本模块分两个单元，第一单元重点学习如何与外国朋友交流，怎样与他们结交朋友或笔友以及can在讨论语言能力的用法，达到语言学习用于语言交际的目的。
学情分析小学六年级学生已经过三年《义务教育课程标准实验教科书》小学英语教科书合计六册的英语学习，普遍对英语已有一定的兴趣和初步的认识，同时已初步掌握can的用法；能用简单的英语互致问候、交换有关个人、家庭和朋友的简单信息，能根据所学内容表演小对话和歌谣，而且在图片的帮助下能听懂、读懂并讲述简单的故事，根据图片或提示能写简单的句子。
在英语学习中比较乐于了解外国的文化习俗和风土人情，乐于参与，积极合作，主动请教老师或英语学习优秀的学生。
尽管如此，由于受教学条件限制和一些主观原因，仍有一部分学生英语基础比较薄弱，主要表现在英语听力、朗读能力和表演能力上教学目标（一）知识与技能目标（1）、能够掌握词汇： pen friend, address（2）、理解并掌握句型：Pleased to meet you!Can I be your pen friend?Can you be my pen friend?Yes, of course.Sorry.This is my address.（3）、让学生会用英语表达自己的能力。
（4）、培养学生自主、合作的学习方式。
培养学生在活动中体会英语学习的乐趣，使他们在小组中积极与他人合作，相互帮助，共同完成任务。
