as soon as“一……

in favour of “支持”;in celebration of “为庆祝”; in terms of“依据,按照";in need of“需要”。

11. A All the best!“(祝你)一切顺利!”;Take your time.“从容做,

other than“除了”;more than“不仅,不止”;better than“超过,多于”;rather than“而不是”。

16。

B 综合整个语篇及文章最后一段“I would encourage people not to allow。

17。

C take piano lessons

18. B 由下文“I was completely deaf" “not as a deaf musician”“I was

24. C 根据文意和句子结构可判断,C项imagination(想象力)为正

28。

D 由上下文语境,再加上衔接词and(注意文中没用but,说明此处表示并列,而非转折)可推知,Evelyn的行为自然要遭到老师的反对。

.had been written specially for solo percussionists."

己,故D项limited(限制)为最佳答案。

41. D 根据第三段中的“…while climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in Kenya
with his girlfriend, they stopped for a time at 13,000 feet above sea
level—in order to get married。

One possible version:
Dear Betty,
In your last letter, you asked me how to deal with difficulties in life. I’ll give you some of my
understanding and advice。

Life is not always full of smiles and flowers。

Every one has his own difficulties no matter how high his position is or how great his achievement is。

Of course,I’m no exception.
At first, I felt so discouraged about the difficulties that I fell into depression。

Sometimes I even put the blame on others。

Soon, I was able to use my own abilities to overcome difficulties.
It is better to clear away your difficulties that appear in your way of life rather than run away from them。

Deal with difficulties with joyful energy and enthusiasm, and you will find the difficulties are really not so hard as they appear and they will disappear in due course。

Best wishes!
Yours sincerely,
Wang Fang。
