Last July, my 12-year-old car died on California's Santa Freeway. It was an hour before

Colour is very important in our life. It has a lot to do with our feelings. So colours are sometimes called hot, cold or neutral（中性的）. Red and yellow are hot colours because they make a room feel warmer. They also make the walls seem nearer to us than they really are. We say that blue and green are cold. They can give us the different feeling—the room feels cooler and the walls seem to be farther away. A neutral colours is one that does not affect our feelings. Brown and gray are both neutral, but they may also be put into hot or cold colours to affect our feelings.

We can begin to see the importance to choose the colours we want. Although red might be very good for a restaurant, it would be wrong for an art gallery（画廊）. People want to look at the pictures, not the walls behind. White is used to make a small room look large. If a room is very small, you can use the white colour for the walls.
