Step 1 Lead in
I first introduce myself to the class.
T: Good morning, boys and girls. I am your new English teacher. My family name is Shen, so you can call me…(let students answer it, and distinguish Mr./Mrs./Miss/Ms.)
What’s the e-dog’s name?
Who’s his master?
3.The Ss look at the comic strip and read after the tape.
Then read it in roles of Eddie and Hobo.
4.Act out the dialogue . Encourage Ss to add their own words.
Say: I have a pet dog . Ilook afterit every day. So I am itsmaster.
(Write the underlined words on the Bb and read them.)
2. Play the tape and ask two questions:
1. T: What do you say when you meet a friend at 7:15 a.m./ 2:45 p.m. /suppertime?
(Good morning / Good afternoon / Good evening )
2. T: What do you say when you meet a friend for the first time?
(Hi/Hello/…What’s your name? / Nice to meet you / How are you /…)
Then let Ss greet in pairs .
Step 5Presentation(comic strip)
1. Show two pictures and say: Today, let’s meet two new friends, Hobo and Eddie. Point at Eddie and say: “It’s a dog.” Then point Hobo and say: “It’s ane-dog.”
2.Let Ss greet in pairs like this :
A: Good morning / Hello/ Hi. My name is…/ I’m…What’s your name?
B: Good morning/ Hello/ Hi . I’m…/ My name is…
Step 4 Presentation
S:My name is…/ I’m…(ask several students)
2.T: Are you A? S: No, I’m B.
T: Good morning, B. S: Good morning, Miss Qiu.
Step 3 Practice
1.Read the six students’ introduction in part A on P7 together.
