Duty Report在大学英语教学中的运用[摘要] 本文讨论了Duty Report作为一种开课形式在大学英语教学中的独特作用;结合教学实践,重点阐述了此种形式在具体应用中应注意的几个问题及如何将这种形式更好地贯穿于大学英语课堂教学中。

通常由一名学生作几分钟的报告,然后大家就提出的主题进行问答或讨论。
其内容丰富、题材广泛,既可以是与课文有关的话题,也可以是国内外新闻、名人轶事、名胜古迹等。
形式多样,可采取模仿、复述、配音、独白、演讲、角色表演、英文诗歌朗诵等。
Duty Report是大学英语课中不可缺少的一部分,是其他练习项目不能替代的。
如果在大学四年教学中较好地运用这种形式,将使学生受益匪浅。
一、Duty Report必不可少1.为学生提供更多的听说机会,弥补口语教学的不足。
交际教学法认为“语言为交际而用”,失去了交际的目的,语言就失去了存在的价值。
提高语言的交际能力是外语教学的最终目标。
21世纪是一个国际化的知识经济时代。
我们要接受这个挑战,就要在政治、经济、军事、科学、文化等各个领域与世界接轨,向强国学习。
因此,我们急需既懂技术又能与外国专家进行交流的双料人才。
而大学英语课堂就成为培养这种人才的首选场所。
作为教师,我们有责任提高学生的英语交际能力。
而且《高等学校英语专业英语教学大纲》(以下称新《大纲》)中也明确指出,在全面发展各项语言技能的同时,突出语言交际能力的培养。
听说是语言交际能力的一种重要形式,是实现交际的重要手段。
因此,听说能力的培养在英语教学中占有重要地位。
然而,现阶段的大学课程设置中,听力和口语课课时有限,练习远远不够。
Duty Report可以给学生提供更多的练习机会,弥补听说课时有限的不足。

Embrace the Near Win In Sarah’s speech, she told us that success is a moment, but what we' re always celebrating is creativity a nd mastery. We should convert success into maste ry. Success is like hitting the ten ring, but mastery is knowing that it means nothing if you c an't do it again and again. Mastery is not just the same as excellence, thoug h. It's not the same as success, which's as an event, a moment in time, and a l abel that the world confers upon you. Mastery is not a commitment to a goa l but to a constant pursuit. Mastery is in the reaching, not the arriving. It's in constantly wa nting to close that gap between where you are and where you want to be.

Part of the reason that the near win is inbuilt to mastery is because the greater our proficiency , the more clearly we might see that we don‘t know all that we thought we did（Dunning-Kruger effect达克效应）.Success motivates us, but a near win can propel us in an ongoing quest. We thrive not when we've done it all, ቤተ መጻሕፍቲ ባይዱut when we still ha ve more to do.

Also, our stress response has a built-in mechanism for stress resilience, and that mechanism is human connection.(我们机体对于压力的反应建 立了一种 释放压力的内在机制， 而这 一机制便是人类联系。) People who spend time caring for others show absolutely no stress-related increase in dying. Zero. Caring creates resilience. So, we should view stress in a positive way and reach out to others either to seek support or to help someone else when under stress. And then we're actually saying that we can trust ourselves to handle life's challenges, and we're remembering that we don't have to face them alone.
