The way English study should be like
English is important in our life and also widely used throughout the world .And English is one of the most important subjects in our study tasks.At international conferences,English is also used as the official language.English is the most important communication tool in the twenty-first century, the world's most comprehensive news content, and the most advanced ideas and the highest technology and most knowledge exchange will be conducted in English. The fundamental purpose of learning English is to acquire an important learning and communication tool. Not just as a job-essential skills of English. Since English is the most important communication tool, then we how to learn English? What the most effective way English should be like.
Microsoft Corp Vice President Dr. Li Kaifu said, "the most important English learning method is learning combined with practice, not only "learn" but also "use" ,which cannot be relied on the recitation of the way of learning .The best wa y to improve English listening and speaking ability is directly talking with those English-speaking foreigners.All in all, the courage to practice and learn English is needed ."
As far as I am concerned,English study should be easy,relaxed and exciting.We can study it from following aspects,
1.We should arouse our interests in English, read some English readings and English magazines, article.At the same time,we can broaden our knowledge on the surface and enhance our reading ability.The best way is to keep a diary in English.
2.Recite some classic articles.If we can always recite some good articles, our English grammar is naturally good. It is a problem of English vocabulary.Li Y ang advocated that the words should be made into a sentence. Real context may be the best way to remember these words.
3.In the class efficiency is important, we should pay more attention to review after class.What's more we should develop a good habit of reading.Reading in the morning is a more effective method to memorize the text.Morning reading is the main content of the text and there is no need to specifically to memorize new words.We can remember the single word when reading the text.It is so boring to recite English words which we are not familiar with.
4.For English study, " say " is one of the most important basic skills.We should practice our speaking ability as much as possible.we can start from the " read "and begin to slowly accumulate our sense of language, and then gradually from the books, say what we want to say. At the same time, we should speak English bravely, only familiar with the " say ", we can not only learn some common vocabulary and find the language sense, but also improve hearing ability. In fact, there are a lot of choices in the listening material .For example, we are familiar with the VOA.We can listen to it on the radio or download it on the Internet.We can also buy some English books and tapes.I think listening textbook is good material which we can find out its dictation and listening training. In fact, we can also listen to English songs and read more articles in English, it can expand a lot of vocabularies, We can keep reading a few pages of English novel, write a reading report every day etc.
As we have learnt English well,how can we use it and improve our fluency in spoken English?As we all know that in today's world of globalization and Internet communication, a fluent knowledge of English has become a valuable skill. Everybody from business people to travelers to college students can benefit from improving their English. However, students of English as a Second Language,like us, may find that we have trouble speaking the language as fluently as we'd like to.
Here is my opinion.
First,listen to as much English as possible. Listening to English will help us to internalize the speech patterns and intonations of native speakers, which can be the final step for many students in becoming fluent or bilingual. We can find many English-language television and radio programs online (for instance, National Public Radio has excellent resources). When speaking English, try to imitate the natural rise and fall of native speakers' sentences as much as possible. Keep a running list of vocabulary that is new to you that we can memorize.
Second,read as much English as possible. Not only will reading in English improve your vocabulary, but it will also improve our syntax and grammar. Seeing these patterns repeated will help them become second nature to us. Online newspapers (for example, the New Y ork Times) offer students of English a way to practice our language skills while keeping up with current events. Many cities also have English bookstores as well. Lighter novels (such as crime stories or "Chick Lit") can make learning English more of a pleasure and less of a chore.
Third,speak with natives. Most larger cities offer English classes taught by native speakers. If this option is too expensive, consider doing a language exchange with another student who is learning our native language.For example,we can do a language exchange with the students from Beijng Language University and it is not far from our school.
Fourth ,work on our accent. If we have access to a native speaker of the language, study his accent. Note which words and syllables he accentuates as he speaks and how he shapes his sentences. We can also learn a lot from our own native language and the accent speakers from our country have when they speak English. For example, native French speakers often have a hard time with the English letter H at the beginnings of words or forget to pronounce the S at the ends of plural words, as these letters are treated differently in French.
English study is not so easy. If we study it as hard as possible,we will love it.。
