【教学设计】Grammar Focus+Writing(3a,3b)+Self Check
【单元教材分析】
本单元是《新目标英语》系列教材之一Go for it 九年级第一单元的内容。

本单元的主题是“L e a r ning ho w t o l e a r n”,其功能项目是“T al k abou t ho w t o s t udy”。

本单元的语法结构为“by + doing”。

本单元通过听、说、读、写等的活动设置开展教学活动,引导学生运用本单元的语法及
核心句式谈论在学习中遇到的困难、向他人询问学习方法及提出建议。

同时帮助学生了解从英语
逐步扩展到物理、化学等其它学科的学习方法,养成良好的学习习惯。

本单元教学主要采用任务型语言教学(Task-Based Language Teaching)模式,完成任务的同时完成语言学习。

本单元建议安排5 个课时。

【课时教材分析】
本课是一节语法加写作课。

本课时的主要教学任务为引导学生运用本单元语法和句型谈论学习
方法或向他人询问或提出建议并完成有关学习方法的写作任务。

Grammar Focus 以表格的形式呈现了本单元语法和核心句型。

4a-4c 以不同的形式、分层次、分梯度针对Grammar Focus 的内容进行巩固训练。

3a 利用问题匹配进一步使学生理解和
掌握核心句型“How do you …?”及“By doing...”。

3b 以谈论各学科学习方法的形式对核心句
型“do s t h by doing”进一步进行巩固,3c以对话操练的形式对英语学习方法进行进一步的讨
论和总结,同时对Grammar Focus 的内容进行强化。

Writing (3a ,3b )将前面的Grammar Focus 从口头练习过渡到笔头练习,使学生在语篇中巩固本课重点。

3a 以表格讨论的形式对3b 的写作从写作内容、写作结构进行写前梳理。

3b 在提出写作任务的同时,为学生提
供了写作所用的句式结构和篇章结构,学生利用这些写作支架,写作任务的完成便能水到渠成。

同时,Self Check Self check 对本单元核心语言目标进行巩固练习。

通过本课学习,使学生最
终达到学会运用“by + doing”的结构,讨论学习方法,并促使学生对自己的学习方式进行总结
和改进。

【学情分析】
本单元的主题是谈论如何学习英语,这与学生进入毕业年级,需要更多关注自己的学业和
学习方法的情况非常切合,对学生是非常有意义的话题,学生会有极大的兴趣和积极性参与本
单元的话题讨论和学习。

教师需要注意把握学生想要学好英语的心理。

激发学生的学习兴趣,提升
学生的学习自信心。

本单元的主要语法结构“by + doing”,学生在之前的学习中已经见过多次,不会感到陌生,
掌握起来也较为容易。

且这一结构与本单元的话题讨论十分契合,学生能够在课堂讨论中大量的用到该结构。

教师应该给学生创造机会,让每一名学生都参与到学习方式的讨论中,鼓励学生大胆开口,引导他们进行大量地进行口笔头练习。

【教学设计】
【教学目标】
1.学生能熟练掌握和运用的词汇: repeat, note, physics, chemistry, pal, memorize,
pattern
2.学生熟练运用“Ho w do you p r a c t i c e lis t e ning? By w a t c hing E nglish p r og r ams.”句型
谈论学习方法。

3.学生能够运用本单元语法和句型谈论学习方法或向他人询问或提出建议并完成有关学习方法
的写作任务。

4.学生能够对自己的学习方法及时进行反思、总结和改进,并虚心接受他人建议。

【教学重难点】
重点:运用本单元语法和句型谈论学习方法或向他人询问或提出建议。

难点:学会运用本单元语法和句型完成有关学习方法的写作任务。

【课时安排】1 课时
【课前准备】
教师准备:制作一个用于谈论学习方法的幻灯片;设计课后巩固练习的幻灯片。

学生准备:复习、总结自己的学习方法;调查了解同学学习方法;对自己的学习方法进行反思和改进。

【教学方法】任务型教学法、情景交际法、自主学习合作学习相结合。

【教学过程】
Step1: Lead-in
1.Show a picture of a girl. Tell the s tudents:
This is my pen pal Weiwei. She is a good student. Yesterday she wrote an e-mail to me. She told me she has some problems and she is worried. Please read the e- mail and find out what problems she has.
2.Let the students read the e-mail.
3.Ask the students what problems she has.
Step 2 Discuss
[Task1]Discuss
1.Tell the students:
In order to help Weiwei, the key is to help her find out the best ways to learn. Let’s discuss in groups, try to find out the best ways to learn.
2.Let the students discuss in groups.
[Task 2] Report
Ask the students report their result like this:
We think the best way to learn is reading more books. We can learn Chinese by reading more books.
Step 3 Role-play the conversation
1.Tell the students:
We have talk about so many ways to learn. But Weiwei said she didn’t get good grades in some subjects especially in English. So we have to find more ways to learn English.
2.Tell the students:
Learning English includes many parts: learn new words, learn grammar, practice listening, practice speaking, improve reading and improve writing.
3.Ask the students: How do you learn new words?
Let the students answer the question one by one.
Show the students the ways to learn new words.
4.Ask the students: How do you learn grammar?
Let the students practice the conversation.
A: How do you learn grammar?
B: I learn grammar by doing grammar exercises.
A: What about you?
B: I learn grammar by taking lots of grammar notes.
5.Ask the students report like this:
I learn grammar by doing grammar exercises.
My partner learns grammar by taking lots of grammar notes.
6.Show the students the ways to learn grammar.
Step 4 Make a survey
[Task1]Do the survey
1.Ask the students :
How can you practice listening/ practice speaking/improve reading/ improve writing.
2.Let students do a survey. Tell the students:
When you do the survey, you can choose any question, and you can ask any student. Then write down your results.
[Task 2] Report
Ask the students report like this:
I asked ten students about how to practice listening.
Most students practice listening by listening to the tape.
Step 5 Writing
1.Tell the students:
We have talk about so many ways to learn English. Now we can write a e-mail to Weiwei and give her some advice. But how can we change these sentences into an article. The writing skills are changing and adding.
2.Teach the students writing skills. And show the students how to change the
sentences into an article.
3.Tell the students:
Now, you know how to write the e-mail. Let’s try.
4.Give the students enough time to write. When the students are writing, the teacher walk around and help them.
5.Ask some students show their articles to the class. The teacher and the students discuss together, help them correct the m istakes.
Step 6 Homework
1.Finish the e-mail.
2.finish the exercises of Self Check.
