电子信息工程专业本科教育项目学分制培养方案

一、项目介绍Background of Program
经教育部批准,武汉科技大学与美国桥港大学(University of Bridgeport)合作举办电子信息工程专业本科项目,项目批准书编号为MOE42US2A20121259N,办学层次和类别为本科学历教育,纳入国家普通高等教育招生计划。

本项目由中美双方共同制定人才培养方案和教学计划,并共同选派优秀教师任教,主要课程采用英语或双语教学,其中美方承担约1/3核心课程的教学。

修业年限为4年,学生可在武汉科技大学完成全部学业,修完规定课程学分并考核合格,可获得武汉科技大学本科毕业证书和学士学位。

Upon approval of the Ministry of Education, PRC (Program Approval No. MOE42US2A20121259N) and pursuant to the Co-operative Education Agreement signed between the parties, Wuhan University of Science and Technology, China and University of Bridgeport, USA have agreed to jointly offer the Bachelor of Engineering in Electronic Information Engineering Program beginning from 2013 for 4 years. The entry requirements of the Program are: (a) successful completion of the three-year senior secondary education in China, and (b) meeting the admissions requirements of WUST in the national College Entrance Examination.
The Program operates based on an Academic Plan and Curriculum jointly designed by both universities, which also provide qualified and experienced faculty to deliver teaching in the joint program to be shared as follows: WUST 2/3 vs. UB1/3 for core courses. The medium of instruction of the courses will be English or English complemented by Chinese on the part of the WUST faculty.
二、培养目标Objectives of Program
本专业培养适应新世纪中国和世界社会发展需要,具有国际视野、良好的科学素养和创新精神,系统掌握电子信息工程基本理论和实践技能,具备相关领域工程技术基础、专业知识和再学习能力,能从事各类电子设备和信息系统的研究、设计、制造、开发和管理的复合型高级专门人才。

This program is intended for high-achieving graduates with the theoretical foundation and technical expertise in cutting-edge technologies in electronic information engineering, who can cater to the needs of the industry in China and the world over. The graduates are expected to become well-rounded engineers equipped with fundamental knowledge, skills, and relearning capacity in related fields, who also possess a global outlook in science and a prospect for innovation which can better prepare them for careers in researching, designing, manufacturing, developing or administering electronic devices and information systems.
三、培养要求Outcomes of Program
本专业学生应具备电子科学与技术、信息与通信工程等工程技术基础、宽广专业知识、一定的工程实践经验以及在专业方向上进行深入学习和了解相关新技术的能力。

学生毕业后可在电子科学与技术、信息与通信工程等IT领域及相关领域从事技术开发、工程设计、产品制造、技术应用及管理等工作,具有研究本专业领域理论问题及解决实际问题的能力,具有一定的创新意识和创新能力。

In this Program, the students will learn the basic theories, professional expertise, and hands-on skills in the fields of electronic science and technology, and information and communication engineering. They should also be academically prepared to pursue further studies in a chosen field of specialization and to acquire cutting-edge technologies in the discipline area. In the course of their studies, they are expected to become professional developers, designers, manufacturers, or administrators in electronic science and technology, information and communications engineering or other fields of IT, where they can contribute to established theories and solve practical problems with an innovative mind.
四、毕业生应获得的知识、能力Knowledge and Skills Expected of Graduates
1.具有较扎实的自然科学基础,较好的人文、社会科学及经济管理科学基础,较强的社会责任感及团队协作精神;
2.较系统地掌握本专业领域技术基础和专业基础的理论知识、实践技能;
3.具有电子信息产品设计、研制、安装、调试、检测和维护的基本能力;
4.了解电子信息学科和现代电子信息技术的发展动态,具有应用新系统、新技术的初步能力;
5.具有较强的英语应用能力、计算机的操作和应用能力;
6.掌握文献检索、技术资料查询的基本方法,具有获取本专业新技术、新
知识的能力,具备撰写科学论文的基本能力;
7.具有初步的科学研究、科技开发及组织管理能力,具有较强的自学能力和创新精神。

1.To have a solid foundation in natural sciences, fundamental knowledge in humanities, social sciences, economics and management, and a keen sense
of social responsibility and team spirit;
2.To have a systematic understanding of the theories and hands-on skills in the electronic information engineering field and the relevant discipline
area;
3.To have the basic skills of designing, developing, installing, testing, and maintaining electronic information products;
4.To keep abreast with the cutting-edge developments in the electronic information discipline and modern electronic information technology;
5.To have a good proficiency in English language and a high level of computer literacy;
6.To learn the know-how of retrieving literature and technical information, to be able to acquire new techniques and knowledge in the field of
specialization, and to be able to write scientific papers;
7.To have basic skills required in research, technology development, and organization management, and to be able to learn through individual
efforts by cultivating an innovative mind.
五、专业主干课程Core Courses Offered
主干课程包括:计算机基础I 、计算机基础II、网络分析I、网络分析II、电子技术、模拟电子技术实验、数字电子技术、信号与系统、数字信号处理、随机信号处理、微机原理、单片机及接口技术、通信电子电路、通信原理等。

The core courses offered include: Computing Introduction I, Computing Introduction II, Network Analysis I, Network Analysis II, Electronic Technique, Analog Electronics Lab, Digital Electronics, Signals and Systems, Digital Signal Processing, Stochastic Signal Processing, Microprocessors, Single Chip Microcomputer and Interface Technique, Electronic Circuit for Communications, Principles of Communication.

七、授予学位Degree(s) to be offered
修业年限为4年,学生可在武汉科技大学完成全部学业,修完规定课程学分并考核合格,可获得武汉科技大学本科毕业证书和工学学士学位。

学生在本项目学习2学年后,若英语水平达到桥港大学入学标准,同时学业成绩达到双方大学要求,可选择自费赴美国桥港大学电气工程本科专业继续学习,桥港大学对国内阶段的学习认可60学分。

学生修完桥港大学电气工程本科专业其余60学分(通常需要2学年时间),可获得该校电气工程理学学士学位(Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering)及其美国ABET工程技术认证委员会相应认证,同时达到中方要求的还可获得武汉科技大学本科毕业证书和学士学位。

学生在本项目学习3学年后,若英语水平达到桥港大学入学标准,同时学业成绩达到双方大学要求,也可选择自费赴美国桥港大学通识本科专业继续学习,桥港大学对国内阶段学习认可90学分。

学生修完桥港大学通识本科专业其余30学分(通常需要1学年时间),可获得该校通识理学士学位(Bachelor of Science in General Studies),同时达到中方要求的还可获得武汉科技大学本科毕业证书和学士学位。

A student in the Program may choose to study for 4 years at WUST for WUST’s Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electronic Engineering and a relevant Certificate of Graduation subject to satisfactory completion of the Program.
As an alternative, the student can also choose to transfer to the University of Bridgeport’s undergraduate Electrical Engineering Program based in the US after having completed 2 years of study at WUST, on condition that s/he meets the English language requirement of UB and other requirements that may be imposed by either university. For her/his prior 2 years of study at WUST, UB will recognize 60 credits, which contributes to 1/2 of the total 120 credits required for a UB degree. At UB the student needs to study for about 2 additional years (60 credits) and, subject to completing all courses, will be awarded the UB Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering degree, which is accredited by Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET). Meanwhile, s/he will also attain the WUST Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electronic Information Engineering and a relevant Certificate of Graduation based on WUST’s recognition of the student’s credits earned at UB.
As another alternative, the student can also choose to transfer to University of Bridgeport’s undergraduate General Studies Program based in the US after having completed 3 years of study at WUST on condition that s/he meets the English language requirement of UB and other requirements that may be imposed by either university. For her/his prior 3 years of study at WUST, UB will recognize 90 credits, contributing to the total 120 credits required for a UB degree. At UB the student needs to study for
about 1 additional year (30 credits) and, subject to completing all courses, will be awarded the UB Bachelor of Science in General Studies. Meanwhile, s/he will also attain the WUST Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electronic Information Engineering and a relevant Certificate of Graduation based on WUST’s recognition of the student’s credits earned at UB.
