Huangguoshu waterfallAs the biggest waterfall in China and one of the famous waterfalls in the world, Huangguoshu Waterfall was watered from faraway rivers and brooks and turns into swift torrent at abrupt cliffs, thus creating a majestic grandeur composed of torrential waves, water bloom and mist accompanied with roaring sound. It is located in southwest of Anshun City, Guizhou Province, with about 230 feet long and 266 feet wide.Huangguoshu Waterfall creates airy-fairy colorful rainbows, resulting in a unique visual and auditory shock. This is a unique waterscape created by the unequalled force of nature which adds color to man's living space. Since ancient times, its incomparable reputation has won admiration from many people, including learned men, poets, photographers, tourists and roamers.There are eighteen waterfalls in the area around Huangguoshu Waterfall and the area has become a national park known as the Huangguoshu Waterfall National Park. There are three main areas in the park: Huangguoshu Waterfall Cluster, Water Curtain Cave, and Rhinoceros Pool.Huangguoshu is best known for the Huangguoshu Waterfalls Cluster. Its flow is seasonally adjusted. A reservoir behind the waterfall holds back some of the water. Doupotang Waterfall, one kilometer (less than one mile) up the river to Huangguoshu Waterfall, at 105 meters (344 feet) across is the widest. It is 21 meters (69 feet) high. Other waterfalls like LuosiTan Waterfall, Silver-Chain Waterfall and Dishuitan Waterfall all have their distinct features.The Water-Curtain Cave dissects Huangguoshu and provides visitors view ports on the waterfall. The total length of the cave is 134 meters (440 feet), including windows and halls.
