Identifying/ pointing to pictures/objects by listening to simple words
Play PB tape again. Ask the pupils to listen to the rhyme and point to the children. Explain that an athlete is someone who trains to do sport. Then ask the pupils to circle the correct names of the children. Get the pupils to say the rhyme.

Ask the pupils to look at the first part of the page and listen to WB tape. They need to tick the correct answers according to what they hear on the cassette.
Ask the pupils to work in pairs to act the complete conversation. The pupils take turns to role-play Tim and his mother.

3.Practice
Teach the pupils to toy Box by putting the toys in the cardboard box. Write the word toys on the outside with a thick pen.

The Second Period
a.Main point:Using the prepositions ‘in’, ‘on’ and ‘under’ to talk about locations
Play PB tape and ask the pupils to listen to the sounds and the words. Point out the spelling of these sounds and the silent ‘e’ on the end of Jane, Game, Pete and athlete.
Move the toys around and get the pupils to tell me about the position of the toys. Give prompts if necessary.
c)Practice
(Books open.) Play PB tape. The pupils listen and follow in their books. Continue to play the tape and ask the pupils to repeat the words after the beeps.
Play PB tape for the pupils and ask them to say the sentences after the tape.
Ask the pupils to come up and play the roles of the boy, his father and his mother.

Ask the pupils to read the story again. Read the words in the speech bubbles with the pupils. Demonstrate how to do the first one with the pupils as an example. Check the answers.
