What is a paragraph? A paragraph can be described as a group or related sentences that begin a new line with an indented first word. In a well-written paragraph, sentences are related to each other because they all pertain(关于,适合 to the same 关于, 关于 适合) general topic. The author wants you to know something important about that topic. This important information about the topic is the paragraph’s main idea or main point, central idea, gist(要点, 主旨), and thesis, all of which ( are synonymous(同义的) with main idea. ( )
