Lesson 37 Don't Fight!
Ⅰ.教学目标
(一)知识目标
(1) 掌握文中单词及短语: victory, beat, repair, service, message, check, secretary, separate, gentleman, be out of service, text message and me neither。
(2)能够掌握连词but和so的用法。
(二) 过程与方法:通过中心话题“不要吵架”,来加深学生对和平的理解。
(三)情感态度价值观
Let the students know the importance of peace。
(四)能够进一步在语境中运用所学的单词、词组和句型,提高学生应用英语的意识和能力。
Ⅱ.教学内容
1.掌握词汇:beat, repair, service, message, secretary, separate, gentleman接触词汇:bounce, ouch, behave。
2.短语:
(1)be out of service 不在服务区
(2)text message 短信
(3)me neither 我也不;彼此彼此
3. 学习并列连词and和so的用法。

多媒体,黑板。
Ⅴ.教学过程
Step1. Come to “THINK ABOUT IT”.
Divide the class into groups of six or seven. Discuss the following questions:
1. Have you ever missed a big event like a basketball game, a concert or a movie? Why did you miss it?
2. When there is a dispute, how do you deal with it?
3. Give the students five minutes to finish the task. Pay attention to all the students' feelings. Let all of them take part in the discussion.
Step2. Listen to the tape and fill in the blanks with the words you hear:
1. Jenny, Brian and Danny are talking about the _______________.
2. Steven throws his ball ____________. It bounces and hits Danny’s head.
Step3. Read the text and answer the following questions:
1. Did Steven come to the basketball game?
2. How did Danny try to reach Steven?
3. Why did Danny get so angry with Steven?
Step4. Read the text and tell the main idea of the text in the students' own words.
Let the students speak in front of the class. Encourage them not to be shy when they stand there. Give the students chances to speak loudly in front of the class.
Step5. Encourage the students to ask more questions about this part.
Divide the class into groups of six or seven to finish the task. Ask all of the students to take part in the discussion.
They can ask questions like this:
S1: When you are Jenny, what should you do to stop the fight?
S2: Do you think that Danny should be angry with Steven?
S3: Do you think that Steven should blame Danny?
Step6. Presentation
Divide the class into groups of three or four, talk about what Danny should do. Everyone writes his or her opinion on a piece of paper. Everyone must write his or her reasons down. Choose the best from their opinions. Then report it to the class.
Step7. Homework
1. Finish off the exercise 2 in the textbook on page 99.
2. Go on the next reading in the student book.
Ⅵ.总结
Activities are the main style of the class. The students learn their knowledge in the games and role-plays. It's a good way to make the English class interesting. Always remember to improve the students' cooperation spirit. Let everyone in the group to have the chance to speak. This is very important for the English teaching.。
