Reporters met him at every port of call, anxious to print a new quip from the famous humorist. To enhance his image, he took to wearing white suits and loved to stroll down the street and see people staring at him.

his real name is Samuel Clemens,when he was a sailor,his dudy was to mark the water and he would say "(water) mark two" to warn his shipmates that they were close to shallow water

Samuel Clemens was born in 1835 in Florida,Missouri.He was his parent's sixth child in his family and he had 6 siblings but unfortunately,there were just 2 of them surviving from their childhood.His mother died when he was 4 .At that time,the family moved to Hannibal where he got inspiration of writing.At his age of 11,his father died and 2 years later,he left school and became an apprentice to a printer

His Death
Mark Twain died of illness on April 21, 1910. When he passed away, newspapers around the country declared, “The whole world is mourning.” By then, Sam Clemens had long since ceased to be a private citizen. He had become Mark Twain, a proud possession of the American nation.
