2015年高中英语口语情景对话第268集讲述获奖经历素材
第268集讲述获奖经历Ian见过爱丁堡的公爵,是什么奖能让他由此殊荣呢?Ian: Hey, Ian, have you ever met anyone famous?Todd: Anyone famous? Ah, yes, I have. I met the Duke of Edinburgh.Ian: Mm, who's that?Todd: He is the Queen's husband and I met him at Buckingham Palace.Ian: How did that happen?Todd: Well, it was because I received an award.Ian: What kind of an award?Todd: The award was called the Duke of Edinburgh Award and I completed the bronze award, the silver award, and the gold award, and if you complete all three, then you can go to Buckingham Palace and he gives you your award.Ian: The award is for what kind of job?Todd: OK, well it's for young people between the ages of, I think it's 14 to 21, but I'm not quite sure, and you have to do different challenges for each award. Now, for the gold award you had to do community service, and I visited an old man. I had to do a sport and I played badminton. You had to do an expedition, and we went hiking in the Breton Beacons in Wales for five days and you had to do a skill and I did driving and you had to do each one for a year.Ian: So what was it like getting the award?Todd: Um, it was exciting and disappointing at the same time because my friends and I, we were waiting at Buckingham Palace for quite a long time and we had all our best clothes on: our ties, our shirts, our trousers. We had very clean shoes. It was quite hot and we were waiting and we were waiting and in came the Duke of Edinburgh. and he gave us our award. He asked us maybe one question each and then he went, so we only actually met him for about five minutes.Ian: So it wasn't the most exciting time, meeting him a famous person.Todd: No, he was a very busy man, but you know, I shook his hand, and that was it, but it was nice to see Buckingham Palace and it was a good day out in London.Ian: Sounds like it.。

2015年高中英语口语情景对话第295集谈论巴黎和东京的不同素材
谈论巴黎和东京的不同Rapheal曾在巴黎求学,听他讲讲巴黎和东京具体的不同吧。
Todd: OK, Raphael, you were saying you lived in Paris.Rapheal: Yes, I made my studies there.Todd: Paris is just an amazing city. Can you talk about Paris?Rapheal:Yes! Well, the biggest difference I noticed with Tokyo is the size. Like Paris is nice in that way, you can go anywhere by walking. It might take at maximum an hour and a half if you want to go to a very far place, but basically it's a city like made for walkers and you can really go anywhere just by walking, I mean it's quite pleasant cause you can see many, you know, nice buildings and places and things, just by walking.Todd: Wow, that's nice. How many people live in Paris?Rapheal:Including the suburbs it's 8 million now. Maybe getting increasing, but the inner city is only one million, so it's not overcrowded at all. Yeah!Todd: So, what else would you say is different about Tokyo and Paris?Rapheal:Well, specially, Paris you mean? The Transport is less expensive. This is important.Todd: YeahRapheal:Yeah, Yeah.Todd: It's more expensive?Rapheal:No, it's less, sorry, it's less expensive. Anyway, the, I was surprised because Tokyo is not that expensive finally, I mean you can, you can live in a very expensive way if you want but you can save a lot as well. It's really up to you. But in Paris is quite hard to save. I mean, the food is very expensive, and if you want to go out, just, a restaurant or anything, it's really more expensive than in Japan. A restaurant for example, like prices in Japan start from a thousand yen, maybe less, like 600 yen, and in France like the cheapest restaurant you can find is 15 Euro which is around 2000 YenTodd: Whoa! That is expensive.Rapheal:Yeah, it's more expensive, wherever you go it's more expensive if you wantto go out but on the contrary the cinema is really cheap, so so many people go to the cinema, I mean, the cinema is really, it's a part of Paris nightlife, like, people used to go to cinema once a week at least, almost everyone. Yeah, cause it's really cheap. A ticket is 1000 yen, maybe less.Todd: So, what about sports, like what kind of sports do you like to do?Rapheal:Yeah, anything. Anything, yeah! You have a lot of facilities, like gymnasium, swimming pools, clubs, yeah, you can practice a lot. Especially, I was a student so, I had this very easy student life because France has a lot of students, whatever it is, so they give you a bit of money, and you get discount on almost anything, so sport is specially favorized in Paris when you are a student, you canalmost like do whatever you want, as a sport almost free, sometimes, so, it's, you can do a lot of things. Actually, I did Aikido. I did swimming pool, squash, tennis, yeah, uh, basketball, yeah, a lot of things actually.Todd: Active guy. And what about the traffic if you want to drive in Paris?Rapheal:I never tested, because as I told you it's so nice to just walk, that, and I didn't own a car but it's quite tough for people living in the suburbs cause they need a car to come, the train system is not really good. It's not like, there's a lot of delay, trains and things like that, so if you live in the suburbs you need a car, and driving through Paris in the mornings or evening is really difficult, so I just didn't want to test, you know.。
2015年高中英语口语情景对话第316集介绍舞台设计专业素材
介绍舞台设计专业Raphael的专业是舞台设计,但是这种工作复杂回报低所以已经式微,听他具体介绍下吧。
Todd: So, Jose, can you talk about the food in Ecuador?Jose: Yes, I was saying that the Andes is where potatoes and corn and many other kinds of food come, I mean, potatoes for example, that was so important for Europe, during the famine in Europe. (Yeah) so in that sense..Todd: Wait, potatoes come from Ecuador?Jose: Of course!Todd: They do!Jose: Yes, we have more than 300 different kinds of potatoes.Todd: No kidding! Wow!Jose: Yes, yes, yes! Potatoes and also corn from the Andes (Wow!) Yes. Didn't you know?Todd: No, no! That's embarrassing.Jose: And do you know, of course for us, potatoes and corn and also rice. It's one of the main dishes, I think, or pork also, and we use lots of pecante sauce, chili sauce. Ah, corn is great. Corn with fresh cheese.Todd: Corn with cheese?Jose: Yes, yes, yes, yes!Todd: How do you make it?Jose: Just you take the corn when it's fresh and boil it and you just put it with out anything, no salt, no butter, no anything, and fresh cheese.Todd: No kidding, so you melt the cheese on the corn?Jose: No, no, no, no!Todd: So the cheese is hard?Jose: It is fresh cheese.Todd: Oh, I don't understand.Jose: Fresh cheese! Do you, you have different kinds of cheese. (Yeah) You have this kind of fresh cheese. You have basically no salt, and it just made. Usually the cheese you have to mature the cheese.Todd: Oh, I got you! So it's more liquid?Jose: No, no, it's just called fresh cheese.Todd: OK, well, I have to try it.Jose: Yes, of course.Todd: Wow! That sounds good. And can you get Japanese food in Ecuador?Jose: Yeah, it's very expensive. You can do it because of course we have the Pacific coast, we have very good, what can I say, fish, and actually Japanese fisherman, they go to the Galapagos area and they pay certain fees. I don't know when, what they pay, and they catch all the tuna they want, so we have good, very good tuna, yeah, and many different kinds of fish so you can have sashimi and sushi and in Quito you have maybe two or three different Japanese restaurants. All of them very upscale at least.。
2015年高中英语口语情景对话第325集介绍漫画素材
介绍漫画学习情景口语顺便一起了解下喜欢看漫画的人一定很了解的日本漫画。
Todd: Ah, Kawabe, (Yes, Sir) You are Japanese, so can you explain manga? And what is Manga? And why is it so popular?Kawabe: OK, it's a diff...it's easy, but difficult question. (Yeah). OK, manga is the, is the drawing with the story.Todd: Uh-huh! So like a comic book, but not really a comic book.Kawabe: Mm, that, many kinds of manga, so basically it's the picture which is drawn by someone, and then you read it, and which has a story, it's a comic. Mm, it's a comic, and then,Todd: So there's manga about many things.Kawabe: About many things yes!Todd: For example, what topics or what themes might there be manga about?Kawabe: It depends, it depends. There are thousands of you know, stories and if it's about the animal, like a, it can be anything.Todd: Really! (Yeah) Like for example, baseball or?Kawabe: Yeah! Baseball stories. A kid's stories, American football story, Shakespeare's manga.Todd: Shakespeare manga!Kawabe: Yeah, you don't have to read! (Really) Yeah, of course. And then, what else? Everything, you can.Todd: Ramen manga?Kawabe: Ramen manga! There is. Seriously! Ramen manga! Salaryman manga. School teacher manga, and any kind of home drama, or the stories of novel can be manga. Manga script. So, it's, OK, imagine the movie. Yeah! You can make up everything. Troy! Old ancient greek stories! Or the like the, the future stories, like, and the, you know, whatever it is. You know. You just make it up,and write it or draw it.Todd: Why do you think manga is so popular?Kawabe: Because, it's like the hollywood movie, in the states the hollywood movie is so popular, because it's the field you can express your imagination, where you can play with your imagination, and how do you say?Todd: Like it's not real.Kawabe: Yeah, it's not real.Todd: Escape reality.Kawabe: Uh-huh, it's the, like a neverland.Todd: Fantasy!Kawabe: Fantasy! So, in Japan it's the manga instead of hollywood movies, I think.Todd: That's really interesting. So do you still read manga?Kawabe: I used to read a lot, read a lot, but now I don't read much as I was reading, OK, for example, how much do I read? Like one story in three months.Todd: You mean one manga story in three months. Oh! so you still read manga sometimes?Kawabe: Sometimes! Like sometimes my friend recommended, or sometimes I saw a good review on the magazine. Yeah, I pick up some and I read them when I got time, but not very much recently.。
高中英语 Unit 5 Inside advertising(情景对话)The Fu
2014-2015学年高中英语 Unit 5 Inside advertising(情景对话)The Function of Advertisement素材新人教版选修9Robert: We're having a debate on advertising tomorrow and I have to take part. Mr.Lee: That's interesting. I should like to hear what young people think about advertising.Robert: Well, we wouldn't know what there was to buy if we didn't have advertisements.Mr.Lee: Yes, that's true-up to a point. Advertisements provide information that we need. If someone has produced a new article, naturally the seller wants t o tell us about it.Robert: Yes, and advertisements tell us which product is the be st.Mr.Lee: Do they? I don't think so. Every manufacturer says that his product is the best, or at least tries to give that impression. Only one can be the best, so the others are misleading us, aren't they?Robert: Well, in a way, I suppose, but we don't have to believe them, do we? Mr.Lee: Are you saying that advertisements aren't effective? I don't think that intellige nt businessmen w ould spend millions of dollars on advertising if nobody believed the advertisements, do yo u?Robe rt: Perhaps not, but after all, it' s their money that they're spending. Mr.Lee: Is it? I think not. The cost of advertising is added to the price of the article. You and I and all the other people who buy the article pay for the advertising!Robert: Well, I sup pose we get something for our money -- some information. Mr.Lee: Yes, but don't forget it's often misle ading information, and sometimes harmful.1。

2015年高中英语口语情景对话第318集介绍动画设计素材
介绍动画设计ELi是一名动画设计师,听他讲讲这个专业以及动画创作界这些年的变化吧。
Todd: Eli, could you talk a little bit about what you study to be an animator and how the industry has changed over the years?Eli: Yeah, well, I actually studied, the degree I did was a graphic design course, which taught you art, every aspect of graphic design but they looked at graphic design as actually communication design which is basically just trying to get a message across a certain way thought the use of graphics, you know graphical methods, so I mean, that doesn't necessarily mean just you know text, words, on a screen, you know, words on a poster. I mean, people's people's views of graphic design is usually like posters, advertising, um, adverts in magazines but we were sort of made to think that that is just a tiny bit of graphic design, I mean you can communicate message, through any medium, you know even sort of acting, and stuff like that, they were, it was really that broad so, obviously with my love of anime I chose animation, I mean, it's something I've been interested in for a long time and I do 3D computer animation kind of like "Toy Story" but obviously not as good. I was actually the only person on my course doing that, so it was quite a challenge. I had an amazing animation tutor, who had got some pretty amazing portfolio behind him, to help me out, and if it wasn't for him, I probably would have torn my hair out years ago and maybe even quit the course cause I, there was a big, dispute with sort of my view of computer animation, what I was interested in with the graphic design tutor's views, they were all about deep meaning and you know, messages behind work and I was actually about learning how to animate well, you know the techniques of animation. I mean it's always very important to have the background skills of ideas because you can be technically good at something, you can be able to use a computer program brilliantly, but if you don't have the sort of ideas or background then you're never going to be able to make a good piece. I mean, I've heard that Pixar, the company who make "Toy Story" actually hire actors instead of animators to do their animating. They hire them for their acting skills and then they teach them how to use the software afterwards, cause actually, that's what it's about, it's making characters act, it's whatever it is, whether it's a coke can or a book, if you want to give that a personality, you got to think about how you're gonna give this inanimate object a personality, how are you going to make it looked scared, how are you going to make it look happy, um, that's what I was interested in, sort of techniques of learning how to do that, so, yeah, it was a struggle but it was definitely worth it in the end, and I think I'll go on to have a good career.。
高中英语口语情景对话 第303集 讨论特长素材
讨论特长Adrienne不知道自己擅长什么,但是实际上他会些唱歌也会拉小提琴,音乐方面还是不错的。
Todd: OK, Adrienne, let's talk about abilities. What are you good at?Adrienne: Um, I don't know.Todd: You don't know?Adrienne: I really don't know!Todd: Well, I was looking at your photos, and you can play the violin.Adrienne: That's true!Todd: And you can sing very well.Adrienne: Ah, I can sing some.Todd: OK, so, tell us about playing the violin.Adrienne: I really enjoy playing the violin. I've been playing for many, many years since I was a little girl and everyone in my family plays an instrument so it's part of what we do together as a family.Todd: So when you were little you practiced every day?Adrienne: I did. My mom made me. I didn't have a choice. It's good for discipline though, or at least that's what she told me.Todd: So, how would you practice? Did you have a tutor come over to your house?Adrienne: No, I had a violin teacher once a week and when I was really small I went to group lessons also, so it was once a week with a private and once a week with a group.Todd: Wow! That's a lot. What did you think about the violin when you were little?Adrienne: I don't remember thinking about it. I don't even remember learning how to play. I was only two so (so young) I know. I was still in diapers, but my mom said that when I had my first recital that I really wanted to play in the recital and she said I absolutely could not play on stage in a diaper so that's basically how she got me out of my diapers. So she says!Todd: When did you stop playing?Adrienne: I haven't stopped.Todd: Oh, you still practice.Adrienne: I still play although I don't have my violin here in Japan, right now. I'm kind of on a break I guess. I just don't like to carry it around overseas.Todd: Is it hard to be away from your violin?Adrienne: It is sometimes. I miss it. I miss playing with my family too, cause we're kind of like the Van Trap family, which you know from the movie The Sound of Music.Todd: No, no, I don't. I've never seen the movie.Adrienne: Oh, you haven't? The Sound of Music is about a family in, I think it's Austria and they all play an instrument or sing and it's a World War II movie and that's how they escape the Nazis, from singing or something. It's kind of like that, except for without the war.Todd: Well, I have to see the movie so!Adrienne: Yeah, you should.Todd: So are you going to play the violin for me sometime?Adrienne: Sure! If you can find a violin I will.。
