Actions speak louder than words
The picture shows that there is a classic timer called sundial in the front of the auditorium and the lawn. And it is engraved with an idiom which is “Actions speak louder than words”.
The sundial is a memorial in the campus of Tsinghua University and “Actions speak louder than words” has been inherited as the school spirit of Tsinghua University for 96 years. The idiom discusses the relationship between actions and words, and its implication is to warn us to be practical when we do things. If words can create wealth, those people who always like to talk big have became millionaires already. But practice has proved that this is impossible. Marx said that “Philosophers have always interpreted the world in different ways, yet the root of problem is how to change the world”. From a philosophical point of view, “Actions speak louder than words”emphasizes the importance of practice. Certainly this is not to show that actions can replace words. Only through clear theoretical guidance, actions will not depart from correct direction.
In my opinion, we like to say before we do. Because people always love fantasy some happy ending, and it leads to people to make all sorts of promise. No one does not like to enjoy the feeling of success. But when the promise is implemented, they will find the process is too difficult to reach the goal and usually choose to give up. For example, do you love me? It seems like the most frequent question that girl likes to ask between lovers. Mostly, the answer is yes. Then the boy will figure out all the romantic sentences he has learned to explain the degree of love. However, it must not touch wisdom girls. Those girls usually will wait and look for boys’ actions which can prove love by their eyes and hearts. Once you do, others will see the sincerity that you show and they will believe you. So the charm of actions is always greater than the charm of words. No matter what, no matter when, if we worked hard today, we would have a happy beginning tomorrow. Yep, right now, action.
