Passage 1
My name is Peter and I am a middle school student. One day last year, I borrowed a magazine from the school library. I saw some beautiful photos in the magazine. They were taken in some places of interest in China. I made up my mind to visit China at that time.
During last summer holiday, I left the USA for China with my parents. We visited some famous places in China, such as the Great Wall, Lijiang, Jiuzhaigou and Dali. My father is a good photographer. Of course he took a lot of photos in China.
My favourite place is Jiuzhaigou. Jiuzhaigou is in the northwest of Sichuan. Its name is from the nine villages in the valley(山谷). In the photo which was taken by my father in Jiuzhaigou, you can see the mountains are covered with thousands of trees. The trees in the lower part of the mountain are different from the ones in the higher part. So we can see many kinds of trees on the same mountain. The color of the lakes there is very beautiful. It is green and blue. The water in the lakes is very clean.
It took us four days to visit the main scenic spots (景点) in Jiuzhaigou.
When I came back to school, I showed the photos to my friends. They all liked them very much.
I hope that I can go to Jiuzhaigou again when I grow up. I will take more photos there by myself. Maybe one day I will be a famous photographer in the world and my photos of Jiuzhaigou will be found in newspapers and magazines.

Years ago a farmer owned a farm along the sea. He wanted to hire(雇佣)some workers, but most people didn’t want to work on the farm along the sea. They were afraid of the storm.
