It's traditional to bring a gift when invited to someone's home. Usually fresh flowers or fruit are your best bet (the number eight is considered lucky, so eight apples or eight oranges is a good idea) or, of course, anything from home. It is also courteous to bring something back from traveling—just a token gift is fine. But be sure to be fair with your gift-giving: don't give something nicer to the secretary in the office than to the dean of the college, and don't give gifts to one group of students and not another—they'll find out, you can bet on it. Often, it's better to give something that can be shared, like food.

Though I have lived in Canada for 3 months, I can not suit their life better. Sometimes, I will worry about some questions which is so difficult to solve better.When I arrived in Winnipeg, I remembered the time is 6 pm at that time, I went to my dormitory with others in a car, I found many shops are closed, including, a big shop store. I was so surprised. In China, after 6 pm, people usually go shopping, having a walk, playing cards, ktv and so on. I do not know what they are doing in the evening. Sometimes, I leave my room and go outside to buy something, but I can’t not see anybody in the road. Though I can stand for along, I will live here for 4 years, I cannot imagine. So far, I just surf internet and communicate with my friends, of course, I will go to library to study, I think Winnipeg’s night is very boring so far. There are many different ways in food between Canada and China, In China, we usually ear rice, cooked meat, a fried dish, soup which has some vegetables and meats. We usually use oil to cook everything, however, here, it just has sandwiched, and raw vegetables, beef, pizza and I think the best food is roast beef and pizza in Canada, because pizza is surely very popular in Canada, the pizza is made of steamed bread with meat and vegetable sauce on it. Maybe, it includes many fruits, I like pizza with potatoes very much. And the cookers spin the paste to form the round bread.So far, I think the special way to study in foreign country is better than one in my country. Here there are just thirty students every class and in class students should answer questions with their painters, it is good to foster their hobbits. But in my country, there are 50 students every class, it is not good for studying and it will cause some problems, such as, some students can not see the blackboard, and they may do something to waste time so that they will get bad tests.In fact, different cultures have different merits, we need use some ways to change bad points and use good ways to get successful, I think I will spend 4 or 5 years creating more things.。

五年级英语下册Unit 10 Different tastes第一课时一、教学内容分析Module5的话题是Food,其中Unit10侧重的是不同地方口味不同,语言重点是单词的学习、课文的理解和口头表述水平。
本课是Unit 10的第一课时,主要是教授新课,教学内容是课本P56 Let’s read。
根据课文内容再适当穿插国内其他地方的饮食口味的学习。
二、教学对象分析五年级学生无论是英语知识还是读写技能都有了一定的基础。
本课将在培养新单词的学习和课文的理解作指导,协助学生在课堂中巩固已学的食物单词,较好地掌握新单词,流利地朗读课文,并了解一定地区的饮食偏好和习惯。
三、教学目标语言目标:1、“四会”掌握单词:chopstick, bowl, plate, knife, fork, most, also, pancake;2、学生能听说读以下新词和短语:different taste, western food, for example, plenty of, taste terrible;3、掌握常见食物名称。
水平目标:1、能理解和流利朗读课文;2、了解中西方饮食偏好和习惯。
情感目标:通过对课文的学习,能了解中西方饮食文化的差异。
因为本单元的学习内容比较贴近生活,容易使学生在学习过程中产生共鸣,从而激发学习的积极性。

做游戏这一活动看似耽了课堂时间,却使得课堂气氛一下子活跃起来,培养了学生团结协作的精神,激发了学生的竞争意识,并通过励志教育和挫折教育,培养学生坚韧的品质,为学生以后走上工作岗位夯实基础。
