his arm around the child, saying, “Your angel will defend you--- even if it means risking her own life! ”
The child looked up at God saying, “And what am I going to do when I want to talk to you?” God smiled at the child saying, “Your angel will place your hands together and will teach you how to pray.”
The child looked sad, saying, “But I will always be sad because I will not see you anymore .” God hugged the child, “Your angel will always talk to you about me and will teach you the way to come back to me, even though I will always be next to you.”
At that moment there was much peace in Heaven, but voices from the earth could already be heard.
The child, in a hurry, asked softly, “oh God, if I am about to leave now, please tell me my
angel ’s name!”
God replied, “Your angel ’s name is of no importance … you will simply call her ____5_____!”

Good morning, my topic is “What Can New Technology Bring Us?”. As we all know, we are now, in the 21st century which is the new technology century. In my opinion there are three advantages that new technology can bring us.
First, countries are developing faster and faster with the help of new technology, especially the Internet. What does it bring us? It makes the world smaller and smaller. Second, new technology helps people directly and human beings can benefit from it. Some people are suffering from strange diseases, and they cannot help themselves and even the doctors cannot help them. But they can announce their problems on the Internet, and then famous doctors and some warm-hearted people from all over the world may help them. The third advantage is,I think, that new technology helps our world, helps our earth.New technologies play an important part right here in solving environmental problems.
