The crisp morning air caressed my face as I stepped out of the cabin, the soft crunch of gravel beneath my feet the only sound breaking the tranquil silence. A sense of eager anticipation stirred within me as I gazed up at the still-dark sky, the promise of a new day just beginning to take shape. Pulling my jacket tighter, I set off on the trail, my steps quickening with each passing moment. As I ascended the winding path, the world around me gradually came to life. The once-black silhouettes of the towering pines slowly materialized, their branches reaching up towards the heavens. A chorus of birdsong filled the air, their melodic trills and chirrups a soothing symphony to my ears. With each step, the landscape transformed, revealing the beauty that had been cloaked in the veil of night. The incline grew steeper, my breath coming in short, rapid bursts, but the promise of the impending sunrise spurred me onward. I could feel the anticipation building within me, a sense of excitement and wonder that seemed to permeate the very air I breathed. Theworld was on the cusp of a new day, and I was privileged to witness its awakening. Finally, I reached the summit, the panoramic view stretching out before me in all its glory. The horizon was ablaze with a fiery display of reds and oranges, the sky a canvas of ever-changing hues. I stood in awe, my gaze fixed on the spectacle unfolding before me, the cares and worries of the world below fading away into insignificance. As the sun slowly crept above the distant mountains, its golden rays painting the landscape in a warm, radiant glow, I felt a sense of peace and serenity wash over me. The world seemed to hold its breath, as if in reverence of this daily miracle. Time seemed to stand still, and for a fleeting moment, I felt truly connected to the natural world, a part of something greater than myself. The changing light played across the rugged terrain, casting long shadows and highlighting the intricate details of the landscape. I watched in rapt fascination as the world around me came to life, the once-dormant trees and shrubs now bustling with activity as the animals awoke to greet the new day.As the sun continued its ascent, the sky transformed from a deep, inky blue to a brilliant tapestry of azure and wispy clouds. The air grew warmer, the chill of the early morning giving way to the gentlecaress of the sun's rays. I took a deep breath, filling my lungs with the crisp, rejuvenating air, and felt a sense of contentment wash over me.In that moment, all the stresses and worries of daily life seemed to melt away, replaced by a profound sense of peace and tranquility. The world had been reborn, and I had been fortunate enough to witness its transformation. It was a humbling experience, a reminder of the beauty and wonder that surrounds us, if only we take the time to pause and appreciate it.As I began my descent, my steps a little lighter and my mind a little clearer, I couldn't help but feel a sense of gratitude for the opportunity to witness such a breathtaking display. The memory of the sunrise would stay with me, a testament to the power and beauty of the natural world, and a reminder to savor the small moments that so often go unnoticed in the hustle and bustle of everyday life.In the end, the experience of waking up early to hike and watch the sunrise was not just about the physical journey, but also a journey of the mind and spirit. It was a chance to connect with the world around me, to find solace in the beauty of nature, and to rediscover the simple joys that can so easily be overlooked. As I made my way back down the trail, I knew that this was a moment I would cherishfor years to come, a testament to the transformative power of the great outdoors.。

before sunrise

before sunrise

Before Sunrise,is really before sunrise. In my opinion , the Three Unities of Action,Time and Place that we are using now is not as complex as it was in the ancient time when it was been ruled with far more details. partly because hundreds of years ago, people had to see it in the real stage which was cutted into several scenes and to wait when there is a need to change the scene.and now, we don’t need that bother, mostly we see movies. And when the Three Unities of Action,Time and Place are being used to be compatible with the morden big screen and movie, we probably just use the very inside of spirit :donot waste time to prolong it,make every dialogue useful and meaningful, every scene is not only acting for now,it’s also a protasis for next one,and ACTION is the most important one,as for PLACE and TIME which is determined and limited by ACTION ,it is better if genius director contrived to make them in one day and one place . Then BEFORE SUNRISE(a small love story between J and C in Vienna within 24 probably even 12 hs) is exactly the exact example in compatible with the Three Unities of Action,Time and Place. (To make my writing easier ,I departed the movie into 3 scenes according to the deeper and deeper connection they feel for each other.)Scene 1 meeting on the train : it spended about 16 mins on the train, and during the time ,the director hadn’t wasted even one second:loud couple gave J and C a chance to begin talking, even that couple was one of their first topics, then there was a little longe first talking between two total strangers, which was just a chat with no specific theme.but that small chat actually helped a lot:they began to know each other,be interested in each other and feel connection for each other, and it seemed to be a fluent result that C interrupted herself’s travel and received J’s idea of getting off the train with him.Getting off the train with a strange man? That’s exciting! So what will happen later? Just as the text says:”by serving as preparation keep the spectator in a pleasant suspense.”Scene 2: the first kiss…I put the next 16 mins into this section.it’s a way to the big Ferris Wheel, and also,to J and C’s first kiss. I think the most subtle part in this section is their talking with that two native men. I’ve got two reasons, firstly, that talking tell us their next travel line that from the bridge to the big Ferris Wheel ,it actually play a part as “narration”. Imagine that if we were natives, we could probably be familiar with what kind of views they would see later, the CD shop, the garden ,crossing the river ,then the big Ferris Wheel. These places are like some points and join these together,we could draw a line to destination. Secondly, it also gave that two new friends enough talking to make sure wether what they feel for each other is true, and thanks for these 16 mins, the connection between them was getting clearer and deeper. Just as the text said”there is a great fifference between events which succeed each other and those which occur because of others.”their discuss about love on the bus, that emotional song in the CD booth, the sharing opinion of death and life…such littlebut inevitable things made two strangers hours ago start to feel and care for each other,so that clumsy kiss on the big Ferris Wheel was not by chance.Scene 3 vienna getting dark. I put the left plot in this scene. The darking day which was closely resemble reality according to their schedule was compatible with the Unity of Time. Behind the dark is sunrise, they may wouldn’t see each other again, but at the same time, the connection between them was getting deeper and deeper. So it’s time to think about “and then?”. I picked a small plot which I think is crucial to the development of the movie and J and C. it is the talking when they sat on something like a wood box after they’ve watched birth dance , if the feeling between them was emotional before, I think after that the feeling was something about heart. Let’s see what they’ve said :(J)…about being a good father and a good husband, But then other times…it seems silly like it would ruin my whole life .It's just that, if I'm totally honest with myself…I think I'd rather die knowing…that I was really good at something That I had excelled in some way…than that I'd just been in… …a nice, caring relationship(C)I had worked for this older man, and once he told me…that he had spent all of his life thinking about his career He was 52, and it suddenly struck him…that he had never really given anything of himself .His life was for no one and nothing. I believe if there's any kind of God…it wouldn't be in any of us…but jus t this little space in between .If there's any kind of magic in this world…it must be in the attempt of understanding someone sharing something. At that moment I believe magic was with them, they were understangding and sharing something in the deepest mind and heart wihch was not just about feeling or love, they were sharing their questions and answers about life. Their sight into each other at that moment was a sign of what might happen later. The movie was a good example of the Three Unities of Action,Time and Place, which was a love story happened in 12 hours around Vienna .That’s what I got from BEFORE SUNRISE.Before Sunrise, really before sunrise. The midterm paper of Before Sunrise and the Three Unities of Action,Time and Place.Du tianjiao10715301041071530104。

My Grandparents and Their Old JobsMy grandparents are very special people to me. Even though they are quite old now, I love hearing stories about their lives when they were young. Especially the stories about the jobs they used to have back in the day. They worked so hard, and their jobs were really tough compared to the kinds of jobs people have nowadays.Let me tell you about my grandfather first. His name is William, but everyone just calls him Bill. When he was a young man, he worked in a coal mine. Can you believe that? A coal mine! Those are the dark, underground places where they dig out chunks of black coal from deep inside the earth. It was an incredibly difficult and dangerous job.Grandfather says he had to wake up before sunrise every morning and travel for miles to get to the mine entrance. Then he and his co-workers would squeeze into a rickety old elevator that took them far underground. Once they reached the bottom, they spent all day swinging pickaxes and shovels, digging out the coal by hand. The tunnels were narrow, the ceilings were low, and it was always pitch black except for the little lamps on their helmets. Worst of all, the air was thick with coal dust that got in their eyes and lungs. My grandfather worked That brutal job for over 30 years! He says he didn't mind though, because earning money for his family was what mattered most. Now let me tell you about my sweet grandmother, Marie. Her job was completely different, but just as tough. Grandmother grew up on a farm in the countryside. When she was a young woman, she moved to the city and went to work in a clothing factory. From sunrise to sunset, she ran a giant machine that stitched and sewed pieces of fabric together to make dresses, pants, shirts, and all kinds of clothes.Grandmother says the factory air was stiflingly hot in the summer, and the loud roar of the machines made it hard to hear. But the worst part was how boring it was! She spent every day just sitting in the same spot, guiding yards and yards of fabric through the machine over and over again. It took incredible focus and patience to sew everything perfectly without making mistakes.Still, grandmother worked at that factory for decades to help support our family. She says she's proud of those years becauseher hard work helped give my mom and aunts all the opportunities they could ever want.Nowadays, my grandparents are retired and spend their days relaxing at home or going on neighborhood walks. I'm so glad they don't have to work those difficult jobs anymore! But I have such enormous respect and admiration for everything they went through when they were young. Their strength and perseverance inspires me.Whenever I'm tempted to complain about school being hard or having too much homework, I remember the stories of my grandparents' working lives. If they could handle back-breaking labor in coal mines and sweltering factories day after day, then I can definitely handle whatever challenges come my way. They set an amazing example through their dedication and work ethic. My grandparents may be old now, but they'll always be heroes to me. They faced such tough conditions and made so many sacrifices so that future generations in our family could have better lives. Just thinking about the coal dust in my grandfather's lungs or my grandmother's aching fingers from years of stitching makes me appreciate how easy I've had it by comparison.I don't know what careers my parents have planned for me, or what jobs I'll end up doing when I'm an adult. But I hope I can approach any future work with half as much grit and perseverance as my remarkable grandparents showed throughout their long, laborious lives. Their stories motivate me to work hard, stay determined, and never give up - no matter how difficult things get. Thanks to their inspiring example, I'll always remember the immense value of an honest day's work.。

As the veil of night slowly surrenders to the beckoning rays of dawn, a celestial tapestry unfolds before my very eyes. The horizon, a canvas of ethereal beauty, transforms into a vibrant palette of hues that sets my soul aflame. The first hint of daybreak manifests as a faint glimmer, a celestial spark that ignites the darkness. It is apromise of light, a harbinger of new beginnings. As the twilight fades, a soft blush of rose and lavender paintsthe eastern sky. Serene and ethereal, these colors danceand intertwine, heralding the arrival of the celestial orb.Gradually, the horizon brightens, and the sun, a majestic disc of radiant gold, emerges from its slumber. As it ascends higher into the heavens, its golden rays bathe the world in an ethereal glow. The clouds, once veiled in obscurity, transform into incandescent sculptures. Some resemble celestial swans gliding effortlessly through the sky, their wings spread wide in a graceful embrace. Others, like magnificent castles, stand tall in the heavens, their turrets reaching towards the heavens. The sight of the rising sun evokes a symphony of emotions within me. There is awe at the spectacle ofnature's grand awakening, a sense of tranquility that washes over me like a gentle breeze, and a profound appreciation for the beauty that surrounds me.As the sun continues its ascent, the world around me awakens from its slumber. Birdsong fills the air, a melodious chorus that weaves through the trees and meadows. The leaves, adorned with morning dew, shimmer like tiny diamonds, reflecting the golden rays of light. The flowers open their petals, revealing their vibrant colors and delicate fragrances. The rising sun not only illuminates the physical world but also casts a metaphorical light on my thoughts and emotions. It is a symbol of hope, a reminder that even in the darkest of times, there is always the promise of a new dawn.As I witness the daily miracle of the sunrise, I am filled with a sense of gratitude for the gift of life. It is an opportunity to embrace each day with renewed purpose and intention. The rising sun reminds me to cast aside any shadows that may have lingered from the past and to step into the future with an open and hopeful heart. The sight of the sunrise is a powerful metaphor for the journey of human life. Just as the sun rises from darkness into light, we too have the potential to emerge from adversity and find our own inner light. The challenges we face along the way serve to strengthen our resolve and teach us valuable lessons.Like the rising sun, we can choose to radiate warmth, kindness, and positivity into the world around us. We can strive to make a difference, however small, and to leave a lasting legacy of love and compassion. As the sun continues its celestial journey, I am reminded of the cycles of life. Just as day gives way tonight and winter surrenders to spring, there will be times of darkness and despair in our lives. However, like the inevitable return of the dawn, we have the power within us to rise above adversity and find our way back to the light. The sunrise is a reminder that even in the most challenging of times, there is always hope on the horizon. By embracing the transformative power of the rising sun, we can illuminate our own lives and inspire others along the way.As the sun reaches its zenith, its golden rays shower down upon the earth, casting a warm and radiant glow on all it touches. It is a moment of perfect serenity, a time to reflect on the beauty that surrounds us and to appreciate the wonders of the natural world. The rising sun is a symbol of life, renewal, and possibility. It is a reminder that even in the darkest of times, there is always hope for a brighter future. As we embrace the daily miracle of the sunrise, let us strive to live our lives with purpose, passion, and love.。

Before sunrise《

YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN,FACE TO FACE,MEET IN A STRANGER BUT ROMANTIC COUNTRY.I DREAM ABOUT IT.MEET SOMEONE I DON'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT HIM.JUST FOR FEELING.

You can never place anyone, what's lost is lost. We're all each others' demons and angels.

Love is the escape for two people who don't know how to be alone.

I woke up before sunrise, feeling excited and a little nervous about the day ahead. The thought of conquering a mountain had always been a dream of mine, and today was the day I was going to make it happen. The air was crisp and the sky was just beginning to lighten as we started our ascent. The trail was steep and rocky, but I was determined to keep going. With each step, I could feel the adrenaline coursing through my veins. As we climbed higher, the views became more and more breathtaking. The world below seemed to stretch out endlessly, and I felt a sense of freedom and exhilaration that I had never experienced before. There were moments when I wanted to give up, when the climb seemed too difficult and the summit too far away. But I pushed through the pain and the exhaustion, knowing that the feeling of accomplishment would be worth it in the end. When we finally reached the top, I was overwhelmed with a sense of awe and gratitude. The feeling of standing onthe peak, with the wind in my hair and the world at my feet, was unlike anything I had ever experienced. The descent was just as challenging as the ascent, butI felt a sense of pride and satisfaction with each step. As I looked back at the mountain, I knew that I had achieved something truly remarkable. As I made my way back to the bottom, I couldn't helpbut feel a sense of longing to do it all over again. The experience had changed me in ways I couldn't fully articulate, and I knew that I would carry the memories of that day with me for the rest of my life.。

48.before sunrise

XLVIII. BEFORE SUNRISEO heaven above me, thou pure, thou deep heaven! Thou abyss of light! Gazing on thee, I tremble with divine desires.Up to thy height to toss myself-that is MY depth! In thy purity to hide myself-that is MINE innocence! The God veileth his beauty: thus hidest thou thy stars. Thou speakest not: THUS proclaimest thou thy wisdom unto me.Mute o’er the raging sea hast thou risen for me to-day; thy love and thy modesty make a revelation unto my raging soul.In that thou camest unto me beautiful, veiled in thy beauty, in that thou spakest unto me mutely, obvious in thy wisdom:Oh, how could I fail to divine all the modesty of thy soul! BEFORE the sun didst thou come unto me-the lonesomest one.We have been friends from the beginning: to us are grief, gruesomeness, and ground common; even the sun is common to us.We do not speak to each other, because we know too much-: we keep silent to each other, we smile our knowledge to each other.Art thou not the light of my fire? Hast thou not the sister-soul of mine insight?Together did we learn everything; together did we learn to ascend beyond ourselves to ourselves, and to smile uncloudedly:- – Uncloudedly to smile down out of luminous eyes and out of miles of distance, when under us constraint and purpose and guilt steam like rain. And wandered I alone, for WHAT did my soul hunger by nightand in labyrinthine paths? And climbed I mountains, WHOM did I ever seek, if not thee, upon mountains? And all my wandering and mountain-climbing: a necessity was it merely, and a makeshift of the unhandy one:-to FLY only, wanteth mine entire will, to fly into THEE!And what have I hated more than passing clouds, and whatever tainteth thee? And mine own hatred have I even hated, because it tainted thee! The passing clouds I detest-those stealthy cats of prey: they take from thee and me what is common to us-the vast unbounded Yea- and Amen-saying.These mediators and mixers we detest-the passing clouds: those half-and-half ones, that have neither learned to bless nor to curse from the heart.Rather will I sit in a tub under a closed heaven, rather will I sit in the abyss without heaven, than see thee, thou luminous heaven, tainted with passing clouds! And oft have I longed to pin them fast with the jaggedgold-wires of lightning, that I might, like the thunder, beat the drum upon their kettle-bellies:-– An angry drummer, because they rob me of thy Yea and Amen!-thou heaven above me, thou pure, thou luminous heaven! Thou abyss of light!-because they rob thee of MY Yea and Amen. For rather will I have noise and thunders and tempest-blasts, than this discreet, doubting cat-repose; and also amongst men do I hate most of all the soft-treaders, and half-and-half ones, and the doubting, hesitating, passing clouds. And “he who cannot bless shall LEARN to curse!”-this clearteaching dropt unto me from the clear heaven; this star standeth in my heaven even in dark nights.I, however, am a blesser and a Yea-sayer, if thou be but around me, thou pure, thou luminous heaven! Thou abyss of light!-into all abysses do I then carry my beneficent Yea-saying.A blesser have I become and a Yea-sayer: and therefore strove I long and was a striver, that I might one day get my hands free for blessing. This, however, is my blessing: to stand above everything as its own heaven, its round roof, its azure bell and eternal security: and blessed is he who thus blesseth! For all things are baptized at the font of eternity, and beyond good and evil; good and evil themselves, however, are but fugitive shadows and damp afflictions and passing clouds.Verily, it is a blessing and not a blasphemy when I teach that “above all things there standeth the heaven of chance, the heaven of innocence, the heaven of hazard, the heaven of wantonness.”“Of Hazard”-that is the oldest nobility in the world; that gave I back to all things; I emancipated them from bondage under purpose. This freedom and celestial serenity did I put like an azure bell above all things, when I taught that over them and through them, no “eternal Will”-willeth.This wantonness and folly did I put in place of that Will, when I taught that “In everything there is one thing impossible-rationality!”A LITTLE reason, to be sure, a germ of wisdom scattered from star to star-this leaven is mixed in all things: for the sake of folly, wisdom is mixed in all things!A little wisdom is indeed possible; but this blessed security have I found in all things, that they prefer-to DANCE on the feet of chance.O heaven above me! thou pure, thou lofty heaven! This is now thy purity unto me, that there is no eternal reason-spider andreason-cobweb:-– That thou art to me a dancing-floor for divine chances, that thou art to me a table of the Gods, for divine dice and dice-players!-But thou blushest? Have I spoken unspeakable things? Have I abused, when I meant to bless thee?Or is it the shame of being two of us that maketh thee blush!-Dost thou bid me go and be silent, because now-DAY cometh? The world is deep:-and deeper than e’er the day could read. Not everything may be uttered in presence of day. But day cometh: so let us part!O heaven above me, thou modest one! thou glowing one! O thou, my happiness before sunrise! The day cometh: so let us part!- Thus spake Zarathustra.gruesome [ˈgru:səm] adj.恐怖的steam vi.形成水汽makeshift [ˈmeɪkʃɪft] n. 休息but adv.

BEFORE SUNRISE
By Richard Linklater and Kim Krizan
FADE IN:
FADE IN:
INT. TRAIN - AFTERNOON 1
The Eurail rolls along. Inside, passengers sleep, read, and stare out the windows. A few walk up and down the aisles.
CELINE, a young woman in her mid-twenties, is curled up in her seat reading Georges Bataill°OsStory of the Eye.
Strikingly attractive, she plays it down by wearing no makeup, a loose-fitting vintage dress, and flat shoes. She continues reading while taking an occasional bite of a chocolate bar. Sitting four rows back and on the other side of the aisle, JESSE, also mid-twenties, is engrossed in Klaus Kinski°Os memoir,All I Need Is Love. Casually good looking but a little scruffy, he dresses in the jeans and T-shirt mode. Suddenly a couple, two fortyish types who have been arguing semiquietly in the seat behind Celine, start yelling at each other in German. The WIFE takes a swipe at the newspaper the HUSBAND has been screening him behind.
WIFE
Will you put down that damn newspaper and listen to me?
HUSBAND
What°Ove I been doing the lastthirty minutes? Would you shut up for Chrissake?
WIFE
You shut up! How dare you tell me to shut up! It°Os the same damnthing all over again! I can°Ot believe --
HUSBAND
I said shut up! I°Om putting downmy newspaper and telling you to shut up.
Celine suddenly gets up, grabs her bag, and starts looking for another seat. A few rows back, she finds a seat across the aisle from Jesse. Before sitting down, they make brief eye contact and kind of shake their heads and smile at the tension. Just as she settles in and goes back to her book, the wife gets up and storms down the aisle. Jesse and Celine follow her with their eyes, and as she passes them, they find they are looking right at each other. He makes a funny °∞uhoh°± face
2.
JESSE
Do you have any idea what they°Orearguing about? Do you speak English?
CELINE
Yes. But no, I don°Ot know. MyGerman is not that good.
(a beat)
Have you ever heard that as couples get older they lose their ability to hear each other?
JESSE
Really?
CELINE
Supposedly men lose their ability to hear higher-pitched sounds and women eventually lose hearing on the low end. I guess they sort of nullify each other or something.
JESSE
Must be nature°Os way of allowing
couples to grow old together and
not kill each other, I guess.
There°Os a slightly awkward moment where they don°Ot know i they should continue talking or not. She glances back down
at her book but he keeps looking at her.
JESSE (CONT°OD
What are you reading?
She holds up the book so he can see what it is.
CELINE
How about you?
He shows her what he°Os reading. Neither has much to say about the other°Os reading material.
CELINE (CONT°OD
There are so many weird people on
the train, no? Last week on my way
to Budapest I was sitting and
talking with four other people in
the lounge car and it turned out
that three of them had killed
people.
JESSE
No way.。
