Step 1 Warming up & Revision
1. Greet the Ss.
2. Oral Communication.
Step 2 Presentation & Practice
Look, ask and answer.
1. Present a picture and ask the Ss the questions W hat’s this? What’s the weather like? And elicit the answers It’s a school. It’s cloudy to fill in the missing letter of the words school and cloudy. Then check some individuals to spell the words.
2.Point to the pictures and ask some Ss to answer with the structures Is this….? Is that…? And then have the Ss work in pairs.
3. Ask more questions by pointing the pictures using the structures Where is the…? It’s on / near the ….
4. Have Ss draw more buildings. And then, in pairs, the Ss take turns to ask and answer by using the structures. Where is the…? It’s on / near/next to the ….
5. Have Ss introduce the school like this It’s sunny today. Welcome
to our school. This is the playground. We play football here. The art room is on the first floor….Encourage the Ss use more sentences that they have learnt.
Listen, tick and say.
1.Play games to go over the vocabulary seen in Unit 3.
2. Present some pictures and make dialogue with the Ss by using What’ s the weather like in…..?It’s …and …in….
3. Guide the Ss to describe the weather in some cities. Lead out the express of What’ s the weather like in…..? / What’ s t he weather like there ? Then ask some Ss to translate some sentences. Ask the Ss to pay attention to this sentence pattern.
4. Listen, tick and say. Ask the Ss to finish the form.
A. Listen to the listening materials and tick out the correct
answer.
B. Listen again and check some individuals by repeating the
sentences.
C. Check the answers.
Step 3 Consolidation & Extension
1. Present a picture of world weather and encourage Ss make
dialogues.
2. Do exercises.
A. Read and choose.
B. Put the Chinese into English.
Step 4 Summary & Homework
1. Present the key points of this part and explain them.
2. Do homework.
A. Make a weather form of different cities and make a weather
report.
