这一单元有三个部分单词或词汇第一课:A Listen and match; B Let’s talk; C Let’s write。
A部分借助Get ready图和听力内容,情境化地呈现了六个目标词汇:wonderful, cool, fantastic, cartoons, news shows 和 nature shows;让学生通过看、听、做等途径来感知并学习这些词汇。

1There are thousands and thousands of wonderful programs on TV everyday. Of these, news program has always been my favorite. Almost everyday, I turn on TV at 6:50 p.m. and wait for the news program. This has almost become apart of my life.News program contains a large amount of latest information from the most serious international political affairs to the most enjoyable football games. The most important feature of the program is its fast rhythm. Because of this fast rhythm, it can contain so much information in such a short time.I like this program because I think this program is more than just a TV program itself. In fact, it is a way of communication. From this program, people can be well informed about the affairs both at home and abroad in time. The world is developing fast, but if you watch this program everyday, you will feel that you are always in pace with the development of the world.每天电视上有成千上万的精彩节目,其中新闻节目一直是我最喜欢的。

四级作文预测题目12篇
大学英语四级作文预测题目1. TV Talent Show1. 有人赞成电视选秀节目2. 有人则反对3. 我的观点【范文】Over the past couple of years, a variety of talent shows have emerged on TV channel across our nation, from Happy Girls to Super Boys and so forth. This type of entertainment programs is intensely popular, especially among youngsters. It has produces profound impacts on their studies and life. They believe that the TV talent show can change their fate. At least, they say, the program offers the opportunity to show and develop one’s talents. On the contrary, a number of people hold negative attitude to TV talent shows. They maintain that The TV talent show today is like a fiver that has risen to its flood level. It misleads the youth and makes them believe that they can make a fortune or become famous overnight. As a result, a great many students can’t calm down to study during the show’s season. For my part, I believe that the TV talent show is like a double-edged sword and it is important for us to face it properly. For one thing, the TV studios are supposed to offer more stimulating and favorable shows. For another, the media ought to give people proper guidance and refrain from exaggerating the effects of the show.2. Killing Time Indoors1. 现在很多人业余时间喜欢“宅”在家里2. 人们对这种做法有不同的看法3. 我的看法【范文】Nowadays a growing number of people, especially the 20s or 30s, tend to stay indoors for most of their spare time, especially during holidays. Some spend the majority of their time online chatting, blogging, shopping, dating or playing computer games. Some sit with their eyes glued to the television screen, day and night.People’s opinions vary when it comes to this ways of killing time. A great number of people maintain that staying indoors is cheaper, comfortable, and most importantly, very safe. Others, however, frown upon staying indoors for too long. They are worried that lack of physical exercise and face-to-face communication with others will do harm to people’s body and mind.Personally, I don’t think staying indoors for most of the day should be advocated. Instead, people in all ages, with their physical conditions permitting, should be encouraged to spend more time outdoors. The fresh air, the brilliant sunshine, the pleasant green space, the interactions with other people, etc. are all good for p eople’s health, both physically and psychologically.3. Restrict Mobile Phone in Library1. 现在有不少人在图书馆的阅览区里使用手机2. 这一现象可能带来的影响3. 我的看法【范文】As the number of students who have mobile phones increases, various problems also rise, along with its popularity. One of the problems that have aroused students’attention is the use of mobile phone in the reading room of library. And this phenomenon has become so common that you can always see someone using mobile phone whenever you go into the library. There is no doubt that this behavior will have no good effect. On the one hand, students who use it can not concentrate on their own studies when they constantly send or receive messages. On the other hand, with the ringing of the phones and people’s talking over the phone, students around them may be distracted from their reading as well. Therefore, the proper way of using mobile phones in the library must be emphasized. First of all, whenever you enter the library, turn your mobile phone into the mode of silence or vibration so as to avoid the disturbance of other students. Second, if you do need to make a call or send or receive messages, you’d better go out of the reading room or at least try to reduce the volume of your sound and your phone’s sound.4. My Opinion on Micro-blog1. 目前越来越多人开起了“微博”2.“微博”会带来一些问题3. 我的看法【范文】With the improvement of micro-blog services and the influence of some “star bloggers”,most of whom arecelebrities, micro-blog is becoming an important way for people to express themselves and communicate with others. Now, more and more people start to use micro-blog services. However, micro-blog might give rise to some problems as well. Some bloggers would express their thoughts and ideas by writing them down in the micro-blogs rather than communicate with their friends or family members. Day by day, blogs tend to draw people away from real life. What’s worse, lack of face-to-face communication with others might isolate bloggers from the society, which would do harm to their mental health. In my view, micro-blog is a good platform for people to show their personal experiences and communicate with others. However, micro-bloggers should adjust the item and avoid spending the whole day on blogging. After all, sitting in front of the cold screen of computer for long does no goodto their health, physically and mentally.5. Celebrities as Products’ Spokespersons1. 现在明星为产品代言的现象很普遍2.明星代言存在的一些问题2. 我的看法【范文】In the contemporary society, it is very common for celebrities, or the so-called superstars to be spokesperson for a wide variety of products. On the Internet, television, newspapers, magazines and even on the walls of some buildings, you may find celebrities in the advertising posters. There are some problems existing in celebrities’endorsing products. In the first place, some stars may know nothing about the products but still accept the invitation as their spokesperson. To these stars, “Look before leap”is just a saying. In the second place, for the sake of money, some stars advertise for items with low quality, even for fake commodities. They never care about consumers’interests. In my view, as spokespersons, celebrities represent the products. They should understand that the products they are endorsing concern their images and consumers’interests. Therefore, before endorsing products, they should learn about the products as much as possible. Only by doing so, can they be trusted by their fans and protect the legal rights of general public.6.Spam Message1.目前垃圾短信泛滥2.这种现象产生的原因3. 如何解决这个问题【范文】With the increasing use of cell phones, spam messages have become a heated issue. According to a survey, on average, people receive about 40 pieces of spam message per month. Spam messages may disturb, confuse, or even threaten people at any time.Generally, there are two reasons for the spam epidemic. On the one hand, due to the fact that text message is a comparatively cheap channel. Many companies take advantageof it to advertise their products or services. Whether people are willing to receive the message is neglected. On the other hand, operators, holding lots of information on cell phone users, sell the importance information and make money out of it.To solve the problem of spam message, relative authorities and professionals should make joint efforts. The government should set up laws to severely punish the illegal advertisers and those who disclose users’ information. Cell phone researchers and developers should upgrade the products and enable them to delete the spam automatically. Should people act together, they will be free from the spam message.7. Internet Slang1. 近年来,网络语言在青少年中很流行;2. 人们对这一现象的看法不同;3. 我的看法是……【范文】Internet slang such as CU (see you) and 3X (thanks), enjoy great popularity among teenagers nowadays. In fact, it has become so popular that many items now cross from computer-mediated communication to face-to-face communication. Some teenagers even use them in spoken communication as well as in essay writing.People have different opinions towards this phenomenon. Some people say that the crossover is a brand new variety of language evolving and will enrich the language. But others disagree, saying that these new words, being short form forthe existing, long-used phrase, don’t“enrich” anything; they just shorten it. Furthermore, even if the slang such as CU and 3X and becomes common in spoken English, their total effect on language will be trivial. In my opinion, Internet slang has little effect on language in general, but will greatly influence individuals, especially teenagers’language development. It is because overuse of Internet slang will lead to their poor writing, being lacks in spellings, grammar and proper punctuations. That will drastically reduce chances of employment after they graduate and seek jobs. So, for the sake of their future, teenagers had better refrain from Internet slang. 8. How to Relieve Stress1. 现代人面临着各种压力2. 人们减压的方法各异3. 我的减压方法是…...【范文1】In today’s fast-paced world and with the booming economy, stress is our constant companion. We may face stress from our jobs, families, peers, etc. Though stress adds flavor and challenge to life, too much stress can seriously affect people’s physical and mental well-being, so it is necessary to handle stress properly. When it comes to reducing stress, people vary in their ways. Some people talk with someone, perhaps a friend or a family member, about their anxieties and worries. Others allow themselves a mental “get-away”: a quiet country scene painted mentally can divert them from the tension of astressful situation to a more relaxing frame of mind. There are also people who create a sense of peace by reading a good book. The effective way to relieve stress for me is different from those mentioned above. I have several relaxation techniques. For examples, when stress occurs, I would take a deep breath and exhale and if possible, I would take a warm bath. They prove to be very helpful. They help me to calm down my mind and improve my response.【范文2】Stress is an inevitable part in our life. Many kinds of big events, such as natural disasters, wars and death, can cause great stress. On a day-to-day basis, most people may be faced with stress, resulting from trivial things: taking an exam, waiting in a line, and having too many things to do within a limited time.Various ways can help people to reduce stress. Some people try physical activities which prove to be a great way of getting rid of pressure. For others, sparing time for fun, such as reading humorous books or listening to beautiful music, also helps to derive away bad moods. Still, a good cry can be an effective and healthy way to bring relief to one’s anxiety in a short time.As far as I am concerned, when stress does occur, it is important to recognize it and deal with it rather than escaping from it. My usual way to decrease stress would be practicing yoga, which helps me relax and it is good in keeping a very peaceful mind. And, I strongly oppose thenegative ways such as taking sleeping pills, drinking heavily or fighting.9. Is Military Training Necessary Now?1. 有人认为现在的大学生军训没必要2. 有人则认为有必要3. 我认为……【范文1】Whether military training is still necessary for freshmen has become a heated topic in China recently. Some people maintain that it is not and should be canceled. For one thing, military training is nothing but kind of torture, causing horrible sudden death time and again. For another, the training seems ineffective since most students resume their idling lifestyles at the end of the training. However, other people believe that military training is a must for today’s spoiled youth. First of all, it makes them more likely to persistinstead of escaping in face of hardships. Second, the self- discipline and teamwork spirit students develop are invisibly valuable wealth for their future. Last but not least, it provides a good chance for students to learn more on military and broaden their horizons.Generally, I agree with those advocating for military training. However, I insist that some training programs should be modified or carried out carefully. For example, when trainees have to stand for hours in the hot sun, trainers and teachers should watch closely their physical conditions to prevent the tragedy of sudden death from happening.【范文2】Is it necessary for universities to hold militarytraining for the freshmen now? Different people havedifferent opinions. The opponents say it is a waste of time because what the students learn from it is of no use to their real life. Besides, they also worry about the safety due to the increasing cases of students who got injured or died in it.However, the supporters hold the view that the military training is very beneficial. They believe that it can nurture students’ sense of unity and discipline and foster students’ patriotism as well. What is more, the advocators regard the military training as a good chance for students coming from different cities to know and help each other, which will help them ease the feeling of homesickness. Personally, I think the military training is not a bad thing if effective measures are taken to avoid the potential risks involved in it. With careful consideration and preparation, it can not only have a good influence on students’character, but also help students learn how to cooperate with other people.10. Whom Do You Turn to When in Trouble?1. 有人遇到困难时向同学、朋友求助2.有人则向老师、家长求助3.以你自己为例……【范文】Just as the saying goes: life is not all roses, all of use will need someone else’s help to deal with problems that we may encounter in our life. Here comes the question: whom will you turn to for help? Some say they will ask their classmates or friends for help, because they are peers, thus they can understand each other easily. However, others have different choices when in trouble. They are inclined to tell their teachers and parents the difficulties they are faced with. In their opinion, teachers and parents, who are much older than them, can give them a hand with their rich experience. As for me, close friends are always the people who come to my mind firstly when I am intrigued by something that can not be solved by myself. If we can not figure out a solution by our joint effort, I will go to my teachers or parents for help. With their suggestions or instructions, I can finally find the best way to cope with my troubles.11. On Self-employment of College Graduates1. 政府加大了鼓励大学毕业生自主创业的力度;2.产生这一现象的原因;3.我的看法是……【范文】Nowadays many college graduates set up their own companies with the fund from the government, which is part of the plans to help graduates to get employed. If graduates can put forward a creative and original plan, they will get the financial aid from the government. Our government is paying increasing attention to this program. There are many reasons responsible for this program. It is intended to stimulate college graduates’ creativity and relieve their pressure of employment. First, there has been an expansion in universities and colleges. As a result, the rate of unemployment is on the rise in recent years because of the competitive job market. Second, some graduate employees are not satisfied with their present jobs and their enthusiasm for work has been frustrated, so they can’t exhaust their potentials. Third, some brilliant and ambitious graduates are confronted with a shortage of start- up capital, so they find it hard to apply what they learn to practice, no matter how good their idea sounds. As far as I’m concerned, the program will not only offer opportunities to graduates but also bring back their confidence in themselves and in the future. An increasing number of graduates will benefit from this program. What is more, the development of each graduate will surely promote the development of the whole society in the long run.12. Text Messages on TV Shows1 目前各类电视节目广泛使用短信参与方式2. 人们对此有不同的看法3. 我认为…….【范文】At present, text messages are widely used in various TV shows. From serious news programs to different kinds of entertainment programs, we can always see some interactive sessions which all include the use of text messages, such as text-message voting in Super-girls and Happy boys.Is it good or bad? Some people hold the view that it provides a convenient and relatively cheaper way for audience to participate in the program. While others think it is nothing but a method which takes advantage of the public’s curiosity and their hope of winning awards to lure them into sending lots of messages that cost them a large amount of money. As far as I’m concerned, text message is an effective medium for the audience to interact with the TV shows, which can arouse people’s passion for watching the programs, and bring benefits to the TV station as well. But when we are enjoying the merit of it, we should also take the contents and objectives of the TV programs into consideration to ensure the quality of the TV shows.13. Attending Your Classes Regularly1. 大学生迟到、早退、旷课现象越来越普遍;2. 保证学生的出勤率对大学教育的重要性;3. 作为大学生,我们应该……【范文】In recent years, with the admission expansion of colleges and universities, there exists a common phenomenon that an increasing number of students are late for or even absentfrom classes, and a few students even slip out of the classroom before the teacher end up the class. The class attendance is becoming one major problem waiting for immediate attention. There is no doubt that class attendance is of crucial importance to students’ development. In the first place, if students fail to attend the class timely, they will surely miss what the teacher adds to the textbook. In the second place, they demonstrate a lack of self-constraint which plays a vital part in their future. What is worse, they will definitely influence the smooth progress of the class, and his classmate fall victims to his violation of rule.As college students, we should bear in mind that “Well begun is half done”and “Habits make nature”.If we can develop a good habit and prevent ourselves from violating the rule, even the most trivial one, we will certainly strive straight toward the target we have in mind. We should learn to discipline ourselves on campus; otherwise we may suffer a lot in our work place in the near future. You might lose your job or opportunity if you were late.14. Campus Certificate Craze1.大学生“考证热”成为潮流;2.出现这种现象的原因;3.你的看法是……【范文】If you just stop student on campus and ask him what he is busy about, chances are that he will tell you he is preparing for a certificate of some kind. Investigationpoints to the fact that it has become a new craze for university and college students to get more certificates. There are two main reasons for this phenomenon. To begin with, university and college students are faced with the pressure of finding a job after graduation. With the admission expansion of colleges, a lot more graduates have to compete for the limited jobs posts. How could one be more competitive? More certificates will doubtlessly impress the employers, so the students are compelled to run from one exam to another. Besides, more and more universities and colleges modify their education training which includes several creative credits. If students fail to get such credits, they can not graduate. As a result, most students choose to pursue certificates. As far as I am concerned, the students should have a more rational attitude toward certificate, because such certificates do not necessarily represent one’s ability. For me, inner ability speaks louder than certificates, which can only be compared to appearance. Opportunities only arise when you are excellent enough in your field. 15. A Brief Introduction to the University假设你是一名学生志愿者,要给来你们学校参观的外国朋友介绍学校情况。

tvshow英语作文
tvshow英语作文Here is an English essay on the topic of TV shows, with the content exceeding 1000 words as per your instructions. The essay does not include a title and has no extra punctuation marks in the main body.Television shows have become an integral part of modern society, providing entertainment, education, and a window into different cultures and perspectives. From the classic sitcoms of the past to the cutting-edge dramas and reality shows of today, TV has the power to captivate audiences and shape our understanding of the world around us. In this essay, we will explore the various aspects of television shows and their impact on our lives. One of the primary reasons for the enduring popularity of TV shows is their ability to tell compelling stories. Whether it's the quirky antics of a group of friends in a sitcom or the high-stakes drama of a crime procedural, well-written and well-acted television shows have the power to transport us to different worlds and introduce us to characters that we can't help but become invested in. The best TV shows are able to tackle complex themes and societal issues in a way that is both entertaining and thought-provoking, leaving a lasting impression on the viewer.Another key factor in the success of TV shows is their ability to create a sense of community and shared experience among viewers. When a highly anticipated new episode or season of a popular show airs, it becomes a shared cultural event, with fans eagerly discussing plot points, theories, and character developments on social media and in real-life conversations. This sense of community can be especially powerful for marginalized or underrepresented groups, who may see themselves reflected in the diverse cast and storylines of certain TV shows. Moreover, television shows have the power to educate and inform viewers on a wide range of topics. From historical dramas that shed light on important events and figures to documentaries that delve into complex social and scientific issues, TV can be a valuable educational tool. By presenting information in an engaging and accessible format, TV shows can help to broaden our understanding of the world and inspire us to learn more.At the same time, the influence of television shows on our culture and society cannot be overstated. The way that certain shows depict and represent different groups and identities can have a significant impact on public perception and understanding. For example, the increased representation of LGBTQ+ characters and storylines in recent years has helped to challenge stereotypes and promotegreater acceptance and understanding of the LGBTQ+ community. However, the power of television shows can also be used to perpetuate harmful stereotypes and biases. The lack of diversity and representation in many TV shows, particularly in lead roles and positions of power, can reinforce the idea that certain groups are not worthy of being the central focus of a story. This can have a detrimental effect on the self-esteem and sense of belonging of viewers who don't see themselves reflected on screen.Furthermore, the portrayal of violence, addiction, and other social issues in TV shows can also have a significant impact on viewers, particularly young people. While some shows may aim to tackle these issues in a responsible and nuanced way, the constant exposure to these themes can have a desensitizing effect and potentially influence behavior and decision-making.Despite these potential drawbacks, the overall impact of television shows on our lives is undeniably significant. From the way they shape our cultural discourse to the way they can inspire and educate us, TV shows have the power to both reflect and shape the world around us.As we look to the future of television, it's clear that the medium will continue to evolve and adapt to the changing needs and preferences of viewers. With the rise of streaming platforms and the increasingdemand for diverse and inclusive storytelling, we can expect to see even more innovative and thought-provoking TV shows in the years to come.Ultimately, the value of television shows lies in their ability to connect us to one another, to challenge our preconceptions, and to inspire us to see the world in new and different ways. Whether we're laughing along with our favorite sitcom characters or grappling with the complex moral dilemmas presented in a gripping drama, TV shows have the power to enrich our lives and shape our understanding of the world around us.。

社交媒体对当代年轻的影响英语作文
社交媒体对当代年轻的影响英语作文全文共6篇示例,供读者参考篇1The Impact of Social Media on Kids TodaySocial media is everywhere these days! It seems like all the older kids and teenagers are always on apps like Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat and more. Even some of my classmates in 5th grade have accounts their parents let them use. I don't have any social media accounts yet, but I've heard a lot about the pros and cons from my parents, teachers, and on TV shows. There's a big debate about whether social media is good or bad for kids my age. I've given it a lot of thought, and here's what I think about it all.On the one hand, social media can be lots of fun and open up cool opportunities. I've seen videos of kids my age doing funny dances or skits on TikTok that look really entertaining. Some have even gotten famous and made money from brand deals and sponsorships! That would be a dream come true. Social media also makes it easier to stay connected with friends, share interests, be creative and express yourself. My parents saythat when they were kids, they had to call friends on a home phone or see them in person to catch up. Now you can instantly message, video chat, and share pictures or videos anytime. That seems way more convenient. There are also some good educational uses of social media from what I understand. Teachers sometimes have students follow accounts about science, history or literature to learn in a more modern, interactive way. Kids can pick up new skills from free tutorials on YouTube or ask questions and get feedback from experts online. It's like having a wealth of knowledge at your fingertips that past generations didn't have access to. If used properly, social media could make learning way more fun and effective. However, there is a big downside that really concerns me about social media - safety and privacy risks. I've heard so many scary stories about cyberbullying, online predators, accidental oversharing of private information, and seeing inappropriate content. My parents are very strict about privacy settings and being careful what I look at or post online, even for little kid games and videos. They always remind me that anything I share digitally could potentially exist forever and be seen by millions. That's a terrifying thought!Another issue I've learned about is how social media can be intentionally designed to be addictive, especially for young people whose brains are still developing. There are tricks like random rewards, endless scroll features, and alerts that constantly pull you back in to check for new likes or shares. I've seen some kids get so obsessed and neglect schoolwork or time with friends in real life. They're always buried in their phones, desperate for approval from strangers online. That doesn't seem healthy at all.Speaking of health, another big problem with excessive social media use is the impact on physical and mental well-being. Too much screen time is linked to issues like obesity, sleep problems, cyberbullying trauma, and lowered self-esteem when people start unhealthily comparing their lives to the "perfect" lives they see portrayed online. I've noticed some of my friends who are on apps a lot seem more moody, distracted and sedentary than others. I can't help but wonder if it's related. So in conclusion, while social media has some potential upsides and can be fun when used very moderately and with guidance, I believe the risks and downsides currently outweigh the benefits for kids my age. Maybe when I'm a teenager I'll be old enough to start using some apps, but with very strict parentalcontrols and a focus on productivity over pure entertainment. For now though, I'm honestly kind of glad my parents are being cautious and making me wait. Real-life friendships, hobbies, and experiences seem so much more valuable and important than racking up virtual likes and shares. I'd hate to become one of those kids so zoned into their phones that they miss out on actually living life in the real world. Those are just my thoughts as a 10-year-old, but I think it's a serious issue worth discussing. What does everyone else think about the impact of social media on kids? I'd be really curious to hear other perspectives.篇2The Impact of Social Media on Kids TodayHi there! My name is Jamie and I'm 10 years old. I love playing video games, reading comics, and using social media apps and websites. Social media is a big part of my life and the lives of most kids today. I wanted to tell you all about how it impacts us - the good, the bad, and the weird!First off, what even is social media? It's all those apps and websites that let you connect with friends, share pictures and videos, chat with others, and more. The big ones that my friends and I use are Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat, and YouTube. Myparents are always saying we're "addicted" to our phones and social media, and I can kind of see why!I love social media because it lets me easily stay in touch with my friends and see what they're up to. We're always sending each other silly videos, memes, and snaps. It's a fun way to goof off together even when we're not in the same place. I also like following my favorite YouTubers and seeing their latest videos. Some of them are so funny!Social media also helps me learn about new games, TV shows, music, and trends that are popular with kids my age. It's how I find out about the latest cool things. And when there's a new movie or video game coming out that I'm excited about, I can bond with my friends over our shared hype for it on social media. On the other hand, social media can be a negative thing too. Some kids get bullied or left out when they see their friends hanging out without them on Snapchat or Instagram. That can make them feel really sad and left out. cyber-bullying is also a big problem, when people send mean messages or make fun of others online. I've seen some pretty harsh stuff said to kids at my school over social media and it's not cool.Another downside is that many kids spend wayyy too much time staring at their phones and social media instead of playing outside, reading books, or hanging out in person. I have some friends who I swear never stop scrolling on TikTok! Their parents are always yelling at them to put their phones down. I try to limit my social media time so I don't become a zombie like them.Social media can also make kids worried about their looks and popularity. When you see your friends and celebrities looking perfect with fancy clothes and makeup on Instagram, it makes some kids feel bad about themselves in comparison. There's a lot of pressure to look great in every pic and video you post. Some kids even get plastic surgery or develop eating issues because they're so obsessed with their online image. That's really unhealthy. But perhaps the weirdest and scariest part of social media is how much data is collected on us kids. The apps track literally everything we do - what we search for, what videos we watch, who we chat with, you name it. They even use computer vision AI to scan our pics and videos! All that private data gets shared with advertisers and tech companies so they can target ads toward us and try to influence what we buy or do online.I don't fully understand it, but my parents warn me about how social media is designed to be as addictive as possible and keep us engaged for the profit of big corporations. Sometimes I watch endless autoplay videos on YouTube Kids and suddenly realize I've wasted hours of my day. Looking back, I can't even remember what most of them were about! I was just mindlessly swiping and tapping because the algorithm kept pushing more vids my way.So in summary, social media is awesome because it helps me stay connected to friends, discover cool new things, and be entertained. But it's also addictive, could negatively affect my self-esteem and mental health, enables bullying, and tracks way too much of my personal data and usage habits. It's a powerful double-edged sword that we kids have to learn to wield responsibly. As I get older, I know social media will likely play an even bigger role in my life. My plan is to try my best to be aware of the risks, set limits for myself, and not let it take over or cause me anxiety or sadness. Using social media mindfully is key. After all, at the end of the day, the real world and my in-person relationships with friends and family are what truly matter most.Well, that's my take as a 10-year-old kid growing up with social media being a huge part of my life and culture. Let me know if any adults out there have additional thoughts or advice to share! Thanks for reading.篇3The Big Impact of Social MediaSocial media is everywhere these days! It seems like all my friends and their families are always on apps like Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat and more. Even a lot of younger kids are getting phones and tablets and joining social media at earlier ages. But is being plugged into social media all the time a good thing or a bad thing? I think it has some pluses and minuses we should think about. On the plus side, social media can be a fun way to connect with friends and family. With apps like Snapchat and Instagram, you can easily share pictures and videos of your daily life and see what your friends and relatives are up to as well. Social media makes it easy to stay in touch with people you can't see in person regularly. My cousins live in another state, but we can still chat and swap silly videos on our favorite apps.Social media can also be educational and open you up to new ideas, cultures, and perspectives from around the world. On apps like Instagram and TikTok, you can follow scientists, authors, dancers, chefs, and all kinds of interesting people sharing their knowledge and talents. I've learned about cool animals, historical events, and even how to do magic tricks from social media! The hashtag and explore page features make it easy to discover new topics you're interested in.However, there are some big potential downsides to spending too much time on social media that kids and adults need to be aware of. One negative is that it can be a huge time drain and distraction. It's easy to get sucked into endlessly scrolling through your feeds for hours when you meant to only spend a few minutes checking messages. That can make it harder to stay focused on schoolwork, chores, or other important things.I know I have to be strict about limiting my social media time so it doesn't interfere with my homework!Another risk of social media is that viewing highly curated and edited images of other people's supposedly "perfect" lives can negatively impact self-esteem and body image, especially for teenagers and young adults. When you see endless pictures of influencers and celebrities with beautiful looks, fancy vacations, and expensive things, it can make you feel bad about your own normal life and appearance. Studies show this behavior of constantly comparing ourselves to idealized images on social media is linked to higher rates of depression, anxiety, and eating disorders.A third major issue with social media is the spread of misinformation, bullying, and negativity across the platforms. From celebrity gossip and pranks that go too far to disinformation about things like health, politics, and world events—the internet can be full of untrustworthy ormean-spirited content. Cyberbullying is also a big problem, where kids and teens anonymously say really hurtful things they'd never say in real life. Being the target of intense online bullying has even driven some young people to self-harm. Families need to monitor activity and remind kids that not everything they see online is true or representative of reality. So in conclusion, social media is a very powerful thing in today's world, with both positive and negative sides to consider—especially for young, developing minds. When used with balance and awareness, apps like Instagram and TikTok can be entertaining, connect us to new ideas, and help us keep in touch with friends. But when taken to extremes, mindlessscrolling, comparisons to idealized images, and the spread of misinformation and hate can be really damaging. I still love my social media, but I try to remember to take breaks, be thoughtful about who and what I engage with, and spend lots of quality time with family and on other activities too. What do you think—how has social media impacted your life or community? Let me know!篇4The Big World of Social MediaHi there! My name is Jamie and I'm 10 years old. Today I want to tell you all about social media and how it affects kids like me. Social media is really popular these days and most of my friends use apps like TikTok, Instagram, Snapchat and YouTube a lot.Social media lets you share pictures, videos, messages and all kinds of stuff online. It connects you with your friends and lets you see what they are up to. You can comment on each other's posts and send funny memes and emojis back and forth. It's a really cool way to stay in touch and have fun together even when you're not in the same place.A lot of kids my age are totally obsessed with social media. Some of my classmates scroll through TikTok for hours, watching video after video of people dancing, doing silly pranks or just being goofy. The really popular TikTokers have millions of followers and make a ton of money! I know some kids who want to be influencers when they grow up so they can get free stuff and get paid to promote products.Instagram is another big one that everyone seems to use. It's all about posting pictures, filtering them to look really cool and arty, and getting a bunch of likes and follows. People spend so much time picking the perfect selfie and editing it until it looks just right before sharing it. The kids with the most followers are like celebrities at my school.I have to admit, I really enjoy using social media too. It's fun to see what my friends are up to and chat with them online. And I love watching silly videos and keeping up with the latest trends. But sometimes I wonder if we're all spending too much time staring at our screens. My parents are always telling me to put my phone down and go play outside instead. They worry that social media isn't good for my health and might be messing with my sleep and making me feel left out or unpopular. I've heard stories about kids beingbullied or feeling really insecure because they don't get enough likes on their photos. That sounds awful! The other thing grown-ups worry about is kids seeing inappropriate stuff online, like violence or super rude language. Some of the videos on TikTok and other apps can definitely be a little crazy. And you have to be careful about online predators trying to take advantage of kids. That's one of the scariest parts of social media for sure.I try not to spend too much time mindlessly scrolling and watch what kind of accounts I follow and interact with. My parents have parental controls set up on my devices so I can't access certain sites or apps. I think social media is mostly fun and harmless if you're smart about how you use it.At the same time, I can totally see how social media can become an unhealthy obsession, especially for young people. We're still figuring out our identities and self-worth, so seeing filtered, picture-perfect versions of people's lives all day can really mess with your self-esteem. And wasting hours just zoning out watching videos seems like a huge waste when you could be doing something more productive or spending quality time with family and friends in real life.I know some kids at my school who have deleted certain apps or taken breaks from social media because they felt it was taking over their lives and making them feel crummy about themselves. It's great that they recognizedthe negative effects and put their mental health first. More power to them!Ultimately, I think social media is here to stay whether we like it or not. It can definitely be a ton of fun and an amazing way to express yourself, learn about the world and connect with others near and far. But it's so important to use it in moderation and really think critically about the content you're consuming and putting out there. As young people, we have to be smart about protecting our privacy, steering clear of scams and predators, and not letting social media take over our lives or determine our self-worth. Our real lives filled with family, friends, activities and interests happening in the real world should always come first. Social media should just be a fun extra thing we do, not an unhealthy obsession.Phew, that's my two cents on this huge topic! Let me know if you have any other questions. I've got to go now - my soccer team is having a team bonding night free of any screens or social media. Pretty cool, right? Catch you later!篇5The Big Deal with Social MediaHey guys! Today I want to talk to you about something that is a huge part of our lives - social media. Whether it's TikTok, Instagram, Snapchat or something else, we're all pretty much glued to our phones and tablets these days, scrolling through videos, pics and updates from our friends, family, and favorite influencers.Social media is a great way to stay connected and have fun, but it can also be a big deal that impacts us kids in some pretty major ways - both good and bad. Let me break it down for you:The Good StuffOne of the coolest things about social media is how it lets us express ourselves and share our lives with others. We can post pics and vids of us doing our favorite activities, make silly edits and filters, and get lots of likes and comments from our friends and followers. It makes us feel seen and heard.Social media also allows us to discover new interests and learn about things we're curious about through videos, pics andposts about different topics. There's always something new to explore! It's also a great way to stay in the loop about what's going on with our friends, classmates, family, and community. We can easily keep up with each other's lives and activities through posts and stories. So fun!The Not-So-Good StuffAs awesome as social media can be, there's also a downside that can really affect us kids in negative ways if we're not careful. One major issue is the constant comparison to others that it encourages. You've probably felt this way before - scrolling through your feed and seeing pics of your friends looking perfect, doing cool things, getting tons of likes. It can make you feel bad about yourself and like you're not measuring up. That's definitely not a good feeling.Another problem is the cyberbullying and mean comments that happen sometimes on social media platforms. People can say really hurtful things from behind their screens, which spreads negativity and damages self-esteem. No one deserves that. There's also the addictive nature of social media that makes it hard for many of us to pull ourselves away. Spending too much time fixated on our devices and comparing ourselves to others online isn't healthy.Finding BalanceSo with all the pros and cons, what's the right approach? Well, moderation is key! Using social media isn't bad as long as we're smart about it.It's awesome to use these platforms to express ourselves, explore interests, and stay connected. But we have to be aware of the downside too. Don't get obsessed with racking up likes and followers. Don't compare yourself to others' curated online lives. Take breaks from your devices. And never, ever engage in cyberbullying. If we can find that balance of using social media in a fun but controlled way, it can absolutely have a positive impact on us kids and our lives. Just don't let it take over or bring you down. What do you guys think? I'd love to hear your thoughts and perspectives on this too. Social media is a huge part of our world, so it's something we all need to figure out how to navigate in a healthy way. Let's do it together!篇6The Big Deal About Social MediaHi there! My name is Jamie and I'm a 10-year-old student. Today I want to talk to you about something that's a really big deal for kids my age - social media! You've probably heard a lot about apps like Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat and more. Well, I'm here to tell you all about how social media impacts kids like me.First off, social media is super popular! It seems like all of my friends and classmates have accounts on different apps and platforms. We spend a lot of time scrolling through feeds, watching videos, sharing photos and chatting with each other online. Some of my friends even create and post their own video content!Social media can be a lot of fun. It allows me to stay connected with my friends outside of school hours. We can comment on each other's posts, share memes and videos that crack us up, and just hang out together online. It's like a big digital playground where we can goof around. I really enjoy it when my friends and I are all online at the same time - it feels like we're together even though we're at home.I also enjoy watching videos on apps like TikTok and YouTube. There's endless entertainment and I can find videos on any topic that interests me, whether it's gaming, sports, comedy or something totally random. It's awesome to have such a huge video library at my fingertips to explore.Another cool thing about social media is that I can connect with others who share my niche interests. For example, I'm really into dinosaurs and there are accounts and pages all about paleontology that I can follow. I get to learn new facts, see fossil discoveries, and chat with other dinosaur fans from around the world. Social media allows me to tap into my passions in a way that I couldn't do locally. However, social media isn't all sunshine and rainbows. There are some downsides that kids should be aware of. One big issue is cyberbullying and online harassment. I've seen cases where people say really mean and hurtful things on social media to my friends or classmates. It's so easy to be aggressive when you're hidden behind a screen. This can lead to anxiety, depression and low self-esteem for the targets of bullying.Another concerning thing about social media is the emphasis on image and appearances. There is a lot of pressure, especially for girls, to look a certain way and to portray a"perfect" life online. I've seen friends edit and filter their photos until they look completely different. They also only post the happiest, most glamorous moments which makes it seem like their lives are way more exciting than reality. This can breed insecurity and negativity as kids compare themselves to the highlighted reels of others' lives. It makes you question your own self-worth and body image. I've overheard some girls at school saying they feel ugly or inadequate because of what they see portrayed on social apps. That's such a sad byproduct of our filtered, online worlds.Additionally, social media can be a huge distraction and time-sink if not kept in check. I know kids (and yes, some adults too) who literallyspend hours and hours endlessly scrolling and refreshing their feeds each day. This can negatively impact school performance, social skills, and general productivity as we spend so much time stuck behind screens. From my young eyes, social media is a powerful, pervasive force that comes with pros and cons. On the upside, it connects us to new people and perspectives outside our local bubbles. It provides entertainment, creativity outlets, knowledge sharing and community building. However, it can also enable bullying, breed insecurity, promote addictive behaviors, and expose kids to inappropriate or disturbing content if parents aren't actively monitoring usage. Moderation and self-regulation are so important with these tech tools.I think social apps are here to stay and will only become more embedded into our lives and cultures. The key is learning to use them in a balanced, positive way from an early age. We need to be thoughtful about our relationship with social media so that it remains a fun complement to our real lives, not a harmful obsession or toxic environment. Those are just some of my thoughts as a 10-year-old navigating the good, the bad and the ugly of the digital world. Social media is shaping up to be a big part of my generation's story for better or worse. It's up to us to be smart about how we use it and how we treat ourselves and others online. Thanks for reading my perspective - Happy Posting!。

关于节目观点的英语作文Title: A Perspective on TV ShowsIn the era of digital technology and information overload, TV shows have become an integral part of our lives, shaping our perspectives, beliefs, and values. This essay aims to explore the influence of TV shows on society and individuals, as well as the potential implications they may have on our lives.Firstly, TV shows serve as a reflection of society. They mirror the cultural, social, and economic aspects of our world, providing viewers with a glimpse into diverse lifestyles, beliefs, and values. Through characters and storylines, TV shows address contemporary issues, such as racism, gender equality, and social justice, thus fostering awareness and encouraging discussions about these topics. Moreover, TV shows have the power to shape our viewpoints. They often present certain ideals, norms, and biases that can influence our perception of the world. For instance, a show that portrays women solely in stereotypical roles may reinforce gender stereotypes in society. On the other hand, a show that promotes diversity and inclusivity can help break down barriers and promote understanding among different groups of people. However, the influence of TV shows is not always positive. Some shows may perpetuate harmful stereotypes, promote violence, orglorify unhealthy behaviors. This can have a detrimental effect on viewers, especially impressionable young minds, who may emulate the behaviors they see on screen. Therefore, it is crucial for broadcasters and content creators to be mindful of the messages theyconvey and the potential consequences of their shows.Furthermore, TV shows can also be a source of escapism for many. They provide an outlet from the stresses of daily life and offer a form of entertainment that allows viewers to immerse themselves in different worlds and experiences. This can be both beneficial, as it provides a temporary relief from reality, and harmful, as it may lead to excessive consumption and a neglect of real-life responsibilities. In conclusion, TV shows play a significant role in shaping our views and understanding of the world. They can be a force for good, promoting awareness, tolerance, and social change, or they can perpetuate harmful stereotypes and behaviors. As responsible viewers, we must be critical of the content we consume and be aware of its potential impact on our lives. Similarly, broadcasters and content creators must strive to produce shows that are not only entertaining but also informative, diverse, and socially responsible. By doing so, TV shows can continue to be a valuable part of our cultural landscape, enriching our lives and fostering a more inclusive and understanding society.。

On TV ShowsTalent shows have been the rage in China since the success of the "Super Girl" national singing competition organized by Hunan satellite television from 2004.1 Nowadays, TV shows are very popular. TV programs like Super Girls and Happy Girls in China have attacked thousands of people to participate, and many more wait to watch them when they are on Shows. Although there are slightly differences in procedure and selection form, the main target are young people. The essence of these TV Shows is creates civilian hero and popular singers and actors, they aims to paved a road of fame for ordinary people.Opinions are divided on the question whether it is good or not to participate in this TV shows. Some supporters think it is a good chance change cont estants’ future. They can go upon the stage through the program to show themselves, even if they will not become the champions, but they at least gain experience and get plenty of advice, which will lead them toward success. While some people think that it can only bring some fun to audiences and provide a way for TV programmers to earn much money. I have some views on this TV Shows, either. For teenagers, the main reason that such kind of programs enjoying widespread popularity is that they help some ordinary people with performance talent realize their dreams by offering them the platform to show themselves. These programs provide excellent opportunities to express themselves and to show their specialty. They show their talent by singing dancing doing magic or imitating celebrities. The TV Shows just provide such a rare opportunities to release themselves. At the same time, when they are on the stage, it helps to improve their self-confidence and add to their courage to face all kinds of challenges.2Nowadays, we lack of dreams. More precisely, the lack of ways to realize our dreams. For example, If a young man in a humble family background has made the dream of officials in China, without a certain background, a meteoric rise in officials circle isvery difficult. An impoverished college student has the dream to do business, without father's wealth accumulation, it is hard to be success on top of Forbes list3. TV Shows just so good to let ordinary people see a dream come true. For talented young people who have high ideals, they can come into contact with stars. If it is not for Hunan TV’s “Super Girl”, Li Yuchun, Zhang Liangying and other young people can’t be popular so quickly. What's more, with people's economic level highly improved, more and more people could not be satisfied only by material conditions and are seeking for spiritual and cultural activities.4 At this time Talent Show Programs catch their attention and bring them pleasure and entertainments. Actually, it is a wonderful way to relax by watching ordinary people becoming famous and win cash prizes through this kind of show.On terms of business, the increasing popularity of these TV Shows have helped the channels in generating huge income by way of advertising. Also when they are on recordings, many more people want to watch them on site, so the company will get more profit. For those media companies, such as EE-MEDIA, these TV programs help them find potential singersSuch TV shows are getting increasingly popular among china’s national and local TV programs nowadays. No one would deny that the programs bring great entertainment in our daily life and relaxed us by watching vigorous personal shows. However, every coin has two sides. Though Talent Show Programs truly bring us lots of pleasure, it has caused many negative effects, especially on the youth. For example, many students have spent too much time and money in the pursuit of various programs, which affects seriously their poor studies. As they want to look glamorous, they spend a lot of money on clothes and cosmetics. And part of money should be spent on improving life quality in poor areas. For some enthusiasts, theyspend most of their time in participating in all kinds of TV Shows; they envy the lives of stars and just want to be one of them. As a result, they neglected their studies.Another obvious example is that it is easy to make people immersed in imagination, ignore real life. This TV shows can subvert the youngsters’ values. They think attending the PK shows is a shortcut to the success, so they may despise the way of achieving success by hard work. And if the young people fail in these shows, they will suffer a psychological unbalance. It does no good to young people, as the old saying, No pains, no gains. It is better for young people to study and work down to earth, only in this way, they can achieve their dreams in the end.The significance of the rise of TV Shows is huge, and it has a long duration. It is not a individual problem, but a social problem.5 It should attach great importance to the relevant departments. Only various departments cooperate, can we achieve good results. Anyway, we do not hope that TV Shows will become a tragedy, but really become a stage for young people to realize their dreams. In my opinion, we cannot live without amusement. As long as the talent show could entertain and inspirit us, there is great sense to encourage them. It would be better if we could minimize the disadvantages. For example, the society can lead the teenagers in a proper way and the government should take measures to control advisably. We need not be too critical about such TV programs. If they can bring happiness to those who participate in them as well as to the audience, they are justifiably entitled to prosper.Footnotes1 Zhouxing, The status of China's TV talent show, TheoryJournal,2007,(09).2 Ruomeng,Wang, How to teach the spirit on young people, Education and Research, 2011,(32).3Zhangjia, The impact of TV talent show.
