On a bright, warm July afternoon, Mac Hollan, a primary school teacher, was cycling from his home to Alaska with his friends. One of his friends had stopped to make a bicycle repair, but they had encouraged Mac to carry on, and they would catch up with him soon. As Mac pedaled(骑行)along alone, he thought fondly of his wife and two young daughters at home. He hoped to show them this beautiful place someday.
Then Mac heard quick and loud breathing behind him. “Man, that’s a big dog!” he thought. But when he looked to the side, he saw instantly that it was not a dog at all, but a wolf, quickly catching up with him.
Mac’s heart jumped. He found out his can of bear spray. With one hand on the bars, he fired the spray at the wolf. A bright red cloud enveloped the animal, and to Mac’s relief, it fell back, shaking its head. But a minute later, it was by his side again. Then it attacked the back of Mac’s bike, tearing open his tent bag. He fired at the wolf a second time, and again, it fell back only to quickly restart the chase.
Mac was pedaling hard now. He waved and yelled at passing cars but was careful not to slow down. He saw a steep uphill climb before him. He knew that once he hit the hill, he’d be easy caught up and the wolf’s t eeth would be tearing into his flesh. At this moment, Paul and Becky were driving their car on their way to Alaska. They did not think much of it when they saw two cyclists repairing their bike on the side of the road. A bit later, they spotted what they, too, assumed was a dog running alongside a man on a bike. As they got closer, they realized that the dog was a wolf. Mac heard a large vehicle behind him. He pulled in front of it as the wolf was catching up fast, just a dozen yards away now.

Possible version two:
The car abruptly stopped in front of him. Mac crashed into the car with a loud bang. As a result, he fell off the bicycle and had his left ankle twisted. Hardly had Mac stood up when the wolf arrived and was about to launch another attack. Mac was going to die when suddenly the wolf was hit right on the head by a piece of rock. The wolf fell back, howling with pain. It was Paul who did this. Becky helped Mac climb into the car, while Paul kept shouting and throwing stones at the wolf.
A few minutes later, the other two cyclists arrived. They were shocked at what they saw and joined Paul. One of Mac's friends picked out some raw meat and threw it to the wolf. Satisfied with what he got, the wolf ran into the woods. Mac thanked Paul and Becky, “How grateful I am that you stopped to save me and I owe it to you that I’m still alive.” As Mac got injured, the three men had to give up the rest of their journey and returned home.
The car abruptly stopped in front of him. Almost knocked down by the car, Mac pedaled quickly aside and jumped off his bicycle, wondering whose car it was and why it stopped at a steep uphill climb. Just at that moment, out of the car came two men with something held in their hands, shouting, “Hi, man! I am Paul and he is Becky. Here we are to help you. We
don't want you to be his dinner. ” Having said that, they threw something like tools at the wolf, hoping to frighten him away. “ Thank you, my friends! You've come at a good time! You are my saviors! ” So moved was Mac that he didn't know what to say. However, the fierce wolf jumped back and forth and wouldn’t go away from them as if Mac had owed him something and he came to ask for it, ignoring whatever they did to him.
A few minutes later, the other two cyclists arrived. Seeing the dangerous situation, at once they went into action and struggled against the wolf. All of them joined hands and stood facing the wolf shoulder by shoulder like a protective wall, glaring at and shouting at the wolf, “ Fuck off, you beast! Go where you came! Don't eat us!” It was what they shouted at the wolf that suddenly reminded Mac that the wolf must be too hungry to leave. “Throw something for him to eat. Look at his dark-blue eyes! He must be hungry for a couple of days. ” sa id Mac sympathetically. Everything eatable went to the wolf: bread, ham, sausage, canned beef, boiled egg, bacon, pancakes, cream chocolates, candies, sweets and fruit. Having eaten the delicious food / With the delicious food eaten, the wolf looked up at us and gave a satisfied cry, “Thank you, wise gentlemen! You should have known why I came to you human beings! Please stay. I’ll go home now!” (Williamsir 303 words)
