形形色色插入语

英语中的插入语是插在句子中的一个词，一个短语或一个句子，通常被逗号、破折号或句子的其他部分隔开，它与句子的其他部分之间没有语法上的关系。插入语在句中通常是对一句话的一些附加解释，说明或总结；有时表示说话者的态度和看法；有时起强调的作用；有时是为了引起对方的注意；还可以起转移话题或说明事由的作用；或在两句之间起连结作用。它在句中的位置较为灵活，可置于句首、句中或句末。可以用作插入语的有：不定式、分词、副词、介词短语和句子等等.

1．不定式作插入语

to tell you the truth 老实说, to make a long story short长话短说，to be frank坦白地说，

to conclude 总之，to be sure确实，to sum up 总之，to be fair说句公道话，to be honest

坦诚地说，to be more exact确切地说，strange to say 说来奇怪，to be precise确切地

说，to begin with= to start with 首先, to be exact 确切的说，needless to say不用说

有些固定的不定式短语已完全被作为插入语使用.它们在句中与句子的主语间已不存在逻辑上的主、谓关系。常见的有：

1 To tell you the truth, you have given me masses of help.

说句实在话，你已经给了我不少的帮助了。

2 To be frank, I don’t quite agree with you.

坦率地说，我不太同意你的意见。

3 I think we’ll give him a gun，just to be safe.

我认为为了安全起见，还得给他一把枪。

2．分词作插入语

strictly speaking严格地说，generally speaking一般地说，frankly speaking坦率

的说，roughly speaking粗略的说,providing that…假定……，compared towith…

与…相比，judging from/by…从…判断，considering…考虑到…，talking

of/speaking of…说起…，supposing that…假定……, according to…, including…,

provided that如果……，owning to…由于等。

这些现在分词短语、过去分词短语已完全被作为插入语使用，它们在句中与句子的主语在逻辑上不存在主、被动关系。

1. Frankly speaking, I don’t like the job.坦率地说，我不喜欢这份工作。

2. Provided that you are a reporter，what should you do?假如你是个记者，你该怎么办？

3. Given more time, he’ll make a first-class tennis player.

3. 副词或副词短语作插入语

anyway无论如何,不管怎样, indeed的确，surely无疑，however然而，

obviously显然，frankly坦率地说，naturally自然，luckily 或happily for sb.

算某人幸运，fortunately幸运地是, unfortunately不幸地是strangely奇怪，

honestly真的，namely即，clearly很显然，happily高兴的是，surprisingly（惊

奇的是）,strangely enough说来奇怪；奇怪的是, Personally个人地,though置于

句末，作“可是、但是”讲, briefly简单地说, otherwise否则，besides而且，

however然而, , , nevertheless仍然，不然, still还，仍更, altogether总而言之等。

2. This is，surely，a very good book的确，这是一本很好的书。

conclusion=in total总之, in other words换句话说，in summary=to sum up=in general

一般说来，总的说来, in fact =as a matter of fact事实上，in a sense在某种意义上，

in sum／in short简而言之，in general一般说来，in the meantime/meanwhile在此期

间,同时, in my view在我看来，in his opinion/judgment按照他的意见判断，in

conclusion总之，in the first place首先，in addition此外，in that case 在那种情况下,

要是那样的话, on the one hand…on the other hand一方面…另一方面…，
