Statement of design task of Qingyuan Campus’s conceptual layout

I.Project background

Approved by Qingyuan Government, Guangzhou Lingnan Education Group had purchased 800 MU in Qingyuan University town to develop a new campus called Qingyuan campus. It’s a new project that will start the Professional Education and training. The construction is expected finish within 3 years. In 2012, this campus start to enroll students, and the student number could reach to 10,000 within 5 years. This campus is located in culture and education industry zone, Dongcheng Street, east part of Qingcheng district, next to Qingyuan Jinggu science city. Qingyuan city will offer well supporting facilities to this zone.

II.Campus orientation

1.Guangdong Lingnan Institute of Technology: comprehensive professional education

school. The goal is become comprehensive professional education school with bachelor degrees after 2013.

2.Campus orientation: relate to Guangzhou campus. It will have professional education as

the beginning, and become an undergraduate school with the main campus. Main course in this campus: Electronic Information, Health and Pharmacy, Business Management, Foreign Language and tourism, Art and Design, Modern Agriculture, Modern environmental protection.

3.Plan to build the ecological campus with Lingnan’s characteristics, or the other concept.

III.Campus function.

The campus is an ecological campus with Lingnan characteristics. Teaching is the main function of the campus, combine with education, culture and health, including longevity preservation and tourist function, and become a school has production, knowledge and research (called 3 in 1). The campus shall serve the local education and economy development.

IV.Student in school number

Full-time students number reach to 10,000 in Qingyuan campus.

V. Planning Area of Qingyuan campus

1.The planning area is 533,600 square meter (800 mu), including teaching area about 500 mu, and 300 mu for the 3 in 1 area.

2. Campus building design overall performance (According to “higher education building design planning area”)

(1). Teaching building (classroom, ect), training building, office building (for departments)

(22100+57400+12100=91600 square meters), no elevators in teaching building.

(2) Office building (for school), library (83000+20300=28600 square meters), office building and library can install elevators.

(3) Students’dormitory (separate the boys and girls), students’canteen (65000+13000=78000 square meters)

(4) Teaching staff’s canteen and dormitory (2300 square meters and 100 set of apartments * 15 square meters= 3800 square meters.

(5) Multifunctional stadium (also use as auditorium and art & sport center) (3600 square meters with 1800 chairs)

(6) Indoor sport ground (3800 square meters)

(7) Outdoor sport ground (20 basketball field and tennis court), (420 square meters * 20 =8400 square meters), one standard outdoor swimming poor (1250 square meters).

(8) Underground parking area (under the main building’s grond)

Rest of land will be used as reserved area. Plan to build the 3 in 1 function area, total area is about 130,900 square meters, including:

(1) Health and pharmacy research center (consist of “the aged enjoy the retire life” and “keep

in good health” base and recovery hospital)

(2) Cultural and creative industry 3 in 1 base (including creative factory or master’s studio,

Lingnan folk arts center, Lingnan culture Expo Park or Lingnan academy of classical learning)

(3). Lingnan Cultural Communication Center (including hotel and international conference

center etc.)

(4). Teachers apartments (100sets of apartments: marked 40 square meters with one living

room and one bedroom; 100sets of apartments: marked 70 square meters with one living room and two bedrooms, 11 thousands square meters in total.)

(5). Reserved estate for affiliated primary school (30 acreages，20 thousands square meters).

3. Other relevant illustration

(1) Teaching buildings, laboratory buildings and college office buildings can be either constructed as a whole group of buildings in the same district or constructed separately into different districts.
