As is apparently revealed in the pie charts above, forty-eight percent ofpeople surveyed have never heard of the International No Motor Vehicle Day whilefifty-seven percent are willing to give up driving on such a day. What isbetrayed in the pie charts is most thought-provoking.

The implied meaning of the pie charts is both disappointing and exciting.On the one hand, much necessary work still needs to be done with respect toenvironmental protection. The public ignorance of relevant environmentalprotection results from inadequate and limited popularity of environmentalprotection knowledge by relevant government departments at different levels.Since environmental protection is an international issue, we must constantlyintroduce the advanced and practical practice in other countries to our generalpublic.

Only in this way can we promote environmental protection in China. Onthe other hand, the enhancement of the public awareness of environmentalprotection is a welcome development. Over the past years, a s people’s livingstandard improves, people attach more importance to the quality of their life.They have a better understanding of the relationship between environment andtheir daily life. As a result, they are more interested in following positiveinternational models. In sum, we have got a mixed feeling toward the very factrevealed in the pie charts.

In my view, necessary measures should be immediately taken to ensure a niceenvironment. First of all, government departments at all levels must play a moreactive role in popularizing international experience and practice ofenvironmental protection. What’s more, the general public should be encouragedto participate more actively in environmental protection. Only in this way canwe live in a healthy and harmonious environment. (278 words)

the customer asked the owner，“how e this guy is $5，000 that is soexpensive for this kindof parrot。”

the owner said，“because i have trained himand he can talk。”

so the customer asked him，“how about this guy

what can he dothat makes him so expensive” the owner said，“well，apart from talking，he canalso do some amusing actions，like dancing and so on。

that is why he is soexpensive。” then the customer said，“how about the third one what canhe do thatmakes him so expensive”

the owner of the shopsaid，“i dont know。 normally，ihave never heard him talk，nor dance，nor whistle，nor sing，nothing at all! butthe other two call him the boss。”
