A few years ago it was fashionable to speak of a generation gap. Parents complained抱怨that children didn't show them proper respect适当的尊重and obedience顺从, while children complained that their parents didn't understand them at all. Many critics['kritik]评论家argue that it is built into the fabric组织of our society.

One cause of the generation gap is the opportunity that young people have to choose their own life. In traditional societies, children live in the same area as their parents, marry people their parents know and approve of 赞同, and often continue the family occupation工作. In our society社会, people often move out of自…离开the home at an early age, marry or live with people their parents have never met, and choose occupations that are rather颇different.

In our upwardly mobile 向上变化的society, parents often expect their children to be better than them. However, these ambitions夙愿for their children are another cause of the division分歧between them. Often they discover that they have very little in common共有.

Finally, the speed速度of change in our society is another cause of it. In a traditional culture, people are valued受到尊重的for their wisdom智慧, but in our society the knowledge of a lifetime may become out of date过时的. The young and the old seem to live in two very different worlds, separated 分开by different skills技能and abilities能力智慧.

No doubt无疑的, the generation gap will continue to be a feature特色 of our life for some time to come. Its causes are rooted in来源于the freedoms 自主权and opportunities时机、机会of our society, and in the rapid pace快的速度at which society changes.

It is true that most of us value估价 honesty highly. However, nowadays we often confront confidence crisis信任危机 such as cheating, overcharging过高的要求, fake commodities

赝品 and so on. I think that we should be honest because being honest is not only beneficial to ourselves but also to others and the whole society. The reasons can be listed as follows.

Firstly, only honest people can be truly respected 真正的受到尊重by the others and can make more friends over a long period of time.

Secondly, honesty, which is the traditional virtue传统美德 of the Chinese people, can make our life easier and more harmonious和谐的.

Thirdly, honesty can make our society more stable. A case例子 in point is that Singapore, a society featuring面貌、特色 trustworthiness可信赖 and integrity正直, has a comparatively相对地 low criminal rate犯罪率.

Responsibility can be understood in many ways. for the parents , they have had the responsibility for caring for and fostering培养 their children since the birth of their baby.

f or teachers,both in kindergartens幼儿园 and colleges,they also should be responsible for the study and life of their students,that is to say,teachers are the second parents of children somewhile有时候.
