[Class 141] The breast pockets of a brassiere are each cut to such a pattern, shown in Fig. 1, that the upper edge B<1> is parallel to one straight F<1> of the fabric, and that two darts, cut in approximately perpendicular directions, have each one edge, P<1> and P<2>, parallel to a straight, F<1> and F<2> respectively, of the fabric. When the edges of the darts have been sewn together as in the completed garment, one dart is directed from substantially the centre of the breast pocket towards the lower edge thereof, whilst the other dart is directed from substantially the centre towards the outer side edge of the pocket to which the side strap D of the brassiere is attached. The middle seam connecting the edges B<2> of both pockets is gathered as at F, and its lower part is concealed by a strip P.
