难忘的旅行英语作文120词初中全文共6篇示例,供读者参考篇1An Unforgettable AdventureHey there! I'm so excited to share with you an amazing adventure I had recently. It all started when my parents told me we were going on a family trip to the mountains. At first, I wasn't too thrilled because, you know, spending time with your parents can be kinda boring sometimes. But little did I know, this trip would turn out to be one of the most epic experiences of my life!We packed our bags and hit the road early one Saturday morning. The drive was long, but I kept myself entertained by listening to music and playing games on my phone. After what felt like forever, we finally arrived at our destination – a cozy little cabin nestled deep in the heart of the mountains. As soon as we stepped out of the car, I was blown away by the stunning scenery. Towering peaks stretched as far as the eye could see, blanketed in lush green forests and crowned with glistening snow caps. The air was so fresh and crisp, I felt like I could breathe in all the wonders of nature. The first day, we went on a short hike to explore the area around our cabin. I have to admit, I was a bit skeptical at first, but the trail was absolutely breathtaking. We walked through a dense forest, the sunlight filtering through the canopy of trees, creating a mesmerizing play of light and shadow. Small streams trickled alongside the path, their gentle murmurs adding to the serene ambiance. As we hiked further, we came across a stunning waterfall cascading down a rocky cliff. The roar of the water was deafening, and the spray from the falls created a misty rainbow that danced in the air. We stopped to take some pictures and just soak in the majesty of nature. The next few days were filled with even more adventures. We went rock climbing, which was both terrifying and exhilarating at the same time. I'll never forget the feeling of conquering that seemingly insurmountable rock face and reaching the top, with the most incredible view of the valley stretching out below. We also went fishing in a crystal-clear mountain lake. I caught my first fish ever – a feisty little trout that put up quite a fight. Mom insisted on cooking it for dinner, and let me tell you, it was the most delicious fish I've ever tasted. One of the highlights of the trip was our night-time stargazing session. We bundled up in warm blankets and lay on the grass, staring up at the inky black sky adorned with millions of twinkling stars. It was as if the universe had unfurled its glittering cape just for us. We even spotted a few shooting stars, which made us all gasp in awe.As the days went by, I found myself becoming more and more enamored with the great outdoors. I realized that there was so much beauty and wonder in the world, beyond the confines of my video games and social media feeds. This trip gave me a newfound appreciation for nature and all its splendor. On our last day, as we were packing up to head home, I felt a pang of sadness in my heart. I didn't want to leave this magical place behind. But as we drove away, I knew that the memories I had made would stay with me forever.Looking back, this trip was so much more than just a vacation. It was a journey of self-discovery, a reminder that the world is a vast and wondrous place waiting to be explored. I learned to step out of my comfort zone and embrace new experiences wholeheartedly.Who knows, maybe this trip has ignited a lifelong love for adventure within me? All I know is that I can't wait for our nextfamily getaway, wherever it may take us. Until then, I'll cherish the memories of篇2An Unforgettable JourneyWow, where do I even begin? The trip to the Grand Canyon was hands down the most amazing adventure I've ever been on! I'm still trying to wrap my head around everything I saw and experienced. We left super early one morning, piling into the bus before the sun was even up. I was so excited but also a little nervous. After all, it was a long way to the Grand Canyon from my hometown. What if we got lost or broke down? My dad kept reassuring me that everything would be fine and that I'd have a blast. Little did I know just how right he'd be!The first several hours on the road were actually kind of boring. Sure, the scenery outside the window changed from suburban neighborhoods to farmland to wide open spaces. But I just wanted to get to our destination already! I passed the time by listening to music, reading comics, and annoying my little brother. Finally, after what felt like an eternity, the bus pulled over at a rest stop and our teacher made an announcement. "Okay everyone, we're about an hour away from the Grand Canyon! Grab a snack and use the restroom because our next stop is the main event!"My heart started racing with anticipation. An hour later, I understood why. As we crested a hill, the Grand Canyon suddenly came into view and it was breathtaking! The sheer size of it was mind-blowing. And the colors? Vibrant reds, oranges, and purples seemed to radiate from the rocky walls and buttes."Whooooaaaa," I must have said about a million times as we pulled into the visitor's center parking lot. I couldn't wait to get out and explore. Our guide spoke about the history and geology of the canyon as we did a short hike along the South Rim Trail. I tried my best to pay attention, but I was so awestruck by my surroundings that it was hard to focus. The next day, we went on a longer hike partway into the canyon itself via the Bright Angel Trail. That was both the coolest and most terrifying experience of my life so far! The trail was narrow with sheer drop-offs on either side. A few times, I got a little freaked out by the heights and had to stop for a breather. But our guides were so great and reassuring. They let us take it slow and didn't rush us at all.The views from the trail were simply unreal. I'll never forget the feeling of standing in that vast canyon, surrounded by ancient rock formations that made me feel so tiny and insignificant in the best way possible. It's impossible to capture the grandeur in a photo or video. You just have to see it with your own eyes. All too soon, it was time to head back home. Even though I was exhausted from all the hiking, I didn't want to leave. I could have spent weeks exploring every nook and cranny of the Grand Canyon. It's such an awe-inspiring natural wonder and I felt so lucky to have witnessed its majesty firsthand. The ride home seemed to take no time at all as I happily dozed off, my head still swirling with vivid images of the Grand Canyon. I knew this trip would give me memories to last a lifetime. In fact, I'm already bugging my parents about when we can go back! The Grand Canyon has literally taken my breath away and left me craving more adventures in the great outdoors.I have a feeling this is just the start of many unforgettable journeys ahead.篇3The Best Trip EverWow, where do I even begin? The trip to the Grand Canyon last summer was hands down the most amazing experience of my life so far! I'm still pinching myself to make sure it wasn't just an incredibly vivid dream. It all started when my parents surprised me and my little brother with the news that we were going on a big family road trip out west. At first, I wasn't really that excited.I figured it would just be a long car ride followed by looking at a big hole in the ground. Boy, was I wrong! The drive from our home in Ohio to Arizona was pretty brutal, I'll admit. My brother and I fought over the DS for a good portion of it. But my parents did a great job of trying to keep us entertained with road trip games, snacks, and letting us pick some cheesy 80s music to sing along to.After what felt like an eternity, we finally arrived at the Grand Canyon. The first glimpse I got of it legit took my breath away. I had seen pictures, but they didn't do it any justice at all. The sheer size and majesty of it was indescribable. The vibrant red and orange colors of the rocky cliffs were out of this world. We stayed for three nights at a rustic lodge right on the rim of the canyon. Each morning, I'd wake up in awe at the incredible view right outside our cabin window. Watching the sunrise over that amazing natural wonder was the most peaceful, serene experience.During our days there, we hiked along some of the easier rim trails, taking in all the different vantage points of the canyon. The employee guides we had were super nice and knowledgeable about all the geology and Native American history of the area. I probably learned more on that trip than an entire semester at school! My favorite part was definitely the sunset watching. We'd claim a prime viewing spot on one of the rim outlooks hours in advance. As the sun sank lower in the sky, the golden rays hitting the canyon walls created the most vibrant, fiery shades I've ever seen. It looked almost unreal, like a grandiose painting. On our last night, we lucked out and witnessed the most spectacular sunset show nature had to offer. The skies exploded in a dazzling array of crimsons, oranges, pinks, and purples unlike anything I'd seen before. As it grew darker, more stars became visible than I even knew existed. Staring up at thatendless, glittering night sky over the vividly lit up canyon is forever burned into my memory.I have to admit, I shed a few tears when it was time to head home. Part of me never wanted to leave that magical place behind. Although I know pictures can't possibly do it justice, I made sure to take a million of them to try and capture even an ounce of the Grand Canyon's splendor to share with my friends back home. That trip gave me so many priceless memories that I'll cherish forever. More than that though, it opened my eyes to the awesomeness of exploring new places and experiencing different cultures. I can't wait until my next big adventure! In the meantime, I've been bugging my parents about where we'll go next. They just smile and say it will have to be someplace pretty incredible to top the Grand Canyon. Thanks to them, I now have a life-long case of insatiable wanderlust. I couldn't be happier about it!篇4An Unforgettable TripLast summer, my family went on the most amazing trip ever! We went to Hawaii for two whole weeks. I had never been anywhere so beautiful and exciting before. The very first day, we went to the beach right after dropping our stuff off at the hotel. The sand was so soft and white, and the ocean was bright blue and crystal clear. I could see little fish swimming around just by looking into the shallow water! The waves were pretty big though, so we weren't allowed to go out too far.My little brother Chris got knocked over by a wave and ended up with a mouth full of salty ocean water. He started crying and said he wanted to go back to the hotel, but I convinced him to build a sandcastle with me instead. Once we got started on that, he forgot all about his wave incident. We made the biggest, most awesome sandcastle, complete with a moat all the way around it. A couple of other kids came over and helped us decorate it with shells and seaweed. It looked so cool! The next day, we went snorkeling for the first time. I was a little nervous about swimming out over the reef and putting my face in the water, but Dad showed me how to use the snorkeling gear first in the shallow end. Once I got the hang of it, snorkeling was amazing! We saw so many tropical fish in all different colorsand patterns. Some were striped, others had spots, and some were just one solid bright color like neon yellow or orange. A few bigger fish even swam right underneath me, which was both cool and scary at the same time! One of the highlights was when we took a helicopter tour over the islands. The views from up in the air were breathtaking. We flew over volcanic mountains, waterfalls, rain forests, and even an active volcano! The crater looked scary with red hot lava bubbling inside. The helicopter pilot said the lava can get over 2,000 degrees Fahrenheit. No way could I ever get that close on foot. Seeing it from the safety of the helicopter was incredible enough. We also went on a boat tour around the Napali Coast, which is on another part of the island with huge green cliffs towering high above the Pacific Ocean. Our boat captain said there are no roads at all over there, just a few hiking trails through the wilderness. Some of the cliffs looked over 4,000 feet high! I couldn't imagine trying to climb up something so massively tall. Our captain also took us into some sea caves along the base of the cliffs. The openings looked tiny from the outside, but once you went through, the caves opened up with cathedral-like ceilings and echoes. It was such a cool experience. My favorite activity though was definitely swimming with the manta rays one night. These are huge rays that are about 12 feet across, but they're very gentle. We took a small boat out into the ocean after sunset, and then got into the water wearing life jackets with special lights attached. The lights attracted plankton, which is what the manta rays eat. Within minutes, about 8 or 9 of these massive rays just glided right up to us, doing backflips and barrel rolls under the water. A few even went right over our heads! It was magical seeing these giants up close. They looked like alien spaceships moving through an cosmic ocean. I'll never forget that incredible night.Every day in Hawaii was packed with adrenaline and adventure. We seriously did something new and exciting from sun up to sun down. I got to experience so many things I'd only seen on TV or read about in books before. Snorkeling through coral reefs, hiking through valleys and rainforests, walking across a black sand beach formed by lava, and even visiting the memorial at Pearl Harbor were all amazing. The biggest lesson I learned is that there's so much more to see and do out there in this big, beautiful world of ours. It really opened my eyes. I used to think my regular life back home was the only way to live, but now I know there are all kinds ofadventures to be had. I can't wait until our next big trip! I'm going to start researching destinations and planning our activities as soon as we get home. Maybe somewhere with igloos or the Northern Lights next time? Or maybe we could go on an African safari? There's a whole world to explore out there, and I don't want to miss a thing!篇5An Unforgettable Journey to the HimalayasLast summer, my family and I went on the most epic adventure of our lives - a trekking expedition to the mighty Himalayas in Nepal! I had been bugging my parents for years to take me hiking in the mountains, but they were always worried it would be too dangerous or difficult for a kid like me. Finally, after I turned 13, they agreed to let me join them on a guided trek as long as I trained really hard beforehand. You bet I did!We signed up for a 10-day trek to Annapurna Base Camp, one of the most famous trekking routes in the Himalayan range. The plan was to fly into the city of Pokhara and then start hiking from a village called Nayapul. From there, it would take us a week of trekking uphill to reach Annapurna Base Camp at over 13,000 feet above sea level!I could hardly sleep the night before we left, I was so excited. When we landed in Kathmandu and I got my first glimpse of the snow-capped peaks looming in the distance, I thought my heart would burst with joy. This was really happening! The first couple days of trekking were challenging but manageable. We hiked for 5-6 hours each day, slowly gaining elevation through peaceful countryside villages and terraced fields. The mountain scenery got more and more dramatic with every step. Mighty glacier-capped peaks surrounded us, and powerful rivers raged far below the trails we trekked along.Around day 4, the trail started getting much steeper as we crossed through bamboo forests and entered the pure mountain territory. I was feeling the effects of the altitude with headaches and shortness of breath. But the incredible views made every hard-earned step worth it. We'd rest at tea houses each night, playing cards and snuggling under thick blankets as the temperatures plunged. Then, on the morning of day 7, we woke up before sunrise and set off on the final push to Annapurna Base Camp. It was brutally cold and difficult, struggling for air with eachlung-burning step uphill. But when I crested that final ridge and saw the soaring, majestic peaks of the Annapurna Massif laid outbefore me, gleaming in the morning light...I'll never forget that jawdropping moment as long as I live.We had made it! Trekkers whooped and cheered, laughter and tears of joy intermingling. The energy at Base Camp was electric and communal, with trekkers from all over the world celebrating together. That night we bedded down in tents, watching the sunset paint those massive icy peaks in hues of fiery orange and pink. All too soon, it was time to begin the long descent back down the mountain. While the downhill hiking wasn't as physically taxing, it came with its own challenges like sore knees and blisters. But I was too euphoric to mind much. I had pushed myself farther than I ever dreamed possible and been rewarded with one of the most breathtakingly beautiful natural wonders in the world. When we finally made it back to Kathmandu, I felt like a changed person - stronger, braver, and with a newfound sense of what I was capable of. That epic trek will be forever seared into my mind and heart. It gave me self-confidence, appreciation for nature's majesty, and a longing to seek out more adventures in the future. The Himalayas will forever be a magical, sacred place for me. I can't wait to go back someday.篇6An Unforgettable School TripWow, where do I even begin? The school trip to the Grand Canyon was honestly the most amazing experience of my entire life so far! I'm still having trouble wrapping my head around everything we saw and did. It was just so incredibly epic!I'd seen pictures of the Grand Canyon before, but let me tell you, they did not do it justice at all. When our bus first pulled up to the South Rim viewpoint and I stepped out, my jaw just dropped. The sheer size and scale of it was mind-blowing. I'd never seen anything so massive and majestic in person before. The layers of red and orange rock seemed to stretch on forever into the distance. Our science teacher Ms. Jenkins had talked all about how the canyon was formed by erosion over millions of years, but standing there on the rim, it was hard to really comprehend that timescale. Like, millions of years? That's so much time! Longer than human civilization has even existed. The Grand Canyon just put into perspective how ancient and amazing our planet really is.After soaking in the views for a while, it was time to gear up for the highlight of the trip - hiking into the canyon itself. We all got our hiking packs and plenty of water and snacks ready. The rangers gave us a safety briefing and some tips, like how to watch out for steep drop-offs and loose rocks. I was a little nervous at first, but also just crazy excited. The first part of the trail wasn't too intense, but it definitely started getting tougher as we descended deeper into the canyon. The switchbacks seemed never-ending at times. My legs were burning like crazy from all the steep steps! A few of my friends were complaining and wanting to turn back. But there was no way I was going to miss out on reaching the bottom after coming this far. Finally, after what felt like forever, we made it to the inner canyon floor. Oh my god, the feeling of accomplishment was just unreal. We had all hiked miles and miles into this geological wonder! The views from down there were just breathtaking in every direction you looked. The ridges and buttes seemed to glow in the bright Arizona sun.We stopped to refuel with snacks and water while Ms. Jenkins went over some of the geology and natural history of the area we were in. She pointed out some fossilized footprints andancient river rock formations. It was so cool to see actual evidence of how this landscape formed over eons. You could really grasp the concept of deep time in a whole new way. After our little science lesson, we had some free time to explore the inner canyon a bit more. A bunch of us decided to wade into the shallow waters of Bright Angel Creek. The water was icy cold from snowmelt higher up, but it felt awesome to cool off from the desert heat. We skipped rocks, splashed around, and just totally soaked in the magical surroundings.Too soon, it was time to start the long trek out of the canyon before it got too late in the day. As tough as the descent was, the climb back up was honestly brutal. My body was screaming at me and each step was sheer determination. A few times I wondered if I'd actually make it with my rubbery legs. But I kept chugging along, thinking of that panoramic viewpoint waiting at the top. When we finally spilled out onto the rim trail again, sweaty and completely drained, it was the biggest sense of achievement I'd ever felt. We had done it - we had hiked into the absolute depths of one of the most iconic landscapes on the planet! The views seemed even more jaw-dropping after the struggle of getting there. As tired as I was, I also felt strangely energized. Maybe it was the thin air or just being in the presence of such ancient, raw nature. But I had this profound appreciation for the world around me and a drive to go out and explore more of it. This trip awoke something inside me - a craving for adventure and discovering new places. On the bus ride back to the hotel, I could barely keep my eyes open after exerting every ounce of energy. My friends and I were all laughing, recounting the hilarious moments from the day and inside jokes that had formed. But we also kept going back to just how beautiful and powerful the Grand Canyon was. How lucky we were to have seen it up close like。

英语作文,去佛山西樵山旅游全文共3篇示例,供读者参考篇1A Memorable Trip to Xiqiao MountainAs the school year came to a close, my classmates and I were all buzzing with excitement about our upcoming summer vacation plans. Some were going on family trips abroad, while others looked forward to lazy days spent sleeping in and hanging out with friends. But for me, the highlight was along-awaited journey to explore Xiqiao Mountain, a renowned scenic area located in my hometown of Foshan.I had heard countless stories about the captivating beauty of Xiqiao Mountain from my parents and grandparents, who had visited the place during their youth. With its lush forests, ancient Buddhist temples, and winding hiking trails, it sounded like the perfect destination for an adventurous soul like myself. So, when my parents proposed a family trip there, I jumped at the opportunity.Early one morning, we set out on the hour-long drive from our city apartment to the mountains. As we approached ourdestination, the towering peaks came into view, their verdant slopes shrouded in a misty haze. A sense of anticipation bubbled within me, and I couldn't wait to immerse myself in the natural splendor that awaited. Our first stop was the Xiqiao Mountain National Forest Park, a vast expanse of pristine woodlands that seemed to stretch endlessly before us. We decided to tackle one of the longer hiking trails, winding our way through dense bamboo groves and across gurgling streams. The air was thick with the earthy scent of moss and decaying leaves, and the melodic chirping of birds provided a soothing soundtrack to our journey. As we climbed higher, the lush canopy above began to thin, revealing glimpses of the stunning vistas beyond. Suddenly, we emerged onto a rocky outcrop, and my breath caught in my throat. Laid out before us was a panoramic view of undulating peaks and valleys, their verdant slopes dappled with patches of sunlight filtering through the clouds. In the distance, I could make out the glittering waters of the West River snaking its way through the landscape. We spent the better part of the day exploring the park's various trails, pausing occasionally to rest and savor the tranquility of our surroundings. At one point, we stumbled upona hidden waterfall cascading over a series of moss-covered boulders. Without hesitation, I kicked off my shoes and waded into the cool, refreshing pool at its base, reveling in the sense of serenity that enveloped me.After our invigorating hike, we made our way to the Xiqiao Mountain Sculpture Park, an open-air museum showcasing an impressive collection of stone carvings and statues. As we strolled through the winding paths, we encounteredlarger-than-life depictions of ancient Buddhist deities, their weathered faces etched with intricate details that hinted at their rich histories. One sculpture that particularly caught my eye was a towering figure of Guanyin, the Bodhisattva of Compassion. Surrounded by intricately carved lotus petals and swirling clouds, her serene expression seemed to radiate a sense of peace and benevolence. I found myself drawn to her tranquil aura, taking a moment to sit cross-legged before her and simply breathe in the calming energy that permeated the air.Our final destination was the Xiqiao Mountain Scenery Area, where we explored the remnants of ancient temples and pavilions that dotted the landscape. One of the highlights was the Daxiong Palace, a magnificent temple complex that datesback over a thousand years. As we wandered through its intricate halls and courtyards, I couldn't help but feel a sense of reverence for the history and cultural significance that permeated every stone and archway.Towards the end of our visit, we ascended to the summit of Xiqiao Mountain, where a towering pagoda stood sentinel over the surrounding peaks. From this vantage point, we could see for miles in every direction, the vast expanse of rolling hills and valleys stretching out before us like a verdant tapestry. As the sun began to dip below the horizon, casting a warm, golden glow over the landscape, I found myself filled with a profound sense of gratitude. Not only had I experienced the breathtaking beauty of Xiqiao Mountain firsthand, but I had also gained a deeper appreciation for the rich cultural heritage and natural wonders that my hometown had to offer. On the drive back to the city, my mind kept wandering back to the sights and sounds of our adventure. The gentle rustling of leaves in the breeze, the gurgling of crystal-clear streams, and the serene expressions of the ancient Buddhist sculptures – each memory seemed to be etched into my consciousness, serving as a reminder of the profound connection I had forged with the natural world and my roots. As I reflected on the experience, I couldn't help but feel a sense of pride in having had the opportunity to explore such a remarkable place. Xiqiao Mountain had not only provided me with a thrilling adventure but had also instilled in me a deeper appreciation for the rich cultural tapestry and natural wonders that my hometown had to offer. It was a journey that had left an indelible mark on my soul, one that I knew I would cherish for years to come.篇2A Journey to Xiqiao Mountain: An Unforgettable AdventureAs the semester drew to a close, the prospect of awell-deserved break filled my mind with excitement. 汽车车膜英文词汇

汽车车膜英文词汇

汽车车膜英文词汇Vehicle window tint, also known as car window film or automotive window film, is a popular and practical solution for enhancing the appearance and functionality of a vehicle. This thin, transparent or tinted material is applied to the interior side of a vehicle's windows, providing a range of benefits that have made it a widely adopted accessory in the automotive industry. One of the primary functions of vehicle window tint is to block harmful ultraviolet (UV) rays from entering the vehicle. UV radiation can have detrimental effects on both the interior of the car and the occupants. The tint film acts as a barrier, filtering out a significant portion of these damaging rays, which can fade and damage the upholstery, dashboard, and other interior components over time. This helps to preserve the vehicle's appearance and protect the occupants from the potentially harmful effects of prolonged UV exposure. In addition to UV protection, vehicle window tint also plays a crucial role in reducing glare and improving visual comfort for the driver and passengers. The tint film can help to minimize the intensity of sunlight entering the vehicle, reducing eye strain and improvingvisibility, particularly during bright and sunny conditions. This enhanced visual clarity can contribute to safer driving, as it helps to reduce the risk of accidents caused by excessive glare.Another key benefit of vehicle window tint is its ability to enhance privacy and security. The tinted film can make it more difficult for outsiders to see into the vehicle, providing a degree of privacy and deterring potential break-ins or vandalism. This is especially important for individuals who frequently transport valuable items or sensitive information in their vehicles.Furthermore, vehicle window tint can contribute to improved fuel efficiency and temperature regulation within the car. By blocking a portion of the sun's heat, the tint film can help to reduce the workload on the vehicle's air conditioning system, leading to lower energy consumption and potentially longer battery life in the case of electric or hybrid vehicles. This, in turn, can result in cost savings for the vehicle owner over time.In terms of aesthetics, vehicle window tint can significantly enhance the overall appearance of a car. The range of tint shades and levels of opacity available allows drivers to customize the look of their vehicle, from subtle and discreet to bold and distinctive. This can be particularly appealing for those who value the visual appeal of their car and want to create a unique and personalized look. The application of vehicle window tint is a relatively straightforward process that can be carried out by professional installers. These experts have the necessary tools, expertise, and experience to ensure the tint film is applied correctly, without bubbles, wrinkles, or other imperfections. They can also advise on the appropriate tint level based on local regulations and the specific needs and preferences of the vehicle owner. It is important to note that the legality and regulations surrounding vehicle window tint can vary depending on the jurisdiction. In many regions, there are specific guidelines and restrictions regarding the allowable level of tint, the placement of the tint on the windows, and the visible light transmission (VLT) percentage. It is crucial for vehicle owners to research and comply with the local laws and regulations to avoid potential fines or other legal consequences. In conclusion, vehicle window tint is a versatile and practical solution that offers a range of benefits for car owners. From UV protection and glare reduction to enhanced privacy and improved fuel efficiency, the application of window tint can significantly enhance the overall driving experience and the appearance of a vehicle. As with any automotive modification, it is essential to consider the legal and regulatory aspects before making a decision, but the potentialadvantages of vehicle window tint make it a popular and valuable addition for many car enthusiasts and owners.。

我想加入画画俱乐部英语作文简单初一

我想加入画画俱乐部英语作文简单初一

我想加入画画俱乐部英语作文简单初一I Want to Join the Painting ClubHi, my name is Michael and I'm in 7th grade. I really want to join the school painting club this year! Let me tell you why.Ever since I was a little kid, I've loved drawing and painting. Some of my earliest memories are sitting at the kitchen table with my mom's old box of crayons and a coloring book, scribbling away for hours. I remember how proud I felt when I carefully colored inside the lines to make a picture look just right. As I got older, my interest in art just grew stronger. For my 6th birthday, my parents got me a big set of colored pencils and a sketchpad. I spent so much time practicing drawing animals, cartoon characters, landscapes, you name it. Whenever we went on family vacations, I always packed art supplies to do sketches of the places we visited. In 3rd grade, I had an amazing art teacher named Mrs. Patterson. She taught us all about different painting techniques like watercolors, acrylics, and even finger painting. We learned about famous artists throughout history and the stories behind their most iconic works. I was completely mesmerized. For thefirst time, I realized art was so much more than just a fun hobby - it was a way to express thoughts, feelings, and creativity.Mrs. Patterson always encouraged me and complimented my natural talent. Under her guidance that year, I created some of my best paintings yet. There was a sunset landscape with warm colors blended into the sky. A still life of a bowl of fruit that actually looked 3D. And my personal favorite, an abstract painting with bold brushstrokes and bright colors that just seemed to pop off the canvas. When the school year ended, Mrs. Patterson told my parents I had a very special gift for art. She said with practice and dedication, I could take my skills to an even higher level. Those words stuck with me and made me want to take every art class I could. In 4th and 5th grade art, I experimented with new media like charcoal, pastels, and even sculpting with clay. I loved the versatility of being able to work in different styles with different materials. My parents framed several of my best pieces to hang up around the house. Whenever I looked at them, I felt such a sense of pride and accomplishment.Last year in 6th grade, I didn't have a dedicated art class. It was so disappointing because art has become one of my biggestpassions. Sure, we did some basic crafts and drawings in other classes. But it just wasn't the same as being able to spend concentrated time painting, shading, and perfecting techniques.I've been counting down the days until I start 7th grade and can join the painting club. From what I've heard from older students, the club is amazing. They have unlimited access to every type of paint, brush, and canvas you can imagine. You're free to work on independent projects and explore your own style and subject matter. But you also get guidance and feedback from teachers along the way.The painting club also goes on cool field trips like visiting art museums, outdoor painting excursions, and even meetings with local professional artists. To top it off, they host an annual art show at the end of the year to display and celebrate everyone's work. I can only dream of having one of my paintings hang in a real exhibition!I've been practicing my skills all summer, working on my craft in preparation. I bought some new canvases and have several pieces I'm really proud of that I'd love to develop further. One is an abstract piece with geometric shapes and lines that overlap in this hypnotic pattern. Another is a painting of thewoods near my house, with sunlight filtering through the trees in these gorgeous warm streams.More than anything, I'm excited by the idea of being around other students who share my passion for art. Don't get me wrong, I have great friends and we have a lot of fun together. But none of them are really into painting and drawing like I am. They just don't understand how therapeutic and rewarding the creative process can be. How getting lost in mixing colors, mastering techniques, and turning a blank canvas into a vibrant masterpiece makes me feel so alive. In the painting club, I'll finally have a community of people who truly get it. We'll be able to bond over our shared loved of art, learn from each other, and motivate one another to keep working hard. I can't wait to get feedback and constructive criticism to take my skills up a notch. With more practice and mentoring, who knows how good I could become? My ultimate dream is to study art in college and eventually become a professional artist or art teacher one day. I know it's a tough career path and there will be a lot of competition. But I'm willing to put in the blood, sweat, and tears to make it happen. Being part of the painting club will help me build my portfolio, connections, and experiencing being part of the art world.I have so many ideas for pieces I want to create this year. Detailed portraits and human subjects, which I've struggled with capturing realistic proportions and expressions. Avant garde, edgy art that pushes boundaries and makes a statement. Experimenting with multimedia by combining painting with other elements like wood, textiles, or even digital art.More than anything though, I want to use art as an outlet for processing thoughts, emotions, and the human experience.

A limitation of standard Bloom filters is that one cannot remove existing items without rebuilding the entire filter.论⽂中也提到了布⾕鸟过滤器4⼤优点:It supports adding and removing items dynamically; It provides higher lookup performance than traditional Bloom filters, even when close to full (e.g., 95% space utilized); It is easier to implement than alternatives such as the quotient filter; andIt uses less space than Bloom filters in many practical applications, if the target false positive rate is less than 3%.

Transparent Filtering of Streams in GLADELaurent Pautet Computer Science DepartmentENST Paris75634 Paris cedex 13, France pautet@inf.enst.frThomas Wolf Software Engineering Laboratory Swiss Federal Institute of Technology CH–1015 Lausanne, Switzerlandwolf@di.epfl.chAbstractIn the context of G LADE, the implementation of Annex E of the Ada Reference Manual for the GNAT compiler, a transparent extension of the PCS for performing arbitrary data transforma-tions on the marshaled arguments of remote calls is presented. The concepts underlying the implementation and its implications on the configuration language are shown. A small example elucidates the chosen approach and illustrates at the same time the use of remote accesses to class–wide types for implementing distributed objects in Ada 95.Keywords:Ada 95, Compression, Cryptography, Distributed Objects, Distributed Systems, Security1IntroductionAda 95 integrates a model for building distributed applications within the language itself (Annex E of the Ada Reference Manual [8]). Distribution introduces a whole new set of problems in appli-cations, e.g., having to pass data across a network may raise per-formance or security issues. In this paper, we present a solution to these problems allowing arbitrary data transformations, such as compression or encryption, to be applied transparently to data sent over the network.Section 2 of this paper briefly recalls the basic principles of dis-tribution in Ada 95, before we give an overview of G LADE, the implementation of Annex E for the GNAT [7] compiler, in section 3. In section 4, we describe our filtering addition to G LADE, a transparent solution for applying arbitrary data transformations to RPC parameters. Section 5 describes how to configure filtering. The example in section 6 illustrates these concepts and also shows nicely how to use class–wide programming to implement distrib-uted objects in Ada 95. Section 7 finally concludes the paper and points out some future directions of work.2Distributed Systems in Ada 95In the model described by the language standard, a distributed Ada program is viewed as a composition of so–called partitions (virtual nodes), which communicate primarily through remote procedure calls (RPC, [2]). Each partition is a collection of Ada library units, some of which are marked by means of categorization pragmas as the interface of the partition towards other partitions. Such inter-face packages may contain remotely callable subprograms (marked by pragma Remote_Call_Interface, called RCI for short) as well as types used for their arguments (pragmas Remote_Types (RT) and Pure). A fourth pragma Shared_Passive is intended for modeling memory that is shared between partitions, either physically or through a distributed shared memory implementation. RT and RCI packages may con-tain in their visible parts access to subprogram types as well as access types to class–wide limited private types. These implicitly become remote access types, allowing dynamically bound remote calls as well as remote dispatching on the primitive operations of tagged types. In order to send the parameters of a remote call across a net-work, they must be flattened into a simple stream of bytes. On the receiving partition, they then have to be reconstructed from this linearized representation again. This process is called marshaling and unmarshaling and is done transparently to the application by code inserted automatically by the compiler on both the sender and receiver partition for each remotely callable subprogram. These stubs use the language–defined attributes’Write and’Read, which append/retrieve data items to/from a Stream, to do the mar-shaling and unmarshaling. They then use the standardized inter-face (System.RPC) of the Partition Communication Subsystem (PCS) that is part of the Ada runtime support to actually do the remote call, i.e., to transport the data across the network to the des-tination partition (and back, if the remote call is not asynchro-nous). This flow of control is summarized in fig. 1:The stubs for remotely callable procedures take care of argu-ment marshaling and unmarshaling. The PCS is responsible for sending the request to the correct partition, to call the right subpro-gram on the receiver, and to correctly return results.3G LADEThe basic idea of the Distributed Systems Annex is to allow a user to develop his application the same way whether this application will be executed as several programs communicating on a distrib-uted system or as a single program on a non–distributed system. The annex has been designed to minimize the changes to the source code of an ordinary centralized program when it is con-verted to a distributed program.3.1DevelopmentThe first step in the development of a distributed application is to create a non–distributed version of it. Of course, the design of this application should already take into account that some units ulti-mately will be accessed remotely. The application should be struc-tured in a modular way such that it can be distributed at all—a monolithic program is not well suited for distribution. Also, the categorization pragmas (see section 2 above) should already be put in the appropriate library level compilation units. The units that require categorization are typically those that will be called remotely, or those providing types used in remote calls. With these pragmas, the compiler can verify the constraints that apply for remote calls and their parameters even in this centralized prototype of the final distributed application.Using a centralized prototype has the advantage that most of the testing and debugging can be done with any off–the–shelf software development environment; specialized tools like debuggers for dis-tributed applications are not needed. Of course, no calls will truly be remote calls yet. Before really distributing the application, one might even introduce remote calls by way of pragma All_Calls_Remote, which makes invocations of remotely call-able subprograms go through the PCS even if the called subpro-gram resides on the same partition.3.2Partitioning and ConfigurationFinally, the centralized application is partitioned and configured into a truly distributed application, i.e., into multiple partitions working cooperatively as part of a single Ada program. The pro-cess of mapping the partitions of a program to the physical nodes in a distributed system is called configuring the partitions of the program. The Distributed Systems Annex does not describe how a distributed application should be configured. It is up to the user to define the partitions in his program and on which machines they should be executed.G LADE (Gnat Library for Ada Distributed Execution) is an implementation of the Distributed System Annex for the GNAT compiler. It is composed of two main parts:•G ARLIC [4] is an implementation of the PCS, providing the run-time support for executing a distributed Ada 95 applica-tion, and•G NATDIST [3] is a configuration tool allowing users, by means of a configuration language, to partition their pro-grams and to specify the physical nodes (machines) where the individual partitions are to be executed.G NATDIST reads a configuration file and builds several executables, one for each partition. It generates the caller and receiver stubs when an Ada unit has been categorized as a remote call interface, and it adds some code to launch the different partitions, to invoke the communication layer of G LADE, called G ARLIC, and to map Ada units or Ada unit stubs on each partition. All these opera-tions—except writing the configuration file, of course—are trans-parent to the user. The configuration language is designed to be simple and conve-nient to use. Its syntax is in some respects similar to the Ada syn-tax in order to ease the task of an Ada programmer: the keywords are mostly the same as in Ada, though they are sometimes used ina slightly different context.3.3Client/Server Applications using the Distributed SystemsAnnexThe “single distributed application” model of the Ada 95 language standard [8, E(1)] is not well suited to the development of cli-ent/server applications, which have a different structure: they usu-ally comprise two programs (client and server), and cannot be defined easily as a partitioning of a single program. The language standard gives an implementation enough leeway to accommodate other models of distributed applications. [8,10.2(7)] for instance gives the permission to define several main procedures, one per partition, which departs from the basic model of a single distributed application. The Distributed Systems Annex relaxes some other aspects of the single application model.Note that if we reconsider the development process of a distrib-uted application, it is clear that the initial, centralized application must be structured accordingly if these steps are to be used for cli-ent/server applications. E.g., as a centralized application comprises one partition only, it can have only one main procedure, and the developer has to mimic other main procedures by executing them in separate tasks. Usually, the overhead of having to do this still pays off because the centralized prototype of the final distributed client/server application can be developed using the usual software engineering environment. If the distributed application were devel-oped directly, without creating a centralized version first and using tasking to “simulate” the later distribution, special–purpose dis-tributed development tools would have to be used (e.g. for debug-ging the distributed application).G LADE has been designed to allow such development. Some features of its configuration language are specially dedicated to it. We will discuss configuration in detail in section 5.4FilteringWe definefiltering as the transformation of data sent over a net-work to accommodate (non–functional) requirements such as per-formance or security issues introduced by distribution. As has been pointed out in [5], the mechanisms defined in the Ada language allow several levels of data filtering for parameters of remote calls. Besides ad–hoc filtering of the parameters on the application level with its obvious disadvantages there are two other possibilities:•The application may redefine the’Write and’Read attributes of a type to do the filtering based on the type of each parameter. This allows tailoring the use of filtering to the application’s needs, but may not be appropriate for all kinds of data transformations, e.g., compression would be done more efficiently on all parameters together after they have been marshaled.•Filtering can be applied within the PCS after marshaling and before unmarshaling. This has several advantages; in partic-ular, filtering becomes completely transparent to the user program: the filtering properties must be defined only when the application is configured. On the downside, all data sent between any two partitions will be filtered.Which method is appropriate in a particular context depends on the application’s semantics and requirements. The first method must be implemented necessarily in the application itself since only it can know how certain types should be marshaled, if a behavior other than the default one is desired. Our filtering extension of G LADE provides ample support for the latter, transparent method. It consists of two parts: an addition to G ARLIC providing the hooks allowing adding arbitrary filters, and some changes in the configuration language of G NATDIST to specify filtering properties. Filtering is specified for channels, which are logical connection between two partitions.4.1ImplementationG ARLIC itself is structured as a subsystem implementing the inter-face specified by System.RPC in the language standard, providing synchronous and asynchronous remote calls. The actual network protocols to be used are decoupled from this higher–level function-ality: different protocols may be used, and new ones may be added without recompiling G ARLIC. This extensibility is obtained through the use of object–oriented techniques.Just as G ARLIC is extensible on the protocol level, so is the fil-tering extension on the filter level. Filters are completely decou-pled from the communication protocols used: the two are unrelated in all ways and can be thought of as two different dimensions of message processing. Filtering is transparent to the application, and nearly transparent to G ARLIC itself:System.Garlic.Filters offers two very simple subroutines for G ARLIC to call just before it passes the message on to a protocol package upon sending, and just after having received an as yet uninterpreted message from a protocol, respectively. The communication protocols, the RPC stubs, the application: all have no knowledge of filtering.Object–oriented programming techniques are used to allow plug’n’play extensibility in the filter dimension. The module struc-ture (shown in fig. 2) is simple: there is one package for filter man-agement in G ARLIC,System.Garlic.Filters. The interface of package System.Garlic.Filters towards the rest of G ARLIC is very simple; there are only two routines for filtering streams: package System.Garlic.Filters isfunction Filter_Outgoing(To:in System.RPC.Partition_ID;Params:in Ada.Streams.Stream_Element_Array)return Ada.Streams.Stream_Element_Array;function Filter_Incoming(From: in System.RPC.Partition_ID;Params: in Ada.Streams.Stream_Element_Array)return Ada.Streams.Stream_Element_Array;private...end System.Garlic.Filters;(G ARLIC uses Ada.Streams.Stream_Element_Array as the internal representation of marshaled arguments. The interface as shown is slightly simplified, in reality, there is a third parameter to be able to distinguish messages corresponding to remote calls from G ARLIC’s internal housekeeping messages, which have to be han-dled differently in some cases.)The above subprograms are called by G ARLIC just before send-ing a message and just after having received a message. As can be seen from this interface, the filter to use for a particular message depends upon the partition the message shall go to or arrived from. This uniquely identifies the channel from the point of view of a partition. Package System.Garlic.Filters maintains this relation between channels and filters.Individual filters are implemented in child packages of this package as objects of types derived from a root filter type, a tagged type declared in System.Garlic.Filters. At elaboration time, each filter registers itself with the top package, so that the latter can invoke the filters through dispatching calls on the registered object reference. This root filter type constitutes the interface towards the actual filters; it is declared in the private part of the filter manager’s specification:package System.Garlic.Filters is...privatetype Filter_Type isabstract tagged limited null record;type Filter_Access isaccess all Filter_Type’Class;type Filter_Params_Type isabstract tagged null record;type Filter_Params_Access isaccess all Filter_Params’Class;function Filter_Outgoing(Filter :in Filter_Type;Params :in Filter_Params_Access;Stream :in Ada.Streams.Stream_Element_Array)return Ada.Streams.Stream_Element_Array is abstract;function Filter_Incoming(Filter :in Filter_Type;Params :in Filter_Params_Access;Stream :in Ada.Streams.Stream_Element_Array)return Ada.Streams.Stream_Element_Array is abstract;-- Filter_Outgoing filters the Stream before it is sent, and-- Filter_Incoming performs the inverse filtering on a Stream --that has been received.procedure Generate_Params(Filter :in Filter_Type;Public_Params :out Filter_Params_Access;Private_Params :out Filter_Params_Access;Needs_Exchange :out Boolean)is abstract;--This procedure must generate new filter parameters. It may always --deliver the same parameters (hard–coded constant) or generate --new ones each time it is called.--If the algorithm is symmetric, its parameters are returned in -- Public_Params,Private_Params is null, and the last argu---ment Needs_Exchange is True.function Name(Filter : Filter_Type)return String is abstract;--Has to return the filter package's name (e.g. “LZH”).procedure Register (Filter :in Filter_Access);--Called in the elaboration of a filter, so this package knows which --filters are available.end System.Garlic.Filters;Fig. 2Module StructureEach filter may have parameters associated with a channel; such parameters may be frequency tables for compression algorithms, or encryption keys (both public and secret key encryption is possi-ble), or whatever is appropriate for the filtering algorithm. Upon the first communication on a channel, the filter manager calls Generate_Params for the filter to use on this channel. The parameters returned will then be used for all communication on this channel. If necessary, the filter manager will also perform a key exchange (see subsection 4.3 below).Once the filter parameters are known and have been exchanged between the two partitions, the filter manager invokes the primitive operations Filter_Incoming or Filter_Outgoing of the appropriate filter through a dispatching call and then returns the result to G ARLIC.4.2Adding a new FilterIt is easy to add new filters to an existing system due to the strict decoupling of filter management and the filtering algorithms them-selves. Child packages implementing filters must simply register their filter objects with G ARLIC’s filter manager at elaboration. Using a new filter is equally simple: if the configuration language specifies a filter for a certain channel, it suffices to link the appro-priate filter child package to the partitions’ executables—the appli-cation does not have to be recompiled.A sample filter implementation is shown below:package System.Garlic.Filters.Example isprivatetype My_Filter_Type is new Filter_Typewith record ...end record;type My_Parameter_Type is new Filter_Params_Type with record--Whatever is needed (keys, tables, etc.)end record;--Primitive operations as given by System.Garlic.Filters. end System.Garlic.Filters.Example;The new filter must be implemented as a derivation of the root fil-ter type System.Garlic.Filters.Filter_Type. As each fil-ter also needs its own filter parameters, an additional derived type for those is needed, too. The implementation must then implement the abstract primitive operations of the root filter type and finally register itself with the filter manager as shown below:package body System.Garlic.Filters.Example is Example_Dummy :aliased My_Filter_Type;--This object will be registered with the filter manager at elaboration.--Primitive operations as given in System.Garlic.Filters:function Name(Filter :in My_Filter_Type)return String isbeginreturn “EXAMPLE”;end Name;--Other prim. operations:Filter_Incoming,Filter_Outgoing, --and Generate_Params.beginRegister (Example_Dummy’Access);end System.Garlic.Filters.Example;Which filter to use on a particular channel is defined during config-uration (see also section 5). To pass configuration information from the (off–line) configuration phase to the running application, G LADE uses a mechanism based on the generation of a configura-tion package System.Garlic.Elaboration. The configuration tool G NATDIST generates a different body for this package for each partition, containing configuration information, e.g. filtering infor-mation1. During configuration, filters are identified using names (strings). At run–time, the filter manager has to map these names to filter types, which is done through the primitive operation Name.4.3Key ExchangeIf filtering is used for transparently encrypting the messages during a remote procedure call and a secret key algorithm is used, this key first has to be made known to the receiver partition of the message. This mechanism is encapsulated within the filter manager (pack-age System.Garlic.Filters), since it is the same for all fil-ters.For the key exchange to work, we require that there be one pub-lic key algorithm in the configuration. This algorithm is designated in the configuration as the “registration filter”, which will be used to safely send secret keys across the network. The public key of a partition in the distributed application for this algorithm must be known to all other partitions that want to communicate with it. This is assured dynamically, as depicted in figure 3.In this figure, partition A is about to make its first remote call to partition B. Before it can do so, it first asks the target partition for its public key for the registration filter (PK B). Once it has received that, partition A uses it to encrypt the secret key K Secret for the algorithm to be used for subsequent communication between these two partitions and sends that encrypted key to B. Only B is able to decrypt this message and to recover the session key K Secret. The algorithm to use this key with is known to both partitions a priori as part of the configuration information. Once the session key has been exchanged in this manner, remote calls between these two partitions using secret key encryption are possible. (Note that this method is different from our original key exchange as described in [5]: the lead partition no longer acts as a global repository for reg-istration keys.)The use of this feature of course is not limited to encryption algorithms, one might also use the default null filter, which does nothing, as the registration filter and use the key exchange facility to share some arbitrary filtering parameters (e.g. compression lev-els) that must be known to both partitions. A filter indicates that a 1.The filter packages cannot be private child packages because they arewith ed by the configuration package System.Garlic.Elaboration so they will be linked to the application.parameter exchange is needed by returning True for the Needs_Exchange parameter of its primitive operation Generate_Params.The current implementation of filtering lets each partition gen-erate its own keys for the registration filter. Other approaches are also feasible, e.g., one partition in the application could be used as an application–wide trusted key server.5ConfigurationConfiguring a distributed application is done with a configuration file in G LADE. In this section, we present the essentials of the con-figuration language, with an emphasis on its support for filtering and for client/server applications. For a detailed description of other aspects of configuration in G LADE, the reader is referred to[3].5.1OverviewThe distribution of an Ada program is described by a single config-uration unit. This configuration unit has a specification part and an optional body part.Configuration_Unit ::=configuration Identifier isDeclarative_Part[beginSequence_Of_Statements]end Identifier; The configuration language provides two predefined types Parti-tion and Channel, which describe the objects a configuration operates upon. A channel is a communication link between two partitions. In the declarative part of a configuration unit, the user declares all the partitions as well as the channels between them, and defines which Ada units are to be assigned to which partition.G NATDIST checks the consistency of the configuration, e.g., it makes sure that no RCI unit is assigned to multiple partitions, and it also checks that the identifiers given in the definition of a parti-tion really correspond to existing Ada units. The user can also declare a list of channels, each consisting of a pair of identifiers of previously declared partitions.Declarative_Part ::= {Declarative_Item}Declarative_Item ::=Partition_Declaration|Channel_Declaration|Representation_ClausePartition_Declaration ::=Defining_Identifier_List:Partition[:= Enumeration_Of_Identifiers];Channel_Declaration ::=Defining_Identifier_List:Channel[:= (Defining_Identifier, Defining_Identifier)]; Enumeration_Of_Identifiers ::=([Defining_Identifier {, Defining_Identifier}]) Defining_Identifier_List ::=Defining_Identifier {, Defining_Identifier}This syntax specifies a partition as an arbitrarily long list of Ada units and a channel a pair of partitions. The user can declare a list of partitions initialized with a list of Ada units. Once declared (and possibly initialized), each partition can be extended individually with additional Ada units in the statement part of the configuration unit. The configuration language provides a way to declare the main procedure of the non–distributed application:procedure Main_Unit_Name is in Partition; Representation clauses are widely used in the configuration lan-guage of G LADE to change the default behavior. For instance, parti-tions can be mapped onto physical nodes, and G NATDIST’s default behavior is to ask interactively (when the distributed application is run) for the physical node a certain partition should be run on. This behavior can be modified via an attribute clause for the attribute ’Host giving the machine a partition should be executed on. This attribute can be applied either to the type Partition (i.e., to all partitions), or to specific individual partitions.5.2Filter ConfigurationThe configuration language also allows developers to modify the behavior of a channel via representation clauses, e.g., the’Fil-ter attribute of a channel can be set to a given filter. (The default behavior is not to filter at all.) In this way, the user can modify the behavior of a given channel, or of any channel when the attribute is applied to the predefined type Channel.Representation_Clause ::=for Identifier'Host use String_Literal;|for Identifier'Host use Subprogram;|for Identifier'Filter use String_Literal;|for Partition'Host use String_Literal;|for Partition'Host use Subprogram;|f or Partition’Filter use String_Literal;|for Channel'Filter use String_Literal;A partition host can be determined statically by giving a string lit-eral. But it can also be determined at run-time. Therefore, an attribute clause for attribute’Host can be the result of a subpro-gram call. As filtering code has to be present for the linker, the attribute clause for attribute’Filter cannot be the result of a sub-program call.It is not necessary to declare all possible channels between par-titions. The default filter, which does nothing, is used on any chan-nel that has not been declared or whose’Filter attribute has not been set.A configuration unit might look like the following example (we have commented only the new features; for more information on the configuration language, see [3]):configuration Example isPartition_1 : Partition;procedure Main is in Partition_1;Partition_2, Partition_3 : Partition:= (Normal);function Choose_Best_Node (P : String)return String;pragma Import(Shell, Choose_Best_Node, “./best”);for Partition’Host use Choose_Best_Node;--Use function “Choose_Best_Node” to determine on which--machine a certain partition should be executed. Here, this--function is supposed to be a shell script “./best”.Partition_4 : Partition := (RCI_B5);Channel_1_2 : Channel:= (Partition_1, Partition_2);-- A logical link between two partitions. The link is--symmetric.for Channel_1_2’Filter use “zip”;--This representation clause defines the behavior of the--channel. All data exchanged through it will be compressed--using the filter “zip”.Channel_1_3 : Channel;--The full specification of this channel will occur later in the--configuration body.for Channel’Filter use “pgp”;--This representation clause affects all declared channels--unless overridden by channel–specific clauses (as--above for Channel_1_2).beginPartition_2 := (RCI_B2, RCI_B4);Partition_3 := (RCI_B3);Channel_1_3 := (Partition_1, Partition_3);end Example; The above configuration unit results in the distributed application shown in fig 4:The channels depicted by the hollow arrows () have not been declared in the configuration unit and thus will use the default filter, which does not modify data in any way, if data is sent on them. This default behavior can also be changed by setting the Filter attribute for type Partition:for Partition’Filter use “xor”;will use the filter “xor” as the default filter. In this way, the user has complete control of the ways streams are exchanged on communi-cation channels.Note that Partition'Filter forces all communication channels to use a given filter even if these communication channels have not been declared in the configuration unit, whereas Chan-nel'Filter forces all declared communication channels to use a given filter. In the example, the filter for the declared Channel_1_3 between Partition_1 and Partition_3 is determined by the Channel'Filter attribute. It is overridden for the other declared channel by a channel-specific attribute. These attributes form a hierarchy: The default filter for all chan-nels (Partition'Filter) can be overridden with a filter for all declared channels (Channel'Filter), which again can be over-ridden by a channel–specific filter.Several filters are already available in G LADE. The “zip” filter allows data compression on the fly. This could be useful when net-work performance is an issue. Encryption filters are also available for secure applications. In the next section, we present a banking example where confidentiality is required.5.3Support for Client/Server Applications in G LADEG LADE offers several features intended to facilitate the develop-ment of client/server applications with the Distributed Systems Annex, making use of the standard's provisions for other models than the “single application” one.5.3.1Partition Main SubprogramAs described in section 3, when the user configures its centralized application into a distributed application, several partitions (i.e. programs) are built. Each partition may have its own main subpro-gram [8, 10.2(7)] and the main subprogram of the initial applica-tion is mapped onto only one of them (the lead partition). In G LADE, the main procedure of a particular partition can be set using the partition attribute’Main:Client : Partition;procedure Another_Main;for Client'Main use Another_Main;5.3.2Partition Launching ProcedureA centralized application is started with one single program invo-cation. In a distributed application, each partition must be started to execute the distributed program. To maintain the distribution transparency,G LADE build a single program to allow the user to execute the distributed application with a single command invoca-tion, too. This single program is the lead partition; it launches the remaining partitions on their associated physical nodes. This behavior is not reasonable in a client/server context as any number of clients can be running at the same time on any physical nodes. To change this default behavior,G LADE provides the pragma Starter which can force the generation of a specific launching procedure. To build a client/server application, no starter should be provided:pragma Starter (None);5.3.3Program TerminationA centralized application terminates when all its tasks can termi-nate.G LADE supports the “single distributed application” para-digm by providing a distributed termination detection which allows a partition to terminate only when all the tasks of all parti-tions in the distributed application can terminate. Unfortunately, this behavior is not sensible in a client/server application. A client partition may want to terminate once its own tasks can terminate, irrespective of the state of tasks in the server partition, and the server partitions should never terminate.G LADE supports this case through the attribute’Termination, which can be used to chose a particular termination algorithm:Client : Partition;for Client'Termination use Local_Termination;Server : Partition;for Server'Termination use Global_Termination;6An Example: A Secure Client/Server ApplicationIn this section, we present a small and simple banking application demonstrating two things: first, we show how easy filtering is to use, and second, we demonstrate how to program client/server applications in Ada 95.In this banking example, a client can perform several basic requests on his bank account. This interface allows to check bal-ance, deposit money and withdraw cash. As these requests can be performed remotely, the Server package is categorized as a Remote_Call_Interface (RCI package).Fig. 4The resulting distributed application。
