Unit 4 Global Warming：强调句
it在强调结构中
英语表达中，要强调句子的某一成分，一般可用强调句型：It is (was) +被强调部分+ that (who) + 句子其它部分被强调的部分指人时，除可用that外，还可换用who（强调宾语指人时也可用whom）。

使用强调句型时，应注意以下事项：
一、判断是不是强调句型的关键。

去掉强调结构中的It is (was) … that(who)…后，剩下的词仍能组成一个完整的句子，就是强调句型。

试比较：
1. It is strange that he didn’t come yesterday.
2. It is you and Tom that didn’t come yesterday.
二、可以强调的成分
1. 强调主语
1).It is I who am to blame. 是我该受责怪。

2).It was your uncle that (who) came yesterday.昨天来的是你叔叔。

2. 强调宾语
1). It was a new pen that Mother gave me . 母亲给我的是一支新钢笔。

2). It was a book that I bought for my son. 我为儿子买的是一本书。

3. 强调状语（时间、地点、方式、原因等）
1). It was in the classroom that I left my umbrella. 我把雨伞就落在了教室里。

2). It is at eleven that the train leaves. 火车是在十一点钟离开。

3). It was just as he ordered that I acted. 我正是照他吩咐的那样做的。

4). It was because he was in trouble that I tried my best to help him.正是因为他有困难我才尽力帮助他
4. 强调宾补
1). It was red that we painted the gate. 我们把门油漆成红的颜色。

2). It was chairman that they elected him . 他们选他担任的是主席的职务。

三、强调主语时，that或who后面的谓语动词的形式仍然取决于原句中的主语；be的变化只有is和was两种形式，如果要表示现在时将来时的其它各种形式时，就用It is…, 表达过去时的各种形式时，用It was….一般要与谓语动词的时态一致。

如：
1. It is I who/ that am an English teacher.
2. It is the boy who/ that speaks English best in the class.
3. It was on Sunday that he gave George this ticket.
4. It is the little girl who/ that has broken the glass.
四、各种强调句型
1.陈述句式：It is (was) +被强调部分+ that (who) + 句子其它部分.
It was in the park that you met Tom yesterday.
2.一般疑问句式： Is (Was) it +被强调部分+ that (who) + 句子其它部分 ?
Was it in the park that you met Tom yesterday?
3.特殊疑问句式：Wh- is (was) it +被强调部分+ that (who) + 句子其它部分 ?
When was it that you met Tom in the park?
4. 含有not until的句型：It is/ was not until+被强调部分+that+句子其它部分.
It was not until yesterday that you met Tom in the park.
It was not until he came back that I knew the result.
