William Sydney Porter (1862-1910), whose pen name was O. Henry, was a worldfamous American short story writer. In his stories, he often focused on the everyday life of ordinary people in New York City at that time. His stories are best known for their surprise endings.
Pre-reading: Think and answer About surprising endings: O. Henry’s stories are best known for their twists or surprise endings. So much so that people now refer to such endings as “O. Henry-style gs”. In these endings, there will be a sudden twist that results in an unexpected change of the characters’ inner world, experience, destiny, etc., thus creating an unexpected yet understandable result. Such endings will make the story more appealing and dramatic, as well as more memorable for its readers.

高中英语课堂教学设计案例外研版英语教材(必修)高一第一册module 4的第一课时Introduction and reading 为例本节课的教学目标设定为1.To get basic information about reading (scanning and skimming)2.To conclude the method of reading by answering questions and observing the structure of the text.3. To improve the abilities of reading二课堂教学分层1.教学活动的设计与操作为便于教学目标的达成和教学任务的操作课堂活动可以以小组为单位进行。

然后根据教学内容和学生情况决定采取同组同质或同组异质的标准。

在module 4的阅读指导中由于我所设计的课堂阅读任务层次性很强而且学生之间阅读水平差距很大因此我采取了同组同质的小组合作模式。

学生4人一组每组同学完成任务后可以先进行组内讨论核对答案后可以进行相同任务的小组之间的交流。

2. 课堂教学策略的运用除了小组合作模式的教学活动之外我们还可以充分运用交际策略和资源策略在课堂上组织学生进行A、B、C三组之间的交流以交际为知识构建的平台运用information gap原理分享彼此的任务和信息激励后进生向中等生、中等生向优等生的转化同时也促进层次目标的达成和不同层次学生的共同发展、共同进步。

将Introduction 和reading整合为第一课时。

通过调查我们可以了解周围了解同学了解我们的城市。

这是一个美丽的城市它工业发达商业兴隆这里的名胜古迹和自然风景令人向往这里的摩登建筑令人眼花缭乱这里的气候宜人它的确是一个可爱的城市是一个生活和旅游的好去处。

五、具体步骤如下热身 1.Warming up by showing some pictures and discussing some questions 图片展示2.Warming up by showing some pictures about buildings to lead in some new words.图片词汇学习3. Warming up by studying vocabulary.生词表生词学习:通过两个步骤进行读前准备1.Asking and Answering看图片回答问题2. Introduce some new words学习wordlist第四模块的生词。
