The Sahara’s climate is very hot and dry.Although it is very hot during the day,it does become cold at night.The Sahara used to be a fertile area in which elephants,giraffes and other animals grazed.It is estimated that in 4,000 BC,the climate began to get drier.The fertile landscape dried up and the desert widened,creating the form that appears today.(SD-Agencies)。

● 撒哈拉沙漠由两种气候情势所主宰︰北部是干旱副热带气候,南部是干旱热带气候。干旱副热带 气候的特征是每年和每日的气温变化幅度大,冷至凉爽的冬季和炎热的夏季至最高的降水量。
● 年平均日气温的年幅度约20℃(68℉)。平均冬季气温为13℃(55℉)。夏季极热。利比亚的阿济济耶(Al-Aziziyah) 最高气温曾达到创纪录的58℃(136℉)。年降水量为76公釐(3吋),虽然降雨变化极大,多数降水发生在12~3月期间。 另一降水高潮是8月,以雷暴形式为其特征。
