专四2023年作文真题及范文(通用5篇)
专四2023年作文真题及范文(通用5篇)For those who first live in a big city, they are confronted with multiple unexpected challenges, which, to some extent, may make or break them. So it is essential to be aware of the challenges. There are two major challenges for them. For one thing, the fast pace of social and professional life would be a hard bone to chew. It would become a struggle and terrible experience, if they cannot get used to the pace of life and work in big cities. For another, how to build a social network in big cities would be also a difficulty for those who want to start a new life in big cities. Without a social network, they would not have the sense of belonging. All in all, from what has been discussed above, the two major challenges are common for people struggling in big cities. The awareness of the potential problems and proper adjustment is necessary for all people going to big cities.Punctuality Is an Important VirtueTo be or not to be punctual is a habit. We often fail to appreciate the influence of habits in our life. The habitual practice of being late is often due to a lack of concern of being on time. In my opinion, being punctual is an important virtue for all of us.Punctuality is essential for people from all walks of life. For students,it is a great you are punctual, you leave a good impression on the teachers and classmates who may offer tremendous help in teamwork. In hospitals, punctuality can make all the difference between life and death. On the contrary, an unpunctual person generally causes inconvenience to person who is always late shows selfishness and thoughtlessness, and he is not a person that most people want for a friend. Furthermore, just as Thomas C. Haliburton said, ^v^Punctuality is the soul of business.^v^ Lateness is a sign of poor time management skills. When you are late for appointments, meetings or work, you show a lack of respect for other people's time as well as your own. If you want to be a successful businessman, being punctual is particularly important. Failing to arrive on time causes much inconvenience to the business and also to the rest of the staff. The failure to keep up an engagement punctually may mean a setback for the business. To sum ups, punctuality being so important in life, it is necessary for everybody to cultivate this habit froth the very beginning.(252 words)专四2023年作文真题及范文第5篇With globalization and industrialization increasing in recently years, more and more farmland and forests are being destroyed in the name of modernization. As a result, a couple of wild animals were killed or driven out of their original habitat. Tribal people who are in a peaceful life gradually lose their own lands. Survival’s Director Stephen Cory putforward his point of view about what conservationist should do. I agree with him.First, tribal people’s rights have to be acknowledged and respected. The conservationists must make it clear that they come to protect the environment rather than destroy it. They are supposed to respect tribal people, including their original habitat, culture and their lifestyles. As a matter of fact, they are not leaders but conservationists.Second, conservationists have to be treated as the best exports at defending their own people is an important part of the nature, and they know a lot about nature. Conservationists must realize it is they who are junior partners. To sum up,only in this way can the situation of conservationists be improved.Should College Students Hire Cleaners? It was recently reported that a few college students hired a help to do some cleaning in their dorm. These students attribute this behavior to their limited spare time. They claim that it can help them to save time and pay more attention to their studies. As far as I am concerned, such a chain of reasoning is seriously flawed, and they are just making an excuse for their laziness. College students should not hire a help for their dormitory cleaning. To begin with, it is not necessary for college students to hire acleaner. As boarding-school students living in tiny dorms, we don’t have much cleaning to do at all. What we need to do every day is just washing or some basic cleaning, which we learned to do in childhood. Undoubtedly we can manage them ourselves. In addition, cleaning up a dorm won’t take much time. Conversely, it may help us to divert our attention away from studies and reduce our pressure. As a result, we don’t need to hire a cleaner to keep our dorms clean.A more important reason why university students should not hire a cleaner is that university education involves both knowledge learning and character building. In the university we should try our best to be more independent and self-reliant. Otherwise, we cannot shoulder greater responsibility when we step into the society. If now we still rely on cleaners for dorm sanitation, how can we earn our own living in the future? Consequently, the most basic thing we should do now is to take care of ourselves and prepare for our future, instead of evading responsibility by hiring a help.In summary, college students should learn to stand on their own feet. Hiring a cleaner is definitely not a wise choice.。

为了实现这个梦想,我现在每天都会认真画画。

大学英语四级考试写作训练题篇1There is an undeniable fact that the number of animals is declining faster than ever before. According to a recent survey made by some experts, about 37 species disappear from our earth every year. It is obvious that the problem has become a serious one worth our concern。
When we explore this problem, some underlying factors emerge. In the very first place, human beings have played a big part. With the fast development of human society, the environment is much destroyed, and animals lose their home. Accordi ngly, some species become extinct. What’s more, people hunt animals for food and skin. A good case in point is that the Japanese have killed a lot of whales because they like to eat the meat. In addition, human beings are largely responsible for the pollution of natural environment, and poison animals in many ways。

You should write at least 150 words and base your composition on the outline given in Chinese below:1. 阅读在英语学习中的作用2. 如何利用阅读提高英语水平3. 你的看法Sample Answers:Part I:The Differences between Studying English in China and Studying English in an English-Speaking CountryStudying English in China and studying English in an English-speaking country are two completely different experiences. In China, the focus of English education tends to be on grammar rules, vocabulary memorization, and test preparation. Students spend a lot of time learning the language in a classroom setting, which can be effective for improving their reading and writing skills. However, they often lack the opportunity to practice speaking and listening in real-life situations. On the other hand, studying English in an English-speaking country provides students with immersion in the language and culture. They have the chance to interact with native speakers on a daily basis, which helps them improve their speaking and listening skills dramatically. They also have access to authentic materials such as newspapers, magazines, and movies, which can enhance their reading and listening abilities.Personally, I believe that studying English in anEnglish-speaking country is more effective in terms of language acquisition. However, studying English in China can also be beneficial if students make an effort to practice speaking and listening outside of the classroom.Part II:The Importance of Reading in English LearningReading plays a crucial role in English learning as it helps students improve their vocabulary, grammar, and comprehension skills. By reading extensively, students are exposed to a wide range of words and sentence structures, which can help them express themselves more clearly and fluently. Additionally, reading provides insight into the culture and customs of English-speaking countries, which is essential for effective communication. To utilize reading to improve their English proficiency, students should read a variety of materials such as newspapers, novels, and academic articles. They should also make a habit of looking up unfamiliar words and phrases to expand their vocabulary. Furthermore, students can practice reading aloud to improve their pronunciation and intonation. In my opinion, reading is a vital component of English learning that should not be overlooked. It not only enhances language skills but also broadens the mind and enriches one's understanding of the world.Overall, by recognizing the differences between studying English in China and studying English in an English-speaking country, as well as the importance of reading in English learning, students can effectively improve their English proficiency and communication skills.。

Some people believe that social media has made communication easier and more convenient, while others argue that it has led to a decline in the quality of our interactions. What is your opinion on this issue? In my opinion, social media has greatly transformed the way we communicate in both positive and negative ways. On the one hand, social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram have made it easier for us to connect with friends andfamily, regardless of geographical boundaries. We can now communicate with people from all over the world instantly, share updates about our lives, and stay connected with our loved ones.Furthermore, social media has also played a crucial role in spreading important information quickly and efficiently. During emergencies or natural disasters, social media platforms have been used to alert people about safety measures and provide real-time updates. Moreover, social media has empowered individuals to voice their opinions and share their ideas with a wide audience, leading to greater social awareness and activism. However, the influence of social media on modern communication is not without its drawbacks. The rise of social media has led to a decline in face-to-face interactions, as people often prefer to communicate through screens rather than in person. This has resulted in a lack of genuine connection and understanding between individuals, as the nuances of communication such as body language and tone of voice are lost in online interactions.Additionally, the prevalence of social media has also given rise to issues such as cyberbullying, misinformation, and addiction. The anonymity and distance provided by social media have made it easier for people to engage in harmful behaviorsand spread false information, leading to negative consequences for individuals and society as a whole. In conclusion, while social media has undoubtedly revolutionized the way we communicate, it is important to be mindful of its impact on our interactions. We should strive to strike a balance between online and offline communication, use social media responsibly, and be aware of the potential pitfalls of excessive reliance on technology for social interaction.答案:The Influence of Social Media on Modern CommunicationIn recent years, the rapid development of social media platforms has had a profound impact on how we communicate with each other. With the rise of the internet and various language learning applications, learners now have access to a wide range of resources to improve their language skills. In this essay, we will discuss the impact of technology on language learning. One of the key benefits of technology in language learning is the accessibility of resources. Some people worry that printed dictionaries may disappear one day. But I believe that electronic dictionaries will not kill printed ones.First, printed dictionaries are much cheaper than theelectronic ones. Many students, who use dictionaries most often, can hardly afford an expensive electronic dictionary. Therefore, the printed ones are exactly what they need. Second, scholars prefer printed dictionaries to electronic ones. Holding a thick, heavy dictionary is what a teacher used to do, and I believe that they will like to keep this habit. Third, only the printed dictionaries can be colleted into libraries or be put on our private bookshelves. We may use an electronic dictionary very often, but we will never collect it, since it's designed to be used, not to be collected.Of course electronic dictionaries will be more popular in the future, because they are really convenient. But the printed ones are still needed and will not be replaced. The two kinds of dictionaries are just complementary to each other.专项训练二Nowadays the Internet is wildly used for studying, shopping, entertainment, etc. on the campus. Some people say that the Internet facilitates students' lives, but others worry that it might affect students' study. In my opinion, the Internet is good for college students when it is used appropriately. The Internet is good for college students. First, students can collect many kinds of information via the Internet. When students find something interesting in the book, but their teacher cannot give them more details or answer all their questions in class, they can search the Internet after class to find the details or answers by themselves. Second, the Internet keeps students updated with what is happening all over the world. Just by browsing the web-page, students can read a lot of news. They can also type on some key words to search and follow any affair on the Internet. They don't have to search piles of newspapers and thus save much time for studyIn one word, the Internet facilitates students' lives when it is used reasonably. Now more and more college students are becoming aware of the convenience and the importance of using the Internet.专项训练三Helping strangers used to be considered as a virtue. 专四作文真题与范文(通用23篇)_1
专四作文真题与范文(通用23篇)The importance of extracurricular activitiesCollege is a place to raise all-round intellectuals, which means that life on campus should consist of diverse activities rather than mere academic studies; and that’s why extracurricular activities become important. For one thing, extracurricular activities can provide students with real-life experience in decision-making and problem-solving, through which some specific knowledge or skills are required. For example, the development of leadership skills occurs as students assume ownership for the success of their organization. Such experience will help them more about themselves and point the way to their future career. For another, participation in extracurricular activities will enable students to develop a balance between academic accomplishments and social development. This necessary balance will greatly aid each student to more successfully encounter the challenges of our contemporary society. Moreover, participating in extracurricular activities could also boost students’ development of interpersonal relationship. The awareness of responsibility, cooperation and punctuality, are fostered as each student interacts with other members of their group. In short, extracurricular activities are vital because they could helpstudents explore their interests and talents, teach them to manage their time and know their limits, as well as fit them in with other students.以上就是为大家整理的英语专四真题写作范文,希望能够对大家有所帮助。
专业英语四级写作模拟题3
专业英语四级写作模拟题3PART ⅠWRITINGSECTION A COMPOSITION1. Nowadays, some professors spend much time on their scientific research but ignore their teaching task. This phenomenon has caused many debates. What's your opinion?Write on ANSWER SHEET THREE a composition of about 200 words on the following topic:What Is the Main Task of a University Professor? You are to write in three parts:In the first part, state specifically what your opinion is.In the second part, provide one or two reasons to support your opinion. In the last part, bring what you have written to a natural conclusion or make a summary.Marks will be awarded for content, organization, grammar and appropriateness. Failure to follow the instructions may result in a loss of marks.答案:What Is the Main Task of a University Professor?Nowadays, some professors spend so much time on their scientific research projects and thesis composing that they have little time to think about how to teach their students. This phenomenon has caused a heated debate. Some people think these professors are spraying from their main task, while others don't agree this argument. Weighing up the pros and cons, I prefer to the latter one.My view is mainly based on the following reasons. For one thing, I think, university professors are the main force of scientific research work. Had it not these intellectuals, many advanced technologies could not be developed. For another, scientific research work and teaching work are not conflicting with each other. Instead, they complement each other. Working on scientific research can help a professor improve his professional ability, which in turn is favorable to his teaching. From the above-mentioned, we can safely come to the conclusion that the professors in the universities should be encouraged to make scientific research. But it is worth noting that some professors are too indulged in their scientific research projects for fame or higher position so as to ignore their teaching. These professors have to be reminded to make self-examination on their behaviors.SECTION B NOTE-WRITING1. Write on ANSWER SHEET THREE a note of about 50~60 words based on the following situation: Suppose you are Li Song. Your cousin Wu Xin is going to take the college entrance examination and feels hard to decide on his major, write a note to him giving your suggestions.Marks will be awarded for content, organization, grammar and appropriateness.答案:April 16, 2011Dear Wu Xin,I have learned that you couldn't decide on your major with the college entrance examination approaching. In my opinion, you may take English as your major. On the one hand, English is a hot subject, so you needn't worry about your future employment. 英语专四材料作文真题The Importance of English Proficiency for Chinese Students。
Introduction:English proficiency has become increasingly important for Chinese students in recent years. With the globalization of the economy and the rise of English as the lingua franca, being able to communicate effectively in English has become a crucial skill for success in both academic and professional settings. In this article, we will explore the reasons why English proficiency is important for Chinese students and discuss some strategies to improve their language skills.Body:1. Global Communication:English is the most widely spoken language in the world, with over 1.5 billion people speaking it as their first or second language. By having a good command of English, Chinese students can easily communicate with people from different countries and cultures. This is particularly important in today's interconnected world, where cross-cultural communication is essential for international trade, diplomacy, and academic collaboration.2. Academic Opportunities:English is the dominant language in academia, with the majority of scientific research, scholarly journals, and conference proceedings published in English. Proficiency in English allows Chinese students to access a wealth of knowledge and educational resources that are not available in their native language. It opens up opportunities for them to study abroad, attend international conferences, and collaborate with researchers from around the world.3. Career Advancement:English proficiency is highly valued by employers in many industries. In today's globalized job market, companies are increasingly looking for candidates who can communicate effectively with clients and colleagues from different countries. Being able to speak English fluently gives Chinese students a competitive edge and increases their chances of landing a job with a multinational company or pursuing a successful career in an international setting.4. Personal Development:Learning English goes beyond just acquiring a new language. It also broadens one's horizons, exposes individuals to different cultures, and enhances their understanding of the world. By immersing themselves in English language learning, Chinese students can develop critical thinking skills, improve their creativity, and become more open-minded. These qualities are highly valued in today's rapidly changing and interconnected world.Strategies to Improve English Proficiency:1. Immersion:One of the most effective ways to improve English proficiency is through immersion. This can be achieved by studying abroad, participating in exchange programs, or even by surrounding oneself with English-speaking environments through movies, TV shows, and online resources. Immersion helps students to practice their language skills in real-life situations and accelerates their learning process.2. Regular Practice:Consistency is key when it comes to language learning. Chinese students should make it a habit to practice English regularly, whether it's through reading books, listening to podcasts, watching English movies, or engaging in conversations with native speakers. By incorporating English into their daily lives, students can gradually improve their language skills and build confidence in using the language.3. Language Exchange:Finding language exchange partners can be a great way for Chinese students to practice English and help others learn Chinese in return. Language exchange allows students to engage in meaningful conversations with native speakers, learn about different cultures, and gain insights into idiomatic expressions and colloquialisms that are not typically taught in classrooms. Conclusion:English proficiency is crucial for Chinese students in today's globalized world. It opens up opportunities for global communication, academic advancement, career development, and personal growth. By utilizing strategies such as immersion, regular practice, and language exchange, Chinese students can enhance their English language skills and prepare themselves for success in an increasingly interconnected and competitive world.。

专业英语四级(作文)模拟试卷90(题后含答案及解析) 题型有: 6. WRITINGPART VI WRITING1.Should Young Children Use Computer Every Day? Computer is a very useful tool to us. But some experts say using a computer every day can have more negative than positive effects on young children. Do you agree or disagree? Write a composition of about 200 words on the following topic: Should Young Children Use Computer Every Day? You are to write in three parts. In the first part, state specifically what your opinion is. In the second part, provide one or two reasons to support your opinion. In the last part, bring what you have written to a natural conclusion or make a summary.正确答案:Should Young Children Use Computer Every Day? In my extended family, all of the young children under 15 are near-sighted. When asked about the cause of near-sightedness, they all confessed that they used computer too often and too much. In light of this tragedy, I think children should not use computer every day. First of all, using computer too often could harm young children’s eyesight. Children’s organs are extremely sensitive and unstable. If they receive too much stimulus from the computer screens, their eyes will be affected and symptoms of near-sightedness will occur. Secondly, computers would confine young children in their rooms and deprive them of the communication between them and the outside world. It is reported that two thirds of teenagers are room-bound, and 1 in 15 of them would not leave their room during weekends, blogging. What they miss are the unique opportunities to experience different things. Youth could be better spent in traveling, taking on hobbies and many other interesting activities. These would help young children to develop into an all-round person. In conclusion, young children should not use computer on daily basis. They should go out and explore the infinite possibilities that life promises.解析:本题属于“立场选择型”作文,涉及的题材是“科学技术”。

专业英语四级(作文)模拟试卷36(题后含答案及解析) 题型有: 6. WRITINGPART VI WRITING (45 MIN)SECTION A COMPOSITION (35 MIN)1.With the popularity of reality shows, more and more stars or celebrities are seen on various TV entertainment programs. Some people strongly advise to reduce star reality shows, for the fear that the universal entertainment will exert bad influence on our behavior. What is your idea of star reality shows? Write a composition of about 200 words on the following topic: Should Star Reality Shows Be Decreased?正确答案:Should Star Reality Shows Be Decreased? Since stars or celebrities often have great charisma to attract and affect ordinary people, those reality shows they attend can arouse our reflection and discussion on some issues we may have ignored before. Let’s take the example of a well-known star reality show “Dad, Where Are We Going?”Not only does the program trigger our precious memory about care and love from fathers, but different ways of interaction between star fathers and their children bring about a fierce discussion about the family education and let us rethink the way we get along with our families. In addition, star reality shows, to some extent, have been used recently as an important way to introduce China’s regions and to promote tourism of the place where they have been filmed. When “Chinese Running Man” , a reality TV show that gets popular Chinese stars to complete different tasks outdoors, filmed a segment in Dunhuang, Gansu province, it brought a lot of good publicity to the area. After the show was broadcast, there were hundreds of news reports on Gansu and thus it attracted thousands of tourists throughout the country. It is unnecessary to fix our eyes on tiny shortcomings of some star reality shows because, on the one hand, programs demonstrating what the society wants and needs will definitely retain and if not, they will finally vanish from sight; on the other hand, many star reality shows benefit the audience and the economic growth.解析:本题是一个观点论证型题目,核心问题是如何看待明星真人秀。
专四作文真题竞争和合作
专四作文真题竞争和合作English Version.Competition and cooperation are two fundamental aspects of human existence. They are present in all spheres of life, from the smallest interpersonal interactions to the largest global events. Both competition and cooperation can have positive and negative effects on individuals and society as a whole.Competition can be a powerful motivator. It can drive people to achieve their full potential and to strive for excellence. It can also lead to innovation and progress, as people compete to develop new and better ways of doing things. However, competition can also have negative consequences. It can lead to conflict, stress, and anxiety. It can also create a sense of inequality, as some peopleare more successful than others.Cooperation, on the other hand, can be a source ofgreat strength and resilience. It allows people to achieve goals that they would not be able to achieve on their own. It can also lead to a sense of community and belonging. In other situations, cooperation may be the better choice. The key is to find the right balance between competition and cooperation, depending on the specific circumstances.中文回答:竞争与合作是人类存在的基本方面之一。
英语专业四级考试作文题库及答案
英语专业四级考试作文题库及答案全文共6篇示例,供读者参考篇1The Big Book of Writing for the CET-4 ExamHi there! My name is Timmy, and I'm 8 years old. My big sister is studying at university, and she has to take this really important test called the CET-4. It's all about writing in English, which is kind of like a superpower if you ask me! She's been practicing a lot, and she even let me take a peek at some of the topics she might have to write about. They seem prettygrown-up, but I'll do my best to explain them in simple words. One topic is about whether students should be allowed to have part-time jobs while they're in school. My sister says some people think it's a good idea because it teaches you responsibility and how to manage your time. But others worry that it might distract you from your studies or make you too tired to focus in class. Personally, I think a part-time job could be fun, like working at an ice cream shop or something! But I can see how it might be hard to juggle with all your homework and extracurriculars.Another topic is about the role of social media in our lives. Now, this is something I know a lot about because all the cool kids are on TikTok these days! Social media can be great for staying connected with friends and sharing silly videos. But my mom also warns me about the dangers of strangers online and how you shouldn't believe everything you see on the internet. It's a bit of a double-edged sword, I guess. One topic that sounds really complicated is about the impact of globalization on different cultures. From what I understand, it's about how the world is becoming more connected, and different countries are influencing each other more than ever before. On one hand, it's neat to learn about new customs and traditions. But on the other hand, some people worry that it might cause certain cultures to get lost or forgotten. I just hope globalization doesn't make my favorite snacks from around the world harder to find! There's also a topic about environmental protection and sustainable development. This one is really important because we all need to take care of our planet Earth! Things like recycling, using less plastic, and finding clean energy sources can help make sure our world stays healthy for a long, long time. My class did a whole unit on this, and we even started a little garden atour school. It's crazy to think that the choices we make today can affect what the world looks like for future generations.Lastly, there's a topic about the role of technology in education. I have to admit, I'm a bit of a tech whiz kid myself! Using computers and tablets in the classroom can make learning way more fun and interactive. But my teacher also reminds us that we can't rely on technology too much and that we still need to practice things like handwriting and focusing without getting distracted by our devices. Everything in moderation, as they say!Well, those are some of the main topics my sister might have to write about for her CET-4 exam. They all seem pretty heavy and grown-up, but I tried my best to break them down in a way that even a kid like me can understand. Writing is hard work, but I have a feeling my sister is going to knock this test out of the park! She's been practicing her sample answers like crazy, and I've even tried to help her out by proofreading a few drafts (you know, just to make sure they sound good to a second-grader's ears). No matter what topics come up on the actual exam, I know my sister will do great. She's one of the smartest and most hard-working people I know. And who knows, maybe one day I'll be the one taking the CET-4 myself! But for now, I'll just stick towriting stories about my adventures at the playground. Best of luck to all you university students out there – you've got this!篇2My Big Sister's TEM-4 ExamMy big sister Jenny is a senior in college studying English. She has to take this really big test called the TEM-4 to graduate. It's a tough test that checks if you're really good at English. The writing part seems super hard! She's been practicing a lot of sample prompts from past exams. The prompts always give you a topic and you have to write a long essay about it in English within a time limit. Sometimes you have to write an opinion essay arguing for or against something. Other times it's an analytical essay where you examine an issue from different angles. My sister showed me some of the topics she's been practicing:One prompt asked her to discuss whether universities should require students to do community service to graduate. That's kind of like when my teacher makes us clean up the playground sometimes! Another one wanted her to analyze the effects of social media on interpersonal communication. I'm not really sure what that means but it sounds complicated. For the analytical prompts, she has to introduce the topic objectively first. Then she examines it from multiple perspectives, using supporting evidence and examples. Finally, she states her own view based on the analysis. It's kinda like writing a big book report! For the argumentative essays, she picks one side and argues forcefully for it. She has to use logical reasoning and strong examples to persuade the reader. One topic wanted her to take a stance on whether the government should censor online content. Another asked if parents should pay students for good grades. I don't think my parents would ever do that!My sister lets me read her practice essays sometimes. I don't understand a lot of the vocabulary and complex sentences. But she's a really good writer so her essays always flow smoothly. I can kind of follow the general ideas even if I miss the details. She showed me one of the sample essays she's been studying too. It was an analysis of the pros and cons of implementing a four-day work week. The writer examined how it could improve work-life balance and productivity. But they also looked at potential drawbacks like higher operating costs for companies. In the end, the essay concluded that the benefits likely outweighed the risks overall. My sister has been getting good scores on her practice prompts from her professor. But she's still really nervous for the actual TEM-4 exam! The time pressure makes it extra hard. You only get 30 minutes to write the whole essay during the test. That doesn't seem like nearly enough time to me.I'll be cheering her on from home when she takes the big test next week. I know she's been working incredibly hard to prepare. Fingers crossed that all her practice pays off! Maybe she'll let me read her exam essay after if she does well. Even though I probably still won't understand most of the big words.I just hope I never have to take a crazy difficult test like the TEM-4 when I grow up. Analyzing all those writing prompts seems like WAY too much work! I'll just stick to writing fun stories about my dog or what I did over summer vacation. No thank you to those stressful timed essays!篇3My Big Sister's Big English TestMy big sister Lucy is in college and she has to take this really big English test called the TEM-4. It stands for Test for English Majors and the 4 means it's the fourth level, which is the highest.Lucy has been studying really hard for it because it's a super important test. If she doesn't pass, she can't graduate!Lucy let me look at some of the practice questions and I thought they were pretty hard. There are different sections like listening, reading, writing, and translating. For the listening, you have to listen to recordings and answer questions about what you heard. The reading has long passages and you need to answer comprehension questions. Writing is where you have to write an essay or letter based on a prompt. And translating means going back and forth between English and Chinese.Lucy showed me a practice listening question where they played a news report about climate change. There were details like statistics on rising temperatures and sea levels that you had to listen carefully for. On the real test, missing even one number could mean getting that question wrong! The reading passages looked super long and had lots of big vocabulary words I didn't know. I don't know how Lucy can understand all of that! For the writing section, one of the prompts was to write a letter to the editor of a newspaper about an issue in your community. Another one asked you to give your opinion on whether kids should get allowances or not. I tried writing the allowance one and only got a few sentences before getting stuck.Writing a whole essay in English from start to finish seems impossible to me!The translation questions were crazy too. You had to go between Chinese and English, making sure all the little details and idioms were right. Like this Chinese phrase "孺子可教" which basically means you can teach a child when they are young. But the English translation has to capture that same meaning perfectly. No wonder Lucy has been cramming so much!I really admire how hard Lucy has been working to prepare. She makes color-coded flashcards, listens to English podcasts while doing chores, and writes practice essays every week. Sometimes I hear her in her room, reading passages out loud over and over to practice. It's like she never stops studying! The TEM-4 must be the biggest, hardest English test there is. Just the practice questions looked incredibly difficult to me as a third grader. I can't imagine having to do the full four-hour test! Lucy keeps telling me "The TEM-4 is no joke." I can see why after looking at those samples.I really hope Lucy passes her big test. She has been pouring her heart into getting ready. Mom and Dad keep encouraging her and telling her they're proud no matter what. I'm rooting for my amazing big sis too! Sometimes I secretly dream about beingan English master like her someday and taking the terrifying TEM-4 myself when I'm all grown up. For now though, I'll just stick to my simple English homework and leave those monster exams to Lucy. Passing that TEM-4 would be like climbing Mount Everest!I'm going to bake Lucy her favorite cookies for good luck before her test day. I'll cheer my loudest when she walks across that stage in her cap and gown. Maybe then she can finally sleep in instead of staying up all night with her English textbooks! Lucy is my hero for how focused and determined she has been. I just know she's going to ace the TEM-4 after all her incredibly hard work. Then we can celebrate because my brilliant big sister will be an official English expert!篇4My Big Sister is Taking the CET-4 Test!Hi everyone! I'm super excited because my big sister Jenny is taking the College English Test Band 4 soon. That's a really important test for English majors at universities in China. She has been studying so hard! I've been watching her practice and wanted to share what I've learned about the CET-4 writing section. The writing part has two sections - writing a composition and an email/letter writing task. For the composition, there are several different types of essay prompts she might get. One kind is an argumentative essay where you have to pick a side on an issue and support your view with reasons and examples. Some argumentative prompt topics could be:College students should be required to attend live classes vs classes should be online onlySocial media does more harm than good for teenagersProtecting the environment should be the top priority for governmentsMy sister practiced writing a sample argumentative essay about whether high school students should have a part-time job or not. She argued that working part-time can teach responsibility and time management skills. But she also said it could interfere with studies if not balanced properly. I thought she made good points on both sides!Another type of composition is an expository essay that explains or informs about a topic using facts, examples and logic. Some expository prompt ideas could be:The influence of the internet on educationThe benefits and risks of artificial intelligenceThe reasons for rising obesity rates around the worldFor her expository practice, Jenny wrote about the evolution of transportation technology over time. She covered the major innovations like the wheel, steam engines, automobiles, airplanes and spacecraft. Her essay was really informative and interesting! There are also prompts for descriptive essays where you paint a picture with words describing a scene, object, person or experience vividly. Like:Describe your favorite outdoor place or sceneryDescribe a treasured keepsake or memento and why it's meaningfulDescribe the most fascinating place you've traveled toJenny's practice descriptive essay was about our family beach vacation last summer. She described the bright blue water, the warm golden sand, the salty ocean breeze and the fun of splashing in the waves. Her words made me feel like I was there again! The last common type is a narrative essay that tells a true story, usually with a lesson or theme. Narrative prompts could be something like:Narrate a lesson you learned through overcoming an obstacleDescribe an experience that taught you an important life valueTell a story about an inspiring person and what you learned from themFor her narrative practice, my sister wrote about the time she won first place at the city science fair. She talked about all her hard work on the project, dealing with setbacks, and how proud she felt when announced as the winner. It showed that perseverance and passion pay off.No matter what type of composition prompt she gets, Jenny has to write a five-paragraph essay with an intro, three body paragraphs and a conclusion. The intro has a thesis statement and the body paragraphs all support the main idea with details and examples. The conclusion nicely wraps it all up.Whew, writing a whole essay in English in just 30 minutes seems really hard to me! But Jenny has been practicing a lot toget her thoughts organized and write clearly and smoothly under time pressure. I admire her diligence. The second section of the CET-4 writing is an email/letter writing task based on a situation described in the prompt. It could be anything like:Write an email to your professor explaining why you need an assignment extensionWrite a letter to the editor of a newspaper about an issue concerning your communityWrite an email to your new roommate introducing yourself and suggesting dorm room policiesFor this part, Jenny has to use the proper format and conventions for an email or letter. It also needs to have the right politeness level and tone depending on the recipient and purpose. She let me read one practice where the prompt was to write an email to her high school's principal proposing a helpful new student club or school event. Jenny wrote persuasively about starting an environmental awareness group that could do things like beach cleanups, recycling initiatives and Earth Day activities. I thought it was a great idea!My sister has been using example essay prompts and sample responses from books, websites and previous test materials to get ready. She says it's important to study the rubrics too so she knows exactly what the graders are looking for.Writing is just one part of the CET-4 though. There are also sections for listening, reading, and translation between English and Chinese. I'm glad I don't have to take a huge test like that yet!I really admire how dedicated Jenny has been to improving her English skills over the years. She has worked so hard and it will pay off. I'll be cheering her on when she takes the big CET-4 test in a few weeks. Heck, she's so prepared that maybe I should have her start tutoring me in English too!No matter what though, I'm proud of my big sis. She sets a great example through her perseverance, passion for learning, and always aiming high. Let's wish her good luck!篇5My Big Brother's English TestMy big brother Jack is in college and he has to take this really big English test called the College English Test Band 4Exam. It's a huge deal for him because if he doesn't pass it, he can't graduate! I don't know too much about it, but I'll tell you what I do know.Jack has been studying so hard for this test. He has a big thick book full of practice exams and sample questions. Sometimes when I go into his room, I see him with his headphones on listening to English audio or watching English movies and TV shows. He says it's to practice his listening skills for the test. The test has different sections like listening, reading, writing, and translation. From what I can tell, the listening part has recordings of people talking and you have to answer questions about what they said. The reading has long passages that you read and then answer comprehension questions. I hate reading comprehension questions! They're always trying to trick you.For the writing section, Jack has been practicing different essay types. I took a peek at his book and saw prompts like "Some people think it's better to have samll classes with fewer students. Others think large classes with more students are better. Discuss both views and give your opinion." Or "Watching movies and TV shows is a good way to learn about other cultures. To what extent do you agree or disagree?"Jack says the writing section is really important because they aren't just grading your English skills, but also your logic, organization, and how well you can present and support an argument. He's been outlining his essays and having me read them out loud to check for mistakes. The translation part seems hard too. Jack has to translate passages from English into Chinese and from Chinese into English. He says it's tricky because you can't just translate things word-for-word. You have to really understand the meaning and cultural context.I don't know how Jack is going to remember everything for this huge test! His sample book has lists of vocabulary words and idioms he needs to know. It also has grammar review sections on things like articles, verb tenses, prepositions, and all sorts of other confusing grammar rules.Jack's test is coming up next month. He seems really stressed about it, but I know he'll do great because he's been working so hard. I'm going to make him a good luck card with stickers and drawings to cheer him on. Maybe I'll draw a picture of him winning a award for getting the highest score!I just hope when it's my turn to take big tests like this, there won't be any sections on grammar or writing essays. That soundslike my idea of a nightmare! I'll just become a professional video game player instead. Let me know if you need any tips on beating Level 9 of Zombie Blasters 3 - I'm kind of an expert!篇6College English Test Band 4 Writing Topics and AnswersHi there! My name is Lily and I'm going to tell you all about the writing part of the College English Test Band 4 exam. It's a big test that lots of university students in China have to take. I'm just a kid, but I have some older friends who had to write essays for this test, so I'll share what they told me!The writing section asks you to write on different topics. You have to plan your ideas, make an outline, and then write a whole essay of around 400-600 words in English. That's a lot of words! Here are some of the topics my friends had to write about:Argue for or against the view that reading fiction has more benefits than watching movies. My friend Michael had to write on this one. He said reading books is way better than watching movies. Books let your imagination go wild picturing the characters and scenes. She disagreed and said money can't buy true happiness, just temporary pleasures. Real happiness comes from within - from having meaningful relationships, a sense of purpose, and being content with what you have. She wrote that psychologists have found money stops increasing life satisfaction after your basic needs are met.To what extent do you agree that celebrities have a responsibility to be good role models?David's essay was on this topic. He said yes, celebrities absolutely should set a good example since they are in the public eye and have influence over young fans. But he also argued some get too much attention and scrutiny on their personal lives. She didn't think classroom learning would become totally obsolete. While digital tools will keep getting more advanced for self-study, she felt there were still unique benefits to having a teacher provide guidance, leading discussions, and students learning together in-person. The ideal will likely blend digital and classroom instruction.Well, those are some sample topics my older friends wrote about. I tried to remember their main points, but of course their actual essays were much more detailed and had better explanations! The test graders look at your organization, development of ideas, language use, and grammar. It's not easy writing a long academic essay like that in English.I'm just a kid, so I won't have to worry about this College English Test for many more years. But I hope sharing those example topics and basic ideas helps give you a sense of what it's like! The topics cover all kinds of subjects - from education and technology to money and celebrities. You really have to think critically about different perspectives. If I had to write one of those essays now, I don't know what I'd say! Maybe I'd argue that kids shouldn't have to take big tests like that. We have enough stress with schoolwork andextracurriculars already. Just let us play and use our imaginations! But I guess that's a topic for another day. Let me know if you have any other questions!。

You can see posters on doors, signs on buses, pictures in magazines, and commercials on TV. Though these signs of advertising are often disliked, I feel that, overall, advertising has very positive results. The harmful effects of advertising are obvious. When you are listening to beautiful music on the radio, a commercial is disturbing when it interrupts your program and changes your mood. Television commercials are the worst of all. Your program is stopped, and you are forced to watch an advertisement unless you actively change the channel or leave the room. I think that there should be laws to limit the advertisers’ right to interrupt TV and radio programs. In general, however, I think that the positive results of advertisements are beneficial to society and individuals. When I do shopping, I can use advertisements in newspapers to compare prices, features, and quality of the product I want to buy. By being more informed, I can buy something that will benefit me in the long run. With advertisements, people save a lot of time in shopping, looking for jobs, etc.All in all, for a wise and educated shopper, the helpful effects of advertising outweigh the harmful effects.Bicycle·自行车【写作佳句及惯用表达】1.
