Sun Yang is only 24 years old, but he is the latest swimming star in China! At the 2021 FTNA World Championships (国际泳联世锦赛) in Shanghai, he won the gold medal in the men's 1500-meter freestyle and broke the world record. At the 2021 London Olympic Games Sun collected two gold medals, one silver, one bronze plus a world record in London.
After winning the 1,500-meter freestyle, Sun Yang said, "You don't understand how much I wanted this gold medal, really, really wanted it, and now I made it. I have fulfilled all my goals in the London Olympic Games."
Sun was born in Zhejiang, China. His parents used to be volleyball players. When he was in kindergarten, Sun was a very tall boy. A swimming coach found him and started to teach him to swim. Soon Sun showed his swimming talent. Now, he is one of the best swimmers in the world.
We believe Sun Yang can do better in the coming days.
