A memorable day
May 12th is an unforgettable day for all the Chinese people. A serious earthquake shocked all the Chinese people on that day in Sichuan buildings fell down suddenly and thousands of people died. I was very sad when I heard of the news.
All the Chinese people get together to overcome the difficulties. Most people donated money to them, so did I. The soldiers and the doctors tried their best to save more people and they never give up!
I hope the Sichuan peole can rebuid their hometown early. I believe tomorrow will be better!

i was not able to get high marks when i was in primary school. teachers didn't like me because i was not a good student. mother considered me as a bad kid. they hurt me by thinking i am a retarded child. but i am no fool. almost all of my paintings were showed in public. many famous artists had praised me for my paintings. they called me "little prodigy". and dad was on my side too. he encouraged me to do what i liked and what i thought was proper.

The Sports Activities I Like Best
Just as lots of teenagers take to pop music, I love basketball. It is my favorite sports. It’s part of my life. I began to play basketball in my childhood. I still remember the good old days when I played with my classmates after school. Later on, as I grew up, almost everything changed, but this sport-playing basketball remained and my love of it grew even stronger.
I love this sport because it brings joys and health to my life. When I got tired from office work, I went to the sports ground and felt refreshed. If there were worries and cares from daily life, I went to the sports ground.
There everything went away except basketball. It is basketball that keeps me in good shape and mood.

Changes in My Life
There have been many changes in my life. With the development of the economy my life is better off. For the clothing I have spare money to buy sorts of pretty clothes. But in the past there were fewer clothes in my wardrobe. For the food I usually had traditional Chinese food for every meal rice noodles or streamed ban with one or two light dishes even preserved pickles. Nowadays I can afford any delicious food including western foods. For the housing I have moved from a cramped and gloomy room to a big and bright flat. For the getting around I rode an old bike on my way to work a year ago. At present I drive my private car to travel. I believe my life will be better and better in the future.

Why do students learn English
