一、“主语+seem+表语”，表语多为形容词，有时是其它的词或 短语，以说明主语的特征或状态。如：
He seems (to be) quite happy. This seems (to be ) an important point.（如果名词之前 没有形容词，to be不可省去。） You don't seem (to be)quite yourself today. Books seem to me like old friends. 二、“主语+seem+不定式”，此句型中的seem与不定式一起构成 复合谓语形式。

三、“It seems+that从句”，无人称代词it是形式主语，that引 导主语从句。

There’s a world of difference between promise and achievement.在承诺和履行诺言 之间往往相差甚远。
句中第二个a world是同位语,可用代词one代 替.又如: He is a simple man, a man(=one)who always cares for others. 他是一个朴素的人,一个总是关心别人的人。

treat sb. well/badly对某人态度不好/不好.如:

四、“It seems+as if 从句”， as if引导的从句系表语从句， 有时从句的谓语动词用虚拟形式。如：
It seems as if he knew nothing about her. “It seems as if…”，亦可说成“It looks as if…”。如： It looked/seemed as if he would have nothing to take home to his wife and children. 五、“There seem to be+名词”， seem to be(to be有 时省略)表示“存在”的观念。应注意，其中seem的单复数形式要 根据后面作主语用的名词单复数形式而定。如：

Let’s give Mr. Jackson a warm welcome. 3) sb. be welcome to sth./ to do sth.

表示”一套”的单数意义时，谓语动词使用单数形式， 即使当series紧接着of和复数名词也是如此. A new series of ethnic music is to be published next year. 明年将出版一套有关（少数）民族音乐的丛书。
