本单元主要是让学生学习我们常见动物的名称和学习用一些简单的形容词来描述动物,学会运用why, what, where引导的问句来表达个人对动物的喜好,了解动物的外形、生活习性及主要产地,并能运用英语简单地描述自己喜欢的动物,培养和激发学生热爱动物、保护动物、维护生态平衡的思想感情。

教学重点和难点
1. 重点:
①掌握动物单词的表达法,及谈论自己最喜欢的动物的表达法。
②掌握动物特点的形容词,并能谈论喜欢某一种动物的原因。
③掌握介绍来历的表达法。
2.难点:
①表达动物的词汇的读写。
②词组kind of的用法。
③利用所学知识与他们对有关动物的话题进行简单交际。
教学设计
(1)通过动物图片展示学习新的词汇和句型。
(2)通过多媒体展示活动,巩固词汇记忆和灵活使用句型。
(3)句型学习强调情景化和语境化,在对话交流中自然输入。
(4)设计课堂以活动为中心,强调用中学,学中用。
练习设计
(1)按教学内容设计联系,作到每节课的练习有针对性、趣味性和时效性。
(2)口语练习强调情景性和真实性,布置的口头作业结合学生实际生活,如调查自己的家庭成员以及他(她)们所喜欢的动物以及为什么喜欢并陈述理由等。
Period 1(1a-2b)
1.对话内容学习why开头的特殊疑问句用because来回答。
2.学习下列词汇:zoo ,animal, tiger, elephant, koala, dolphin, panda, lion,
penguin,giraffe,smart,cute,fun,ugly,beautiful,clever,inte-lligent,friendly,shy, kind of。
3.重难点。
本课时的重点是学习动物的词汇和学习why开头的特殊疑问句及回答。
难点是对这些单词的拼写记忆。

Step1 Show and learn animals
1.Teacher show some lively pictures and ask : What’s this? What’re these?
Help students answer :It’s a tiger. They’re tigers. Learn 8 animals one by one like this. (板书新单词)
2.Practice the words in drills.
教师通过展示动物图片,边介绍边学习,并及时在黑板上板书这些单词。
图片教学既直观形象,又方面有效。
而单词的跟读可设计一些升降调和韵律的变化,使得学生的朗读变得朗朗上口。
Step 2 dialogue
运用已学的do you like--?Why--?句型练习单词,同时为下面的教学活动热身。
Step 3 Look and match (Section A, 1a)
这活动从开始的听说到了读,能让学生认识单词,理解其意义。

第二人称可以省略

表示说话人的建议Sb 要用宾格
3.why 引导的特殊疑问句就原因进行提问,用because 进行回答

练习句型和形容词的用法,换用不同的人称编对话,巩固所学单词和句型。
Step 6 2a 2b
2a,2b为情景化的听力练习,通过这一步可以让学生体会到语言的交际功能,同时学生开始接触较长对话,教师应尽量让学生通过多读、多说来培养他们的语感。
Step7 exercise
巩固并熟悉新的单词和句型。
Step8 make a dialogue
通过操练用于生活实际,让学生在活动中进一步巩固,同时也充分体现了英语学习中听说领先的原则。
这一步要求两个学生之间从简单模仿课本句型到用自己的东西进行有意义地操练句型。
体现了循序渐进的教学原则和学以致用的教学目标。

Alice is from the USA. Her favorite animals are pandas. She likes them because they’re cute and smart.
在语言知识落实之后,就需要在生活中找到模拟的真实语言环境加以训练,学生很兴奋,气氛热烈,这就是任务型教学模式的魅力。

Please write nine words from the list . On the Bingoboard. demonstrate how to play the game.

Talk about the pictures.
Then ask the students to pay attention to picture b.
Then ask them to talk about the other pictures in the same way.
Ask some pairs to present their dialogues to the class.
Say: Now look at the six words in activity 1a I will say each one and you have to repeat after me.
Help the students to read the words and the picture, and then match the description words with the pictures a---f. Step3.Pair work (1b)
Ask the students to talk about the pictures in activity 1a.
Point to the picture of the policeman.
Ask the students to repeat.
Step4. Practice (1c).
Ask the students to name some other jobs.
Ask the students to say , write this list of jobs on the blackboard.
Ask the students to make statements about the list of jobs on the blackboard.
You can use the words in activity 1a.to describe the jobs. Then ask them to present their statements to the class. Step5. Listening (2a and 2b)
Ask the students to Listen to the conversation and write the jobs they want to have in the future.
Play the recording the first time. Ask the students to Listen and write down the names of the jobs.
Then ask the students to Listen to the conversation again and write down why they are interested in each job.
Play the tape again. Ask the students to fill in the chart. Then check the answers. Play the tape and ask the students to repeat.
Step6. Group work (2c)
Ask the students to read the statement in the picture in activity 2c.
Ask the students to say what they want to be and tell why.

Step2 Presentation(3a)
Ask the students to read the three newspaper ads.
Help the students to understand some language items they can not understand.
Then Ask the students to answer the following questions.

Call attention to the newspaper ad.
Then Ask the students to fill in the blanks using words from this section.
Check the answers.
Step4.Writing (3c)
Ask the students to make their own want ad.
After a few minutes, Ask some students to present their writing to the whole class.
Step5. Group work
Ask the students to read the conversation
Answer any questions the students may have about the conversation
Say: We have just written about want ads. What jobs did your classmates write about? Do you want to know? Now work in groups. Ask questions to find out what jobs each person wrote about. You can use sentences like the ones we just read.
Then ask some groups to present their dialogues to the whole class.
