第一课时Story time
Step1 Warming up:
1.Greetings and free talk
T: Good morning, boys and girls. What’s the weather like today?
S: It’s sunny.
T: Yes, it’s a sunny day. What a nice day! There are so many teachers in our school today. Let’s say“Welcome to our school !” Now, shall we show them around our school? Look, here
are some pictures of our school. Let’s have a look.
(PPT先呈现学校的文明护照、八礼四仪规章制度以及美丽校园和学生活动图片)
T: Look, this is our Manual of civilization. This is our school. It is clean and beautiful. Everyday, we have lunch in the big dinning hall. We study in the big and clean classroom. We read books in the bright library. There are two parking lots for teachers. It’s very convenient. This is our school. Is it beautiful? Do you love it? Yes, we should love our school. We should be civilized student.
2. Game:Yeah、Yeah、Yeah and No、No、No
(1)T: Do you like playing games? Let’s play a game. OK? I’ll show you some pictures. If it is right, please say : Yeah、Yeah、Yeah. If it is wrong, please say : No 、No 、No. OK?
(教学生手势— PPT呈现现校园实拍图片,学生判断。

(2)T: These behaviors are not good. Can you give them some advice ?
(呈现刚刚不文明行为的图片,让学生用Don’t...或者You can’t…来制止这些行为。
) S: Don’t shout/ climb/ fight/ run... You can’t shout / climb/ fight/ run…
T: We can also show them some signs. (PPT呈现不文明图片,依次呈现标志)

Step2 Presentation
T: How much do you know about the signs? Where can we see the signs?
S: In the library/ in the park/ in the street....
T: Look, our friends come out. Where did they go? Let’s watch the cartoon, then answer.
(动画结束,PPT呈现课文四幅插图, 看图回答问题)
新授:(1)shopping centre (例举万达购物中心)(板书四个地点)(2)a juice shop
(3)a bookshop
(4)a restaurant (跟want比较教学,出示饭店图片)
2. T: What did they talk about? 选择
T: Did they talk about clothes, food or drinks, books or signs?
让学生观察图片后选:A. Clothes B. Food and drinks C. Signs
T: Yes, they talked about the signs.
T: What signs are they? Let’s learn the signs学习标语名称。

学习单词mean,句型What do the signs mean?
Please learn by yourselves, read the story in pairs, try to underline the key sentences. Then discuss, find out the answer of ‘What do the signs mean?’ Here are some new words in the story, you can help each other, or ask me for help.
(1)带着问题朗读课文,划出重点线索。
(2)小组讨论,解决问题。

(Part1)
T: Have you finished?
Look, Mike, Helen and Tim are at a shopping centre. 强调下用at
There’s a sign Wet floor at the shopping centre.
What does it mean? S: It means the floor is wet. (PPT出示下划线) (跟读板书)
Do they know the meaning? Does Tim know? How do you know? Tim say: What does it mean? Does Helen know? How do you know? Helen says: It means the floor is wet. (跟读这组问答) Does Mike know? How do you know? Mike says: Be careful!

(Part 2)
T: Where are they? They are in a juice shop. Do they want some juice? How many glasses of juice do you want? How do you know? Can you see that sign? What sign is it? What does it mean?
S : It means you can’t litter here.(PPT出示划线)(跟读,板书)
T: What can we do? We can put rubbish in the bin.
(Part 3)
T: There’s the bookshop. Helen wants to go in. Can Helen take her juice into the shop? How do you know? Mike says: You can’t take your juice into the shop. (教take…into…)
Why can’t Helen take her juice into the shop?
S: There’s a sign. No eating or drinking. (PPT出示标志“No eating or drinking.”)
T: What does it mean?
S: It means you can’t eat or drink here.(PPT出示划线)(跟读,板书)
(Part 4)
T: Where are they now? What are they doing?
S: They are eating some noodles. (跟读这句长句)
T: Here’s a sign. What sign is it?
S: No smoking.(PPT出示标志“No smoking”)
T: What does it mean? (PPT出示划线)
S :It means you can’t smoke here.(PPT出示划线)(跟读,板书)
T: Is someone smoking? (教someone)
T: How do you know? S: Helen says: I can smell it. 理解someone smell
T: What’s Tim’s advice ? S: Please don’t smoke here. (PPT出示划线) (跟读)
7. We know the signs. Let’s read the story.
(1) 缺词跟读录音。
(2) 同桌同读,遇问题同桌互助。
(3) 分角色朗读。
8. Do you know the story? Open your book, turn to page50, finish the exercise: Read and choose. Are you OK? Let’s check the answer.
9. 学生根据板书复述课文Who - Where - Signs- meanings
Step4: Consolidation
1. T: Can you give them some advice? (出示课文四幅图,给出建议)

2.Signs in our life. There are many signs in our life. Different signs mean different meanings.
3.We know the signs very well. Now can you give them some advice?

1. Read the story after the tape and try to recite it.
2. Find more signs around us or on the Internet.
