As the summer comes to an end, it's time to start preparing for the GRE exam, which is just a few months away. For many students, this is a crucial time to buckle down and start studying for the test. In order to create a productive and efficient study plan, it's important to set clear goals, allocate time for different study tasks, and monitor progress along the way.Week 1-2: Setting Clear GoalsThe first step in creating an effective study plan is to set clear and realistic goals. The GRE exam assesses a variety of skills, including verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning, and analytical writing. Therefore, it's important to decide on target scores for each section of the test. For example, if your target score for verbal reasoning is 160, quantitative reasoning is 165, and analytical writing is 4.0, then these numbers will guide your study plan.During the first two weeks of September, it's essential to familiarize yourself with the structure and content of the GRE exam. This includes understanding the types of questions, the time limits for each section, and the scoring system. Additionally, you can take a diagnostic practice test to gauge your starting point and identify areas that need improvement.Week 3-4: Allocating Time for Different Study TasksAfter setting clear goals and understanding the GRE exam, the next step is to allocate time for different study tasks. This includes creating a study schedule that accounts for reading practice, math practice, and writing practice. It's important to devote enough time to each section of the test, as well as to review key concepts and strategies that are crucial to success. For instance, you may decide to spend two hours a day on verbal reasoning, two hours a day on quantitative reasoning, and one hour a day on analytical writing. Additionally, you can allocate time for taking full-length practice tests, reviewing vocabulary, and practicing essay writing. It's helpful to organize study tasks in a way that allows for regular review and reinforcement of key concepts.Week 5-6: Monitoring Progress and Making AdjustmentsAs you progress through your study plan, it's important to monitor your performance and make adjustments as needed. This may involve tracking your practice test scores, keeping a log of study hours, and paying attention to areas where you're struggling. By monitoring your progress, you can identify specific areas that need improvement and make changes to your study plan accordingly. For example, if you notice that your verbal reasoning scores are consistently lower than your target score, you may need to allocate more time for reading comprehension practiceor vocabulary review. Likewise, if you're consistently running out of time on the quantitative reasoning section, you may need to work on time management strategies. By staying attentive to your performance, you can make targeted adjustments to your study plan and improve your chances of success. In conclusion, September is a critical time for GRE preparation, and creating an effective study plan is essential to achieving your target scores. By setting clear goals, allocating time for different study tasks, and monitoring progress along the way, you can make the most of your study time and maximize your chances of success on the GRE exam. By following this plan, you can make significant strides in improving your vocabulary and expanding your language abilities.Week 1: Assessment and Goal SettingThe first step in any learning plan is to assess your current knowledge and set goals for improvement. Take some time at the beginning of September to evaluate your existing vocabulary and identify areas where you need to improve. You can use online vocabulary tests or assessment tools to gauge your current level of proficiency.Based on your assessment, set specific, measurable goals for the month. For example, you might aim to learn 50 new words by the end of September, or to improve your understanding of a specific set of vocabulary related to a particular topic or subject.Week 2: Daily Word Lists and FlashcardsOnce you have set your goals, it's time to start actively learning new words. One of the most effective methods for vocabulary acquisition is to work with daily word lists and flashcards. There are many resources available online that provide daily word lists, along with definitions, example sentences, and audio pronunciations. Each day, commit to learning 5-10 new words from your chosen list. Write down each word and its definition, and create flashcards to review them regularly. You can use physical flashcards, or digital flashcard apps such as Anki or Quizlet. Spend a few minutes each day reviewing the new words and testing your memory.Week 3: Reading and Contextual LearningIn the third week of September, focus on contextual learning by reading extensively in English. Choose a variety of reading materials, such as news articles, short stories, or non-fiction books, and pay attention to the vocabulary used in each piece. When you encounter unfamiliar words, take the time to look them up and note down their meanings.Try to read for at least 30 minutes each day, and make a habit of recording any new vocabulary that you come across. You can keep a vocabulary notebook or use a digital note-taking app to document new words and their definitions. This will help reinforce your understanding of the words and provide valuable context for their usage.Week 4: Speaking and ApplicationIn the final week of September, focus on applying your new vocabulary in speaking and writing. Practice using your new words in conversations with friends or language exchangepartners, and try to work them into your writing as well. You might write short essays, letters, or journal entries that incorporate the vocabulary you have been learning.Additionally, consider seeking out opportunities to use your new words in real-life situations. This could include participating in English language meetups or clubs, or engaging with English-speaking communities online. The more you practice using your new vocabulary in real-world contexts, the more natural and comfortable it will become.Ongoing Practice and ReviewThroughout the month, be sure to review and reinforce your new vocabulary on a regular basis. Set aside time each week to go back over the words you have learned, and make a point of using them in your daily communication and writing. Consistent practice and exposure are key to retaining new vocabulary and integrating it into your language skills. Furthermore, consider using a variety of different learning resources and methods to support your vocabulary acquisition. In addition to the strategies outlined above, you might explore apps, podcasts, online courses, and other learning materials to supplement your learning plan. The more diverse and engaging your learning experiences, the more motivated and successful you are likely to be.In conclusion, a structured English vocabulary learning plan can be a highly effective way to make progress in your language skills. By setting goals, engaging in daily practice, and actively using new words in context, you can expand your vocabulary and become a more confident and proficient English speaker. With the right approach and dedication, you can make significant strides in your language learning journey throughout the month of September and beyond.。

英语一学习计划
英语一学习计划English:To create a successful English learning plan, it is important to first assess your current level of proficiency in the language. This can be done through various assessments such as a placement test or self-evaluation. Once you have identified your starting point, it is essential to set clear and achievable goals for your language development. These goals could be related to specific language skills such as speaking, listening, reading, and writing, or they could be centered around language proficiency exams or real-life communication scenarios. After setting your goals, it is crucial to develop a well-structured study schedule that includes dedicated time for language practice, vocabulary building, grammar review, and exposure to authentic English materials such as books, articles, and videos. In addition, incorporating regular assessments and progress checks will allow you to track your improvement and make necessary adjustments to your learning plan. Lastly, seeking out opportunities for real-life language practice through conversation exchanges, language meetups, or language immersion programs can further enhance your English learning experience.中文翻译:要制定成功的英语学习计划,首先需要评估您目前的语言熟练程度。

我的学习计划第一段英语
我的学习计划第一段英语I have always been fascinated by languages and their ability to connect people from different parts of the world. As someone who loves to travel and explore new cultures, I believe that being able to speak a foreign language is an invaluable skill. It opens the door to new opportunities, allows for deeper connections with people, and provides a better understanding of the world around us.Currently, I am fluent in my native language and have a good command of English. However, I have always had a strong desire to learn a new language and have been considering which language to focus on. After much thought, research, and consideration, I have decided to learn Spanish. There are several reasons why I have chosen this language, and I am excited to embark on this new journey.First and foremost, Spanish is one of the most widely spoken languages in the world. It is the official language in 21 countries and is spoken by over 460 million people as their first language. This means that by learning Spanish, I will be able to communicate with a large number of people from different parts of the world. Whether I am traveling in Spanish-speaking countries, meeting new people in my own community, or connecting with international businesses, being able to speak Spanish will greatly enhance my interactions and experiences. In addition to its widespread use, I am also drawn to the rich culture and history of the Spanish-speaking world. From the vibrant traditions of Spain to the colorful festivals of Latin America, there is so much to explore and appreciate. By learning Spanish, I will not only be able to communicate with native speakers, but I will also have the opportunity to immerse myself in the art, literature, music, and cuisine of Spanish-speaking countries. I believe that learning a language is not just about mastering grammar and vocabulary, but also about understanding and embracing the culture that is intertwined with it. Moreover, as a student of language, I am also excited by the challenge and complexity of Spanish. The language has a beautiful sound and rhythm, and the varied accents and dialects add an extra layer of intrigue. I am eager to learn about the different verb conjugations, tenses, and idiomatic expressions that make Spanish so unique. I know that learning a new language requires time, patience, and dedication, but I am ready to take on the challenge and immerse myself in the process. With all these factors in mind, I have created a detailed plan for my Spanish language learning journey. I am determined to make the most of this opportunity and achieve a high level of fluency. My plan includes a combination of formal study, practical application, and cultural immersion, as well as clear goals and milestones to measure my progress. To begin with, I will enroll in a comprehensive Spanish language course to establish a solid foundation. I will dedicate a significant amount of time each week to attend classes, complete assignments, and practice speaking and listening. I believe that having astructured learning environment will help me to absorb the basics of grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and comprehension. Additionally, I will supplement my formal study with self-study materials, such as textbooks, workbooks, and online resources, to reinforce my learning and expand my knowledge. In conjunction with my formal study, I also plan to engage in regular conversation practice with native Spanish speakers. I have already identified a few language exchange partners and conversation groups in my area, and I am eager to start conversing with them. I believe that speaking with native speakers is one of the most effective ways to improve fluency and gain confidence in using the language. It will also give me the opportunity to learn about different accents and regional variations, as well as the informal language and slang that is commonly used in everyday conversation.Furthermore, I am committed to immersing myself in the Spanish-speaking culture as much as possible. I will seek out opportunities to attend cultural events, watch Spanish films, listen to Spanish music, and try Spanish cuisine. I will also make an effort to read books, newspapers, and websites in Spanish to further expose myself to the language and broaden my understanding of the culture. By surrounding myself with all things Spanish, I hope to develop a deep appreciation for the language and its cultural significance. As I progress through my language learning journey, I will set specific goals and milestones to keep myself motivated and on track. I plan to take regular assessments to measure my progress and identify areas for improvement. I will also set short-term and long-term goals for my language skills, such as achieving a certain level of proficiency, mastering a specific aspect of grammar, or being able to hold a conversation on a particular topic. I believe that having clear goals and objectives will help me stay focused and disciplined in my learning. In conclusion, my Spanish language learning plan is comprehensive, ambitious, and tailored to my individual needs and interests. I am excited to embark on this new adventure and am committed to putting in the time and effort necessary to achieve my goals. I believe that by learning Spanish, I will not only gain a valuable skill, but also a deeper understanding of the world and its diverse cultures. I am ready to embrace the challenges and rewards that come with learning a new language, and I look forward to the journey ahead.。

Observed declines in the use of such drugs as LSD and PCP since the early 1970s are probably related to increased awareness of the risks of their use, and some of this awareness was the result from these drugs in “underground” papers read by drug users. Such sources are influential, because they do not give a simple “all drugs are terrible for you” message. Drug users know there are big variations in danger among drugs, and that those who ignore or deny this are likely to be ridiculed. This is illustrated by the popularity among young marijuana users of Reefer Madness, a widely unrealistic propaganda film against marijuana made in the 1930s. This film made the rounds of college campuses in the 1970s and joined rock music videos on cable television’s MTV in the 1980s. Instead of deterring marijuana use, it became a cult(风靡一时的)film among users, many of whom got high to watch it.Although persuasion can work for some people if it is balanced and reasonable, other people seem immune to the most reasoned educational efforts. Millions have started smoking even though the considerable health risks of smoking have been well known and publicized for years. Moreover, the usefulness of education lies in primary prevention: prevention of abuse among those who presently have no problem. Hence, Bomier’s contention that “if the Pepsi generation can be persuaded to drink pop wine, they can be persuaded not to drink it while driving” is probably not correct, since most drunken driving is done by people who already have significant drinking problems, and hence seem not to be dissuaded even by much stronger measures such as loss of a driver’s license.1. According to the passage, up to now, efforts to educate people about drugs____.A. has made all people see the danger of drugsB. has succeeded in dissuading people from using drugsC. has been effective only to a certain degreeD. has proved to be a total failure2. The film “Reefer Madness” mentioned in the passage____.A. effectively deterred marijuana useB. was rejected by young marijuana usersC. didn't picture the danger of marijuana realistically3. The message “all drugs are terrible for you” is not influential because____.A. it ignores the fact that drugs vary greatly in dangerB. it gives a false account of the risks of drug useC. some drugs are good for healthD. it does not appear in underground papers4. According to the passage, which of the following statements is NOT true?A. Even balanced and reasonable antidrug persuasion is influential only to some people.B. Most drug users are ignorant of the danger of drugs.C. Punishments such as loss of a driver’s license do not seem to be an effective way to stop drunken drivingD. Primary prevention is a useful principle to be followed in.5. The best title for the passage would be ____.A. Are All Drugs Terrible for You?B. Do People Believe What Underground Papers Say?C. Is There an Increased Awareness of the Risks of Drugs?D. Can Persuasion Reduce Drug Abuse?第二篇:6. According to the passage, which of the following is true?A. All international managers can learn culture.B. Business diversity is not necessary.C. Views differ on how to treat culture in business world.D. Most people do not know foreign culture well.7. According to the author, the model of Pepsi _____.A. is in line with the theories of the school advocating the business is business the world around.B. is different from t he model of McDonald’sC. shows the reverse of globalizationD. has converged cultural differences8. The two schools of thought _____.B. both advocate that different policies be set up in different countriesC. admit the existence of cultural diversity in business worldD. Both A and B9. This article is supposed to be most useful for those _____.A. who are interested in researching the topic of cultural diversityB. who have connections to more than one type of cultureC. who want to travel abroadD. who want to run business on international scaleA. earn 20 percent or more of their revenue overseasB. all have the quality of patienceC. will follow the overseas local culturesD. adopt the policy of internationalization第三篇:Some theorists argue that the minimum wage law can cause problems in the same way. The federal government sets the minimum that an employer must pay workers. The minimum helps people who generally look for unskilled, low paying jobs. However, if the minimum is high, employers may hire fewer workers. Theywill replace workers with machinery. The price, which is the wage that employers must pay, increases. Therefore, other things being equal, the number of workers that employers want decreases. Thus, critics claim, an increase in the minimum wage may cause unemployment. Some poor people may find themselves without jobs instead of with jobs at the minimum wage.Supporters of the minimum wage say that it helps people keep their dignity. Because of the law, workers cannot sell their services for less than the minimum. Furthermore, employers cannot force workers to accept jobs at unfair wages.Economic theory predicts the results of economic decisions such as decisions about farm production, rent control, and the minimum wage. The predictions may be correct only if “other things are equal”. Economists do not agree on some of the predictions. They also do not agree on the value of different decisions. Some economists support a particular decision while others criticize it. Economists do agree, however, that there are no simple answers to economic questions.11. There is the possibility that setting maximum rent may .A. cause a shortage of apartmentsB. worry those who rent apartments as homesC. increase the profits of landlordsD. encourage landlords to invest in building apartments12. According to the critics, rent control .A. will always benefit those who rent apartmentsB. is unnecessaryC. will bring negative effects in the long runD. is necessary under all circumstances13. The problem of unemployment will arise.A. if the minimum wage is set too highB. if the minimum wage is set too lowC. if the workers are unskilledD. if the maximum wage is set14. The passage tells us .A. the relationship between supply and demandB. the possible results of government controlsC. the necessity of government controlD. the urgency of getting rid of government controls15. Which of the following statements is NOT true?A. The results of economic decisions can not always be predicted.B. Minimum wage can not always protect employees.C. Economic theory can predict the results of economic decisions if other factors are not changing.D. Economic decisions should not be based on economic theory.第四篇:“Contact us before writing your application”, or “Make use of our long experience in preparing your curriculum vitae or job history”, is how it is usually expressed. The growth and apparent success of such a specialized service is, of course, a reflection on the current high levels of unemployment. It is also an indication of the growing importance of the curriculum vitae (or job history), with the suggestion that it may now qualify as an art form in its own right.Later, as you moved up the ladder, something slightly more sophisticated was called for. The advice then was to put something in the letter which would distinguish you from the rest. It might be the aggressive approach. “Your search is over. I am the person you are lookin g for”, was a widely used trick that occasionally succeeded. Or it might be some special feature specially designed for the job interview. There is no doubt, however, that it is increasing number of applicants with university education at all points in the process of engaging staff that has led to the greater importance of the curriculum vitae.16. The new type of advertisement which is appearing in newspaper columns .A. informs job hunters of the opportunities availableB. promises to offer useful advice to those looking for employmentC. divides available jobs into various typesD. informs employers of the people available for work17. Nowadays a demand for this specialized type of service has been created because .A. there is a lack of jobs available for artistic peopleB. there are so many top level jobs availableC. there are so many people out of workD. the job history is considered to be a work of art18. In the past it was expected that first job hunters would .A. write an initial letter giving their life historyB. pass some exams before applying for a jobC. have no qualifications other than being able to read and writeD. keep any detailed information until they obtained an interview19. Later, as one went on to apply for more important jobs, one was advised to include in the letter .A. something that would distinguish one from other applicantsB. hinted information about the personality of the applicantC. one’s advantages over others in applying for t he jobD. an occasional trick with the aggressive approachA. there has been an increase in the number of jobs advertisedB. there has been an increase in the number of applicants with degrees●阅读理解7选5:21 . And she used every opportunity during her visit to repeat this message. But, back in London, her views were not shared by some members of the British government, which refused to support a ban on these weapons. Angry politicians launched an attack on the Princess in the press. They described her as “very ill-informed” and a “loose cannon (乱放炮的人).”The Princess responded by brushing aside the criticisms: “This is a distraction we do not need. All I’m trying to do is help.”Opposition parties, the media and the public immediately voiced their support for the Princess. To make matters worse for the government, it soon emerged that the Princess’s trip had been approved by the Foreign Office, and that she was in fact very well-informed about both the situation in Angola and the British governm ent’s policy regarding landmines. The result was a severe embarrassment for thegovernment. To try and limit the damage, the Foreign Secretary, Malcolm Rifkind, claimed that the Princess’s views on landmines were not very different from government policy, and that it was “working towards” a worldwide ban. The Defence Secretary, Michael Portillo, claimed the matter was “a misinterpretation or misunderstanding”.For the Princess, the trip to this war-torn country was an excellent opportunity to use her popularity to show the world how much destruction and suffering landmines can cause. She said that the experience had also given her the chance to get closer to people and their problems.56. Princess Diana paid a visit to Angola in 1997 to.57. What did Diana mean when she said“…putting a face to those figures brought the reality home to me” (Para.1)?.58. Some members of the British government criticized Diana because.59. It's clear that Sotomayor has a warm relationship with her family and friends, including her beloved mother and brother. But in her rise through the legal profession, she has made a number of personal sacrifices, most notably marriage and children.67. Ms. Sotomayor's marriage to her high-school sweetheart ended after just a few years,in part, she has said, because of an excessive work schedule. "I cannot attribute that divorce to work," she told a panel on judicial life. "But certainly the fact that I was leaving my home at 7:00am and getting back at 10:00pm was not of assistance in recognising the problems developing in my marriage.""I have found it difficult to maintain a relationship while I've pursued mycareer," Ms. Sotomayor also said in a television interview.Ms. Sotomayor was subsequently engaged, but that 8-year relationship ended, too before they went to the altar. She has no children. These days, her life is "frantically busy, fulfilling and often aloof," according to the New York Times. "68. You make play dates with her months and months in advance because of her schedule," a friend of hers told the New York Times.Earlier this week, we discussed Jack Welch's views on work-life balance. 69. He argued that for women to rise to the top, they've got to make tough choices and know the consequences of each one.But such choices aren't just necessary for women, Men, too, often make hard sacrifices (failed marriages, missing their children grow up) to reach the peaks of their careers, especially in our increasingly workaholic and wired culture. As the New York Times columnist Brooks put it: "This is the story of pressures that affect men as well as women (men are just more likely to make fools of themselves in response, as the news of the last few years indicates). He adds that Ms. Sotomayor's life "overlaps with a broader class of high achievers. You don't succeed at that level without developing a single-minded(一心一意) focus, and struggling against its consequences."70.I find this all a bit depressing because it seems like those who make it to the top must be, by necessity, workaholic automatons. I wonder, is it ever possible to rise high in a profession without being an unceasing, laser-focused workaholic? Are there examples in your own workplaces of people who have managed that feat?
