Step 1 Presentation
Discuss these questions
1. What do you say when you meet someone?
2. Do you know what Canadians say when they meet?
3. Do you know how to introduce someone in English?
Today we’re going to learn something about them. Do you want to know? We’ll learn three new friends, they are Li Ming Danny and Jenny. Now open your books on page 2. And read “Hello.”
Step 2 Practice
A: Hello! My name is … I a m from China. What’s your name?
B: Hello! My name is Jenny.
A: Where are from?
B: I am from Canada.
Step 3 Practice
1. Wh at’s your name? My name is …
2. A: How are you?
B: I’m fine. And you?
A: I’m good, thanks. Nice to meet you.
B: Nice to meet you, too.
Step 4 Let’s act
1. Play the tape recorder as the student follow along in their student books.
2. Students read aloud together.
3. Read individually.
4. Present. Ask several pairs of students to practice in front of the class.
5. Group work. Students practice the dialogue in groups of three.
Step 5 Let’s do it
1. Listen and sing. First just listen, then sing after it.
2. Play a game. Work in groups, then ask some groups to show to the others.
