Should college students hire cleaners?
When it comes to whether college students should hire cleaners to help do laundry and cleaning or not, different people hold different views. Some believe that it is a bargain to get more convenience for less money. But most consider it harmful to the comprehensive development of college students. I do agree with the latter.
To start withthey survive properly in the society? Hardly have they known how to earn money, when they begin to know it is extremely wrong to hire cleaners to do the laundry and cleaning. It is not the money itself but the idea that matters. This phenomenon is not a good atmosphere, because university is a place where the students should be cultivated comprehensively. Besides, promote rather than abandon such virtue. Finallyin their whole life.
To sum up, college students should not hire cleaners for any reason. Do it yourself. It costs no money. It costs little time which you may spend on game or shopping.

More Pressure From Academic Studies Does No Good to Us
It is believed one of the main problems with today's education is that too much emphasis is placed on test scores. It has become the most important criterion for college eollment. A student, however creative and intelligent, will not be admitted into a college, for assignment or in employment competitions if his/her test scores are not high enough. Therefore, students are faced with more and more pressure from academic studies. In my opinion, this is harmful for students' overall development.
First, the competition for high scores among students becomes intense. Students find themselves concentrating more on strategies to achieve high scores than on acquiring the knowledge. They will play truant of some subsidiary courses, skip over the substance which will not be tested on. Second, teachers are apt to give their students high scores. As their job is judged mainly by students' performance in terms of scores, some teachers tend to set easy papers to test their students on or narrow down the scope of the exam, even give them the hints to exams, or favor their students with high scores.
In fact, times are different. The criteria for good college students are changing now. It is tree that good marks continue to be some students' dream, yet there are a growing number of students who are concerned much more about things other than academic achievement. Job market demands personnel with both intelligent and non-intelligent qualities. Therefore, students today should be better prepared for challenges and competition upon graduation.

One Way to Solve the Problem
Too many vehicles, such as cars, tracks, motorcycles, have created a lot of serious problems in our world. Besides congestion, accidents and fast fuel consumption, they are responsible for a good part of air pollution in big dries. All the time, the vehicles are pumping huge amounts of waste gases into the atmosphere. These gases are harmful, causing disease and even death.
One possible solution that may reduce air pollution created by so many vehicles is to develop modem public transportation systems and restrict the use of private cars. If the price of petrol rises constantly and the public vehicles are efficient and convenient enough, most people will not have private cars. And the total number of cars in big cities will reduce greatly. People would find more room to walk, to jog, to perform what they used to do in the open air. Moreover, dirt, noise exhaust, parked cars, and smog would decrease greatly.
There is no inherent incompatibility between man in an urban setting and the automobile. But we don't want cars to seize our living space. We take for granted that everyone could enjoy the pleasure of stretching his legs freely, breathing and sniffing the air cheerfully. On the whole, the elimination of air pollution needs the
co-efforts from the government, the public and the environments.
