Book 4 Unit5 Reading Theme Parks--Fun And More Than Fun 。
Step 1. Greetings and learning goals (1—2 min )
You are expected to
(1)learn to tell the differences between a common park and a theme park ;(2)learn some words and expressions concerning theme parks ;(3)acquire sub-skills of reading ——-predicting ,skimming ,scanning ,generalization etc ;(4)learn to create your own theme park and describe it ;(5)learn to work together with your classmates and share the information collected ;(6)learn to assess on what you have learnt and adjust your learning strategies.
Step 2. Warming up and pre-reading (5 min )
Activity 1:Brainstorming ——-name of the parks (2 min)
Activity 2:Predicting (1 min)What ’s this passage about?
Step 3. While-reading (21 min )Ac-tivity 1:Reading for structure (3min)
Activity 2:Reading for main ideas (2 min )What is each paragraph about?
Paragraph 1:Park (1 word)Paragraph 2:Theme park (2 words)Paragraph 3:Sports theme parks (3 words)Paragraph 4:History or culture theme parks (5words)Paragraph 5:Disneyland (1 word)Paragraph 6:Other theme parks (3 words)
Activity 3:Reading for detailed information
