Step1.warm-up:
Mr Wu invited Linda to join their school trip .During the trip ,they
took a lot of photos.Look at the photo,what can you see?
Mr Wu is happy. The two girls are happy.
The two girls are shorter than Mr Wu.
We also can say:
Mr Wu is as happy as the two girls.
The two girls are not as tall as Mr Wu.
Conclusion :We use as----as to say that people or things are the same
in some ways.
We use not as---as to say that people or things are not the same in
some ways.
Step2: Presentation
A)Use as---as to compound two sentences into a sentence.
1.David is 13 years old. Tommy is 13 years old ,too.
David is __________________Tommy.
2.David weighs 46kg. Tommy weighs 48kg.
David is __________________________Tommy (heavy).
=David is _______________________than Tommy (heavy).
3.Liu Xiang runs 13s/110m. I runs 20s/110m.
runs ______(fast) than I.
=I ____run ____________________ Liu Xiang.
Conclusion: A +“as +adj/adv +as” +B A与B表示在某些方面一样
A+ “ not as +adj/adv +as” +B 表示A在某些方面不如B

B: I’ll conti nue to present the following on the board, and ask the students to discuss the differences between the reflexive pronouns and the personal pronouns:
1). Daniel taught himself how make a home page.
==Daniel learned to make a home page.
2). Daniel taught him how to make a home page.
==He learnt how to make a home page from Daniel.
C: Pair work: Work out the rule on page 48.
D. Books open to page 49! First of all, have the students go through the pictures and the contents, and then complete this exercise. Then read it out in roles.
