珠穆朗玛峰(Qomolangma),简称珠峰,又译作圣母峰, 尼泊尔称为萨加马塔峰,也叫“埃非勒斯峰”(Everest), 位于中华人民共和国和尼泊尔交界的喜马拉雅山脉之上, 终年积雪。高度8844.43米,为世界第一高峰,中国最美的、 令人震撼的十大名山之一。
珠峰所在的喜马拉雅山地区原是一片海洋,在漫长的地 质年代,从陆地上冲刷来大量的碎石和泥沙,堆积在喜马 拉雅山地,形成了这里厚达3万米以上的海相沉积岩层。 以后,由于强烈的造山运动,使喜马拉雅山地区受挤压而 猛烈抬升,据测算,平均每一万年大约升高20~30米,直 至如今,喜马拉雅山区仍处在不断上升之中。
珠穆朗玛峰,峰高势伟,地理环境独特,峰顶的最低气温 常年在零下34℃。山上一些地方常年积雪不化,冰川、冰 坡、冰塔林到处可见。峰顶空气稀薄,空气的含氧量只有 东部平原地区的四分之一,经常刮七八级大风。十二级大 风也不少见。风吹积雪,四溅飞舞,弥漫天际。

Therefore, the passage from Unit 7 is a little more difficult for them to understand, for there are a lot of new words in this article. They need time to know and learn to use these words. So i focus on the general comprehension of the article and lead the students to feel the dangers and the spirit of the climbers. I try to help them understand the sentences and retell the whole text by using the new words, which helps them understand the text better and practice the new words in certain situation. According to the levels of the students, I design the PPT in such an order like this: PICTURE-MEANING-UNDERSTANDING-SPEAKING效果分析1. 由于换教室上课,学生刚上课时略显紧张,快速阅读阶段学生完成任务时不够积极,完成度未像想象中的那么好。

2. 精度环节学生思维活跃,积极发言,完成任务的速度很快,理解精准到位,通过练习达到了理解文章细节的目标,也实现了基本的信息转换。

3.复述环节学生能够积极合作,通过关键词、图片等提示口述较为复杂内容。

教材分析:This unit is something about geography. It presents the big numbers and the structure of measures. Itmaintains the comparatives and superlatives.This part of the unit is reading. It’s an introduction of Mount Qomolangma.
