本课的阅读部分呈现的是谈论西餐的餐桌礼仪,来引出中西方饮食文化方面的差异,学习有关餐具的词汇,掌握有关就餐的短语,语法方面继续学习由whether和if 引导的宾语从句。

8.德国 德国人非常注重规则和纪律,干什么都十分认真。凡是有明文规定的,德国人都会自觉遵守;凡是 明确禁止的,德国人绝不会去碰它。德国人很讲究清洁和整齐,不仅注意保持自己生活的小环境 的清洁和整齐,而且也十分重视大环境的清洁和整齐。守时间 喜清静,德国人比较注重礼节形 式。在社交场合与客人见面时,一般行握手礼。与熟人朋友和亲人相见时,一般行拥抱礼。他们 并不喜欢听恭维话,对刚相识者不宜直呼其名。在原联邦德国(现东部德国),年龄、职业、婚 姻状况、宗教信仰、政治面目甚至个人收入,除关系极亲密的人以外,别人是绝不得提出这类问 题的,尤其对女性,更得十分注意。 德国菜以酸、咸口味为主,调味较为浓重。主食以肉类为主。他们烹调肉食的方法,有红烧、煎、 煮、清蒸,还有特制的汤等,偏油腻,他们一天的主餐是午餐,而午餐的主食大抵为炖的或煮的 肉类,其肉食品以羊肉、猪肉、鸡、鸭为主,但是,他们大多数人是不爱吃鱼,只有北部沿海地 区少数居民才吃鱼。他们还爱吃马铃薯、色拉等。德国人吃起马铃薯来简直不厌其多。他们种出 来的马铃薯,味道之佳,有口皆碑。德国人之所以拿马铃薯为主食,原因就在这里。 忌讳“13”和“星期五”,要是13日碰巧又是个星期五(有“黑色星期五”之说),人们会特别小心 谨慎。 忌讳茶色、黑色、红色和深蓝色。在德国穿黑鞋尤其别系白鞋带,因为那是纳粹的标志 。刀、剪和餐刀、餐叉等西餐餐具。因为有“断交”之嫌。向德国人赠送礼品时,不宜选择刀、 剑、剪、餐刀和餐叉,因为这表明凶兆。而以褐色、白色、黑色的包装纸和彩带包装、捆扎礼品 ,也是不允许的。 不宜随意以玫瑰或蔷薇送人,前者表示求爱,后者则专用于悼亡。玫瑰表示 爱,香水与内衣表示亲近,即使女性之间,也不宜互赠这类物品。
