Different people have various ambitions. Some want to be engineers or doctors in the future. Some want to be scientists or businessmen. Still some wish to be teachers or lawyers when they grow up in the days to come.
Different people choose different jobs according to their interests and ability. My ideal job is to be a teacher. There are some reasons for my choice.
First of all, a teacher’s job is very important because a teacher can provide students with knowledge. And meanwhile I can also learn a lot from students. Secondly, to be a teacher may enable me to feel always young to be with young people all the time. That will be a great pleasure. The job will allow me a lot of freedom to choose my way of teaching. I like to make students both learned and creative. I will be satisfied with the progress my students make every day, and I’ll be proud of them. In addition, I can develop my hobbies in my spare time. And I really enjoy the summer vacation and winter vacation during which I will go sightseeing.
However, it is not easy to be a qualified teacher. A good teacher needs knowledge, enthusiasm and patience. So, first of all, I must study hard to learn as much as possible. Second, I must acquire a habit of being patient. Third, I must learn some good metho ds. It doesn’t follow that a teacher with rich knowledge can make himself understood. Perhaps students may still b e puzzled when they don’t understand what he says at all. In a word, teaching is a demanding job. I will live up to the qualifications for a teacher.
Choosing a job is like anything in life. You’re more likely to succeed and get it right if you put time and effort into it. It’s an exciting opportunity for you to spend time exploring who you are, what suits you and what appeals to you. You should remember:
1. Expect to change a job several times in your working life. You may have had an after-school job and you can put its skills into other jobs.
2. Everybody is different. Don’t go into a job just because someone else enjoys it and has recommended it. Whatever career you choose is only a choice that you can make but to make an informed decision, listen to advice from your parents, teachers, friends, family and people you look up to.
3. You’re not forever locked into the choices you make now. You h ad better get some ideas on how to narrow down your choices. Find out where to get help, how you can test out your potential job choice and finally check out some great ideas on how to get started on your new way.
Then you should remember to identify your goals. A good first step in making your decision is to develop a personal profile. You can use this in the future when considering what occupations may suit you best. The best place to start is to think
about what you actually enjoy doing or what interests you most. Take a pen and some paper and answer these questions to help you develop your own personal profile:
What have been your achievements in life so far?
What makes you good at something? For example, if you enjoy maths, maybe it’s because you do well in analyzing and solving problems. If you enjoy woodwork, maybe it’s because you’re more practical.
What extra-curricular activities are you involved in? How do these reflect your skills and abilities?
At the same time think about your strengths and weaknesses. Maybe you’re really good at dealing with people, but hate having to work out the finances.
I believe that any man with knowledge can do whatever they can so long as this job can meet his or her interest. All the working position can provide him with a good chance to become a talent.
补充:成长过程中ideal job的转变
We all must experience this question--what is your ideal job? Yes, what is my ideal job? Well, I think it is a common question, however, a practical question. The reason why I said so is this question is always mentioned by us in our daily conversation. Even we were being asked to answer it when we are still kids. Do you all remember, we were required to write this kind of composition about "what is your ideal job?" or "what do you want to be in the future?" I still remembered, most of us gave the similar answers in a broader sense, let's say, "I want to be a singer, teacher, doctor, even an inventor.” what a great dream! However, when we are exposed to the vast sea of knowledge, grow up gradually and acquired the knowledge from primary school to college, meanwhile, our thought about ideal job is also changing, changing and changing all the time. Maybe, you wanted to be a teacher when you were at the time of middle school, why? Why a teacher? Personally, I think it is because the most influential person in our life circle is just our teacher. We wanted to be man like him or her at that moment. Anyway, it's great, teacher is gardener of human. But we changed again when we came into high school. We tended to be a superstar, a famous actor or painter, just like Liu Dehua or Zhao wei when we were in high school. Even we dream reaching this goal in a way of participating Super_Girl.
Now we are university students, but ideal job is still changing. I take myself for example, when I was a freshman; my ideal job is to work for an international company after graduation, even to be a successful businesswoman. But I was not sure about which field. However, when I was a sophomore, I changed this thought into
being a hotel administrator, I should say, the reason for having this idea is I was influenced by a TV series, named "Qing Chun De Tonghua". Maybe, you all will laugh at me for my flexibility. However, at least, my ideal job becomes specific and I realized which direction I should go. Fortunately, I got an opportunity to work for a hotel, which is a four star hotel, managed by a Philipine woman and most of whose guests are foreigners. I was so excited for this valuable chance at that moment, looking forward to this day coming sooner. But, when I was on this position, I found I was not suitable for this job very much; I gave up on the second day. However, I was wakeful, other than checking my weaknesses, I started to discover what the hell am I interested in. Luckily, another though dawn on me, that I tried to attend the interview of New Oriental School for a position as a part-time teacher. Luckily enough, I won five competitors in the first round, some of who are from superior colleges and one holding master degree. But I have to say, I failed in the second round. Though I failed, I learned more and enjoyed the process of interview, besides that, all the matter is that I specialized my working field again, and eliminated the thought to be a children teacher, instead of that, wishing to be a middle school or high school teacher.
But I think, we all are still young, and we have enough time to try something and explore our potential. we shouldn't have us fixed in a single field, but most of us are still confused about our ideal job; I also feel my way on what I am interested in. Under this condition, if you ask me what obstacles will be in my career, maybe I would say, the biggest obstacle in front of me now is to find my interesting, after solving this problem, I will engage in my ideal job and try my best to overcome any possible obstacle with my confidence, accumulated-experiences, independent thinking, and the constructive suggestions from my friends and family.。
